International collaboration in local government studies: a bibliometric analysis

ABSTRACT International collaboration in public administration research is getting popular, reflecting growing globalisation in PA practices and the strength of collaborative knowledge production. This article examines international collaboration in 1,550 research articles published in Local Government Studies (LGS) between 1974 and 2022. The bibliometric analysis shows international coauthorship in LGS appeared in 1980 and increased to 23.08% among articles published in 2022. While international collaboration in LGS has been lower than that of average PA journals, the gap has been shrinking. Regression analysis indicates that LGS articles with international coauthorship yield greater scientific impacts. This study argues that further internationalisation of LGS and other PA journals with a focus on local issues demands theoretical and methodological breakthroughs in comparative local studies, as well as a wider and more balanced distribution of authors. This article also calls for further studies of the quality effects of international collaboration.

How Does Social Media Influence Tourist Behavior? A Conceptual Framework for Exploration

Purpose of the study: In the era of digitalization, the introduction of social media platforms has fundamentally changed how people access and exchange information, significantly impacting various societal spheres, including the travel and tourism industry. This study presents a conceptual framework of existing literature to examine the relationship between social media and its influence on travel behaviors in choosing tourist destinations. Methodology: An evaluation of recently published research papers, articles, and publications on social media and its influence on travel behaviors was conducted. Main Findings: Visitors may find it challenging to sort through possibilities due to information overload and decision fatigue caused by the abundance of data. However, when it comes to information exposure, perception creation, and decision-making during the pre-trip preparation stage, social media is an essential source of travel-related information. Applications of the study: This study highlights the multifaceted ways social media impacts travelers' decision-making processes, leading to a paradigm shift in how tourist destinations are chosen. Novelty/Originality of the study: This study encompasses review of more than 50 sources that inludes, research papers, blogs, websites, newspaper articles, magazines topresent a comprehensive view on the said title.

Insights into frankincense and myrrh research: A comprehensive analytical study of patterns and perspectives

ObjectiveFrankincense (Boswellia) and Myrrh (Commiphora) are natural substances that have a long history of traditional use and potential therapeutic applications. This study aimed to provide comprehensive insights into the literature on Frankincense and Myrrh research (FMR) by examining patterns, perspectives, and research trends within the research landscape. MethodsThis bibliometric study utilized MeSH-generated terms, followed the PRISMA guidelines, and analyzed English-based bibliographic data from original studies retrieved from the Scopus database. The VOSviewer and Bibliometrix applications were employed to analyze the CVS and BibTex data consisting of 955 records. This study focuses on publication trends, research topics, citation counts, research impacts, and collaboration dynamics. ResultsThe analysis revealed a steady increase in FMR, indicating growing interest in these substances. Egypt, the United States, and Saudi Arabia are the most prolific countries in terms of research output. FMR primarily focuses on chemical composition, pharmacological properties, and medicinal applications. Key research topics include identification and analysis of bioactive compounds, optimization of extraction techniques, and evaluation of their therapeutic potential. Surprisingly, the thematic map was overwhelmed by the niche, motor, basic, and emerging themes. Trending topics in FMR include “Myrrh oil”, “sesquiterpene”, “tapping”, “triterpenoids”, and “allergic contact dermatitis”. Collaboration networks highlight the involvement of diverse stakeholders, indicating the importance of multidisciplinary and international collaboration in advancing the field. ConclusionsThese insights contribute to a better understanding of the research landscape of FMR, guiding future studies and facilitating the utilization of these natural substances for the benefit of society.

