Abstract

The Suez Bay is an environmental stress area that has been subjected to pollution from different sources for a long time. In view of the proposed development plan in land areas adjoining the Bay, and despite the fact that most of the proposed industries will not produce measurable persisting types of pollutants, it was deemed necessary to investigate the possible impacts of these development plans on the air and water quality of the Suez Bay and its surroundings. Two predictive models for the dispersion of treated waste water into the Bay and the gaseous and suspended matter emitted into the atmosphere of this compound industrial area were constructed, viz. water quality and ambient air quality models.
