An Initial Exploration of the Multidimensional Creative Presentation of Qiang Patterns Integrated with AIGC

As one of the main settlements of the Qiang ethnic group, Mianyang City contains a wealth of Qiang culture. Qiang patterns carry the historical memories and cultural heritage of the Qiang people and are an important part of Sichuan's intangible cultural heritage. The unique national culture and tattoo art of the Qiang people is a treasure in the cultural treasury of the Chinese nation. With the acceleration of the modernization process, Qiang patterns are facing the risk of inheritance breaks and loss of skills. Therefore, in the context of today's era, it is of great practical significance and theoretical value to explore how to utilize digital technology for the protection and inheritance of Qiang patterns from the perspective of intangible cultural heritage.This paper explores strategies for the protection and inheritance of Qiang patterns in Mianyang City under the support of AIGC technology, with the aim of providing creativity and direction for the inheritance and development of Qiang patterns.

Effect of pressure and moisture content on physicochemical properties of popped finger millet (<i>Eleusine coracana</i>)

Finger millet (Eleusine coracana) is a nutritious grain whose traditional processing methods have received inadequate application in modern processing to enhance its commercialization. This study investigated how pressure and moisture content affected the puffing yield, density, expansion ratio, colour, proximate composition, selected minerals and antinutritive factors of popped finger millet grain. Grains were equilibrated at 15,18, or 21% moisture content and popped at 120, 140, or 160 psi. The results show that progressively raising the moisture content and pressure significantly (p≤0.05) increased the popping yield and expansion ratio while reducing density. Pressure and moisture content interactions significantly (p≤0.05) influenced the popping yield, expansion ratio and density. Popped grain lightness and total colour difference significantly (p≤0.05) increased when the moisture content was increased from 15% to 21 %. The redness and browning index were significantly (p≤0.05) reduced when the moisture content and pressure were progressively raised from 15% to 21% and 120 psi to 160 psi respectively. Progressive increase of pressure and moisture content, and their synergistic interactions significantly (p≤0.05) reduced the crude fat and moisture contents of popped grain. Moreover, crude protein significantly (p≤0.05) improved when pressure was increased. Zinc and iron and total phenol contents significantly (p≤0.05) increased when the popping pressures and moisture content were progressively raised from 120 psi to 160 psi, and 15% to 21% respectively. Phytates content declined significantly (p≤0.05) when pressure was increased from 120psi to 140 psi or 160psi.Tannins significantly reduced (p≤0.05) when the moisture content was raised from 15% to 21 %. These findings demonstrate that popping finger millet can improve its nutritional value making it a viable avenue for value addition.

Analysis of the Influence of Deng Xiaoping’s Reform and Opening up Thought on China’s Modernization Process

Since Deng Xiaoping’s reform and opening up thought was proposed, it has had a profound impact on China’s modernization process. This paper first outlines the core content and characteristics of Deng Xiaoping’s reform and opening up thought, including focusing on economic construction and adhering to the four basic principles, and analyzes the practical application of this thought in various fields such as China’s economy, social politics, and cultural concepts. Subsequently, the paper systematically reviews the evolution of China’s modernization process before and after the reform and opening up, especially the significant achievements made by China in economic development, social and political progress, and cultural concept transformation after the reform and opening up. Specifically, Deng Xiaoping’s reform and opening up thought promoted the transformation of China’s economic system from a planned economy to a market economy, stimulated market vitality and creativity, and promoted the sustained and rapid development of Chinese economy. At the same time, this thought has also promoted social and political progress, strengthened the construction of democracy and the rule of law, and guaranteed the democratic rights and freedoms of the people. Principles of integrating modern waste processing facilities into the structure of large cities

The necessity for effective and coherent integration of utilitarian industrial enterprises into the urban environment is driven by the increasing ecological and urban planning requirements of large cities regarding the development of waste disposal technologies. To develop new methods and approaches to integrating solid waste processing facilities into the structure of Tyumen, Russia. An assessment of design practices in both international and Russian contexts highlights the following contemporary methods of integration into the urban environment: functional, communicational, and aesthetic. The study demonstrates the urban planning scales of integration within a large city, spanning the urban framework, the structure of urban districts, and the architectural context of development. An experimental model was developed in the study for the integration of a waste processing facility into the historical city center, taking into account the high demands for ecological sustainability of modern technologies. This model can serve as a prototype for creating a network of industrial enterprises that also incorporate social functions. The design concept of the new facility is complemented by requirements for its integration into the surrounding landscape, utilizing terracing techniques in the configuration of primary functional volumes. As a result, the stages of development and integration of modern waste processing facilities for municipal solid waste have been identified and characterized. The paper introduces principles for their integration into the urban environment, which serve as the foundation for future changes in the architectural appearance of such enterprises within the context of large cities.