The analytical review examines the most signifi cant publications of Russian researchers devoted to Śaṁkara (VII–VIII centuries), issued since 2000. The review is divided into parts devoted to individual authors, and their works are evaluated according to their contribution to Russian Śaṁkara studies, the criterion of which is the author’s translations of Śaṁkara’s texts from Sanskrit into Russian, and their conceptual interpretations. The “calling card” of V.K. Shokhin’s works is the inclusion of Śaṁkara’s discourse within the discussion of topical issues of philosophical Indology, theoretical philosophy and religious studies. The review examines the monograph “Stratifi cation of Reality in the Ontology of Advaita-Vedānta” and a number of articles; it explicates the methods by which Śaṁkara “fi ts” into the history of world philosophy. In S.L. Burmistrov’s publications, Śaṁkaraa’s texts are also used not only to solve special historical and philosophical problems, but also to solve topical problems of philosophy. The article “The Concept of Consciousness in the Philosophy of Śaṁkara” makes a completely reasonable conclusion on the decisive role of Śaṁkara in the formation of the Vedāntist concept of consciousness. In the article “Religious Consciousness in Classical Advaita-Vedānta”, Śaṁkara’s interpretations of Ātman are placed in the context of modern discussions on the forms of religious consciousness. N.V. Isaeva’s publication “The Teachings of Śaṁkara – Brahman as a Look and a Tail ...” contains interesting material that contributes to Śaṁkara’s understanding of Brahman as “full of bliss” (ānandamaya), and an assessment of the importance of the philosopher’s ideas in the development of Vedānta concepts. In V.G. Lysenko’s article “Sleep and Dreaming as States of Consciousness...”, structured as a “slow reading of the text”, two versions of Śaṁkara’s topology of consciousness are considered. The researcher reveals ambiguity of Vedāntist terminology, leading to different models of consciousness. Y.V. Predtechenskaya in her article “Defi nitions of Brahman in the Upaniṣads: Apophatic and Cataphatic Approaches ...” quite productively draws Śaṁkara’s comment to the solution of the religious problem of contrasting apophatic and cataphatic approaches to the defi nition of the Absolute. The book by R.V. Pshu “Vedārthasaṁgraha by Rāmānuja and the Formation of Viśiṣṭā-dvaita-vedānta” brings some new information of the infl uence of Śaṁkara’s ideas on t he Vedānta movement. The author notes that the Vedāntists lived after Śaṁkara did not consider his ideas as fundamental to them, and they did not develop them, but Śaṁkara’s teachings provoked their criticism, and they formulated their conceptions as antitheses to Śaṁkara’s ideas. There in the book, the reader can also fi nd useful information on the history of world Śaṁkara Studies.

Gender Equality Research: A Bibliometric Analysis of Trends in Turkey

Gender disparity persists in both developed and developing nations, despite several attempts to achieve gender parity. This paper explores the evolution and importance of gender equality research, with a focus on Turkey, through bibliometric analysis. It also examines significant subjects, patterns, and academic contributions in the discussion of gender equality using a dataset of 12,539 publications from the fields of business, economics, and management published between 2000 and 2023. Advanced bibliometric methods such as text mining and social network analysis have revealed a discernible increase in gender-related publications over the last 20 years. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden have all made significant contributions. The research provides a list of relevant research publications and keywords related to gender equality, women's representation, and gender differences in work. In addition, it highlights the departure from formal theories of equality and the shift towards more nuanced perspectives that consider the complex interplay among social, economic, and cultural factors. Coordinating gender equality with wider development agendas, particularly the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is a crucial point of guidance for academics, practitioners, and policymakers, as the paper makes clear. In the twenty-first century, gender inequality poses many complicated problems that require interdisciplinary collaboration and continued research into understudied areas including the intersections of gender with other social identities.

Effectiveness of an Expendable Unmanned Ground Vehicle Stalling a Mechanized Infantry Company's Primary Combat Units—A Virtual Simulation Experiment

ABSTRACTTechnological advancements have spurred the development of unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) and their innovative military applications and strategies. Such applications include expendable UGVs. However, public research concerning expendable military UGVs remains sparse. Particularly, the unclassified literature does not contain studies regarding their capabilities and effectiveness in combat. This study introduces a new low‐cost expendable UGV called Laykka. Moreover, the study presents a virtual simulation experiment to evaluate Laykkas' operational capabilities and their impact on advancing mechanized infantry units. The experiment involved armored reserve officer students assuming the roles of infantry troops forming an attacking opposing force while staff officers controlled simulated infantry troops operating the UGVs. A total of 16 battle simulations were fought. The simulated UGVs operated by a single soldier were able to stall the advancement of the mechanized infantry company's primary combat units three times out of four and a smaller force 11 out of 12 times. The best stalling effect was observed using a mix of UGVs with different module types. These modules allowed reconnaissance, loitering mine, and anti‐tank operations. The simulation experiment revealed that the UGV was an effective defensive tool due to its self‐destructive capability, causing marked battle damage, disruption, and confusion to the opposing forces.

