Career Interests Mapping on Economics Education Students in Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya

The selection of economics education students in this research considers the suitability of the student's career interests aiming to align the graduates' learning outcomes with the study program wishes to achieve, both in the short and long term. Career interests mapping among students aims to determine the alignment of students' interests with the graduate profile achievement targets that the economics education study program wishes to achieve. This is useful as reflection material for study programs to create relevant curricula that will adequately prepare undergraduate graduates. The RMIB was used as the interest-measuring instrument in this research. Its widespread use in academic and professional contexts has demonstrated its efficacy intracking trends in students' career interests. Based on the research's findings, the three highest-ranking jobs among respondents—a total of 69 students—are the subject of career information, which is the primary concern according to the RMIB assessment. Among all students, the three most popular professional paths were computational (18%), social services (16%), and clerical (16%). The three fields with the highest career interest rates among male students were found to be clerical (20%), computational (14%), and social service (11%). In contrast, the fields with the highest career interest rates among female students were computational (20%), social service (18%), and clerical (12%). According to the research's data, there is a correlation between the learning outcomes of graduates (CPL) from the economics education study program in the teaching and educational faculty at Muhammadiyah University of Palangkaraya for the 2023–2024 academic year and the career interests of program participants.

The development of science and technology has made how many jobs done by humans have been taken over by machines so that the remaining work is very little and more specific for humans to do.
 The curriculum given to the students aims to provide a variety of knowledge and skills so that they can complete various assignments and be placed in various positions. This condition does not meet the needs of the world of work today, because workers only do specific jobs. Another challenge is that several large companies no longer require a diploma for their prospective workers; instead, it is based on the skills certification mastered by future workers.
 This phenomenon is a challenge for education providers to reorient the profile of graduates who have been determined. One way is to reform the curriculum to improve the student's skills and mastery of digital information literacy, data processing, visualization, and modern office technology so that graduates can work in the modern office era.

Students' Perceptions of Educational Planning Course Curriculum Development

Educational planning is one of the compulsory subjects to achieve one of the educational administration graduate profiles, namely becoming an educational planner. However, with the development of science and technology and adapting it to the current needs of students, it is necessary to conduct research for curriculum development for educational planning courses.For this reason, the purpose of this paper is to find out student perceptions of student perceptions of curriculum development for the Education Planning Course. The method used is Mix (mixture) that is qualitative and qualitative. Data collection using questionnaires, documentation, observation and interviews. The results of the research show that the Education Planning Course needs to be developed. Good learning is project-based using actual and updated data. an area. Good learning uses digital media or applications that make it easier to calculate and obtain valid data and reduce human error.

Examining the level of perceived achievement of complex thinking competency in health sciences students and its relevance to the graduate profile

This article presents the findings of a study conducted on health sciences students in their last semester of training regarding their perceived achievement of the complex thinking competency and its sub-competencies. The objective was to gain insight into how these students perceive the cognitive competencies and skills acquired during their university career as relevant to meet the challenges of their future professions. This study contrasts the perception of achievement of complex thinking competence by gender of the participants, as well as compared to students from other disciplines, with the intention of identifying significant differences. This competency's selection lies in its relevance to decision-making when facing problems, which is fundamental for any contemporary professional. This study relied on a representative convenience sample of graduating candidates from a university in western Mexico. Methodologically, the researchers used descriptive analyses and a validated instrument. The results indicated that the sample students' perceived achievement was very high and balanced, i.e., no significant differences existed by gender or the perception of their sub-competencies. This study revealed a significant difference compared to other disciplinary areas; the medical and health sciences graduate candidates' perceived achievement of competency development was higher.

Method: The research methods used are conceptual approach, socio-legal approach, and hermeneutic to portray and analyze, and also to dissect the problems in curriculum of legal education and social justice education in particular as an attempt to answer the problems of law in the society. Results: Legal education is one of the vehicles to achieve the socially just society through the infusion of values and social justice study in the learning curriculum of law in law schools so that the institutions of legal education can create reliable profiles of graduates in practicing law in a sense that these graduates hold legal and social capacity to construct a socially just society.

