Learning Experiences of Filipino Students in an International Exchange Program in Thailand

Having the opportunity to participate in an international exchange program is not an easy path for every student. After spending a month in an international exchange program at Phranakhon Rajabhat University, Bangkok, seven Filipino students from Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology shared their reflections for this research study, which aimed to examine their learning experiences during the program. The research methodology included questionnaires and semi-structured interviews. The findings revealed that their experiences in terms of academic growth, cultural understanding, and personal development were overwhelmingly positive, despite some initial adjustments. They expressed a willingness to return to the country with their loved ones, highlighting that the organizers effectively addressed their needs and met their expectations. Their detailed insights in this report may provide useful ideas for those organizing similar programs.

The Effectiveness of Herbal Inhaler Products, Suan Sunandha Palace Recipe

This research purpose for Study the effectiveness of the herbal inhalant product, Wang Suan Sunandha recipe. This is quasi-experimental research with a single group pretest-posttest design. The experimental group is Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University students aged 18-25 years. Be healthy and have no chronic diseases. Consented to be research volunteers, totaling 50 people (25 males, 25 females). The research instrument is 1 questionnaire, divided into 4 parts, consisting of questionnaires and personal information of the sample group. Vital signs recording form Emotion and Feeling Assessment and Satisfaction Questionnaire An experiment was conducted where a sample of 50 people had their vital signs measured. and record the emotions before and after inhaling the herbal inhaler aroma Suan Sunandha Palace recipe, about 10 minutes. and after the end of the sample group, they self-assessed their satisfaction. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, finding frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. and the use of paired t-test statistics. The results of the research found that after inhaling the scent of herbal inhalers, Suan Sunandha Palace Recipe It was found that vital signs (blood pressure and heart rate). The emotions and feelings of the sample group were different from before inhaling the herbal inhalant scent. Suan Sunandha Palace Recipe Statistically significant at the.05 level. But the breathing rate before and after inhaling the herbal inhaler odor Suan Sunandha Palace Recipe was no different, and the average satisfaction score of the sample was at the highest level.

Carbon Sequestration Assessment Using Satellite Data and GIS at Chiang Mai Rajabhat University

This study conducted a project to assess carbon sequestration in the forest area of Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Mae Rim Campus, covering a total area of approximately 5,600 rai, with about 75% consisting of dry dipterocarp forest. The Sentinel-2 satellite data from 2019 to 2023 were used to analyze and classify forest density using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). It was classified into four NDVI levels: highest, high, moderate, and low. Then, eight sample plots were distributed across all density levels to collect field data on tree species, number of trees, height, and diameter. The biomass and carbon sequestration in the sample plots showed a strong correlation with vegetation density, with the highest average correlation in February, particularly on February 13, 2023, showing the highest correlation coefficient of 0.817. This relationship is described by the equation y=78.601x‒25.726, indicating that this model is effective for estimating carbon sequestration. The analysis revealed that the area with the highest NDVI level of dry dipterocarp forest had the highest above-ground carbon sequestration rate of 16.25 tons per rai, whereas the forest with the lowest NDVI level had an above-ground carbon sequestration rate of 0.21 tons per rai. In total, the above-ground carbon sequestration for the trees amounted to 50,907.35 tons. This preliminary assessment serves as a promising foundation for future efforts the conservation and restoration of the university’s forest area, contributing to sustainable strategies for mitigating global warming.

Innovative Research on the Application of Flexible Learning in Classroom Teaching at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Thailand

This article aims to introduce an innovative approach to classroom student participation and academic performance in a flexible learning environment at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University in Thailand. To achieve this goal, a series of theories, concepts, and related research were reviewed and a comprehensive model of relevant factors was constructed. The research design adopted a mixed methods approach, utilizing quantitative research to test the relationships between variables in the model, followed by qualitative research to gain a deeper understanding of how these factors affect students’ grades. Combining the results of quantitative and qualitative research can provide guidance for improving the performance of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University students in flexible learning systems in Thailand.