Quality of life, capability well-being, financial strain and physical activity in the short- and medium-term COVID-19 post-lockdown phases in the UK: a repeated cross-sectional study.

The COVID-19 lockdowns had negative effects on children's and adults' mental and physical health. There is, however, a paucity of research that explores differences in health-related quality of life (HRQL) and well-being over time after the COVID-19 lockdowns had been lifted. Furlough during lockdowns, increases in unemployment, and the emerging cost-of-living crisis all put pressure on family finances, which could have a detrimental effect on HRQL and well-being. This study, part of the wider Active-6 study, explored how HRQL, capability well-being and family financial strain changed after the lockdowns, the relationship between these outcomes, and whether physical activity had any mediating effect on differences in HRQL and capability well-being. Cross-sectional data were collected in May-December 2021 (Wave 1) and January-July 2022 (Wave 2). Children (aged 10-11) and their parent/carer were recruited from 23 to 27 schools in each wave, respectively, and completed validated questionnaires measuring HRQL (adults - EQ-5D-5L, children - CHU9D), capability well-being (adults - ICECAP-A) and family financial strain (adults - Family Economic Strain Scale, FESS). Children also completed questions on capability well-being. Weekday minutes of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) were measured using accelerometers. Mixed-effects regression models, adjusted for gender, age group (adults only), IMD and highest household education, were used to explore differences in HRQL and capability well-being between waves. In addition, the moderating effect of financial strain and the mediating effect of MVPA on HRQL and capability well-being were explored. Active-6 recruited 393 parent-child pairs in Wave 1 and 436 in Wave 2. There were no differences in HRQL (EQ-5D, CHU9D) and capability well-being (ICECAP-A) scores between waves, but financial strain was worse in Wave 2 compared to Wave 1 (FESS score difference 1.14 adjusted 95% CI 0.15 to 2.12). Increased financial strain was associated with lower (worse) EQ-5D-5L, CHU9D and ICECAP-A scores. There was no evidence of a mediating effect of MVPA. Pre-COVID-19 data on HRQL were not collected, so analysis was limited to post-lockdown only. Participating parents were predominantly female and participation was lower among lower socio-economic groups, limiting our ability to explore inequalities. Intervention planning to increase physical activity and health and well-being during the COVID-19 recovery should consider the financial strain families are experiencing and the negative implications of financial strain on HRQL. There were no differences in HRQL and capability well-being in children and adults after lockdowns lifted in 2021 and a year later in 2022. The results indicate increasing financial strain, which could reflect the UK's 'cost of living crisis'. A study in enhancement of satellite images

Satellite image enhancement is the method, which is commonly used in the field of satellite image processing for the betterment of the feature visualization and for clear visibility to properly identify those features. These satellite images have many atmospheric barriers like distortion and noise because they are captured from a very high and far distance. After the image capturing, some geometric corrections and radiometric corrections are carried out on those images, but these corrections are not enough for all the applications. So, it is needed to enhance the image restored before using it for feature identification. Nowadays, there are so many approaches for assuring effective image enhancement. However, there are so many drawbacks that need to be addressed in future. Hence, this article illustrates a clear and elaborate survey of various research articles presenting satellite image enhancement methods, such as machine learning-based techniques, optimization-based techniques, wavelet-based techniques, filter-based techniques and Histogram equalization-based techniques. Finally, the analysis is given in the survey based on the classification of research methods, publication year, utilized datasets and performance measures towards enhancement of satellite images. At last, issues and research gaps in methods are given in such a way that the motivation for developing an effective method for enabling effective enhancement is revealed.

