Knowledge and engineering parameter mapping technology supporting product conceptual design

In the fuzzy front stage of product conceptual design, requirements are often expressed briefly as the expectation of product effect. However, the mapping relationship between this kind of effect expectation requirement and product design knowledge is difficult to explore and establish, and it is more difficult to guide designing process objectively. In order to expand product conceptual design ideas, professionally search the design solution space, and improve user satisfaction, this article proposes product design knowledge and engineering parameter mapping technologies that support conceptual design: First, construct a domain knowledge graph based on patent text. Extract entities-such as effect knowledge, functional knowledge, technical knowledge, and structural knowledge-and inter-entity relationships from patent texts through BERT technology to realize the construction of domain knowledge graph; Second, in view of the fuzziness and incompleteness of the front stage design requirements, by introducing General Engineering Parameters (GEPs), construct the domain product-engineering parameter-structure (PGS) mapping relationship library. On the one hand, the library realizes the professional representation and completion of the product design requirements from the engineering perspective; on the other hand, it improves the mapping relationship between the difficult-to-identify relationships between design requirements and their structural solutions in the domain knowledge graph; Third, a product conceptual design process model based on PGS is proposed. The model takes the professional and complete requirements expressed as engineering parameters as input, which matches patent candidate sets through effect knowledge in the domain knowledge graph. Then select and construct a structural solution morphology matrix through computational evaluation methods to support the generation of product design conceptions; Finally, an example of manipulator design verifies the effectiveness of the knowledge library and the technical solution proposed by this research.

Implementation of a Clinical Leadership Curriculum for Pediatric Residents.

IntroductionClinical leadership is an essential skill for physicians, empowering them to lead and coordinate teams, communicate clearly under various conditions, model positive behaviors, display emotional intelligence, and ultimately improve patient care outcomes. However, there are currently no standardized residency curricula or competency-based assessments for clinical leadership, as residents often assimilate leadership skills through trial-and-error or observation of their clinical faculty. By utilizing a comprehensive needs assessment and synthesizing evidence-based practices, we developed and implemented a longitudinal and skills-based clinical leadership curriculum for pediatric residents.MethodsWe modeled our clinical leadership curriculum after Kern's 6-step approach to curricular development and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education competency requirements for professionalism. We identified topics based on a resident needs assessment and synthesized evidence from published practices. The curriculum was implemented through both monthly facilitated group sessions and independent learning modules.Results44 postgraduate year-2 (PGY-2) and PGY-3 pediatric residents participated in at least one monthly session of the clinical leadership curriculum. 27 (61%) completed the survey to evaluate the efficacy of the curriculum. Of the respondents, 23 (85%) residents found the leadership sessions useful, 4 (15%) were neutral, and none (0%) rated the sessions as not useful. 26 (96%) residents reported that the sessions should be continued.ConclusionThe clinical leadership curriculum has been received favorably by senior pediatric residents at our institution. Our next steps are to pilot the curriculum within residency programs of different specialties at our own institution as well as with pediatric residencies at other institutions.

Medical visual question answering via corresponding feature fusion combined with semantic attention.

Medical visual question answering (Med-VQA) aims to leverage a pre-trained artificial intelligence model to answer clinical questions raised by doctors or patients regarding radiology images. However, owing to the high professional requirements in the medical field and the difficulty of annotating medical data, Med-VQA lacks sufficient large-scale, well-annotated radiology images for training. Researchers have mainly focused on improving the ability of the model's visual feature extractor to address this problem. However, there are few researches focused on the textual feature extraction, and most of them underestimated the interactions between corresponding visual and textual features. In this study, we propose a corresponding feature fusion (CFF) method to strengthen the interactions of specific features from corresponding radiology images and questions. In addition, we designed a semantic attention (SA) module for textual feature extraction. This helps the model consciously focus on the meaningful words in various questions while reducing the attention spent on insignificant information. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve competitive results in two benchmark datasets and outperform existing state-of-the-art methods on answer prediction accuracy. Experimental results also prove that our model is capable of semantic understanding during answer prediction, which has certain advantages in Med-VQA.