Research on the Sustainable Development of Ancient Villages

In the wake of rural urbanization and the advancement of new rural construction, numerous ancient villages are confronted with issues, such as the loss of cultural characteristics, ecological environment deterioration, and lagging economic development. The sustainable development of ancient villages has thus emerged as a subject of considerable research value in the face of the challenges and opportunities presented by the modernization process. This paper initially analyzes the significance of the sustainable development of ancient villages, with the aim of exploring the paths and strategies for their sustainable development, in order to address the challenges and opportunities that traditional villages encounter during modernization. Subsequently, through a literature review and case analysis, this paper summarizes the main approaches to the sustainable development of ancient villages, and contends that it is not only necessary for protecting historical and cultural heritage and inheriting national culture but also constitutes an important means to facilitate the transformation and upgrading of the rural economy and achieve rural revitalization. Additionally, this paper presents the difficulties that ancient villages need to overcome in their pursuit of sustainable development. Firstly, the majority of research has a relatively short time scale and is unable to accurately predict the development trends of ancient villages. Secondly, the research directions are vague and simplistic, and the research content requires further refinement. Finally, attention must be paid to balancing cultural protection and modernization.

The Impact of Farmland Transfer on Urban–Rural Integration: Causal Inference Based on Double Machine Learning

Urban–rural fragmentation represents a significant challenge encountered by nations globally, particularly in both developing and developed contexts, during the modernisation process. This study examines the effects of rural land system reform on facilitating integrated development between urban and rural areas. The analysis of the impact of the 2010 liberalisation of the land transfer policy employs a dual machine learning model, utilising provincial-level data from China spanning 2005 to 2022, to address the limitations of traditional causal inference models while ensuring estimation accuracy. The findings indicate that the reform of the rural land system significantly enhances integrated urban–rural development, particularly in demographic, economic, and ecological dimensions. The mechanisms encompass the facilitation of extensive land and agricultural service operations, the development of new business entities, the migration of rural labour, and the enhancement of agricultural capital. Furthermore, notable disparities exist in the effects of reforms across various regions, particularly concerning urban–rural integration development and land transfer levels. The policy effects of land transfer exhibit a marginally diminishing trend. The influence of land transfer on urban–rural integration varies with economic development levels, demonstrating a nonlinear relationship, with the most pronounced effects observed in regions with moderate economic development. Additionally, the policy effects of land transfer differ based on geographic location. The impact of land transfer policies varies across geographic regions, with the central region exhibiting the most significant effect, followed by the north-eastern region, the western region, and the eastern region, which shows the least effect. This study provides a reference for advancing the reform of the marketisation of land factors, improving the efficiency of land resource allocation, and regionally and in multiple layers advancing the reform of the rural land system.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the ideas about the monastery prison in Russian society of the 19th century, when deep modernization processes were taking place and the question of its liquidation arose. The paper analyzes the attitude towards the monastery prison in several social contexts that formed the basis of the social structure of the Russian Empire in the context of the development of state-church relations. The novelty of the work lies in an attempt to identify the causes and features of ideas about the monastery prison in certain social groups: the peasantry, clergy, intelligentsia, and also to link these ideas with the evolution of the relationship between church and state. The work is based on a wide range of sources: official documents, memoirs, archival materials, official reports of surveys of peasants in the central part of Russia, legislative acts. As a result of the conducted research, it is concluded that the public's perception of the monastery prison is ambiguous and contradictory: from the pronounced denial inherent in the liberal environment to the more restrained, characteristic of peasants and clergy. The reasons for the contradictory attitude towards the monastery prison stemmed from the peculiarities of the worldview, attitudes and preferences of social groups. At the same time, by the end of the 19th century, a negative narrative began to prevail in public opinion regarding the use of monasteries for punitive purposes, which was explained by the social crisis and changing views on the place and role of the church in society and the state.