Safeguarding Privacy in Genome Research: A Comprehensive Framework for Authors.

As genomic research continues to advance, sharing of genomic data and research outcomes has become increasingly important for fostering collaboration and accelerating scientific discovery. However, such data sharing must be balanced with the need to protect the privacy of individuals whose genetic information is being utilized. This paper presents a bidirectional framework for evaluating privacy risks associated with data shared (both in terms of summary statistics and research datasets) in genomic research papers, particularly focusing on re-identification risks such as membership inference attacks (MIA). The framework consists of a structured workflow that begins with a questionnaire designed to capture researchers' (authors') self-reported data sharing practices and privacy protection measures. Responses are used to calculate the risk of re-identification for their study (paper) when compared with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) genomic data sharing policy. Any gaps in compliance help us to identify potential vulnerabilities and encourage the researchers to enhance their privacy measures before submitting their research for publication. The paper also demonstrates the application of this framework, using published genomic research as case study scenarios to emphasize the importance of implementing bidirectional frameworks to support trustworthy open science and genomic data sharing practices.

Research Trends in Presurgical Infant Orthopaedic Treatment in Patients with Cleft Lip and Palate: A Bibliometric Analysis of 100 Most-Cited Articles.

To assess research trends and publication patterns of literature related to presurgical infant orthopaedics (PSIO) through a bibliometric analysis of the top 100 most-cited articles. The top 100 most-cited articles were identified in the Web of Science (WoS) database using search terms related to PSIO on April 23, 2024, without any restrictions to study design, publication date and language. Standard information about each study was extracted. Citations from WoS, Scopus and PubMed databases were compared. The level of evidence for each article included was assessed. Association between different variables was calculated using Spearman's correlation coefficient with statistical significance set at p < 0.05. Visual analysis of the author's keyword co-occurrence, co-authorship analysis of authors, and citation analysis of journals and authors were performed using VOSviewer. Top cited articles were published from 1994 to 2020, with total individual database citations being WoS (n = 5378), Scopus (n = 6184) and PubMed (n = 10 450). Eleven articles were considered classic articles. Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Journal (Impact Factor = 1.1) had a maximum number of articles and citations. Two hundred eighty-five individuals contributed to top-cited articles, with 62 corresponding authors from 19 countries. A maximum number of authors were affiliated with universities in the United States. The most common keyword used was "nasoalveolar molding (n = 24)", "cleft palate (n = 16)", and "infant orthopedics (n = 16)". The study design of the majority of articles was retrospective and follow-up studies (level 3; n = 53). A weak negative correlation was observed between citation metrics and both the publication year (P < 0.01) and the level of evidence (P < 0.01). This analysis recognises the contributions of experts and offers valuable insights into trends that have shaped the development and evidence related to PSIO research. Future research should focus on integrating advanced technologies, conducting longitudinal studies, fostering collaboration, and emphasizing patient-centred outcomes.

A scoping review of coaching in occupational therapy: Mapping methods, populations and outcomes.

