A parenting program delivered through existing community-based peer groups to improve early child development in Homabay and Busia Counties, Kenya: study protocol for a cluster-randomized controlled trial

BackgroundPoor early childhood development (ECD) is a major global health concern that is associated with various adverse outcomes over the lifecourse. Parenting interventions especially during the earliest years of life can benefit ECD. However, there is limited evidence from Kenya about the effectiveness of parenting interventions for improving ECD outcomes especially across rural disadvantaged communities. This paper describes the study protocol for an impact and implementation evaluation of a community-based group parenting program that aims to improve ECD in rural Kenya.MethodsWe will conduct a cluster-randomized controlled trial to determine the effectiveness of a parenting program for caregivers of young children in Homabay and Busia counties in Western Kenya. Sixty-four village clusters will be randomly assigned to either the parenting intervention arm or the waitlist control arm with stratification by county. In each village, 10 primary caregivers with a child aged 0–24 months will be enrolled. The parenting program will be delivered through existing peer groups within communities whereby caregivers will receive counseling and psychosocial support to enhance their parenting skills and wellbeing to in turn promote ECD. The intervention curriculum comprises 21 sessions targeting various nurturing care messages, including early learning, responsive caregiving, child nutrition, health, protection, and caregiver mental health. Group sessions are facilitated by a trained volunteer biweekly for a total of 11 months. The primary trial outcome is an overall measure of ECD using the Global Scales of Early Development long form version. Secondary outcomes include various caregiver outcomes (e.g., parenting practices, mental health) and other child outcomes (e.g., socioemotional development, dietary diversity). All outcomes will be assessed at baseline and endline. We will also conduct a qualitative implementation evaluation at endline and interview various stakeholders to assess program fidelity, quality, and sustainability.DiscussionThis trial will evaluate the effectiveness of a parenting intervention on ECD and caregiving outcomes and assess program implementation quality as delivered through existing community-based peer groups. This study will provide rigorous evidence that can be used to inform scale-up of this program model that leverages existing community social networks and resources for improving caregivers’ parenting skills and promoting ECD in rural Kenya and other similar settings across LMICs.Trial registrationClinicalTrials.gov #NCT06165315. The Challenges and Obstacles of Implementing Quality and Development Programs at Jordanian Business Companies (Field Study)

Purpose: The study aims to clarify the challenges and obstacles (C&O) of implementing Quality and Development (Q&D) programs at Jordanian business institutions. Quality programs are the major driver of today’s business environment to accomplish business goals. The Q&D programs affect customers, organizations, and society at large. Theoretical Framework: The study reviewed the literature in order to explain the concepts of quality, organization development and the relation between the two concepts. In addition, the study surveyed previous research for challenges and obstacles that hindered the implementation of quality and organization development programs. Design/Methodology/Approach: The researchers used a descriptive statistical analysis to analyze the randomly collected data from a sample of various businesses in Amman Governance Area. A survey was prepared, tested and distributed to collect needed data. A total of 1275 surveys were used to solve the study problem regarding the influence of C&O on implementing Q&D at Jordanian business companies. The study uses the frequency statistics to analyze the collected data. Findings: The analysis of the study found that the success of implementing quality programs depends heavily on recognizing the C&O that will hinder the implantation in order to overcome such difficulties. The study showed that the absence of motivation, commitment, concentration, communication, resources, information, and executive support are the major C&O hindering the success of implementing quality programs. Meanwhile, the study showed that companies who attained or seeking quality certification are in a better position to overcome the difficulties of implementing quality programs. Employees also play a major role in overcoming such difficulties depending on the training and development provided by their institutions. Research, Practical & Social Implications: The study emphasized that quality programs are essential to the success of businesses in satisfying their customers, improving labor abilities and skills, increase their market share, and eventually increase profits. The study also emphasized the importance of leadership role in adapting, practicing and supporting quality programs in business institutions in order for such programs to succeed. Originality/Value: The study originality as a first attempt to examine the difficulties of implementing quality programs at Jordanian business companies. The study contributes to better understand the challenges and obstacles that may hinder quality and development programs at Jordanian business companies.