Methods of Forming the Future Designers’ Readiness for Professional and Scientific Research Activities

The authors state that the rapid penetration of design into every field of human life, the convergence of material production with art, the development of design technologies, and increasing the social impact of design have significantly heightened professional requirements for modern designers. However, the modern system of design education does not prepare students for the challenges they will face in the nearest future. The methodological approaches necessary for improving future designers’ professional training quality are determined. The empirical investigations on the future designers’ readiness for professional and scientific research activities are analysed. Methods of boosting the future designers’ ability to carry out scientific research and organising professional design activities are offered.

Probability Differential-Based Class Label Noise Purification for Object Detection in Aerial Images

Modern object detection for aerial images requires numerous annotated data. However, the data annotation process inevitably introduces noise due to the bird’s eye view perspective of aerial images and the professional requirements of annotations. While recent noise-robust object detection methods achieved great success, the noise side-effect during the early training stage was still a problem. As demonstrated in this letter, noise during the early training stage will cumulatively affect the final performance. Based on the above observations, we propose a training strategy called correction maximization training to purify the noisy annotations and then train models. Specifically, we design a novel noise filter called the probability differential (PD) to identify and revise wrong labels. After purification, we train the detector with the revised dataset. Compared to existing works, the proposed method could be adapted in most modern object detectors (e.g., Faster RCNN and RetinaNet) and requires little hyperparameter tuning across different datasets and models. Extensive experiments on DOTA show that the proposed method achieves state-of-the-art results with both symmetric and asymmetric noise.

CHARACTERISTICS OF PROFESSIONAL BURNOUT OF MILITARY SERVANTS: PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECT

The article is devoted to the examination of the peculiarities of professional burnout of military personnel from the point of view of the psychological aspect. The content of the concept of professional burnout in domestic and foreign scientific literature is considered. The peculiarities of the profession of military personnel and its influence on the occurrence of professional burnout are characterized. The work also analyzes the dependence of the occurrence of professional burnout and stress on modern social, economic, political and military realities. Factors and peculiarities of the occurrence of professional burnout in connection with excessive workload, lack of self-development opportunities, irregular stay in the service, presence of emotional exhaustion and the peculiarity of professional requirements for military personnel are given. The psychological content of the outlined factors that determine the development of professional burnout in servicemen was revealed, and the patterns of the negative impact of professional burnout on the personality and activities of servicemen were established. A theoretical model for the prevention of professional burnout of military personnel has been developed, which provides for various areas of psychological assistance. A conclusion was made regarding the feasibility of developing anti-stress skills of servicemen, the need to work with a psychologist, improving the system of psychological support for servicemen and creating an effective system for preventing professional burnout as a complex of various socio-economic, legal, organizational, service, educational, medical and psychological measures. In addition, the need to create favorable psychological conditions for preserving the mental and psychological health of military personnel, especially in the modern conditions of a full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine, is substantiated. The proposed study sheds the light of truth on a number of important problems related to the professional burnout of military personnel in modern conditions and can be used by psychologists, psychotherapists, scientists and other specialists who work with the problems of the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and work on ways to solve them.