Coaching is proposed as a core enabling skill of occupational therapy and increasingly suggested for a diverse range of health populations. In recent years, research on coaching has proliferated, emerging from within and outside of occupational therapy. Yet, concern has been raised about the absence of theoretical underpinning and diversity of descriptions of coaching in occupational therapy, as well as low-quality evidence supporting its effectiveness. The aim of this study is to map the use of coaching by occupational therapists from 2007 to 2022 to identify the populations, settings and outcomes it is applied to, differences between coaching interventions and evidence supporting its use. This systematic scoping review applied Arksey and O'Malley's five-stage methodological framework with further methodological direction using the Levac framework. There was no consumer involvement in undertaking this review. Findings from 60 research publications on coaching indicate its use with populations across the lifespan in primarily community settings to improve occupational performance, participation and self-efficacy. A wide range of coaching interventions are designed or used by occupational therapists, with Occupational Performance Coaching being the most researched (16/27, 59% of named interventions). Common elements of coaching interventions included collaborative goal setting and problem-solving; however, a lack of described theory or coaching methods persists. High-quality study designs indicate its effectiveness; however, an absence of fidelity definition or monitoring limits interpretation of many studies. The language of coaching is becoming common practice within occupational therapy, and evidence indicates effectiveness of some coaching interventions. Advances in coaching research and use by occupational therapists will be aided by an explicit statement of the theoretical basis for coaching interventions, with congruent coaching methods, mechanisms and outcomes stated. This scoping review maps the use of coaching by occupational therapists in current published research. Key aspects of coaching examined include how coaching is defined, who it is used with and how effective it is. The kinds of outcomes that coaching is intended to improve are also reported. From 633 publications, 60 research publications were fully analysed. The use of coaching by occupational therapists has grown rapidly over the past 10years. Strong evidence of its effectiveness exists for achieving the personal goals of people receiving occupational therapy when goals describe changes in everyday life activities. Coaching is being used with people across the lifespan with a variety of disabilities and chronic conditions and their caregivers/parents, most commonly parents of children with developmental issues. The key features of coaching interventions used by occupational therapists include collaborative goal setting, shared problem-solving and client-led action planning. Some elements of coaching are also used within other interventions with a wider range of methods. Coaching is believed to work by supporting an individual's self-belief that they can make changes. Theories that underpin coaching vary but commonly focus on self-determination, behaviour change and occupational therapy theory. However, many of the coaching interventions do not describe any theoretical basis nor coaching methods in detail. Future research on coaching in occupational therapy should ensure a clear explanation of the theory that underpins it, coaching methods and monitoring of how well coaching is applied.

Corpus research on signed languages in the Nordic countries

Abstract This semi-systematic literature review examines signed language corpus research in the Nordic countries, with a quantitative and qualitative assessment of corpus research. The article first describes some critical components and functionalities of signed language corpora. It then outlines the evolution of Nordic corpus research, highlighting Sweden’s pioneering role and subsequent developments in Finland and Norway. The findings suggest a progression from method-focused publications to those exploring linguistic phenomena within and across (signed) languages. Although the number of research publications is modest, there is a discernible shift towards comparative studies and applications in signed language teaching and learning.

A Systematic Review on the Technical Performance and Sustainability of 3D Printing Filaments Using Recycled Plastic

Over the past 40 years, global plastic production has increased twenty-fold, prompting efforts to mitigate plastic waste. Recycling has emerged as the predominant strategy for sustainable plastic waste management. As additive manufacturing (AM) continues to evolve, integrating recycled plastics with various additives has gained significant attention. This systematic literature review, conducted in full accordance with the PRISMA guidelines, aims to evaluate and compare the properties and effects of recycled plastics and their additives in AM. Specifically, it examines the thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties of these materials, along with their life cycle environmental and economic implications. A total of 88 research publications, spanning from 2013 to 2023, were analyzed. The databases searched include Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest, and Google Scholar, with the final search conducted in December 2023. Studies were selected through a four-stage process—identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion—based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The risk of bias was assessed using five criteria: credibility, scope, clarity, methodology, and analysis quality. The results show that most research focuses on the mechanical properties of recycled plastics, with significant gaps in understanding their thermal and rheological properties. Additionally, there is limited research on the environmental and economic viability of these materials, highlighting the need for integrated life cycle assessments and eco-efficiency analyses. This review offers additive manufacturing professionals a comprehensive understanding of the thermal, mechanical, and rheological performance of recycled plastics and additives, supporting efforts to improve sustainability in the industry.

Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges for Public Administration

AbstractArtificial intelligence (AI) could be at the heart of a fourth revolution by significantly changing professional identity, relationships between individuals and resource management. To help public administration practitioners and researchers cope with changes anticipated by AI, this research note maps existing conceptual approaches on the opportunities and challenges of AI in public administration and proposes a conceptual framework and initiatives that can inform and support effective, public interest‐oriented technology policymaking. This research note outlines a potential research agenda, with multi‐level opportunities and challenges, to accelerate this critical work.