Implementation of the Good Behavior Game in Polish Elementary Schools Under COVID-19 Restrictions

Objectives of the research: The main aim of the research was to verify the quality of the implementation of the “Good Behavior Game” (GBG) program in Polish schools and to determine its effects on students and teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 Research methods: The methodology of the research was based on qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The data was retrieved from teachers’ and coaches’ assessments and the results of playing the GBG in 19 elementary schools in Krakow, Poland during four months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
 A short description of the context of the issue: The Good Behavior Game is an American universal prevention program that can limit the risky behavior of adolescents and young adults and can help children starting their education to play the role of a student. For teachers, it is additionally an effective tool for classroom management. It is based on four basic pillars: class rules, teamwork, positive reinforcement, and observing students’ behavior.
 Research findings: The results show the obstacles and difficulties involved in implementing the GBG under COVID-19 restrictions. The findings show how the actions of teachers and coaches translated into an observable reduction in pupils’ disruptive behavior.
 Conclusions and/or recommendations: The analysis revealed a gradual increase in the quality of program implementation in all areas of evaluation. In terms of the program’s effect on the pupils, the findings showed that over time they gradually successfully internalized the rules and were behaving in line with expectations. Using the GBG in the context of online education caused by the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic posed a challenge to teachers: they had to change teaching methods, prepare new educational resources, and modify GBG procedures. The context of the pandemic can also be seen as an added value in the education process. Better digital competences and an innovative attitude toward the education process were observed among both teachers and students.

Protocol of a cluster randomised trial of BodyKind: a school-based body image programme for adolescents

BackgroundPoor body image is prevalent among adolescents and associated with several negative outcomes for their physical and psychological health. There is a pressing need to address this growing public health concern, yet there are few evidence-informed universal programmes for older adolescents that address contemporary body image concerns (i.e., social media). BodyKind is a four lesson, school-based, teacher led, universal body image programme that incorporates empirically supported principles of cognitive dissonance, self-compassion, compassion for others and social activism, to support positive body image development. Building on previous pilot trials in the USA, this paper outlines the protocol for a cluster randomised control trial (cRCT) and implementation evaluation of the BodyKind programme which was culturally adapted for the Irish cultural context.MethodsWe aim to recruit 600 students aged 15-17 years in Transition Year (4th year) across 26 second-level schools in Ireland. Using minimisation, schools will be randomly assigned to receive BodyKind (intervention condition, n=300) or classes as usual (waitlist control, n=300). Teachers in intervention groups will receive training and deliver the programme to students over four weeks, at a rate of one lesson per week. Primary outcomes of body appreciation, body dissatisfaction and psychological wellbeing and secondary outcomes of self-compassion, compassion for others, body ideal internalisation, social justice motives and appearance-based social media use will be assessed at pre-, post- and 2 month follow up. Mediation and moderation analyses will be conducted to identify how and for whom the intervention works best. An implementation evaluation will assess the quality of programme implementation across schools and how this may influence intervention outcomes. Waitlist control schools will receive the programme after the 2-month follow up.ConclusionThis study will be the first to implement a cRCT and an implementation evaluation to assess the impact of this multicomponent school-based body image programme designed to support healthy body image development. If shown to be effective, BodyKind will have the potential to improve adolescent body image and wellbeing and inform efforts to implement sustainable and scalable programmes in schools.Trial registrationThe trial was retrospectively registered on 10/10/2023 on ClinicalTrials.gov NCT06076993.

