Manajemen Kualitas dalam Meningkatkan Efisiensi Proses Bisnis Perusahaan

In an era of increasingly fierce business competition, companies are required to improve efficiency in every business process. One of the crucial aspects that can support efficiency is the implementation of proper quality management. Quality management is a systematic approach to managing and improving the quality of products, services, and processes in an organization, with the goal of meeting customer expectations and achieving optimal efficiency. This research explores various quality management approaches such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO 9001. This approach has a focus on continuous improvement, elimination of waste, and increased customer satisfaction. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the implementation of these models in improving the efficiency of the company's business processes. The results of the assessment from the media expert, Mr. Muhammad Ikhwan, S.Pd., M.Pd showed the feasibility of the media with an average score of 92.17%, while the assessment of the material expert, Mrs. Nurul Isnaeni, S.Pd, obtained an average of 96.19%, with the category of "Very Feasible" for all aspects. This study proves that Powtoon-based learning media is effective and feasible to use in the context of education.

Hacia una convivencia democrática: El desafío de repensar ciudadanamente la formación y gestión de dos escuelas chilenas

Purpose. This article analyzes and discusses the scope, in terms of citizenship learning, that stems from the definitions of ‘management’ provided by two public schools in Chile. Method. The research employed a quantitative methodology with a descriptive scope. The sampling was intentional, involving 73 students, 28 teachers, and 6 assistants. Data were collected through a survey and documentary analysis and were analyzed using SPSS software. Results. Schools primarily based their decisions on a bureaucratic and total quality management approach. Meanwhile, they declared a maximalist conception of citizenship education, but its pedagogical implementation was reduced to fragmented actions with limited participation and an emphasis on results. Conclusions. It is proposed to rethink and transform management processes at both micro and macro levels to facilitate the formation and experience of democratic citizenship in schools. Since these processes mutually influence each other, it is recommended to design proposals with the educational community rather than distancing from it.

Post-acquisition transformation challenges: how did the change in ownership affect Soni Manipal Hospital, Jaipur, in the early years?

A brief overview of the teaching case Mr Sharma, the dynamic and entrepreneurial Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the newly formed Soni Manipal Hospital (SMH), Jaipur, and Unit Head, Manipal Hospitals [Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt Ltd. (MHEPL)], in a meeting with SMH’s Head of Human Resources and the Head of the Nursing Management, Mr Yaduvanshi realised the exponential growth of employee resistance, their lack of skills and technological advancements for documentation hindering the hospital's transformation goal. The case study highlighted the challenges the protagonist faced when taking charge as the CEO after nine months of acquisition and the factors contributing to them. Expected learning outcomes Students reading this case are expected to understand leadership theories, strategic and quality management approaches, and theories of social behaviour, such as Herzberg’s two-factor theory and social exchange theory (SET) and the application of these concepts in acquired organisations to develop healthy leadership–employee relations and change management theories. THE ROLE OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN INCREASING ORGANIZATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS IN THE CONTEXT OF UNIVERSITIES

In the face of rapid change and increasing complexity in higher education, quality management (QM) is emerging as a useful tool for universities to adapt and optimize their processes. This paper emphasizes the importance of implementing effective QM systems in academic institutions, highlighting their significant impact on organizational effectiveness. The research aims to investigate how QM implementation can enhance efficiency within universities. It achieves this by analyzing current QM practices, identifying areas needing improvement, and proposing specific solutions. The study reveals a diverse range of QM approaches across institutions, reflecting their unique structures and processes. While many universities have initiated QM systems, the success and coverage of these initiatives vary. Key areas identified for potential improvement include decision-making transparency, interdepartmental communication, and the integration of student feedback. The research also highlights gaps, such as the lack of systematic QM implementation, unclear performance indicators, and difficulties adapting to rapid changes in higher education. The overarching message of this paper is that a well-implemented QM system can be a strategic asset for universities, supporting both academic and administrative processes. QM implementation has been shown to increase organizational efficiency, leading to improved academic processes, reduced administrative costs, and increased satisfaction among students and staff. The research findings underscore the need for continued investment and commitment to QM in higher education. By embracing QM principles and practices, universities can enhance their overall performance, adapt to evolving challenges, and provide a higher-quality educational experience. This research not only contributes to the existing knowledge base on QM in higher education but also provides practical recommendations for institutions seeking to improve their organizational effectiveness.

