Module Development of Teaching Soft Skills Application in Learning and Facilitating Theory Class for Technical

Nowadays, Malaysia is moving towards being a developed nation in which it has worked hard to develop the country, especially in the field of Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) which is strongly emphasized in producing first-class human capital. The application of seven (7) elements of soft skills (KI) which are communication skills, leadership skills, skills work skills, professional entrepreneurship, morals and ethics, continuous learning and information management, critical thinking and problem solving skills should be emphasized to the students. Mastering soft skills is very important to technical students as it is demanded by the industry. Hence, the purpose of this study is to develop the Soft Skill Implementation Teaching Module in Teaching and Learning Theory Class for Technical Lecturers. The objective of this study is to identify the suitability of the format, content and functionality of the module based on the feedback of the technical lecturers. The development of this module uses the Sidek model while the content of the module is based on UTHM publisher guidelines. The researcher chose the Sidek model as the module development model because it has systematic steps to develop the module. The Sidek model has two phases where the first phase is the draft phase and the second phase is the testing and evaluation phase. Each module built is considered a draft before it is evaluated and tested for its effectiveness. In addition, this study uses the quantitative approach involving ten (10) technical lecturers at FPTV, UTHM. The data were descriptively analyzed and presented in the form of frequency and percentages. The findings have shown that 97.27% of technical lecturers agree with the design format, 98% agree with the suitability of the module content and 100% agree with the functionality of the Soft Skill Implementation Teaching Module in Teaching and Learning Theory Class for Technical Lecturers. In conclusion, this module is suitable to be used by technical lecturers as a guidance and references in applying soft skills systematically.

Building Sports Equipment among Students through Media as a Trend

The purposes of this research are to see how social media influence students and produce promising business. The method of this study used was descriptive method to support buyers who need the detailed about the product obtained in social media. Social media provides several facilitates such as various information to the student and the community. These results will be achieved if the customer certainly looking for a specific sports product namely shoes, clothing, and other equipment with a good quality. The results of this study are to determine current life style influence the students who need an extra money to meet with their standard and needs. In conclusion, students can use social media as a start to be a professional entrepreneur by utilizing media as a marketing trend, however, it does not only apply on the students too, and it can be widely used as a professional entrepreneurial spirit.

Motivations and challenges of women entrepreneurs

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explore the motivations and key challenges women entrepreneurs experience in running small businesses in the Jaipur city of Rajasthan. Design/methodology/approach A purposive sample of 13 women entrepreneurs from a cross-section of enterprises is selected. A qualitative methodology based upon semi-structured, in-depth, exploratory interviews with female entrepreneurs is used which enables the respondents to give voice to their individual experiences. Findings The study reveals that pull factors including the urge for creativity, innovation, self-identity and independence, and to serve the society are the main motivations for female entrepreneurs to start their venture. From the institutional theory perspective, the challenges of female entrepreneurs originate mainly from informal institutions. A significant challenge is that their ability as a professional entrepreneur is not recognized and acknowledged by the society. Furthermore, the cultural norms reflected in the gender-specific role distribution result in the problem of work–life balance. The challenges emerging from the formal institutions do not appear to be pervasive and gender specific. Originality/value The unique contribution of the study is to provide evidences on the motivations and challenges of women entrepreneurs in Rajasthan based on qualitative data derived from in-depth interviews. Furthermore, the study is the first attempt to view the motivations and challenges of female entrepreneurs from an institutional perspective for India in general and Rajasthan in particular.

Competition Studies: Structuring Competencies in University Entrepreneurship Programs

. In this article, we introduce competition as an essential part of professional entrepreneurship activity and competition studies – as a significant direction in entrepreneurship education system. Competition competencies come into play at any stage of the entrepreneurship process. In this case, it is important to place competition competencies on relevant position within mainstream research in entrepreneurship education.The purpose of this article is to take a rational approach to defining, classifying competition competencies in entrepreneurship, and to structuring them as significant learning outcomes in entrepreneurship education in accordance with the types, kinds, methods, character, manners, styles of actor’s competition behavior, directions of competition management. Paper defines and describes categories of competition competencies.

AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES IN BULGARIA: STRUCTURAL FEATURES AND DEVELOPMENT

The aim of the present article is to study and analyze the present state of agricultural farms in Bulgaria, and to provide directions for their development. The following tasks have been set in order to accomplish this goal: to establish the main difficulties in farm functioning; to discover the factors with an impact on their development; to offer adequate measures for sustainable growth. The study encompasses the period from the beginning of the transition to market economy in the 1990s to the end of the first programme period after Bulgaria’s accession to the EU. The sources of information used in the analysis include data from national statistics, agrarian reports from the Ministry of Healthcare and Food, literature by other authors, as well as our own research. Main conclusions: the agricultural reform in Bulgaria in the 1990s led to establishing a production structure of private agriculture farms; the latter is strongly polarized – with a large number of small size and few large size farms. Part of the small farms is maintained by people who have no other employment opportunities. Many of them start working with limited production resources and knowledge, they have an insufficient access to loans and professional training. These and several other factors obstruct successful farm functioning and decrease production results. Bulgaria’s accession to the EU deepened the polarization between small and big agricultural farms. This process was also affected by the EU Common Agriculture Policy, and most of all - the single payment scheme per unit of used land area. To stimulate the growth and development of family agriculture business in Bulgaria, the state needs to provide special conditions: young people will require professional entrepreneurship culture, they must acquire experience in developing successful agricultural farms at home and abroad; cooperation with research institutions is needed, as well as preferential crediting, introduction of “green” production technologies, etc.

Title: It is More Blessed to Invest than to Give. Entrepreneurship in the Swedish Television Christmas CalendarCultural representations of entrepreneurship frequently overshadow positive traits in favor of greed as a central motif, particularly in children’s culture. The Swedish Christmas calendar, broadcasted on national television, has been criticized for conveying a negative view of capitalism including a portrayal of entrepreneurs as villains. However, emphasis on profession fails to acknowledge its engagement with entrepreneurship in relation to the neoliberal version of homo economicus (the economic subject). Drawing on the writings of Michel Foucault and Gary S. Becker, the aim is to show that portrayals of entrepreneurship in the Christmas calendar evoke both positive and negative connotations. In the Dickens-inspired calendar Tjuvarnas jul (The thieves’ Christmas, 2011), the two main antagonists are the head of a department store and the captain of the thieves. Both are portrayed as void of moral judgment, aiming to accumulate capital, but unlike the captain of the thieves, the head of the department store reinvests hers. Re-investment emerges as the main dividing line between good and bad capitalist behavior. When the head of the department store stops re-investing, leaving a monetary deficit behind, the accumulated funds of the captain of the thieves secure market balance and a flourishing of professional entrepreneurship. In the calendar Kaspar i Nudådalen (Kaspar in Nudå valley, 2001), the protagonist aims to receive a maximum amount of Christmas gifts. To ensure this, he creates a measuring tool whereby he can evaluate his actions and its outcome: good actions allow him to advance a step and bad actions force him to retreat. His everyday accounting emphasizes the construction of subjectivity as a distinct homo economicus as the measuring tool begins to shape his being, disciplining his thoughts and actions. Together, the two Christmas calendars emphasize entrepreneurship as an ambivalent discourse beyond a biased negative view of capitalism in children’s culture.

Study on Effect of Dual Networks Embeddedness on College Students’ Entrepreneurial Growth Based on Professions

College students’ entrepreneurship should be combined with majors, based on professional knowledge as the core competitiveness, which is the basis of successful entrepreneurship. Dual embeddedness of social networks and industry networks is an inherent requirement to promote the growth of all entrepreneurial businesses. Features of embedded networks are different during different stages of college students’ entrepreneurship based on their professions. This determines college students’ entrepreneurial enterprises evolve from self-employed professional enterprises to professional enterprises and finally develop to product-innovative enterprises. This paper analyzes the effect of dual networks embeddedness on the growth of College Students' professional entrepreneurship from the perspective of embedded networks, making a few comments and suggestions in order to help students do professional entrepreneurship better and promote the growth of professional entrepreneurship.

Study Framework on Integration Method of Entrepreneurship Education and Mechanical Specialty Education for College Student

The integration of College Students' entrepreneurship education and professional education is the inevitable requirement of the progress and development of Higher Education, which is of great significance to improve and promote the cultivation of creative talents in institutions of higher learning. Through the analysis of the integration between entrepreneurship education and professional education, combined with the characteristics of mechanical specialty education, the technical route and detailed strategy for the integration of entrepreneurship education and mechanical specialty education are worked out, including the construction of entrepreneurship education and the teaching of mechanical specialty integration mechanism, and to strengthen mechanical specialty entrepreneurship education teachers team construction, multi-channel professional entrepreneurship education mechanism. The research of this paper provides new methods and ideas for the integration of College Students' entrepreneurship education and professional education.