The influence of socioeconomic and spatial variables on total maximum daily load progress in the United States

Abstract The total maximum daily load (TMDL) program requires each state in the United States to assess their water bodies, list those that are impaired, and develop TMDL plans or programs to restore them. However, the impact that spatial and socioeconomic variables have on TMDL progress is unknown. This study seeks to fill this gap through a nation-wide analysis of the influence of spatial and socioeconomic variables on indicators of TMDL progress. To do so, data were collected and analyzed for each state, including indicators of TMDL progress, spatial variables, and socioeconomic data. Then, these data were applied to identify overall trends and to define the relationships between indicators of TMDL progress and spatial and socioeconomic variables. Results indicate that the size of a state, the length of total streams, and median household income are related to the percentage of streams that are assessed within a state. In addition, states largely followed similar patterns in TMDL progress based on the US Environmental Protection Agency region that they were within, indicating that location plays a large role. Overall, this study helps to contextualize progress in TMDL development and aid in our understanding of factors that influence the implementation of water quality programs.

Implementation of The Chili Commodity Agricultural Financing Program at Islamic Boarding Schools

Islamic boarding schools, in general, tend to have a low level of independence, even though they have resources that can be utilized to increase their independence. The Bank Indonesia Social Program (PSBI) is strategically provided to Islamic boarding schools for economic development with chili commodities. Bank Indonesia collaborated with the Islamic Boarding School Business Economic Association (Hebitren) in its distribution, appointing the Al-Ittifaq Islamic Boarding School as an off-taker and buyer. This research aims to analyze the performance of PSBI for beneficiaries. This research was conducted in Bandung Regency and Garut Regency according to the location of the Al-Ittifaq Islamic Boarding School network, which received funding grants for chili development. The research technique used a census of 6 Islamic boarding schools. Data analysis used Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), which aims to analyze the performance of a program. The science results obtained criteria in quadrant one, which means these criteria have high expectations but low performance, so performance needs to be increased to balance high expectations. Then, we get the criteria in quadrant 2, which means that the criteria tend to have high expectations and performance. Hence, they must be maintained to maintain the quality of program implementation.

Experiences of health providers regarding implementation of the physiologic birth program in Iran: A qualitative content analysis.

The rate of cesarean section is on the rise in both developed and developing countries, and Iran is no exception. According to the WHO, physiologic labor is one of the main strategies for reducing cesarean section and improving the health of mothers and newborns. The aim of this qualitative study was to explain the experiences of health providers regarding implementation of the physiologic birth program in Iran. This study is a part of a mixed-methods study, in which 22 health providers were interviewed from January 2022 to June 2022. Data analysis was performed using Graneheim and Lundman's conventional content analysis approach and using MAXQDA10 software. Two main categories and nine subcategories emerged from the results of this study. The main categories included "the obstacles to the implementation of the physiologic birth program" and "strategies for improving implementation of the program". The subcategories of the first category included: lack of continuous midwifery care in the healthcare system, lack of free accompanying midwives, lack of integrated healthcare and hospitals in service provision, low quality of childbirth preparation and implementation of physiologic birth classes, and lack of requirements for the implementation of physiologic birth in the maternity ward. The second category included the following subcategories: Supervising the implementation of childbirth preparation classes and physiologic childbirth, support of midwives by insurance companies, holding training courses on physiologic birth, and evaluation of program implementation. The experiences of the health providers with the physiologic birth program revealed that policymakers should provide the ground for the implementation of this type of labor by removing the obstacles and providing the particular operational strategies needed in Iran. Important measures that can contribute to the implementation of the physiologic labor program in Iran include the following: Setting the stage for physiologic birth in the healthcare system, creating low- and high-risk wards in maternity hospitals, providing professional autonomy for midwifery, training childbirth providers on physiologic birth, monitoring the quality of program implementation, and providing insurance support for midwifery services.