Academic management of university virtual education: An analysis from the perception of students, teachers, and managers

Currently, many universities are developing virtual education as an option for the training of future professionals. The objective of this study is to analyze aspects of the academic management of university virtual education from the perspective of students, teachers, and administrators. A mixed approach and non-experimental design were applied. Semi-structured interviews and surveys were used. The participants were 8 managers, 340 students, and 75 teachers from Peru, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain, from universities where virtual education is offered. The results show that 51% of teachers agree with the management, 50% accept the adequate use of technological tools, and only 20% say that virtual classes are effective. Concerning students, 45% agree with the management, but only 15% feel that they are attended to when problems arise in the virtual modality. The managers determine relevant aspects such as the importance of teacher training, having technological tools to ensure learning, and providing a comprehensive academic service, as is provided in the in-person modality. It is concluded that academic management in the virtual modality should prioritize the improvement of satisfaction levels of both students and teachers through adaptation processes, training, performance evaluation, attention, and problem-solving, as well as the use of virtual platforms that allow the development of competencies of the graduate profile and contribute to the comprehensive training of future professionals.

Employment and Performance of Graduates: Basis for an Extension Project

One of the biggest challenges in teacher education isemployment. Teacher education graduates are requiredto pass the Board License Examination for ProfessionalTeachers (BLEPT) before applying to a public school.We conducted this study to identify the profile,employment status, BLEPT performance, and trainingneeds of teacher education graduates. A descriptivemethod, documentary analysis, a questionnaire, and amediated interview were utilized. The frequencycounts, percentages, and ranks were used to analyzedata. Results showed that most of the graduates arefemale and specialize in general education, andtechnology and livelihood education. There are66.20% graduates who passed the BLEPT, and 61.90%are already employed. Moreover, 116 alumni areteaching in both public and private schools; 67.77% ofthem need training on teaching strategies. The study'soutput is the formulation of an extension project toassist the alumni in enhancing their performance intheir workplace. This extension project might addressgaps in teaching competencies of graduates that couldcontribute to their promotion and employment.Moreover, this extension initiative will be of great helpfor those who failed in the licensure examination.

Robust compromise multicriteria decision model to evaluate the level of achievement of graduation profile

We propose an approach of a robust compromise multi-criteria decision-making model that evaluates the level of competency achievement in graduation profiles. Quantitative information on qualifications of specific and generic competencies of a graduation profile was collected from professors, graduates, employers, community partners, and students' self-perception of achievement. This information was categorized using ordinal Likert scales generated through Monte Carlo simulation methods and copula modeling. The proposed model is validated using optimization methods. It provides a single score for the level of competency achievement, and the analysis is conducted using descriptive statistics and multivariate analysis of clusters. Simulated scenarios revealed that higher weights given by stakeholders in the construction of the robust compromise score were associated with higher evaluation scores of competencies from the same stakeholders. Scenarios with negative correlations between stakeholder qualifications about level of achievement of graduation profile yielded lower scores in the robust compromise multi-criteria decision-making model. Our proposal for Robust Compromise Multi-Criteria Decision Making Model offers more precise single scores, reducing the epistemological uncertainty associated with the input information.

Implementation of an Integrated Quality Assurance System in Improving Learning Quality

The purpose of this research is to find out how the system, principles of improvement, and model of developing an integrated quality assurance system improve the quality of learning. Judging from the type, this research is library research including the type of library research. Library research is research, whose data collection is done by collecting data from various literatures. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach, which emphasizes its analysis of the process of drawing comparative conclusions and on analyzing the dynamics of the relationship between observed phenomena using scientific logic. The data were analyzed by data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that there are management procedures and tools for creating qualitative changes in learning quality. Starting from the input in the form of policies, systemized application processes, and outputs in the form of achieving the profile and quality of graduates.

