The study on organizational performance in companies in the commercial sector in El Salvador provides valuable information for decision makers. It is essential to know how the actions, attitudes and behaviors of workers influence this performance. The research was carried out using a quantitative descriptive approach through primary and secondary sources. The data were analyzed in graphs covering the competencies of personal awareness, social awareness, and personal and social behaviors. The results indicate that both personal and social awareness are fundamental in shaping the organizational culture of business enterprises. These competencies influence job performance and contribute to organizational development. Regarding social and personal behavioral competencies, it was observed that, in some cases, men demonstrate better performance within organizations. In conclusion, organizational performance in companies in the commercial sector in El Salvador is strongly influenced by the awareness and behavioral competencies of their workers. This affects both the productivity and competitiveness of companies, making these competencies key areas for development and continuous improvement within organizations.