Pretend play-based training improves some socio-emotional competences in 5–6-year-old children: A large-scale study assessing implementation

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of a pretend play-based training in 5–6-year-old children in a large scale school context on emotion comprehension, emotion regulation, prosocial behaviour and on their pretend play competences. The analysis of implementation variables was carried out in order to ensure program implementation quality in the experimental group. Results show an improvement in emotion comprehension and a decrease in aggressive behavioural responses in children in the experimental group (n = 101) compared to those in the control group (n = 79). Findings are discussed in regard to implementation outcomes and the influence of this form of play on the improvement of these variables.

Implementation of the “unplugged” school-based prevention programme in Nigeria: Results of process evaluation

Process evaluation can improve the quality of program implementation and the achievement of program outcomes. This paper aims to describe the fidelity of implementation of the school-based prevention program 'Unplugged' in Nigeria, i.e., the degree to which the intervention was delivered as intended, and the satisfaction of teachers and students. The program aims to prevent tobacco, alcohol, and substance use and consists of 12 standardized units, one-hour each, delivered by class teachers. Sixteen schools implemented the program. Eleven schools, 33 classes, 27 teachers, 993 students provided process evaluation data. Eighty-two percent of classes implemented the entire program, with lower rates of activities implementation at the beginning and at the end of the program. Each unit took on average 55 minutes. More than 90% of teachers perceived high students' interest for units 1, 4, 5, 8, and 9, high interactivity for units 1, 2, 8, and 9, and declared high comfort in implementing most units. About 80% of teachers reported an improvement in knowledge, teaching skills, and relationships with students due to the program. More than 75% of students declared the program changed their way of seeing themselves, was helpful to answer questions about themselves, and improved their relationships with mates and teachers. About 95% of students reported an increase in knowledge of the consequences of substance use. Students declared Unplugged educative, informative, helpful, impacting on change, interesting and suggested the program should be spread to other schools.

Fecal Coliform Bacteria in Vegetable Salads Prepared in Baghdad Restaurants

This study aimed to evaluate the presence of coliforms in 50 samples (25 ready-to-eat vegetable salads and 25 handlers’ hands) collected randomly from restaurants in Baghdad. The total coliform count in the samples of vegetable salads from Al-Sadria and Hay al-Amel reached 4.78 and 4.32 log cfu/g, respectively, whereas those in the swab samples of handlers’ hands from the same areas reached 3.70 and 3.90 log cfu/g, respectively. The percentages of fecal coliform bacteria in the salad samples from Al-Sadria and Hay al-Amel were 35% and 32%, respectively, whereas those in the hand swabs from the same areas were 41% and 36%, respectively. Two isolates of the serotype Escherichia coli O157:H7 were detected in the study samples from the same areas, where the rates of E. coli and fecal coliform bacteria increased. Considering the virulence of this bacterial serotype and its direct impact on consumer safety, we highly recommend implementing quality programs in ready-to-eat vegetable salad production chains, raising the cultural level and health awareness of restaurant owners and workers preparing these salads, and raising public awareness of the potential health risks of consuming contaminated food products.

High quality implementation of 4Rs + MTP increases classroom emotional support and reduces absenteeism.

School-based social and emotional learning (SEL) programs are associated with improvements in children's SEL and academic outcomes, and the quality of classroom interactions. The magnitude of these effects increases at high levels of program implementation quality. This study aimed to (1) identify teachers' profiles of quality of implementation, (2) explore teachers and classroom characteristics contributing to their propensity to comply with high quality of implementation, and (3) examine the relations between school assignment to an SEL program, quality of classroom interactions, and child SEL and academic outcomes at different levels of teachers' compliance propensity. This study drew upon data from a cluster-randomized controlled trial evaluating the efficacy of 4Rs + MTP, a literacy-based SEL program, on third and fourth grade teachers (n = 330) and their students (n = 5,081) across 60 New York City public elementary schools. Latent profile analysis indicated that measures of teacher responsiveness and amount of exposure to implementation supports contributed to the differentiation of profiles of high and low quality of implementation. Random forest analysis showed that more experienced teachers with low levels of professional burnout had high propensity to comply with high quality of implementation. Multilevel moderated mediation analysis indicated that 4Rs + MTP teachers with high compliance propensity were associated with higher classroom emotional support and lower children's school absences than their counterparts in the control group. These findings may inform debates in policy research about the importance of providing the supports teachers need to implement SEL school programs with high quality.