(De)Globalization, the Global Imaginary, and Religious Narratives: A Theoretical Framework and the East Asia Litmus Test

Faced with the twin challenges of globalization and de-globalization, do religions exercise agency in these trends? In other words, do they give shape to them, or are they rather shaped by them? If the influence is reciprocal, how should the process behind this be described? This article sets itself two tasks. Firstly, it endeavors to develop a theoretical framework by which to conceptualize the question just posed. Secondly, it applies this framework to the case of China and, more cursorily, to the East Asian context in general. I start my analysis by approaching “globalization” as a shared vision of the world, referred to, in this article, as the “global imaginary”. The recent erosion of the latter has led to “deglobalization”, a set of narratives that remain correlated to the globalist storyline they confront. Central to the topic is that fact that the crisis experienced by the global imaginary affects the interplay between its secular and religious dimensions. The secular imaginary had fostered a homogenous narrative that has caused both ontological and epistemological crises. The resurgence of religious discourse within the narratives of deglobalization is to be understood as part and parcel of competing interpretations of the global modernization process, since the latter obeys both secular and religious forces. Focusing in the second part of this article on trends and representations proper to China in its regional context enables us to better assess how the globalization and deglobalization narratives intermingle in religious and secular dimensions in a way that reshapes each of them.

Development of a Novel Retrofit Framework Considering Industry 4.0 Concepts: A Case Study of a Modular Production System

Retrofitting legacy systems provides significant advantages by addressing compatibility issues with new devices and technologies, meeting current process requirements, and increasing security and regulatory compliance. The process starts by collecting requirements and evaluating the legacy system’s attributes and limitations, followed by integrating modern technologies to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhancing performance and interoperability while leveraging existing facilities to reduce costs. A systematic approach ensures that updates align with modern technological standards, with performance evaluations conducted via qualitative and quantitative methods and system maturity assessed according to the Reference Architecture Model for Industries 4.0 (RAMI 4.0 model’s) criteria for intelligent factories. By incorporating digital twin (DT) capabilities, which replicate the physical state of systems and provide real-time data updates, the retrofit strategy aligns the physical system with Industry 4.0 contexts, facilitating continuous improvement and seamless integration with modern processes. The goal is to advance the legacy system technologically to ensure seamless integration with contemporary processes, validated through RAMI criteria analysis for smart factories. As part of this process, digital twin architecture was built. This architecture was the basis for building and operating digital twins in the process. The methodology was used to enhance and transform legacy systems, creating the foundation for creating a fully digital twin. Using this method, these systems can be updated to meet the requirements of Industry 4.0. This ensures that they can work with new systems and share data in real time, which improves general operations.

Application of Artificial Intelligence in the Digital Protection and Inheritance of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Intangible cultural heritage (ICH), which is regarded as a treasure of human civilization, is loaded with abundant historical, cultural and ethnic memories. Since globalization is accelerating and the modernization process is moving forward, a great number of ICH are in danger of vanishing. For the purpose of effectively protecting and inheriting these invaluable resources, artificial intelligence (AI) technology has been gradually introduced into the digital protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. This article first presents the current situation regarding the protection and inheritance of ICH, and then expounds in detail on the specific application methods of AI in the digital protection and inheritance of ICH, such as data collection and processing, intelligent classification and identification, virtual restoration and reproduction, etc. Subsequently, through experimental investigations, this article analyzes the actual effects and potential values of AI technology in the protection and inheritance of ICH. The experimental results indicate that artificial intelligence technology can remarkably enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage, with the accuracy rate varying from 85% to 92%, which offers new motivation for the sustainable development of ICH.