The Importance of Patronage during the Institutionalization of the Companies and the Professional Manager and Entrepreneur Coherence Problem

When companies start institutionalization, it is inevitable that some difficulties will be faced while advancing with the guidance of the experienced and professional managers under the employer’s control. In the operation of this process, as much as the importance of the patronage (the entrepreneur’s embracing the control and style of managing), the mangers’ (that give account to the entrepreneur) being able to embrace the institution and to have an accord with the boss are also important. It is normal to face some coherence problems and opinion differences between the entrepreneur and the senior manager in the institutionalizing companies. The level and the depth of these are important; moreover, there are things to do to make them understandable. During the institutionalization process, the coherence problems between the professional manager and the entrepreneur can be resolved through mutual effort. This article approaches the campaign as a structured negotiation of writers’ industrial authorship, which exploited institutional contradictions across the field while also betraying instabilities in the concept of independence itself.

Development of the Practice Teaching Project in Machine Design Based on CDIO Engineering Education Model

This paper describes the basic concepts of engineering education model-CDIO. Then referring to the CDIO teaching philosophy, take the practice teaching reform about machine design as an example, coordinated development of student-centered knowledge, capability and diathesis serves as the guiding ideology. This combines knowledge impartment and capability cultivation together. Development of the machine design practice teaching project based on CDIO engineering education model are put forward, while requirements involved in the practice project are expounded as well as works in each stage. Additionally, the practice project broke the traditional instruction model with roles of students and teachers changed significantly. Precisely, students are demanded to design and accomplish tasks in the project independently to turn the traditional passive education mode to a self-innovation, excogitation and implementation mode. Thus, engineering and technical personnel, who are needed by modern corporations and possess professional skills, social awareness, and entrepreneur sensitivity, are cultivated for Chinese future development.

John Freeman: entrepreneurship and innovation defined--a personal remembrance

This article is a personal remembrance by the authors, of John Freeman's transition from being a scholar on organization theory to an active contributor to entrepreneurship research, teaching and mentoring. The article reflects on Freeman's work on organizational ecology and entrepreneurship, as faculty director of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of California, Berkeley, as he turned the focus of the Center to new venture formation. The article narrates how Freeman came to regard new venture creation as a defined management process for the new class of business manager, the professional entrepreneur, and points out his extension of the entrepreneurial process beyond the individual to the team and even to the ecosystem. The impact of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) program on radiation and tissue banking in Brazil

Until 2000, efforts into organising tissue banks in Brazil had not progressed far beyond small "in house" tissue storage repositories, usually annexed to Orthopaedic Surgery Services. Despite the professional entrepreneurship of those working as part time tissue bankers in such operations, best practices in tissue banking were not always followed due to the lack of regulatory standards, specialised training, adequate facilities and dedicated personnel. The Skin Bank of the Plastic Surgery Department of the Hospital das Clinicas of Sao Paulo, the single skin bank in Brazil, was not an exception. Since 1956, restricted and unpredictable amounts of skin allografts were stored under refrigeration for short periods under very limited quality controls. As in most "tissue banks" at that time in Brazil, medical and nursing staff worked on a volunteer and informal basis undergoing no specific training. IAEA supported the implementation of the tissue banking program in Brazil through the regional project RLA/7/009 "Quality system for the production of irradiated sterilised grafts" (1998-2000) and through two interregional projects INT/6/049 "Interregional Centre of Excellence in Tissue Banking", during the period 2002-2004 and INT/6/052 "Improving the Quality of Production and Uses of Radiation Sterilised Tissue Grafts", during the period 2002-2004. In 2001-2002, the first two years of operation of the HC-Tissue Bank, 53 skin transplants were carried out instead of the previous 4-5 a year. During this period, 75 individuals donated skin tissue, generating approximately 90,000 cm(2) of skin graft. The IAEA program were of great benefit to Brazilian tissue banking which has evolved from scattered make shift small operations to a well-established, high quality tissue banking scenario.

What drives British drug policies?

This paper identifies four broad types of influence which have contributed to the dynamics of British drug policy development over many decades: international influences, varieties of fear, professional entrepreneurship, and the perceived tension between treatment and control. A follow-through of these same themes to current policy concerns is traced. The need to develop a comparative and international framework for policy analysis is stressed. Policy research, it is argued, deserves to be given greater attention as the necessary means toward a more informed sense of feasibilities and policy options.