Management of water Issues in Taiz basin, Yemen

Generally, the study area including the city of Taiz, in particular is suffering from an acute shortage of water due to the increase of the growing demand on water for domestic and industrial needs as well as the water needs for agriculture in the region. In addition, the water resources in the study area are limited to the aquifers while water extraction rates exceed the natural recharge and the use is not effective. Therefore, it highlights the importance of water demand management to maintain the quantity and quality of drinking water and domestic use, irrigation and industry. The objectives of this study is to evaluate current and future vulnerability of water sources in the study area; Development of scenarios and analysis of future water balance to find out the best solution to the problem of water in Taiz basin as the study area; Select the appropriate scenario to resolve the water problem. The results of this study will assist decision makers in the field of water resources for better planning and management in the future. During the period 15/1/2013 to 15/4/2013 Implementation of the field study in 1501water points, these water points are distributed between 954 hand-dug well, 479 deep well, 50 springs, five water collection tanks, two dams, and six water retaining walls. For calculating the amount of water supply in the region and the amount of water deficit, in addition to knowing the amount of needs that must be secured in the future, Water Evaluation And Planning (WEAP) application as Decision Support System (DSS) to manage the supply and demand for water in Taiz basin as the study area. Evaluation of Integrated Community Case Management of Common Childhood Illness Program: Quality of Program Implementation in Hadiya Zone, Ethiopia

<i>Background:</i> Integrated community case management of common childhood illnesses (ICCM) is life saving curative health service delivery for common childhood illnesses (CHI) at health post and community level before developing a complication. ICCMCHI quality has little information in the study area. <i>Methods and Materials:</i> The focus of this evaluation was to evaluate the process of ICCMCHI program, and the approach of this evaluation was formative. Availability of program resources, compliance of health extension workers with ICCM guideline and acceptability of services were the dimensions of this study. The case study was conducted with both quantitative and qualitative data. Fifty-seven health posts were included from three woreda of the zone by deviant sampling techniques. For qualitative data health extension workers and health care managers were included. Data was analyzed by using SPSS soft ware version-20. Univariate, bivariate and multivariate logistic regression were used for quantitative data, and qualitative data was analyzed by using thematic analysis. <i>Result:</i> Compliance was 76% which is good even though most of health extension workers (HEW) were missing opportunities and identified reasons were an inadequate use of ICCM chart booklet and poor supportive supervision. 423 mothers or caregivers with sick under-five children were interviewed from 57 health posts. The mean score of client satisfaction on the quality of ICCM services received was 48.97. Satisfaction of caregivers with a mean score of client satisfaction on quality ICCM services was associated with primary level education, family annual income of and Muslim religion and received information about when to return for next revisit were found to be more likely to satisfy on the quality of ICCM services provided. <i>Conclusion and Recommendation:</i> Quality of ICCMCHI program was evaluated as good. There was an inadequate level of resource availability. Client’s satisfaction with integrated community case management of common childhood illness services was also good. All concerned bodies from local government and development partners are expected to strengthen regular supportive supervision, clinical mentoring, and continues performance review.