Postgraduate medical education in Colombia. Proposals to improve it

After 70 years of the formalization of medical specialties in Colombia, very little progress has been made in the educational models for the acquisition of clinical competencies in these postgraduate programs.
 Furthermore, although there is already a law on human resources in health, the Colombian medical education system lacks specific regulations on the training of health professionals (physicians) in the different medical specialty programs offered in the country.
 Likewise, at present, factors such as the financial crisis of public hospitals, the limited number of accredited hospitals and the growing number of medical schools and specialization programs, affect the comprehensive and equal development of medical competencies of professionals who are trained as specialists in the different postgraduate medical programs offered in Colombia. 
 In view of the above, the purpose of this article is to present a proposal for postgraduate medical education that prioritizes the adequate acquisition of competencies over compliance with the time required to complete the curricula of the different medical specialties. However, this involves several prerequisites: a regulatory body in charge of overseeing and monitoring the training of medical residents or specialists in the country; strong training in university teaching for professors practicing in medical schools and university hospitals; the standardization of the graduates profile; adequate financing of university hospitals, as well as appropriate support in the process of accreditation as such, and the self-evaluation and continuous improvement of postgraduate medical programs.

A Tracer Study of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management Graduates of AIMS Batch 2015–2020

In the recent findings of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), “the four-year collegiate programs of Business Administration, Information Technology, Hotel and Restaurant Management and Electronics Engineering indicated a mismatch with the industry requirements (Flores, 2013). Taking this into consideration, CHED further integrated in their “Strategic Plan for 2011 – 2016” some programs, activities, and projects that would address the mismatch while the CHED Strategic Plan for 2017-2022 (2017) aims to produce higher education graduates who are competent and well-rounded global citizens who possess the intrapersonal, interpersonal, social and cognitive competencies and attributes necessary to lead, excel and compete in the 21st century. The above endeavors coincided with the study’s objective to trace the present employment status of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) graduates of the Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS) from school year 2015 to 2020. Descriptive-survey method was used in determining the personal and employment profiles of the HRM graduates, the rate of contribution of the AIMS-BSHRM program, and the concerns and other considerations on their current job. Sixty-two (62) graduates of Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management of Asian Institute of Maritime Studies who graduated from school year 2015 to 2020 have responded to the tracer questionnaire. To analyze the data, frequency count, percentage, and weighted mean were used. Results revealed that majority of the respondents were able to successfully find a job in less than a year. However, because of family concerns, lack of connection, health concerns and even lack of work experience, the HRM graduates landed in a job that is not related to their program of study. Some have decided to put up their own businesses while some decided to work in the BPO industry and have been there for a few years already. Though the respondents are satisfied on their present employment, most of them are still planning to change careers and shift a job related to their program. On the other hand, the top three (3) skills that AIMS helped develop among the graduates are: a) Human Relation Skills (82.26%); b) Communication Skills (74.19%); c) Initiative (53.23%) while the top three values acquired and developed from studying at AIMS are: a) Integrity (82.26%); b) Achievement (77.42%); and c) Respect for Others (75.81%). On the other hand, the competencies/skills they recommend AIMS to develop include: a) Strategy and Innovation (87.10%); b) Teamwork (79.03%); and c) Human Relation Skills (51.61%). Based on the results, it is recommended that the administrators and curriculum developers of the BSHM program of AIMS to revisit the current curriculum and syllabi used in major courses and make sure that there are topics and activities that will help enhance and develop the students’ creativity, strategy and innovation. It also recommended that the HM Department of AIMS continue to organize events that will give students additional knowledge and experience that will enhance their interpersonal and human relation skills.

Collective health and health training: analysis based on pedagogical course projects

The training of health professionals has been the object of restructuring, transcending the idea of the closed curriculum. The new model, integrator, considers Collective Health as a field of knowledge and practices for the promotion and protection of health. This study aims to investigate, in the Pedagogical Projects of Courses (PPCs) of a private Higher Education Institution, approaches that direct training from the perspective of Collective Health. This is a documentary research with a qualitative approach, carried out in 2022. Ten Pedagogical Projects of specific undergraduate courses in the Greater Health Area were analyzed. The locus was a university center located in the city of Sobral-CE. The relationship between the professional profile of graduates and the availability of menus that addressed Collective Health in the formation of the graduate were researched. Data analysis was contemplated with legislation relevant to Public Health. Collective Health was perceived in the proposal of generalist graduate profile and disciplines directly or indirectly mentioned as Collective Health. It is concluded that the PPC analyzed approach Collective Health as an important field of knowledge that articulates knowledge and practices from the perspective of health promotion, but mainly rescues the importance of understanding the collective dimension as part of the subject's development.