A Magyar Nemzeti Helynévtár Programról

On the Hungarian National Toponym Registry The paper introduces the key antecedents of the Hungarian National Toponym Registry Program supported by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and presents the main motivations behind the research project and its chief objectives. The prehistory of a comprehensive Hungarian toponym registry goes back to the dictionaries presenting the corpus of common nouns. In the second half of the 19th century, at the time of the creation of the Dictionary of the Hungarian language (A magyar nyelv szótára, CzF.), it was Frigyes Pesty who first organized com¬prehensive toponym collection activities in 1864. In the middle of the 20th century, the publication of the Explanatory dictionary of the Hungarian language (A ma¬gyar nyelv értelmező szótára, ÉrtSz.) coincided with the second major toponym collection project. It was also due to their inefficacy, however, that at the time of the publication of the Comprehensive dictionary of the Hungarian language (A magyar nyelv nagy szótára, Nszt.) those aspirations also appeared that focused on the creation of digital toponym registries that culminated in the plan for the Hungarian National Toponym Registry. This work was carried out in the topo¬nymist workshops of the University of Debrecen and Eötvös Loránd University but practically all toponym scholars have joined the program both from Hungary and the trans-border regions. The fact that this program needs to be carried out now is made even clearer by two circumstances. First, the population decrease of Hungarians outside Hungary and the continuous shrinking of the Hungarian language area. Second, the pro¬cesses of social modernization that significantly modify the ways people use space and thus also affect toponym awareness. Under these circumstances, the collection of toponyms still used today may also be considered as a way of saving linguistic and cultural records and heritage. The toponym registry also containing historical toponyms provides unparalleled resources for a host of academic dis¬ciplines while also enriching Hungarian toponym culture. In line with strict professional requirements, the Hungarian National Toponym Registry is created as a digital database but the material included in it will also be published in print form. Due to the magnitude of the work, hundreds of experts participate in it. The academic basis of the program is provided by universities of the Carpathian Basin offering programs in Hungarian Studies where special activ¬ities are offered primarily for Hungarian majors, also supported by online educa¬tional materials. The Hungarian National Toponym Registry is an exceptional opportunity for Hungarian toponomastics for the creation of a comprehensive toponym registry covering the entire Hungarian language area and representing both contemporary and historical name usage.

The present study aims to research and compare the process of the development of stage skills in music and theater college students and vocal-performance skills in future actors to identify the most effective model of vocational training of musical actors which appears to be up-to-date and in demand due to the development of the sphere of culture and entertainment, as well as increased competition among musical theatres and musical actors. The object under study is the process of the development of stage skills in students of musical and theater and acting colleges in the context of professional requirements for musical actors. The study compares the processes of professional realization and the development of stage skills in future musical theater actors and the training of actors in vocal performance to prepare them for creative work in the genre of musicals. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the identification of the specific characteristics of vocational training of future musical theatre actors, the identification of the specific characteristics of stage skills development in future musical actors, and the formulation of major professional requirements for training future actors for work in musical performances. The practical significance of the work is due to the fact that the study results can be used by teachers to improve the vocational training of musical actors, as well as by theater managers and producers in the selection of artists to participate in musicals.

ИСПОЛЬЗОВАНИЕ ЦИФРОВОГО УЧЕБНО-МЕТОДИЧЕСКОГО КОМПЛЕКСА «ШКОЛА SKILLS. PRO ПРОФЕССИИ» В РАБОТЕ ПО ПРОФЕССИОНАЛЬНОМУ САМООПРЕДЕЛЕНИЮ СТАРШЕКЛАССНИКОВ

Statement of the problem. Often, due to the lack of knowledge about the world of professions, the divergent influence of the family, school and the media in matters of professional identification, the lack of high-quality professional information, the lack of practical experience in professional activities, high school graduates cannot accurately determine the stages of further education, that is, build an individual educational route of professional identification. To increase the efficiency of the process of professional identification of a high school graduate, assistance is required not only in choosing a profession, but also in finding resources to develop and implement an adequate educational and professional scenario, as well as in training in the independent use of these resources. Today’s digital technologies are of help. The purpose of the article is to present (reveal) the capabilities of the digital educational and methodological complex “School skills. Pro Professions” in the work on vocational guidance and professional identification of high school students in an interactive environment. The methodological basis of the study includes the works by E.A. Klimov, N.S. Pryazhnikov, S.N. Chistyakova and other Russian and foreign researchers (S. Fukuyama, J. Golland, E. Bern). Professional identification of a person is defined as a conscious process of building a personal professional plan when choosing a profession on the basis of analysis, assessment of the internal resources of the subject of choice, correlation with the requirements of the profession, as well as the readiness of the person for professional choice. Professional identification is connected with the formation of components of the psychological system of professional formation and realization of personality on the basis of knowledge/self-knowledge and assessment/self-assessment of social and professional requirements, conditions of professionalization and individual capabilities of the subject of work. Research results. The article reveals the possibilities of the digital educational and methodological complex “School skills. Pro Profession” in the work on vocational guidance and professional identification of high school students in an interactive environment. Digital Educational and Methodological Complex (DEMC) is presented as a structured set of educational tools, electronic normative and educational documentation, a set of electronic educational resources, information and communication technology tools and automated systems containing interconnected content and intended for joint use by participants for effective training in programmes for the development of soft skills, as well as studying up educational subjects, courses, disciplines on professional identification in the context of digital transformation of the educational process. Conclusions. The introduction of information technologies in such a field of development of high school students as a choice of a future profession creates conditions for strengthening the integration of educational and subject areas with extracurricular practice, additional education, strengthening the specialized training of schoolchildren on the basis of variability of programmes, taking into account their interests, inclinations, abilities and demands of the labour market, gaining practical experience for a reasonable choice of a training profile, which ensures the effectiveness of high school students building an individual route of professional identification.

