This research undertakes a comprehensive literature review to analyze output-based quality assurance in Islamic educational institutions. The study systematically reviews scholarly articles published between 2019 and 2023, focusing on quality assurance and educational institution outputs. The findings highlight the pivotal roles of vision and mission alignment, strategic program implementation, robust facilities, and the cultivation of academically and competitively adept graduates. Key outcomes from the review include the importance of effective communication in achieving Islamic institutional goals, the significance of academic and non-academic flagship programs, and the criticality of a strong teaching and learning process. The study also reveals the efficacy of integrating strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and a balance of academic excellence and character development in enhancing educational quality. Despite its comprehensive nature, the research acknowledges limitations in its scope, primarily its reliance on existing literature, which may not encompass all possible educational contexts. Future research should explore diverse educational settings further and assess the long-term impacts of quality assurance strategies on student outcomes and Islamic institutional reputation. This study significantly contributes to the discourse on educational quality assurance, advocating for comprehensive, adaptable, and inclusive strategies in response to the evolving demands of the educational landscape.

The role of higher education and institutional quality for carbon neutrality: Evidence from emerging economies

Economic development is frequently held accountable for environmental degradation, a situation that is particularly dire in E-7 economies. This problem is further exacerbated by inadequate education on its repercussions. Previous studies have explored various socioeconomic determinants of CO2 emissions, but the effects of education and institutional quality remain underexplored. Using data from 1995 to 2020 for E-7 economies, this study fills the gap by investigating the link between higher education, institutional quality, and CO2 emissions, factoring in R&D's role. Our findings reveal that better education and improved institutional quality significantly decrease emissions, a trend most pronounced in countries with stronger institutions. Interestingly, the role of R&D in emissions diverges based on institutional quality, showing a positive correlation in countries with lower and a negative correlation in higher institutional quality. The findings highlight the significance of quality education and robust institutions for carbon mitigation, offering critical insights for future sustainability research.

Leadership In Developing A Culture Of Quality (Case Study In Madrasah Aliyah Negeri Lamongan)

Quality human resources are becoming crucial in an era of globalization. Quality human resources are produced by quality educational institutions and led by the head of the madrasah, which consistently improves the quality of madrasas. Therefore, to improve the quality of the madrasah, it is necessary to build a culture of quality. Leadership plays an important role in shaping a solid madrasa culture of quality. Based on the above considerations, the study aims to (1) describe the leadership style of the Madrasa in developing a quality madrasa culture, (2) describe the leadership steps of the head of the madrasas in the development of a quality madrasah culture, (3) describe a cultural reality of the quality of Madrasa, (4) explain the efforts of the leader of the Madrasa in removing resistance to the quality culture development. This type of research is field research with a qualitative approach using case studies and data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations of participants, and documentation. Analysis of research results shows that (1) the main madrasa style in developing a quality culture has five leadership styles: charismatic, democratic, participatory, deliberative, and aggressive. It's adapted to the situation and conditions. (2) Leadership steps in developing a culture of quality madrasa: (a) the head of the Madrasa articulates the vision and mission of impact on improving the quality culture of Madrasa. (b) The head of the Madrasa has the values of leadership that are believed to be translated into the life of the organization of the madrasas. (c) the symbol is a description of the organizational values that rained and preserved and reflect the uniqueness of the Madrasas; (d) the process of development of a quality culture passes through four stages, namely the preparation phase, the acceptance phases, the implementation phases and the commitment phases. (3) The cultural reality of the quality of MAN Lamongan is related to the values of the institution and the leadership of the head of the Madrasa in promoting relations with the staff. (4) The individual teacher's resistance exists in developing a culture of madrasa-quality. The head of the Madrasa's efforts in dealing with the resistance of the people of Madrasa used a preventive and healing approach.