Quality management model of Chinese higher vocational graduates in Yunnan province

China’s graduate quality management system is designed to ensure that students possess the necessary skills, knowledge, and competencies for future success. This system is rooted in China’s ambitious educational reforms aimed at cultivating a highly skilled workforce to drive economic growth and innovation. Effective graduate quality management significantly impacts employment levels, training models, and national policy formulation. This study investigates the quality management approaches of 56 vocational institutions in Yunnan Province using a 5-level questionnaire and a quantitative research methodology. A sample of 556 individuals was selected through stratified random sampling. Exploratory factor analysis identified five primary components of the quality management model: College graduate quality (mean = 4.56, SD = 0.49), teaching quality (mean = 4.39, SD = 0.42), hardware environment (mean = 4.38, SD = 0.44), social support (mean = 4.37, SD = 0.42), and job satisfaction (mean = 4.38, SD = 0.42). College graduate quality and teaching quality were the most influential factors, while hardware environment, social support, and job satisfaction had lesser impacts.

Driving sustainability in industry 5.0 through sociotechnical approach of quality management

Industry 4.0 is primarily driven by technology, while Industry 5.0 (I5.0) places more emphasis on the interaction between human (socio) and technology (technical) aspects in shaping sustainability. Although I5.0 represents a burgeoning area of research, however, there remains a paucity of research on the sociotechnical perspective of quality management (QM) and sustainability in I5.0. This study intends to investigate the direct and indirect effects of socio-technical components of QM on sustainable performance through agile manufacturing, as well as the moderating role of firm size on these relationships. Data is gathered from 298 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) through a survey approach employing proportionate stratified sampling techniques. The findings support the socio-technical view of QM in Industry 5.0. Unexpectedly, employee education and training has no significant role in enhancing technical QM practices. Furthermore, QM and agile manufacturing are crucial to achieving sustainable performance in manufacturing SMEs. Finally, firm size has played a significant role as a moderating variable, particularly in I5.0. Based on the findings, the study offers novel theoretical contributions and practical implications by shedding light on the nuanced role of QM and agile manufacturing on sustainability within Malaysian manufacturing SMEs.

Application of multi-criteria group decision-making for water quality management.

As waste discharge into numerous river systems escalates, the pollution of water bodies typically rises. Given the limited capacity of rivers to withstand pollution and their constrained self-cleaning capabilities, treated pollutants from waste discharge must be released into the river. Despite numerous models and algorithms proposed for managing river water quality to meet standards, literature, to our awareness, lacks the utilization of a comprehensive multi-criteria group decision-making approach for water quality management, particularly in river systems. Therefore, this research introduces a new, comprehensive multi-criteria group decision-making for the management of water quality in the Haraz River basin, located in Iran. To do so, the water quality of the basin, a one-dimensional water quality model, QUAL2Kw, was employed to simulate and calibrate the water quality along the river. The simulation results revealed that the downstream water quality violates the water quality standards. To mitigate this issue, various scenarios for waste load allocation (WLA) were evaluated, including no wastewater treatment, primary wastewater treatment, advanced secondary wastewater treatment utilizing the activated sludge (AS) method, and advanced wastewater treatment via the membrane bioreactor (MBR) method. Utilizing the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Fuzzy TOPSIS group decision-making model, it was determined that the optimal solution was the implementation of secondary wastewater treatment utilizing the activated sludge method for the 11 PS of pollution, while still adhering to Iranian water quality standard. In addition, the findings of the present study indicate that the implementation of primary wastewater treatment, advanced secondary wastewater treatment utilizing AS, and advanced wastewater treatment through MBR within the study area led to a significant enhancement in water quality. This enhancement ranged from 35 to 105% across various scenarios when compared to conditions where no actions were taken to the treatment of water.