COMPETENCE APPROACH TO ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF AUDITORS OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES

An analysis of the specifics of the formation of a set of of competencies formation for the system of academic and professional training of specialists in audit and monitoring of information systems and technologies is carried out. It is determined that the training system should be formed in accordance with the global system of service industry standardization and international requirements and standards. The essence of the competencies formation on the basis of American and European standards in the field of information systems and technologies is revealed. The hierarchical sequence of the implementation of the world system of standardization for audit and quality control of information systems and technologies functioning in order to determine requirements to competences of the auditor of information technologies is defined. Practical tasks of the process of obtaining objective, qualitative and quantitative assessments of the current state of information infrastructure in accordance with the defined criteria, requirements and quality indicators are highlighted. The main features of competencies, skills, knowledge of specialists in audit and monitoring of information systems and technologies formation are identified. Formation of basic academic and professional competencies of specialists in the audit of information systems and technologies on the basis of the domain educational model Competency Model Clearinghouse is presented. It has been created the competence model for formation of the set of knowledge, skills and abilities during organization and support of information systems and technologies audit, control and monitoring. Tasks and concept of specialists’ integral competence are defined. The list of academic and professional competences is formed, basic abilities and skills of specialists in information systems and technologies audit are defined as well. Classes and levels of competencies are determined, as well as correspondent to them positions in the field of audit of information systems and information technologies of the industry sector. Special attention is paid to the international generally oriented approaches to standardization of educational services and competencies levels in accordance with professional requirements to specialists in the field of information technology audit system. Basic levels of professional certification of information systems auditors, which should provide a high quality level of a wide range of services in the field of information technologies and information security, have been determined.

Challenge-appraisal profiles of beginning teachers and inter-profile differences in self-efficacy, self-regulation, and emotions

ABSTRACT This paper focusses on beginning teachers’ appraisals of the challenge posed by their various professional requirements, and the associated buffering and boosting effects of individual resources. Challenge appraisal is relevant for professionalisation, but also risks energy loss, which hinders professionalisation. In this study, beginning teachers (n = 864) from primary and secondary schools in Switzerland and Germany were asked by questionnaire to report how challenging they found certain professional requirements (developmental tasks that relate to the career-entry stage), and to self-report their levels of certain individual resources. Six challenge-appraisal profiles were identified, which showed task-specific differences as well as differing individual-resource profiles. Self-efficacy, satisfaction, and dissociation reduced perceived challenge, while strain and engagement increased it. Two profiles showed a risk of stagnation and emotional exhaustion. Possessing reflexive and metacognitive skills concerning challenge appraisals and self-regulation may help student-teachers’ professionalisation.

Negative Emotions in Chinese Frontline Medical Staff During the Early Stage of the COVID-19 Epidemic: Status, Trend, and Influential Pathways Based on a National Investigation.