Referee quality and article citations: a case study of a finance journal

ABSTRACT As a result of the open science movement, we take advantage of one of the few journals in business studies, the Journal of Financial Economics (JFE), which between 2009 and 2021 named some of their referees. This allows us to produce a novel hand-collected data set to explore the extent to which referee quality matters in identifying articles that will receive strong future citations. We find that prominent academics are more likely to identify articles that will exhibit a high number of citations. This relationship is most pronounced among referees who are in a relatively mature stage in their careers. These results indicate that high-quality researchers, especially those in a relatively mature stage, are more likely to identify the potential of an article. To maximize future citations, editors thus need to consider the research publication record of the referees when making their selections. Overall, we provide insights which are of interest and relevance across higher education research.

The Anxiety Of The Millennial Generation And Its Solutions From The Perspective Of The Qur'an

In daily life, millennials have undoubtedly experienced distress, which can be interpreted as feelings of stress and anxiety. This research focuses on understanding distress from the perspective of the Qur'an, which serves as the primary guidance for Muslims. This study aims to explore the Qur'anic view on distress, the definition of distress in both language and the Qur'an, as well as understanding how millennials interpret distress, the terms used in the context of distress, and interpreting distress according to the Qur'an by providing solutions to improve the quality of life. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach that relies on literature study research, including Qur'anic verses, research publications, and related articles. In terms of interpretation, this research relies on the thematic interpretation method (tafsir maudhu’i). It also includes studies conducted by experts related to the phenomenon of distress, which encompasses stress and anxiety. In the context of the millennial generation, this research discovers solutions to overcome distress, which are further elaborated by the author through new ideas, especially by referring to relevant Qur'anic verses. The findings revealed in this research are 1) the Qur'anic view on stress as a test from Allah SWT, 2) that calamities are a source of stress, 3) the importance of having strong self-confidence, and 4) solutions for distress from the perspective of the Qur'an.

Digital Transformation of Tax and Accounting Processes

The world today is changing rapidly in many ways. Fundamental changes that differ country by country are visible also in the area of taxes and accounting. New activities whose adoption is enabled due to the great development of technologies in fact exert pressure on individual economic subjects′ actions in many areas. This is visible also in supporting activities like tax and accounting processing. Setting of business processes has to be therefore changed quite often as a reaction to the frequent changes in legislation regulating these areas. Legislation in these two areas, taken from the Czech accounting units′ point of view, changes so often. Even if these changes of the legislative framework can be described as more frequent in the area of taxation (great change at least twice a year, often in the area of income taxes), this year the great change happened also in the area of accounting. In association with the adoption of the New accounting act started to be influenced set accounting processes of accounting units concerned. New accounting act should come into force since January 1, 2025. The aim of this contribution is to identify and, through the analysis of the development of digitalization tools, assess the possibilities of selected accounting units in the area of digital transformation of tax and accounting processes. This contribution uses, with the intention to describe and assess the situation in above specified areas, information focused on related significant legislative changes and relevant research methods to which belong literature research of professional publications, analysis of information and methodical support in specified area (provided mainly by the state authorities). The intention of the authors is to assess the degree of use of digitalization by selected, in the contribution further specified, accounting units. Therefore, in the final part of the contribution, obtained results are summarized using the method of synthesis.

Critical care in older adults: Research landscape and hotspots from a bibliometric perspective.

