This study aimed to determine the institutional capability of maritime educational institutions in Bicol Region. Specifically, it answered the following sub-problems: 1) The trend of enrolment, graduates, board passers and employment of graduates from SY 2010-2015; 2) The capability of maritime educational institutions based on the evaluation of faculty, students, and school personnel as far as the following areas are concerned: (a) purpose and objectives, (b) faculty, (c) instruction, (d) library, (e) laboratories, (f) physical plant and facilities, (g) student personnel services, (h) social orientation and community involvement, and (i) organization and administration; 3) Significant relationship in the evaluation of educational maritime institutions by the faculty, non-academic and students as regards institutional capability; 4) The projected enrolment, graduates, board passers and employment of graduates in the year 2016 to 2021?; and 5) The proposed development plan to enhance the institutional capability of maritime educational institutions in Bicol Region. To determine the institutional capability of the maritime educational institution under study, the survey design with descriptive-evaluative method of research was employed. The historical method was used to look into the enrollment, graduates, board passers and employment of graduates. Data and information were generated by the self-rating scale instrument patterned after PACUCOA. Other information was consolidated by way of documentary analysis. However, to verify some responses to the questionnaire-checklist, the researcher conducted a focus group discussion. These findings served as bases to answer the research problems. Moreover, the proposed five-year development plan for the maritime educational institutions in Bicol Region was formulated. Nonetheless, some of the problems encountered by the researcher include (a) financial, (b) cooperation, (c) time constraint, and (d) schedule of activities. On the part of the administration, (a) access of some confidential records and (b) overlapping activities were encountered too.