Improving the quality of Geography Teacher Education through Geographical Information Systems and Self-Directed Learning

Quality education in institutions of higher learning is vital in the contemporary world. Although some studies have been conducted on quality education in higher education, no study has focused on the enhancement of quality education through the inclusion of geographical information systems (GIS) as a tool and self-directed learning (SDL) skills in geography teachers’ education where Dewey’s theory of education was applied. This study applies a systematic review to examine the connectivity between teaching through GIS and the enhancement of SDL skills in geography teachers’ education. The study also discusses how the inclusion of GIS and SDL skills in geography teachers’ education at university helps to enhance quality education. Results of studies indicate that there is a connection between GIS, SDL, and the enhancement of quality education in geography teachers’ education. The study thus recommends that GIS and SDL skills should be included in teacher education for student teachers to be productive in society.

Integrated Quality Management as an Effort to Improve the Quality of the Catering Department at SMK Negeri 3 Malang

Quality educational institutions are those that continuously improve the quality of their education. This education should be given from an early age, because at an early age it is necessary to develop creativity in students. The purpose of this study was to examine the analysis of integrated quality management at SMK Negeri 3 Malang with Total Quality Management (TQM). In this study we used a research method with a qualitative approach. The data collection technique used was by giving a questionnaire to the principal of SMK Negeri 3 Malang. The results of this study are researchers analyzing how the integrated quality management process works with TOM, to understand how SMK Negeri 3 Malang seeks to apply the principle of providing customer satisfaction, what are the special programs at SMK Negeri 3 Malang as a form of optimal service, and superior accreditation as a form of principle continuous institutional improvement at SMK Negeri 3 Malang, which illustrates that the implementation of integrated quality management in SMK education institutions in early childhood is very necessary in supporting continuous improvement.

Management of educational facilities and infrastructure contributes to success in the learning process optimally. Educational facilities and infrastructure support the development of superior and quality educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the management of facilities and infrastructure in developing the quality of education. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, through an ethnographic approach. The results of this study indicate that the analysis of the needs for educational facilities and infrastructure is carried out in the planning process and analysis related to the needs for facilities and infrastructure in learning, financing analysis is carried out to meet the needs for purchasing facilities and infrastructure using reasonable funds according to needs, Procurement of educational facilities and infrastructure in accordance with the needs of the ongoing learning process, maintenance of educational facilities is a shared responsibility by all school members, facilities and infrastructure that are not used during the learning process still require maintenance without damaging the quality of these facilities. The conclusion of this study is that the factors that support the inventory of educational facilities and infrastructure include cooperation and adequate facilities so that the obstacle is the inventory of educational facilities and infrastructure is the low number of goods and human resources.

Signs of a Manager’s Leadership in a Quality Educational Institution: Cases of the City and District Centre of Lithuania

One of the problems in Lithuania is the shortage of heads of educational institutions; many schools are looking for teachers, and there is a constant shortage of teaching staff. In addition, the issue of quality education is often debated. The article analyses the concept of a quality educational institution: the attributes and personal qualities of a manager-leader. The research was conducted in two schools in Lithuania (a large city and a district centre), which are characterised as high-quality educational institutions. These schools in Lithuania are highly rated in terms of pupil achievement, external audit data, and statements made by school communities in public space and social networks. The aim of the study is to investigate the attributes of a leader of a quality educational institution and its leader. The study used a qualitative methodology: semi-structured interviews with school leaders, teachers, and parents of students belonging to the school council. Qualitative research was chosen because it would be difficult to reveal the meaning of the problem using a quantitative method, as each respondent has his or her own individual opinion, which depends on his or her experiences. The data were analysed according to coding categories. According to the study, it can be stated that for a leader of a quality educational institution, it is very important to follow such principles as respect for others, knowledge of others, democratic values, belief in colleagues and their abilities, and lifelong learning should be part of the daily life of the educational community.