Transforming Quantum Programmes in KDM to Quantum Design Models in UML

Quantum computing has come to stay in our lives. Companies are investing billions of dollars in it because of the potential benefits that it can achieve, providing promising applications in almost every business sector. Although quantum computing is evolving at an exponential rate, the development of tools, techniques, or frameworks for the evolution of current information systems towards quantum software systems is still proving to be a challenge. This research contributes to the evolution of current information systems towards hybrid information systems (combining the classical and quantum computing paradigm). We propose a software modernization process, by following model-driven engineering principles, adapted to the quantum paradigm, based on modified versions of standards for reverse engineering of classical, quantum software assets, and for the design of the target system. In particular, this paper focuses on the restructuring transformation from KDM to UML models, where KDM models have been generated from Q# code. This proposal has been validated through a case study involving 17 programmes. The results obtained show optimistic values regarding the complexity of the UML models generated, their expressiveness and scalability. The main implication of this research is that UML models can indeed help the software evolution of/toward hybrid information systems.

Pendekatan SWOT dalam Strategi Pengembangan Usaha Keripik Kentang Bakti Rizky di Kota Padang (Meningkatkan Daya Saing Wilayah melalui Teknologi Pemasaran)

This research aims to analyze internal and external factors that affect the development of the potato chip business and formulate a strategy that can improve its performance. This research was conducted on February 16, 2024-March 16, 2024. This qualitative research uses case study observation and interview methods. Qualitative analysis will be done by describing the conditions and explaining the facts in the Bakti Rizky potato chip business in Padang City and the right strategy for the Bakti Rizky potato chip business. Quantitative analysis in this study is the calculation of IFE, EFE, and QSPM. The results showed that the strategic internal environment of Bakti Rizky's potato chip business in Padang City had strengths and weaknesses. In the external environment, namely opportunities and threats. The results of strategy formulation with SWOT analysis are as follows: (1) Maintaining affordable selling prices for all groups and increasing business scale through increasing production volumes accompanied by expanding product marketing by utilizing more modern technology (2) Increasing marketing efforts by utilizing information technology and cooperating with related agencies for training, promotion, packaging design, exhibitions and improving product quality through modern processing (3) Cooperate with raw material suppliers and increase consumer confidence by maintaining quality raw materials, despite the increase in raw material prices (4) Make product innovations in the form of attractive packaging and flavor variations such as spicy and cheese flavors to increase public buying interest and differentiate from competitors. The results of the QSPM analysis, which is a priority strategy, are increasing marketing efforts by utilizing information technology and collaborating with related agencies for training, promotion, packaging design, exhibitions, and improving product quality through modern processing.

Mediatising the Lives of Internally Displaced People: Documentary and Cinematic Aspect

The purpose of the research is to prove the importance of publishing successful stories of IDP integration on the screen and in the modern information space, to outline their impact on the life of the host communities, with emphasis on the historical component, to analyse the problems of social and psychological adaptation and integration of IDPs. To establish the relationship between the portrayal of modern migration processes in literary and audiovisual works. The research methodology. The following methods were used: theoretical (analysis of films, information sources, generalisation of information material, determination of the interdependence of the components that form attitudes towards IDPs in general); comparative and analytical (study of the impact of IDPs on the life of host communities); empirical (observation of life and display of various aspects on the screen that can be used for further research). The scientific novelty. For the first time, the problems of socio-psychological adaptation and integration of IDPs are analysed in contemporary screen discourse. A literature review is carried out, and a detailed analysis is made of the interdependence of factors that shape attitudes towards IDPs as active participants in the functioning of host communities. Through the theoretical analysis of audiovisual works, the author establishes the relationship between the representation of modern migration processes in literary and audiovisual works. Conclusions. The article analyses the problems of socio-psychological adaptation and integration of IDPs in contemporary screen discourse. A literature review is carried out, and a detailed analysis is made of the interdependence of factors that shape attitudes towards IDPs as active participants in the functioning of host communities. The author summarises the factors that prove that contemporary cinema presents the issues in sufficient detail, conveying dry facts to the audience and allowing them to understand the psychological aspects of forced displacement.

Абазины в XXI веке: этнографические аспекты религиозных практик

The article describes modern religious processes and related cultural and everyday practices of the Abazin people, who in their spiritual development went through three stages - pagan, Christian and Muslim. Each period brought its own cultural code to the spiritual culture of the Abazin, which remains in society throughout the period, and even the monotheistic religions that replaced it were not completely able to oust it from the life of the people. A reference to the history of traditional beliefs and statements of world religions among the Abazins preceded the presentation of the material characterizing modern religious and everyday practices Such information allows us to assess the dynamics of the relevant transformations and better understand the modern processes taking place in Abazin society, where ancient beliefs and Mus-lim norms coexist in a syncretic form. All this, taken together, causes tension in society, since the older generation, accustomed to living in this paradigm, is not ready to agree with the new, ortho-dox Islamic movements that have arisen in recent decades in Abazin society. This confrontation gradually leads to disunity in society and slowly but steadily continues the destruction process of national traditions that do not correspond to the norms of orthodox Islam. These are the disap-pointing predictions that the author comes to as a result of the study.