Objective: The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), declared as a major public health emergency, has had profound effects on public mental health especially emotional status. Due to professional requirements, medical staff are at a higher risk of infection, which might induce stronger negative emotions. This study aims to reveal the emotional status of Chinese frontline medical staff in the early epidemic period to better maintain their mental health, and provide adequate psychological support for them.Methods: A national online survey was carried out in China at the early stage of the COVID-19 epidemic. In total, 3025 Chinese frontline medical staff took part in this investigation which utilized a general information questionnaire, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), and the Berkeley Expressivity Questionnaire (BEQ).Results: At the early stage of COVID-19, anxiety was the most common negative emotion of Chinese medical staff, followed by sadness, fear, and anger, mainly at a mild degree, which declined gradually over time. Nurses had the highest level of negative emotions compared with doctors and other healthcare workers. Women experienced more fear than men, younger and unmarried medical staff had more anxiety and fear compared with elders and married ones. Risk perception and emotional expressivity increased negative emotions, cognitive reappraisal reduced negative emotions, while negative emotions led to more avoidant behavior and more physical health disturbances, in which negative emotions mediated the effect of risk perception on avoidant behavior tendency in the model test.Conclusion: Chinese frontline medical staff experienced a mild level of negative emotions at the early stage of COVID-19, which decreased gradually over time. The findings suggest that during the epidemic, nurses' mental health should be extensively attended to, as well as women, younger, and unmarried medical staff. To better ensure their mental health, reducing risk perception and improving cognitive reappraisal might be important, which are potentially valuable to form targeted psychological interventions and emotional guidance under crisis in the future.

A narrative review exploring the professional practice training requirement of therapeutic radiographers undertaking effective remote/telephone review clinics in place of face-to-face radiographer-led review clinics during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract Background and purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the introduction of alternative on-treatment and post-treatment radiographer-led review clinics in an attempt to protect patients, staff and the public. Pre-COVID, patient reviews were routinely undertaken face-to-face, led by therapeutic review radiographers with advanced practice qualifications and skills in radiotherapy symptom management, triage, referral and support services. During the COVID-19 pandemic, an alternative option has been to follow-up in the form of telephone reviews to reduce face-to-face exposure whilst continuing to manage patient radiotherapy treatment-related toxicities. The aim of the narrative review is to explore the subject of telephone reviews and how therapeutic review radiographers might need to adapt communication skills so that they can continue to effectively assess and manage radiotherapy patient treatment reactions remotely. Method and discussion: A narrative review was conducted using the SCOPUS database and 28 publications were included from 2013 to 2021. The review highlights a paucity of literature exploring specific telephone training for radiographers and other allied healthcare professionals. Experiences within medical and nursing programmes demonstrate that development and integration of training in this area is critical in preparing for patient interaction via telephone. Conclusion and implications for practice: Multiple teaching modalities including simulation are ideal for teaching telephone-specific skills and content, demonstrating improvement in student knowledge, competence and confidence. Less is known regarding whether this knowledge translates to an improved patient experience. Enhancements in education and training, guided by the Health and Care Professions Council, may be warranted to ensure that patients continue to receive the optimal quality of care in a world where remote reviews are likely to become commonplace. Patient-reported outcome measures might be utilized for future training evaluations to ensure that effective patient care is being maintained.

Molecular beacon-based DNA tetrahedrons for APE 1 activity detection in living cells

Human apurine/apyrimidine endonuclease (APE) is a multifunctional enzyme that affects the occurrence and development of cancer through DNA repair and redox regulation. It has been identified as a tumor marker for detection and prognosis and drug target due to its overexpression in a variety of cancers. However, the accurate detection of APE 1 activity is still a huge challenge. Traditional approaches exist some disadvantages, including low sensitivity, complex operation and professional equipment requirements. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a fast, sensitive and simple biosensor to detect APE 1 activity in vivo and in vitro. In this report, a new tetrahedral molecular beacon (TMB) probe is designed for the detection of APE 1 activity. This probe not only has the advantage that the tetrahedron can enter the cells without a transfection agent, but also has the advantages of simple operation and low cost. The extracellular detection limit of TMB is as low as 0.0026 U/mL, and this program has successfully achieved APE 1 intracellular imaging to distinguish cancer cells overexpressing APE 1 from normal cells. In addition, the probe which is an effective mean for screening APE 1 inhibitor can also monitor the response of APE 1 to different drugs. All in all, our probe can be successfully applied to detect APE 1 activity in vivo and vitro, and can achieve living cells drug screening. And this probe also provides a general method for the detection of other endogenous biological targets in living cells.