Program support matters: A systematic review on teacher- and school related contextual factors facilitating the implementation of social-emotional learning programs

School- and teacher-related contextual factors are those that often influence the quality of social-emotional learning (SEL) program implementation, which in turn has an impact on student outcomes. The current paper was interested in (1) Which teacher- and school-related contextual factors have been operationalized in articles that focus on the relationship between implementation quality indicators 200 and contextual factors in SEL program implementation in schools? (2) Which contextual factors would demonstrate the highest frequency of statistically significant relationships with SEL program implementation quality indicators and could therefore be more essential for ensuring the program outcomes? Determining the more significant contextual factors would allow for more focused and better-informed teacher professional development for supporting students’ social and emotional skills, it can also be useful for hypothesis development for quasi- experimental research designs of SEL program implementation on the school level. A systematic literature search was conducted in seven electronic databases and resulted in an initial sample of 1,281 records and additional journal and citation sampling of 19 additional records. 20 articles met the final inclusion criteria for the study (19 quantitative and one mixed methods). Inductive content analysis and quantitative analysis were employed to map the variables and estimate the relative frequency of statistically significant relationships across studies. Four categories of contextual factors were revealed: program support, school, teacher, and student categories. The results of the study reveal the diversity in contextual factors studied across SEL program implantation quality and bolster the relevance of program support factors (modeling activities during coaching and teacher–coach working relationship) for ensuring implementation quality. A link between teacher burnout and program dosage was revealed. Student factors emerged as a separate contextual level in school, with special attention to student baseline self-regulation that may influence SEL program implementation quality.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF 7Ps EDUCATION MARKETING MIX IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION INSTITUTION

The 7Ps of education Marketing Mix is an educational marketing mix that can directly promote an educational institution consisting of its components, namely Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Environment components. The purpose of the study is to describe the implementation of marketing using the 7Ps Education Marketing Mix in early childhood education institutions. A qualitative approach with a case study design was used as an approach in this research. Some data were collected using the process of observation, interviews, and documentation. Some data which were obtained from the data collection process then checked for correctness, suitability, and reliability through a triangulation process, and triangulation of methods and sources was used in this study. Some data which got from interviews were triangulated with data from documents and observations. In addition, some data from interviews of one respondent were also checked against other respondents and then concluded. The results of the study can be concluded that the marketing strategy for some components of; Product consisted of a history/overview of the institution, vision and mission, curriculum, implementation of learning, learning technology, school culture, student quality, institutional management, and educational programs. In terms of the aspect of price consisted of funding sources, such as costs to improve quality development, student administration, and student fees. The aspect of place consisted of facilities &amp; infrastructure, learning equipment, game equipment, strategic location, school environment, and public transportation. The promotion consisted of print media, electronic media, social media, participating in events, circular letters, and discounts. People consisted of educators &amp; education staff, strategic partners, organizational culture, and excellent service. The process consisted of public services, learning activities, and administrative activities. The physical environment consisted of school assets, buildings, and school facilities. The benefits of using the 7Ps Education Marketing Mix are as follows: the marketing process done by PAUD institution could be achieved with maximum results, simplifying and unifying various marketing activities into one activity so that marketing is easier to do and manage, limited resources could be used as effectively as possible, could divide some appropriate and balanced marketing tasks, could allocate responsibility to each person which based on the tasks and abilities possessed, facilitated the allocation of costs.&#x0D;

Evaluation of Electronic Service-Learning (e-Service-Learning) Projects in Mainland China under COVID-19

The use of electronic service-learning (e-Service-Learning or e-SL) is valuable under COVID-19 because we can provide the service without physical contact. Unfortunately, evaluation of e-SL is not widespread and there is no known study in different Chinese societies. Besides, there are many methodological limitations of the existing studies in the field. In this paper, we evaluated e-SL projects implemented in summer 2020 and 2021 in three sites in China. First, we examined service providers’ changes based on pretest and posttest scores (i.e., objective outcome evaluation) and their perceptions of the e-SL projects (i.e., subjective outcome evaluation based on the service providers). Second, graduate student assessors in Chinese mainland universities and teachers of primary school students (i.e., service recipients) rated the SL program quality, service providers’ performance and benefits to the service recipients after program completion (i.e., subjective outcome evaluation of SL projects based on other stakeholders). Third, trained graduate student assessors evaluated service quality during the implementation process (i.e., process evaluation). We found that university students (i.e., service providers) showed higher posttest scores in positive youth development attributes, leadership attributes and life satisfaction relative to pretest scores. Besides, service providers showed positive perceptions of their learning experience, own performance, benefits to the service recipients and themselves in the SL projects. Similarly, other stakeholders also had positive evaluation of the SL projects and related benefits. Finally, trained graduate student assessors had positive assessment of the quality of program implementation. The findings underscore the utility of e-SL involving both online teaching and learning as well as online service, particularly in a Chinese context.