Optimizing cost of quality in commercial projects using fuzzy expert system

ABSTRACT Previous studies on the Cost of Quality (COQ) have focused on direct costs, employing prevention, appraisal, and failure costs (PAF). However, the advent of ISO 9001–2015] edition underscores the importance of the risk approach in quality management, necessitating the inclusion of project risks in COQ calculation. This paper introduces a prototype Fuzzy Expert System (FES) model tailored for determining optimal COQ in commercial projects while accounting for project risks. Using the means of the Prevention - Appraisal - Failure model and utilizing data gathered from prior research and validated through official questionnaires and interviews, this study assigns weights to quality risks and allocates them to respective COQ components. Risks such as inadequate planning, coordination issues, construction errors, and delays are identified as influential factors affecting COQ. Our findings suggest that COQ in commercial projects typically amounts to approximately five percent of the project budget. Validation of the prototype Fuzzy Expert System achieved through application to five actual cases (including two for system familiarization and three for validation), demonstrates an accuracy rate of 95%. The prototype Fuzzy Expert System emerges as a valuable tool for COQ evaluation, serving as a reliable checkpoint for individuals with varying levels of expertise in the field.

Human Capital Efficiency and Firm Performance of Quality-Certified Firms from EFQM Excellence Model: A Dynamic Panel Data Study

Abstract Purpose The study’s main purpose is to investigate the impacts of human capital efficiency (HCE) on the firm performance of non-certified and quality-certified firms from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model. The study also examines the relationship between firm performance and quality-certificates from the European Foundation. Design/methodology/approach By using a sample of 282 non-certified and 22 quality-certified firms from 2017 to 2021, the current study employed a two-step system generalized method of moments (GMM) estimation to analyse the empirical data. The dummy variable is used to examine the relationship between quality-certificates and firm performance. The dummy interaction term is employed to quantify the impacts of HCE on the firm’s performance for quality-certified firms. Findings The results revealed that quality-certificates and firm performance have a positive relationship. Quality-certified firms perform better and earn more profits than non-certified firms. HCE has a positive impact on firm performance for both types of firms. Moreover, the quality-certified firms utilize HCE in an efficient way to earn more profits compared to the non-certified firms. Originality This is the first study to use a comprehensive analysis to emphasize the HCE for non-certified and quality-certified firms separately. The effects of quality-certificates on firm performance in the context of HCE are also being highlighted for the first time in this research. Practical implications The current study’s findings are fruitful for academics, managers, researchers, policymakers, and other firm management. The findings will encourage the management of the firms to implement the total quality management (TQM) approach within their firms.

Implementation quality management systems in the electrical distribution contractors in Oman: An exploratory case study

The exploratory case study examined Oman's power distribution contractors' quality management systems (QMS). The research sought to understand how electrical distribution contractors see QMS and auditing barriers and facilitators. The survey interviewed Oman's electricity distribution business professionals. Sixteen electrical workers in Oman were interviewed. Interviews highlighted electrical distribution contractors' QMS and audit challenges. Interviews also addressed QMS and auditing success factors. The analysis shows that electricity distribution companies must address safety, quality, and power outages. ISO standards (International Standardization Organization) provide quality management and reduce risks. Quality training and QMS awareness are also stressed by the outcomes. The research found that group meetings can solve implementation issues and foster a collaborative quality management approach. These meetings allow for problem-solving, best practices, and networking. This research may help develop strategies and academic studies to standardize QMS in Oman's electrical distribution business.

Analysis of the Implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) in Improving Employee Performance at PT Permata Bank Cibubur Branch

A company is an organization operated by the people within it to achieve the company's objectives. To achieve product quality, the implementation of an efficient management system is necessary, serving as both a tool for improving company performance and a measure of employee performance. The company's focus is not only limited to the quality of the products produced but also covers aspects such as processes, human resources, and the environment. Therefore, it is important to include the measurement of productive behavior of employees and to be based on quality improvement, which is also grounded in human resource development. This research is qualitative in nature. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The theory applied in this research is the Quality Management Theory. The research results indicate that the company's performance in providing quality products and services in the era of globalization is continuously increasing, both in terms of human skills, processes, and the environment. Perceived Service Quality at Higher Education Institutions: A Study on the Success Factors of Total Quality Management Practices in Bangladesh

The Total Quality Management (TQM) approach has gained significant attention in the Higher Education (HE) sectors worldwide, originating in the United States in the mid-1980s to drive continuous improvement within higher education institutions (HEIs). While TQM has been widely embraced in developed nations to evaluate service quality in HEIs, its application in developing countries remains relatively unexplored and fragmented. This study aims to fill this gap by investigating students' perceived service quality in HEIs in Bangladesh using the TQM approach. Data collected from 384 respondents across four established public universities in Bangladesh were analyzed using partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) and SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings underscore significant barriers to service quality perception at HEIs in Bangladesh, including a deficient learning environment, ineffective student relationship management, student dissatisfaction, limited student involvement, and inadequate student focus. Therefore, addressing these challenges is crucial for policymakers and practitioners to maintain service quality standards and improve educational outcomes at HEIs in developing countries.