Results: The finding found that Rajabhat Universities contribute to local development by providing tailored educational programs, conducting targeted research, and forming strong community partnerships. Their comprehensive approach not only addresses immediate regional needs, but also encourages long-term economic, social, and cultural growth. By incorporating sustainable practices and adapting to emerging trends, these universities ensure that their initiatives have a long-term and significant impact on the communities they serve. Conclusion: The findings show that Rajabhat Universities effectively promote local development through tailored education, targeted research, and strong community collaboration. Their strategies not only address current regional needs, but also promote long-term economic, social, and cultural development, ensuring a long-term impact on the communities they serve.

Factors related to Health Literacy in Illness Prevention among Buriram Rajabhat University Students

A health science student is a health personnel with a role in caring, promoting, preventing, and maintaining health, thus they must be literate and knowledgeable about health in order for people to have a good quality of life. The aims of this study were to assess the level of health literacy in illness prevention and to study the relationship between health literacy and illness prevention among nursing students, Faculty of Nursing, and students from the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Science, Buriram Rajabhat University. The data were analyzed using mean, percentage, standard deviation, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results revealed that the overall health literacy in illness prevention of nursing students (average score of 82.46 percent, x̄ =4.12, S.D.= 0.7, very good level) was higher than the public health science students (average score of 79.04 percent, x̄ =3.81, S.D.= 0.72, moderate level). When considering each aspect, it was found that health literacy of most nursing students was at a very good level while for the aspect of changing self-health behavior and the aspect of transmission of information in health care were at moderate levels. As for the health literacy of the public health science students, most of them were at a moderate level while the comprehension of adequate information and health services was at a very good level. In addition, health literacy was positively correlated with illness prevention (r=0.248) which indicated that good health literacy had a positive effect on preventing illness.

Factors Affecting the Adjustment of Pre-Service Teachers, Faculty of Education, Buriram Rajabhat University

This research aimed to 1) study the relationship of factors affecting the adjustment of pre-service teachers in the Faculty of Education, Buriram Rajabhat University, and 2) study the factors affecting the adjustment of pre-service teachers in the Faculty of Education, Buriram Rajabhat University. The sample group consisted of 242 pre-service teachers from the Faculty of Education, Buriram Rajabhat University, selected by simple random sampling. The data collection tool was a 5-point Likert scale questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis included mean, percentage, standard deviation, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression analysis using the Stepwise method. Research findings revealed that 1) the relationship between the factors affecting the adjustment of pre-service teachers in the Faculty of Education, Buriram Rajabhat University had correlation coefficients ranging from 0.442 to 0.703, with all aspects showing statistical significance at the .01 level. The factors most related to adjustment were achievement motivation, followed by peer relationships, and attitude towards learning, respectively, and 2) the factors affecting the adjustment of pre-service teachers in the Faculty of Education that could predict their adjustment were: achievement motivation (β = 0.496, b = .525), peer relationships (β = 0.238, b = .221), and the relationship between mentor teachers and students (β = 0.139, b = .118). These factors could predict the adjustment of pre-service teachers in the Faculty of Education, Buriram Rajabhat University, by 55.60% (R2 = .556, p < .001). The predictive equation in unstandardized scores is Y = 0.461 + 0.525X2 + 0.221X4 + 0.118X5, and the predictive equation in standardized scores is ZY = 0.496ZX2 + 0.238ZX4 + 0.139ZX5.

Effect of smartphone applications on reducing the pain of office syndrome among staff at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University: a quasi-experimental design

Office syndrome is a term used to describe musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) occurring in the workplace. The persistent problem of office syndrome means that constant efforts are required to find a solution. This study was a quasi-experimental investigation. The aim was to examine the impact of a smartphone application on reducing the pain associated with office syndrome in a group of participants. The purposive selection technique was employed to obtain a certain sample group from the staff of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University who spend 6–8 hours per day working on computers and experience pain in their muscles in eight areas, namely the neck, shoulders, back, wrists, waist, hips, legs, and calves. The sample size was 30. The data analysis requires the use of both descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically generalised estimating equations (GEE). The study found that the group of 30 staff at Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University had an average overall pain score of 3.31 (SD = 0.40) at the baseline, which decreased to 2.17 (SD = 0.17) in week 4, and 1.47 (SD = 0.21) at week 8. The comparative analysis of the baseline, week 4, and week 8 revealed a significantly higher average pain level before smartphone application use (baseline) than after weeks 4–8, at the statistical significance level of 0.05. Therefore, the institution should promote the usage of the NotifyOfficeSyndrome application among staff who regularly use computer screens to improve their overall health and eliminate the discomfort associated with office syndrome.