Collaborative fidelity assessment planning for the evaluation of a community-based maltreatment prevention model: The family success network (FSN)

Fidelity assessment is considered a crucial component of a quality program implementation and evaluation, and the field of child welfare is increasingly recognizing the importance of fidelity assessment in establishing empirical support for child maltreatment prevention. However, fidelity is a complex construct that encompasses multiple dimensions, and program implementers in community-based interventions often face challenges in assessing fidelity in the context of multiple competing priorities with limited resources. As a result, very few child maltreatment prevention studies report detailed procedures for developing a fidelity assessment system. This descriptive research note seeks to fill this gap by describing the systematic process of engaging organizational leaders and service providers in fidelity assessment planning for the Family Success Network (FSN), a multi-component community-based maltreatment prevention model piloted to serve families in under-resourced communities in the Midwest. We discuss the model in the context of five key engagement constructs, including communication, partnership exchange, capacity-building, leadership, and collaboration.

EFFECT OF INTERNAL QUALITY ASSURANCE ON QUALITY CULTURE IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS IN TANZANIA

This paper aimed at assessing the effect of internal quality assurance on quality culture in higher education institutions in Tanzania. The hypothesis that the study intended to analyze is that internal quality assurance has no effect on quality culture. The study was designed using explanatory hypothesis-testing survey with quantitative approach. The study used a population of higher education institution in Tanzania and a sample from seven higher education institutions. The sample included 350 respondents from seven different higher education institutions in Tanzania. Data were collected using survey questionnaires and secondary data. Findings revealed that internal quality assurance mechanisms such as self evaluation, benchmarking, academic audit, peer review and external examination have an effect on quality culture in higher education institutions in Tanzania. The study concluded that internal quality assurance has an effect on quality culture in HEIs. The study recommends that internal quality assurance mechanisms should be supported by different stakeholders in order to assure involvement of commitment of staff and students in implementation of quality policies and quality programs in HEIs in Tanzania.

Only by implementing quality programs, investing in training, in qualified professionals and trained in Special and Inclusive Education, will we transform the school environment into healthier places for carrying out work, with joy, satisfaction and quality of life.

Migration of population in Sverdlovsk oblast: problems and solutions

In the context of the necessity to implement the national goals, one of the important areas of activity is support of positive demographic processes, promotion of population growth in the country, including through resettlement and migration of residents of other countries. This is relevant not only at the country level, but also at the regional level, each of which has features that must be considered when forming demographic policy. The article analyzes the effectiveness of the program to promote migration and resettlement of compatriots from other countries to Sverdlovsk oblast. Its advantages and limitations are highlighted, its effectiveness is considered on the example of immigrants from several CIS countries: Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. It is shown that despite the formal fulfillment of the objectives of the program (more than 28 thousand foreigners arrived in Sverdlovsk oblast within 9 years), some meaningful moments were missed, the selection of migrants based on the occupations in demand in the labor market of the region was not fully carry out. There are presented the directions of improving the program for the medium term, which are connected with new approaches to raising the quality of program implementation in Sverdlovsk oblast. It is shown that it is necessary to formalize and improve the mechanism for attracting foreign labor to the region using notification quotas, organized recruitment, modification of selection criteria for the point system, development of the material base and linguistic community for an accelerated adaptation. Analysis showed that promotion of resettlement is necessary with relation to professionals in relevant areas of activity (doctors, teachers), while the demand for unskilled labor is satisfied by migrants.