Analysis of total quality management (TQM) implementation in the biotechnology industry

Over the past two decades, the relevance of the Total Quality Management (TQM) model has increased significantly. TQM is becoming increasingly popular as organizations focus more on improving the quality of their products, services, and internal operations to increase customer value and gain competitive advantage. Organizations from the biotechnology sector play a significant role in the development of the national economy, the social sphere and employment. In such a situation, they face strong competitive advantages of competitors from all over the world, such as low costs and high productivity. The change in the amount of added value alone over the last 10 years leads to an increase of 35.2% per year. In 2009 is BGN 12 million, and in 2019 is BGN 208 million. That is why it is critical for them to improve their organizational performance through the Total Quality Management (TQM) approach. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the individual components of TQM in organizations from the field of biotechnology and food industry and to determine its model in terms of engineering activities. Pre-designed questionnaires were used as a data collection instrument in the present study. Conducting semi-structured interviews with team leaders in a biotech manufacturing organization provides insight into the impact of TQM on competitiveness. These elements, leadership skills and supplier/customer relationships have been found to play an important role in improving overall performance.

ESG 생태계와 지속가능성보고서 검증 표준 발전 동향에 관한 연구

The information in the Sustainability Report, covering Environment (E), Social (S), and Governance (G), serves as a crucial reference for stakeholders in the ESG ecosystem, enabling effective decision-making. Consequently, companies bear the responsibility to transparently explain their performance, plans, risks, and opportunities to the capital market. To achieve this, ESG information must adhere to standardized criteria, ensuring comparability across different companies, industries, and nations, and be verifiable by independent third parties.
 Recently, there has been an accelerated global discussion on mandating the disclosure of ESG information. Legal disclosure of ESG information must be grounded in high reliability. When ESG information disclosure activities fall within a legal framework, disclosure actors may be subject to the same level of standardization as business reports. Currently, domestic companies engaging in voluntary assurance will likely require recognized service providers in the future ESG disclosure system.
 This study aimed to derive the qualifications of assurance service providers and propose a quality management approach applicable to the ESG ecosystem. To achieve this, we examined the global ESG ecosystem structure, focusing on the roles and functions of ESG information disclosure standards setters, assurance providers, and evaluators. We also analyzed the characteristics of assurance practices. By researching the qualifications and quality management requirements of assurance providers concerning mandatory ESG information disclosure, we identified the assurance practice standards necessary for improving ESG disclosure quality.
 Assurance service providers should establish business processes in line with global assurance standards and guidance, meeting ethics and quality management standards equivalent to accounting firms. Furthermore, assurance practitioners should possess specified qualifications and practical experience, being recognized for their expertise in the ESG field. The assurance supporting the domestic ESG disclosure mandate should evolve into a public activity open to anyone with suitable qualifications, fostering development.

고등교육 질 관리를 위한 수업컨설팅 프로그램 운영 현황과 과제

This study analyzes domestic university Centers for Teaching and Learning (CTL) instructional consulting programs to improve higher education quality. We explore avenues for enhancement, emphasizing a universal approach for overall quality management. The research includes a detailed examination of a 4-year university's CTL instructional consulting program. First, in our survey of university instructional consulting programs, we found that every university operates a similar program. Secondly, we found shortcomings in domestic university instructional consulting programs, including insufficient support for self-instructional and lesson plan consulting, as well as distinct variations in content for target-specific consulting and a lack of systematic management. Thirdly, for effective instructional consulting program operation, we suggest three tasks: streamline program designs, offer personalized promotional services for professors, and establish/utilize a robust consulting system.