Authorial Narratives in the Work of Middle Eastern Directors

The purpose of the research is to identify relevant narratives in the work of directors-authors of Middle Eastern cinema and its functioning in the space of international film festivals. Research methodology. The analytical method was used to develop the topic, which is necessary for studying the art history and cultural aspects of the problem. The researcher used the techniques of systematisation and generalisation, which came in handy for arguing the originality of the phenomenon of film directing in Middle Eastern countries, its place in modern culture-creating processes, as well as the determination of objective regularities that characterise directing practices in the contemporary intercultural space. A cross-cultural method was also applied, which contributed to identifying the peculiarities of the presentation of films by Middle Eastern directors at international film festivals. The cultural approach determined the generalised socio-cultural orientation of the research on the cinematography of Middle Eastern countries. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the problem of intercultural cooperation in the production and distribution of films in Middle Eastern countries in the context of the functioning of international support programs became the subject of a particular study for the first time; the work of filmmakers whose films were created as international projects and presented at international film festivals is singled out and characterised; the practicality of using the systematic method in the study of new narratives of films of the Middle Eastern region is proven. Conclusions. Familiarisation with the materials presented in the article expands the arsenal of knowledge about the specifics of the content and distribution of films by Middle Eastern directors within the framework of intercultural projects. It enables their use in educational courses on the theory and history of culture, cinema and directing.

Listening to the Wind of Change: Social Forecasting through the Lens of a Transdisciplinary Approach

Purpose. This paper aims to explore social forecasting through the lens of a transdisciplinary approach with respect to holistic human nature. Theoretical basis. The complexity of social forecasting is that it deals with the multifaceted phenomenon of a human being, a human who is both the creator and the creation of the social spaces, for whom all economic, social, political, scientific, cultural achievements, problems and prospects acquire meaning only in the context of him/herself, his/her life, his/her destiny. Thus, the phenomenon of a human being is the key to understanding the dynamics of modern transformational processes and to creating promising models of the future development of the human society. Since in forecasting we try to anticipate the future that is not yet defined and may have different development trajectories, a transdisciplinary approach to forecasting that embraces what is within disciplines, at the intersection of disciplines, and beyond all disciplines can become the most fruitful approach. Originality. A human being brings a high degree of unpredictability and uncertainty into all social forecasts. Nowadays, the complex multifaceted nature of an individual as a biological, psychological, and social being needs a deeper understanding that requires joint efforts of representatives of various scientific fields. Through mutually enriching work within a transdisciplinary paradigm, representatives of different scientific fields and directions may create a kind of guidebook designed to form and explain a new reality, a new future. Within such an approach, not a competition between theories, methodologies, and protocol decisions, but a common goal, common dreams and aspirations for a better future of humanity should come to the fore. Conclusions. A transdisciplinary approach to social forecasting has a potential to consider all sciences in a humanitarian context, taking into account complex multifaceted human nature. It goes beyond traditional boundaries providing opportunities not only to synthesize and integrate solutions to a problem, but also to rise above it. Transdisciplinarity, recognizing the existence of different realities, provides a broader view of the world, a deeper understanding of phenomena and processes that contribute to the development of new projects for a better future of a human and humanity.