Driving Local Development with Social Engineer Approaches by Rajabhat University Students

Background and Aims: Social Engineering approaches are important for university students because they teach critical skills such as understanding human behavior and managing relationships, both of which are required for effective communication and leadership. These abilities not only improve their academic and professional interactions but also prepare them for real-world challenges by honing their ability to influence and motivate others ethically. This paper aims to explore how Rajabhat University students are utilizing social engineering approaches to drive local development. Methodology: The documentary research approach used in this review provides a thorough analysis of social engineering strategies by reviewing project reports, student records, and stakeholder interviews. This methodology combines thematic, comparative, and impact assessments to provide a thorough understanding of the effectiveness and challenges of these initiatives. Results: The finding found that Rajabhat University's student-led initiatives have significantly influenced local development by improving community health, promoting environmental sustainability, and preserving cultural heritage. The "Community Health Awareness Campaign" increased health literacy and community engagement, whereas the "Green Campus Initiative" improved environmental practices and reduced waste. The "Local Art and Culture Festival" helped to strengthen cultural ties while also providing valuable event management experience. Despite these accomplishments, challenges such as engaging hard-to-reach populations, sustaining participation, and managing logistics necessitated strategic solutions. Overall, these initiatives demonstrate the importance of student involvement in promoting community development and provide valuable insights for future projects. Conclusion: The findings show that Rajabhat University's student-led initiatives have had a significant impact on local development, including improved health, environmental sustainability, and cultural preservation. These efforts highlight the importance of student engagement in driving community progress and provide valuable lessons for future endeavors.

Development of STEAM activity “Eco-Friendly Straw” based science learning kit to examine students’ basic science process skills

To response the calls of reducing single-use plastic consumption, scientists are increasingly interested in exploring alternatives to plastic for making drinking straws. Many commercial eco-friendly drinking straws are made using several raw materials namely paper, wheat, or rice. These involve complex machinery process and advanced technology that are too complicate for students to learn applying skills and knowledge in implementation. One of alternatives is the straw from nature innovation of Sakon Nakhon Rajabhat University (SNRU). It uses flours as raw materials and relies on basic science knowledge of polymer. The innovation has been simplified as an affordable science learning kit for students learning science through making edible drinking straws without using machine and chemical contained. This study developed a STEAM activity “Eco-Friendly Straw” based the science learning kit to examine students’ basic science process skills (BSPS). The STEAM activity consisted of four sections corresponding to six-procedure engineering design process (EDP). The samples were 120 students from secondary school and high school levels with 60 people per level. The students’ group worksheets and produced drinking straws were analyzed and revealed that BSPS performance of the high school students was higher. The art discipline of the STEAM activity was found fostering learning engagement of the students whose BSPS scores were low. The change of pre-test to post-test on polymer of both student levels was found a significant difference. The satisfaction of the secondary school students was higher. Guidance for teachers interested applying this STEAM activity to their classrooms is provided.

Translanguaging Practices and Perception of Tertiary Lecturers and Learners in Thailand: A Case Study at Buriram Rajabhat University

Translanguaging refers to the practice of utilizing several languages and various forms of communication to create knowledge and encourage the use of multiple modes of language education. This study aims to investigate the tertiary lecturers’ and students’ translanguaging practice and their perception of using classroom translanguaging. The sample consisted of 30 lecturers and 60 students from the English Program, Business English Program. Education English, and other programs, Buriram Rajabhat University, Thailand. They were selected using the purposive sampling method.The tools were a questionnaire survey and a semi-structured interview. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed using the frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The interview was analyzed utilizing qualitative content analysis. According to the assessments of three experts, the research instruments obtained an IOC score of 0.67. The findings from the first objective indicated that the lecturers had a positive attitude towards the use of translanguaging in their teaching, as shown by the average score of 4.12. In addition, the students expressed their support for the incorporation of translanguaging in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom, as indicated by the overall average score of 4.22. The results from the second objective indicated that the lecturers strongly supported the notion of integrating translanguaging in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) course, with the mean score of 4.13, Similarly, all of the students reached a consensus to incorporate translanguaging in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom, with the average score of 4.22. In addition, the analysis of the interview responses revealed that both the lecturers and students held similar perspectives on the use of translanguaging in the EFL classroom. The findings of this study will offer a thorough foundation for formulating a future plan and strategy on English language instructions in the specific context of Thailand.