Analysis of the potential development of defense industry policies with the Total Quality Management (TQM) approach at PT. PAL

This article discusses the analysis of potential defense industry policy development with the Total Quality Management (TQM) approach. The defense industry plays an important role in maintaining the security and sovereignty of a country. In the face of increasingly complex and dynamic security challenges, the product quality and competitiveness of the defense industry must be continuously improved. TQM has proven effective in improving performance and quality in various industrial sectors. This approach emphasizes continuous quality improvement and involves all members of the organization in process and product improvement. In the context of the defense industry, TQM is becoming increasingly relevant to achieve industrial independence and improve competitiveness in the global market. This research uses literature study, data analysis, and case studies of defense industries in several countries. This data is used to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in developing the defense industry with a TQM approach. The results of this analysis are expected to contribute to policy makers and defense industry management in formulating strategies to improve the independence, efficiency and overall quality of the defense industry. By exploring the potential for developing defense industry policies with a TQM approach, the country can strengthen its defense capabilities, increase the contribution of the defense industry in supporting national security, and face the future with greater confidence and resilience. By exploring the potential of integrating the TQM approach into defense industry policies, this research strives to fortify a nation's defense capabilities. It also seeks to amplify the defense industry's role in bolstering national security. Consequently, this comprehensive analysis offers a blueprint for a future that promises increased self-assuredness and resilience, enabling the country to navigate evolving security challenges with confidence and adeptness.

P042 Lean Six Sigma Approach to Improve Non-Invasive Ventilation Patient Care

Abstract Introduction A lean six-sigma (LSS) approach to clinical redesign looks at aspects of patient flow, value to consumer and process inefficiencies. We used LSS quality management approach for clinical redesign of our non-invasive ventilation patient care. Current recommendations suggest that patients using non-invasive ventilation (NIV) require therapy for a minimum of 4 hours per night for optimal health benefits, with less than this amount defined as low adherence. This information is collated for each patient at each clinic visit. The aims of this study were to improve the identification of patients on non-invasive ventilation that are poorly adherent to paediatric specialist support, decrease the time taken for entry of NIV adherence data for all patients and evaluate process/es for scalability for future growth. Methods A LSS approach was used with identification of variation, waste and patient flow concerns in diagnostic stage. Rapid improvement events, diagnostic and solution design workshops were conducted to determine root cause, key issues and possible solutions. A preferred solution was adopted through team collaboration. Results A diagnostic stage identified two key areas: a 45% increase in telehealth and 162 man-hours of manual data entry for patient care. The solution initiated was to extract NIV machine data remotely and automate data collection. Discussion Healthcare is well suited to using the lean six-sigma approach to facilitate team collaboration in all aspects of clinical redesign of a healthcare pathway. Automating aspects of patient care may improve patient health and staff satisfaction.

The sugar industry has a vital role in Indonesia. However, faces several challenges such as low quality, low productivity and inability to fulfil domestic demand. Certain corrective actions are necessary to make the industry more competitive. The supply chain quality management (SCQM) approach is expected to increase the productivity and competitiveness of sugar industry. This research aimed to formulate an SCQM approach on company competitiveness which suitable for sugar companies and analyze the effect of SCQM to company competitiveness using the structural equation modelling. By using Smart-PLS 4.0, the results showed that 49.1% of company competitiveness is influenced by organizational quality, Organizational quality is influenced by customer focus, supplier quality management, the effectiveness of the IT system, and leadership which are variables of SCQM. The SCQM approach significantly influences the competitiveness of sugar companies in being able to lead the competition, improve product quality, adapt to changes, reduce production costs, and gain loyal customers. Process integration shows a positive influence on organizational quality, which enhances future company competitiveness. Penelitian ini berangkat dari kegelisahan akademik. Karena pendidikan belakangan ini menjadi sorotan tersindiri dikalangan akademisi, seiring konflik pendididikan di Indonesia dinamika perubahan harus di ikhtiarkan agar pendidikan secara terus menerus dikembangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode studi kepustakaan atau literatur review. Fokus penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana model pengembangan mutu pendidikan melalui Total Quality Manajemen (TQM) sebagai konsep pengembangan Pendidikan? dan analisis konflik pendidikan sebagai implementasi pengembangan pendidikan melalui pendekatan Total Quality Manajemen (TQM). Hasil penelitian ini model pendekatan Total Quality menekankan pada aspek keterlibatan aktif dan penuh komitmen serta konsistensi tinggi dari seluruh anggota organisasi terutama pada aspek pendidikan. Total Quality Management (TQM) dalam pendidikan sebagai alat untuk digunakan sebagai tawaran untuk melakukan upaya pengemabangan pendidikan melalui berbagai struktur yang termuat dalam lembaga tersebut.