Semi-supervised Learning of a Vision Transformer for the Task of Road Traffic Segmentation in an Unstructured Environment

In the last few years, traditionally used for natural language processing tasks, recurrent neural networks have been replaced mainly by transformers. Thanks to the novel attention mechanism, they also sequentially receive text input but provide much better results than LSTM, GRU-based, or similar networks. Self-attention negates the problem of fading memory by allowing efficient evaluation of dependencies between distant tokens and provides a better means for parallelization for modern processing units like GPU. Until recently, the use of transformers for computer vision (CV) tasks was minimal. The biggest obstacles that hindered the progress in this field were immense computational complexity, the fact that the image is a grid, not a sequence-like text, and the lack of strong inductive bias, in other words, the ability to have a good grasp of local correlations, unlike their CNN counterparts. The latest slowed down the vision transformer (ViT) usage rate in semantic segmentation (SS) even more. However, it was recently shown that with sufficient data, Transformers could outperform CNN-based networks in image classification and, with the proper ViT structure, even in SS. A promising direction for providing a ViT with required training data is using semi-supervised learning (SSL), which allows for extracting helpful information from unlabeled data using only a small amount of labeled data. This approach is beneficial when solving the problem of SS since manually creating masks for images is very time-consuming. This paper proposes the robust semi-supervised ViT learning method using minimal labeled data. The combination of a strong augmentation pipeline and a dual teacher paradigm allows good performance for SS of road traffic in the unstructured environment without the need for extensive hyperparameter search

The physical culture of the Kazakh people should find wide application in modern physical education. He fulfills the basic requirements of the modern process of physical education and sports, and also carries out education, training and rehabilitation of society.

The modernization process and transformation of the space of old town of Xi’an: a historical research on the Xijing construction (1932–1945)

ABSTRACT In 1932, Xi’an was designated as the auxiliary capital and renamed “Xijing” 1 1 Xijing（西京）means “Western Capital”, When a dynasty implements the system of two capitals or multiple capitals, the naming of the capital and the secondary capital is based on the relative direction of the capital city. In China, “Xijing” usually refers to the ancient capital of Chang’an during the 13 dynasties (now Xi’an). Xi’an is also the city that has used the term “Xijing” for the longest time. initiated a period of swift urban development, now recognized as the “Xijing Construction Period” 2 2 The decision was made during the Second Plenary Session of the Fourth National Congress of the Kuomintang in 1932, stating: “Chang’an shall be the provisional capital, renamed Xijing,” and appointing Zhang Ji and others to form the “Xijing Preparatory Committee” responsible for urban construction in Xi’an. On March 19, 1945, the National Government issued Order No. 188, “dissolving the Xijing Preparatory Committee and transferring its original work to the Shaanxi Provincial Government,” marking the end of the construction of Xijing as the provisional capital. in academia. During this era, authorities, along with relevant planners and engineers executed a series of construction activities in Xi’an, including road construction, new urban area development, zoning planning, and the preservation of urban heritage, thereby adding a modern touch into the city’s ancient and traditional Chinese fabric. “Xijing Construction” is an important part for understanding the modernization process of Xi’an’s urban space. By reviewing of local history books and newspapers, this paper delineates the specific timeline, process, and content of the construction period. It further interprets the changes of Xi’an’s old town space through the redrawing of historical maps, illustrating how traditional urban space transitioned from being confined to expanding and connecting beyond the city walls. Finally, the paper concludes with a discussion on the evolution of the old city area’s urban function distribution and its ongoing influence on Xi’an’s current urban form.

Understanding the association between urban noise and nighttime light in China

Nighttime light data partially reflects the process of urban modernization and its reaction to urban scale, but its correlation with noise remains unclear, especially over a long-term time series, remains unclear. To address this gap, we examine 31 provincial capital cities and municipalities in China as the study area, utilizing noise monitoring data and nighttime light data to explore their relationship in urban areas from 2012 to 2021. The results show that: (1) During the study period, the regional environmental noise and night light index of 31 major cities exhibited a consistent upward trend, with the average equivalent sound level of environmental noise in most urban areas fluctuating between 50.1 dB (A) and 60.0 dB (A). The overall quality evaluation was average, indicating that the effectiveness of noise pollution prevention and control was difficult to sustain in the long term. (2) The driving factor affecting the change in environmental noise quality in urban areas is population density. (3) There is a significant correlation between different types of noise proportion and urban construction and development, with the closest correlation observed with the urban economy, urban built-up area, and urban construction land area. Cities with high levels of urbanization tend to have more vulnerable acoustic environments. (4) Industrial noise percentage of urban environmental noise has a significant positive impact on nighttime light data. This study provides valuable insights for promoting the coordinated development between urbanization and acoustic environment optimization, as well as fostering a healthy and sustainable living environment.