Enhancing University Students’ English Competence for Communication through the Whole Language Approach

This research consisted of 4 objectives. They were to 1) examine the English listening and speaking competence of NRRU students, 2) compare NRRU University students’ English listening and speaking competence scores before and after the treatment with the criterion of 70%, 3)examine English reading and writing competence of NRRU students, and 4)compare NRRU University students’ English reading and writing competence scores before and after the treatment with the criterion of 70%. The population in this study consisted of 100 learners from Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University. Samples consisted of 50 learners from Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University. Samples were selected through purposive sampling random. Six weeks were spent on this research. The instruments were (1) the questionnaire related to students’ problems with English instruction, (2) classroom observation, (3) a semi-structured interview, and (4) an English-speaking ability test. The scores of English competence for communication through the Whole Language Approach were analyzed and interpreted statistically in terms of mean (xˉ), standard deviation (S.D.), and t-test (pre-test and post-test) with the criterion of 70%.The study results showed that most students scored much higher on the English reading, writing, listening, and speaking competence post-test than on the English competency pre-test. Students’ post-test English reading, writing, listening, and speaking competency scores were substantially higher than the threshold of 70% at the .05 level.

Innovative approach to full-service participatory occupational group development for the elderly in Bangkok, Thailand

This research aims to investigate an innovative approach to comprehensive participatory occupational group development for the elderly in Wat Pracharabuedham Community 1-4. The goal is to reduce inequality in urban communities. The study used participatory action research (PAR) and community-based research (CBR) methods to collect data. The study included 77 participants: 19 public health volunteers, 20 elderly individuals, 5 community leaders, 10 teachers and students, 3 officials from the Dusit District Community Development and Social Welfare Department in Bangkok, and 20 lecturers and students from Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. The research findings identified the key components of urban communities as households, temples, and schools, referred to as the “H-T-S Ecosystem.” In this urban setting, working adults leave early and return late from work. During the day, grandparents managed household chores, cared for children, and monitored the community. However, the elderly did not want to burden their children and wished to contribute additional income to their families and communities. Despite this, they lacked the knowledge to develop community products. To address this issue, the research introduced a full-service herbal product called “Phaya Yor Green Oil.” This product enabled the elderly to support themselves without government assistance, leading to improved urban quality of life and increased community income through self-sufficiency.

ORGANISATION CARBON FOOTPRINT ASSESSMENT AND GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTION EMISSION OF YALA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY, THAILAND

This research aims to study carbon footprint assessment and the guidelines for reducing greenhouse gas emissions at the Yala Rajabhat University in southern Thailand. Data was collected from January to December 2020 for evaluating greenhouse gas emissions. The methodology followed the guidelines of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organisation (Public Organisation). The greenhouse gas emissions can be classified into three categories: (1) Direct GHG emissions, (2) electricity indirect GHG emissions, and (3) other indirect GHG emissions. The results showed that Scope 2 indirect greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption had the highest amount of greenhouse gas emissions at 1,625,941.82 kilogrammes of carbon dioxide equivalent (kgCO2 e/year). Amount of greenhouse gas emissions were 182,144.76 and 28,545.71 kgCO2 e/year for Scope 3 and Scope 1, respectively. Guidelines for reducing greenhouse gas emissions electricity consumption of the Yala Rajabhat University urgently needed. To reduce the amount of carbon footprint. This can be done in the form of (1) energy management, including reducing electricity use, (2) solid waste management using the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principle, and (3) fuel efficiency and renewable energy adoption.