Differences in Academic Self-Efficacy Levels in Terms of the Priority Choices of Graduate Profiles on College Students

Background: Students with good academic self-efficacy are reported to be able to handle academic stress and non-academic stress. To have academic self-efficacy needs to be supported by a clear higher education orientation. Furthermore, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has a graduate profile orientation called COMPLETE (Communicator, Professional, Leader, Thinker, Entrepreneur, Educator). Study aims: (1) to see differences in graduate profile choice priorities affect academic self-efficacy among UNDIP students and (2) explore other demographic factors that can affect academic self-efficacy. Method: This study uses a survey method with 2,889 first-year college students’ participants. The instrument used in this study was The Beliefs in Educational Success Test (BEST) and a priority survey that students wanted after graduate based on COMPLETE. Data analysis used in this study is the Independent Sample T-Test. Result: The results of this study found that students with a graduate profile orientation as a Leader (p = 0.000) had significantly higher academic self-efficacy compared to other graduate profile orientations. Furthermore, this study also found that gender (p= 0.019), differences in faculty clusters (p= 0.012), and scholarship ownership (p= 0.053) influenced academic self-efficacy in students. Conclusion: Differences in graduate profile orientation are proven to affect academic self-efficacy in students. These findings provide recommendations for campus policy holders, psychology practitioners, and further research to present appropriate programs and strategies in instilling graduate profile values in students.

Perception of the Level of Competency of Candidates for Graduation: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Complex Thinking.

Complex thinking is a cognitive skill that focuses on the integrated analysis and synthesis of information with a systemic and critical perspective that enables creative decision-making in the face of complex realities or challenges. At the educational level, it is valued as a transdisciplinary competency, meaning it is relevant for individuals regardless of their profession or field of study. This article presents the results of measuring the perceived achievement of complex thinking among 830 graduating students from a technological university in Mexico, aiming to identify possible significant differences based on their discipline or major. Methodologically, a multivariate descriptive statistical analysis was performed using R and RStudio software, including calculation of means and standard deviations, violin plots, boxplot and ANOVA significance analysis, and t-test. The results show that the differences were not statistically significant in all the disciplines, although it is possible to note significant differences, which reveals a differentiated behavior in the process of formation and development of complex thinking according to the discipline of study. In conclusion, the present study shows that the students' areas of training are associated with differences in perception of complex thinking and its associated sub-competencies, thus differentiating this ability in their graduation profile. This article contributes to the existing literature on the formation and development of complex thinking and its sub-competencies as relevant professional skills for lifelong learning.

Analysis of the Relevance of Skills and Graduate Performance (Study at the Economic Education Study Program of the Open University)

Abstract contains research This research aims to 1) find out the whereabouts of graduates (alumni) and establish continuous communication with economic education alumni, 2) identify competency and skill profiles of graduates, 3) find out the relevance of curriculum implementation to labor market needs . This skill and performance relevance analysis study is a qualitative descriptive research, because the problems discussed in this research are not related to numbers, but are related to describing, breaking down and illustrating a problem that is currently occurring. The population of this research is all alumni of economic education study programs from various classes and all companies/institutions/agencies, both state and private, where the alumni work. The sample in this research are alumni who can be contacted face to face or virtually. Data collection was carried out by distributing tracer study questionnaires directly to alumni by: (a) sending questionnaires to the address where the alumni work; (b) distribute questionnaires directly to alumni when there are alumni activities; (c) distribute the tracer study questionnaire link to alumni. Data is analyzed to obtain information from alumni and graduate users. This data was analyzed using descriptive statistics. The data analyzed includes aspects as explained in the questionnaire. The results of the analysis will be used to make improvements to the management system of the Economic Education Study Program.