To smile or not to smile: The role of facial expression valence on mundane and luxury products premiumness

A smile is an essential professional requirement for sales assistant and endorser as a means to give a stunning impression and to please customers. However, luxury brands, engrained as consumption symbols to create social distance, tend to act oppositely: they prefer endorsers and sales assistants in a neutral face rather than a smiley face. The purpose of this study is to investigate how and why facial expressions valence impact luxury product price estimation. A pilot study and three studies were conducted to test the hypotheses. We first test whether neutral faces combined with luxury goods can make the customer feel distant. Then we conducted an imagination task to assess whether the interaction between the facial expressions of sales assistants and product type affects product valuations. Further, we adopted an experiment to explore the proposed mechanism, social distance. The results show that commercial models and sales assistants' neutral facial expressions increase perceived social distance, further enhancing the valuations of luxury goods. In contrast, they estimated mundane products higher when they saw a smiley face than a neutral or a negative face. These findings contribute to the literature on the impact of facial expressions in advertising and services for luxury and mundane products. Our findings have potential implications for brands to manage their images and convey their value through employees’ facial expressions according to brand positioning.

Digital Stethoscope to Examine Patients According to Technical Guidelines of Covid-19

Health professionals have to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that could cover the entire body to prevent the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus while examining patients. The current stethoscope is not compatible with the need of health professionals. Therefore, this project aims to create a digital stethoscope that can fulfill the requirement of health professionals to examine patients according to health service guidance in Covid-19 era. Three main objectives in designing the stethoscope are to meet the needs of health professionals, easy and convenient to use. The designed stethoscope has an amplifier circuit with 100 gain and a bandpass filter with 20 Hz and 700 Hz for low and high cut-off frequencies. It is also able to calculate the heart rate and displays it on the stethoscope screen. The stethoscope has a record function that lets the users replay sound as much as they need for the analysis. This digital stethoscope has function tests, performance tests and user satisfaction tests. Seven health professionals who are well-experienced in handling Covid-19 patients auscultate and provide an assessment of the three objectives design. The test results showed that this stethoscope satisfies the health professional’s requirements to examine the patient, grade 4.69 of 5. Health professionals also give a perfect rating for the objective of being easy to use. This stethoscope is the right choice for examining patients according to health service guidance in the Covid-19 era.

Health professionals have to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that could cover the entire body to prevent the transmission of the SARS-CoV-2 virus while examining patients. The current stethoscope is not compatible with the need of health professionals. Therefore, this project aims to create a digital stethoscope that can fulfill the requirement of health professionals to examine patients according to health service guidance in Covid-19 era. Three main objectives in designing the stethoscope are to meet the needs of health professionals, easy and convenient to use. The designed stethoscope has an amplifier circuit with 100 gain and a bandpass filter with 20 Hz and 700 Hz for low and high cut-off frequencies. It is also able to calculate the heart rate and displays it on the stethoscope screen. The stethoscope has a record function that lets the users replay sound as much as they need for the analysis. This digital stethoscope has function tests, performance tests and user satisfaction tests. Seven health professionals who are well-experienced in handling Covid-19 patients auscultate and provide an assessment of the three objectives design. The test results showed that this stethoscope satisfies the health professional’s requirements to examine the patient, grade 4.69 of 5. Health professionals also give a perfect rating for the objective of being easy to use. This stethoscope is the right choice for examining patients according to health service guidance in the Covid-19 era.