Music Curriculum in Higher Education that is Consistent with Student Development in the 21st Century: Empirical Data from Rajabhat University in Thailand

The curriculum is important in setting the directions of teaching and learning activities and developing students to have knowledge and ability which lead to success. This research focuses on the study of music curriculum development and student development with the objectives: 1. To analyze the music curriculum in higher education 2. To study structures and learning outcomes of music curriculum in higher education in student development according to the 21st century skills and 3. To develop music curriculum in higher education to respond to changes in the 21st century. The research scope is to study Rajabhat University group in Thailand by analyzing data from the curriculum structures and learning outcomes. The correctness and suitability are assessed by using EDFR technique for 2 rounds to confirm the data and use it to create a questionnaire to organize a group discussion (focus group). The study shows that the music curriculum in Rajabhat University has a total of 127-140 credits throughout the curriculum, which is in line with the standards for undergraduate programs, with a total of not less than 120 credits. The learning outcomes of music curriculum of Rajabhat University have 6 learning outcomes which are consistent with the standard qualifications of higher education. It is also found that developing the curriculum to be consistent with changes in the 21st century must be created with outstanding points and unique identity and set clear goals for developing students to have knowledge and skills consistent with the needs of Thai and global contexts.

Innovative Leadership of Educational Institution Administrators at Dhonburi Rajabhat University

Background and Aim: The objectives of this research are 1. To study the innovative leadership of educational institution administrators. Thonburi Rajabhat University and 2. To compare the innovative leadership of educational institution administrators. Thonburi Rajabhat University Classified by work experience and educational qualification This research is a survey research. Materials and Methods: The population used in this research is teaching staff. Educational institution administrators Thonburi Rajabhat University, in the academic year 2023, numbering 270 people. The sample group is 127 teachers and administrators of the Thonburi Rajabhat University in the academic year 2022. The sample size was determined using the table. Cransy and Morgan Using stratified sampling. According to the proportion of the sample until the specified amount is reached The research method has 4 steps: 1) Study the research problem. 2) research design 3) Data collection 4) Analyze data writing a research report The tool used to collect data is a 5-level estimation questionnaire. Statistics used in data analysis include: 1) Frequency Percent 2) Mean 3) Standard Deviation 4) Test the hypothesis by using a t-test. Results: The research results found that the Innovative leadership of educational institution administrators at Thonburi Rajabhat University found that Overall is at a high level in comparison to the innovative leadership of school administrators. The Effect of Using the Contemplative Approach to Enhance Speaking and Critical Thinking Skills in the EFL Undergraduate Literature Classroom

This research study explored the effect of using the contemplative approach to enhance speaking skills and critical thinking skills in the EFL literature classroom which aimed to 1) investigate English speaking skills and 2) investigate students’ critical thinking skills in the EFL literature classroom. This research study applied a mixed-method research design. Data collection was conducted in both qualitative and quantitative formats. Instruments were an English speaking test, a critical thinking test, classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and a reflective journal. The sample group was eleven second-year students of the English studies major who enrolled in the literary adaptation course in the second semester of the academic year 2022 at Chiang Rai Rajabhat University, Thailand by purposive sampling with the volunteers who were interviewed and joined the activities. The quantitative data was analyzed by descriptive statistics while the qualitative data was classified, analyzed, and reported by the objective items. The findings indicate that contemplative approaches can significantly enhance students' English-speaking skills. Although the results suggest that participating in contemplative activities did not have a statistically significant impact on the participants' critical thinking abilities, a slight improvement was observed in their critical thinking skills.

Forecasting Energy Consumption from EV Station Charging Using RNN, LSTM and GRU Neural Network

The increase in electric vehicles (EVs) has resulted in a substantial escalation in electricity consumption. This increased demand puts more stress on the overall power system. The current study offers a method to predict energy usage patterns by looking closely at when electric vehicles typically need to charge during the day. After that, the collected data were used to create a predictive model using three different deep learning methods: Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), Long Short-Term Memory networks (LSTMs), and Gated Recurrent Units (GRUs). This study employs data pertaining to electric power consumption for EVs charging derived from Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University. The practical results show that the proposed model significantly outperforms in predicting power needs at the mentioned charging spots. This is evident in its precise prediction of the total power demands using the algorithm. Among the three types of deep learning structures studied, it's clear that the LSTMs type stands out as the best, achieving the most accurate results. This is supported by a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.372 and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 11.508%. Additionally, the inquiry facilitates a comprehensive comparison between the dynamics of demand and the parameters of supply. This process yields data that offers valuable insights crucial for the strategic identification of potential electric vehicle charging stations. It also enables the prudent utilization of remaining electrical capacity derived from production processes. These combined efforts converge to ensure the utmost extraction of utility.