Factors influencing assessment in higher education: Empirical evidence from physical education and fitness compulsory courses in Indonesia

The present study delves into the multifarious factors that underpin students' learning assessment in higher education. Through the utilisation of an exploratory sequential mixed methods design, the researchers scrutinise the evaluation of 5,564 students by 23 lecturers, taking into consideration 9 characteristics. To that end, ANOVA and T-test are employed to analyse the mandatory course, and three lecturers who embody distinct criteria are interviewed, and their responses are subjected to a thematic analysis. The results indicate that assessment results are significantly different based on lecturers' working experience (teaching experience [F= 20.1, p= 0.000] and age [F= 48.6, p= 0.000]), academic background (department [F= 33.8, p= 0.000] and skills [F= 30.17, p= 0.000]), and teaching load (credit unit (credit unit) [F= 48.7, p= 0.000], number of classes taught [F= 61.4, p= 0.000] and teaching partners [F= 79.3, p=0.000]). Meanwhile, there is no difference in assessment results based on lecturers' qualifications (certificates [t= -0.587, p= 0.557] and latest degree [F= 2.56, p= 0.074]). The qualitative data reveals that four crucial factors - idealism, mindset, grading standard, and perspective - account for the variance observed in compulsory courses. The study's results underscore the need for universities to devise pedagogical strategies based on lecturers' attributes, as these factors bear a direct impact on the attainment of the desired graduate profiles as reflected in students' academic performance in specific courses.

Análisis de la equidad educativa: resultados de ingreso, egreso y demora en las carreras de salud y su relación con las variables socioeducativas

IntroductionTo consider higher education as a Human Right implies paying attention to equal opportunities in access, permanence and graduation. From this perspective, equity is recognized as a feature of educational quality.It is considered that there is equity when access, permanence or graduation do not depend on socioeconomic and demographic characteristics of the households, physical abilities or ethnicity of students. The study objective was to analyze the relationship between demographic and socio-educational variables with the results of the admission process, the discharge condition and the delay to complete the studies. This information is considered to be important as a guide for institutional educational policies. MethodsQuantitative, descriptive, census study on 18 cohorts of applicants and 10 cohorts of Medicine, Nursing and Technical students at a Latin American, state and free university. ResultsThe jurisdiction of the secondary school and the educational level of the mother and father are two characteristics that differentiate the profile of the entrants to the Medicine career, from the applicants in general and from the entrants to the other health careers. These characteristics are accentuated in the graduation profile and the delay in completing the degree. ConclusionInstitutional practices would not mitigate the socio-educational inequalities of origin, especially in the Medicine career. The characterization of applicants, entrants, and graduates according to demographic and socio-educational variables is a way to make educational equity visible, valuable information to review educational policies for admission, permanence and graduation.

ENTREPRENEURIAL OPPORTUNITIES: BUSINESS REALITIES FOR STUDENTS IN THE MIDST OF CHANGES IN ASN TEACHER RECRUITMENT REGULATIONS

This article aims to explain the importance of education study program students and to see entrepreneurial opportunities amid changes in teacher recruitment regulations with ASN status. It is undeniable that the main hope for students of the education study program when they finish, can compete and graduate to become PNS or PPPK teachers, but amid changes in regulations related to recruitment, this hope may or may not be realized, so awareness is needed to be able to see entrepreneurial opportunities in addition to still trying to prepare abilities, towards competition in the recruitment process. The study uses qualitative research with a literature study approach. Based on the analysis results, it can be explained that IAHN Gde Pudja Mataram has three educational study programs: the Hindu Religious Education Study Program, Early Childhood Education, and Hindu Religious Arts and Culture Education. The three study programs emphasize the profile of graduates as professional educators and the profile to become entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurial opportunities that can be taken certainly adjust to the science of the study program; for example, the PAUD study program forms a literacy and counting course business, and the Hindu religious education study program can open a business for making and selling upakara tools. The art education study program takes business opportunities such as opening art courses, makeup artists, etc. The results of this study can become a reference library for relevant research in the future, and the information contained in this study can open and strengthen insights about the importance of entrepreneurship for students of education study programs