This study aims to identify and analyze Islamic Education Innovation (Multisite Study at MA Islamic Boarding School Al-Amin and MA Darul Hikmah, Mojokerto Regency). data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation Data were analyzed iteratively through single-site and multi-site analysis. credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmation. This study resulted in: (1) Innovation programs in the form of developing student potential through the Leadership Program, Religious Programs, Multistrategy Programs, Intrapreneurship Programs, Bilingual Programs, integration programs, TPQ teacher candidate training programs, (2) Innovation design in a) includes four critical thinking skills, creative, communicative and collaborative, b) implementation of the concept of khoirunnas anfauhum line; (3) Innovation steps in the learning process include knowledge and implementation; (4) the Islamic education innovation model, namely the bottom-up model that applies an integrated curriculum and experiential learning. This research is an Islamic Education Innovation, namely learning based on the benefits for students, where the formulation combines an integrated curriculum with experiential learning.

At least strategic management can also prevent the emergence of various problems that come from inside and outside educational institutions and can also improve the ability of educational institutions to deal with problems. Strategic management will enable educational institutions to carry out all their operational activities in a more effective and efficient manner. Academic supervision is a series of activities to help teachers develop their ability to manage the learning process to achieve learning objectives. The principal is one of the keys to the success of a quality educational institution in both process and output, therefore the principal as a supervisor is expected to motivate, foster, and develop teacher competence for the development of the teaching profession. The quality of education that runs effectively and efficiently is related to the principal's leadership with how the principal can influence teachers and school employees to achieve the vision, mission, and school goals that have been previously planned in developing the teaching profession at SMA Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi. This study reveals the implementation of academic supervision in the development of the teaching profession at SMA Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi, with the research focus: 1) planning for academic supervision carried out by the head of SMA Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi 2) implementation of academic supervision by the head of SMA Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi 3) the impact of academic supervision in professional development by the principal of SMA Blokagung Tegalsari Banyuwangi. This study uses a qualitative approach. The methods used in data collection include 1) interviews/ interviews 2) observation 3) documentation. These three methods are used to obtain research findings, these are analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and data verification and drawing conclusions. Schools principals as leaders have the task of realizing the vision and also developing innovation in the implementation process. Quality educational institutions can be realized if they are supported by leaders who understand leadership and quality management. Tahfidzul Qur'an Jus 30 is a very important component in determining the competence of graduates. This study aims to analysis the principal's leadership innovation in developing the tahfidzul Qur'an Jus 30 program and the factors that support and hinder it. This study uses a qualitative approach. Methods of data collection is done through observation, interviews, and documentation. While the data validity technique uses triangulation and source methods. Data analysis techniques using interactive models consist of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and leveraging. The results of this study indicate that the principal works as an innovator and also a very good supervisor. This can be seen from how the principal in making innovations and supervising the tahfidzul Qur'an team in the tahfidzul Qur'an Jus 30 learning activities, as a result, students and students managed to achieve the competencies that had been determined and even surpassed it.

Implementation of the Principal's Strategy in Development Talents and Interests of Students (Multi-Site Study at MTsN 3 Nganjuk and MTsN 2 Kediri City)

The research approach uses qualitative methods. Data collection techniques are participant observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are 1) single case data analysis, 2) cross-site analysis. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that: ( 1) The formulation of the madrasa principal's strategy in developing students' talents and interests at MTsN 3 Nganjuk and MTsN 2 Kediri City is carried out by : formulating the vision and mission of the madrasa, determining the goals of planning for the development of student talents and interests that have been carried out by the madrasa, mapping talents and interests based on abilities and fields of study . Recruitment of basic education students with implementation of strict selection assessment taking into account several assessments, namely the recruitment of the academic path through with report cards and Olympics. Non-academic selection recruitment is seen from the results of students' memorization of the Koran, sports, arts and so on . (2) The implementation of the madrasa principal's strategy in developing students' talents and interests at MTsN 3 Nganjuk and MTsN 2 Kediri City is carried out by: 1) Programs of extracurricular activities provided for all students according to their potential, interests, talents, and abilities, so that students can develop maximally. 2) Supporting activities through routine and spontaneous activities that are carried out optimally can develop students' talents and interests.