As the population ages, there will be an increasing demand for health care resources, particularly in intensive care. Therefore, critically ill older adults are receiving increasing attention and have been extensively studied. However, the research landscape, dynamic patterns, and emerging topics in this area have scarcely been reviewed. This study aimed to delve into the current status and emerging trends (publication volume and research topics) in critical care for older adults (including interventions, outcomes, and complications) using bibliometric analysis. We retrieved original articles and reviews focusing on critical care for older adults published between 2013 and 2022 from the Web of Science core database. To examine and present the research trends, we employed VOSviewer and CiteSpace software for analysis and visualization. The cooperative network of countries and institutions, cocited authorship network, cocited references, and cooccurrence network of keywords were analyzed. Overall, 6356 articles and reviews published between 2013 and 2022 were analyzed, revealing a noticeable upward trend in the number of publications focused on critical care for older adults. In total, 34,654 authors from 7989 institutions across 131 countries collaborated to publish 6356 papers related to critical care for older adults in 1715 academic journals. The United States of America and China were the top contributors in terms of research studies, while Bertrand Guidet was the most prolific author with the highest number of articles. A dual-map overlay of the literature revealed that research papers published in Molecular/Biology/Genetics and Health/Nursing/Medicine journals were frequently referenced in Medicine/Medical/Clinical journals. Older patients with coronavirus disease 2019, delirium, and frailty were new trends and developing areas of interest. This is the first bibliometric study focusing on critical care in older adults. The research topics indicate that a comprehensive geriatric assessment, tailored interventions, and specific therapeutic algorithms among older adults are recommended to improve outcomes. Furthermore, this study provides valuable insights for clinical decision-making, guideline development, and resource allocation in critical care settings.

An Analysis of Research Trends for Using Artificial Intelligence in Cultural Heritage

Artificial intelligence (AI) techniques have been increasingly applied in assisting various cultural heritage (CH)-related tasks. The aim of this study is to examine the research trends and current applications of AI in this vast domain. After obtaining a dataset from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, a scientometric analysis of research publications from 2019 to 2023 related to the use of AI in CH was conducted. The trending topics based on the author’s keywords were identified by using the ScientoPy v2.1.3 software. Through this approach, five main topics were identified: classification, computer vision, 3D reconstruction, recommender systems, and intangible cultural heritage. The analysis highlights the upward trend in publications in this field since 2019, indicating a growing interest in the application of AI techniques in CH. By analyzing the latest research in the field, it is observed that AI techniques are mostly applied to assist CH in the discovery, description, classification, and preservation tasks. The report gives insights into the main research areas and developing trends in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The study offers important information about the key research areas and emerging trends related to using AI techniques in the CH field. This helps to recognize the potential, development, and increasing influence of these technologies within the CH domain. The findings of this study contribute to the future development of AI applications in CH, enabling professionals to use the advantages of these technologies.

Endometriosis and Infertility: A Bibliometric Analysis of the 100 Most-Cited Articles from 2000 to 2023

Objectives: This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of research on endometriosis and infertility, focusing on the 100 most-cited (TOP100) articles in the literature. Design: The design of this study is a bibliometric analysis. Participants/Materials, Setting, Methods: The SCOPUS database was searched using the terms “endometriosis” and “infertility.” The productivity and impact of research publications by authors, countries, and journals were assessed using the following indicators: total number of publications, total number of citations (TNC), journal impact factor, and journal citation indicator. The bibliometric analysis was conducted from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2023, using IBM SPSS™ for Windows and VOSviewer 1.6.20. VOSviewer was used to evaluate the TNC, total number of authors/coauthors, and collaboration network between countries of the TOP100 articles. VOSviewer was also used to create keyword co-occurrence networks. Results: Of the TOP100 articles, 69 were literature review articles, with a mean of 448.97 ± 513.5 citations (range: 191–2,705). The TOP100 articles were published by 479 authors (mean 5.8 ± 7.3 per study) from 40 countries in 39 high-impact journals. The keyword co-occurrence network revealed a grouping of four clusters, with terms related to pathophysiology, clinical management, assisted reproductive technology, and hormonal treatment of endometriosis. Limitations: The main limitation of our study is the use of only one database and TNC as the main bibliometric indicator. Studies need at least 2–3 years after publication to accumulate sufficient citations for bibliometric indicators to be reliable. This means that large number of recent studies were not included in this bibliometric analysis. Conclusions: This study revealed trends in endometriosis and infertility research, especially in the fields of immunology and genetics. It also highlights the importance of global collaboration to improve diagnostics, treatments, and outcomes.
