Education Problems, Quality of I Evaluating and Enhancing the Quality of Education in Indonesia

Education is an important effort in improving the quality of human resources. The purpose of this study is toevaluate the weaknesses in Indonesia's current education system. Education is recognized as a top priority in every country, and the quality of education is an important indicator of a nation's progress. This research adopts adescriptive qualitative approach and uses literature research as its method. The author collected information fromsources considered valid and relevant. The results of this study show that the quality of education in Indonesia is still low. This is due to a number of educational problems that Indonesia faces, including macro issues such as a complex curriculum, educational inequality, costs, teacher placement and low teacher quality. Key issues also involve monotonous teachingmethods, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, and unsatisfactory student learning outcomes. In the discussion, some solutions are suggested that are expected to overcome the problems of education in Indonesia and improve the quality of education, so that Indonesia can compete with or even surpass other countries.This paper aims to increase individual awareness in building a better and more advanced Indonesia, as well aspreparing quality human resources.

Analysis of How Zoning Policies with A Focus on Achieving Equitable Access to Quality Education through New Student Enrollment Strategies

The issue of education equity has always been a problem of education in Indonesia. The government policy on the zoning system for new student admissions is one of the solutions offered to support the education equity program. The implementation of the zoning system policy has an impact on improving the quality of schools and students because the registration path for students by the provisions of the domicile zoning area determined by the local government. This study analysis raises the topic of improving the quality of schools and learners to encourage education equity through the implementation of the zoning system for new student admissions. The purpose of this analysis is to examine the implementation of school and learner quality management as a form of support for equal access to education, which is one of the objectives of the government's policy on the zoning system for new learners. A descriptive qualitative approach through a literature study traced in official documents, reference books, websites, government policies, and journals related to the research topic is used in this study. The results of the study on the above topic can be concluded that the new learner admission zoning system policy encourages the improvement of the quality of schools and learners through the quality of services, teacher competence, availability of facilities and infrastructure, and participation of education stakeholders including the government by adhering to the principles of quality assurance for equitable, objective, transparent, and fair education.

PERAN KEPALA SEKOLAH DALAM PEMENUHAN STANDAR PROSES PEMBELAJARAN DI SMK PGRI 3 KOTA SERANG

ABSTRACT
 In general, the problem of education in Indonesia lies in the low quality of basic education at every level, both at the elementary secondary level and at the higher education level. The efforts of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia through the Ministry of Education and Culture in improving the quality and relevance of education are manifested in the form of establishing policies on National Education Standards in accordance with the mandate of the Law on the National Education System. National Education Standards are the minimum criteria regarding the education system in Indonesia and the issuance of Government Regulation Number 13 of 2015 concerning National Education Standards, aims to improve the quality of education in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the role of the headmasterl in monitoring the evaluation of the teaching and learning process for meeting the standards of the learning process at SMK PGRI 3 Serang City. Implementation of the standard learning process at SMK 3 PGRI Serang City, the Headmaster has supervised, monitored and evaluated teachers and education staff at least once every 1 semester or 6 months, even every week to be precise on Monday morning before the start of learning a meeting is held with all teachers first or morning briefing to provide direction, coaching and motivation, this is also done as an evaluation in the future so that it becomes even better. And when the headmaster has carried out supervision, monitoring and evaluation, don't forget to also follow up for the next 3 months to see if there are still things that haven't been improved when the teacher supervision has not met the standards of the learning process. The level of compliance with the learning process standards at SMK 3 PGRI Serang City, what researchers can conclude is that the level of compliance with learning process standards at the school is only around 70%. This is due to several factors which, according to researchers, educators have not fully met the learning standards that should be met. To meet process standards, teachers need to carry out a more interactive, structured and scheduled learning process, by taking advantage of very rapid technological developments so that learning is not always focused on textbooks and also to make the learning process more creative, innovative and attractive.

IMPELEMENTASI PENJAMINAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN ISLAM MELALUI MADRASAH DI INDONESIA

The beginning of March 2020 was marked by the entry of Covid-19 into Indonesia which later became a Covid-19 pandemic marking various astonishing changes. Changes in various aspects of life such as social, religious, political, defense, and security science and technology are increasingly felt. This fact confronts a dilemmatic educational problem, where the quality of education which is the standard of national education quality is faced with an atmosphere of modernization and globalization, which is required to be able to play an active and dynamic role and be able to bring and contribute to the improvement of human morals, both at the theoretical and practical intellectual level. The problem of education in Indonesia tends to be oriented to the fulfillment of physical development needs through the preparation of human resources who have professional competence or are able to work professionally, it is time for Islamic education to reformulate holistic and integrative Islamic education with the vision of advancing Islamic civilization to be very important.

Analisis Model Pembelajaran Sesuai dengan Gaya Belajar Anak Sekolah Dasar yang Beragam

One of the problems of education in Indonesia is the phenomenon of low learning outcomes of elementary school (SD) age children. The low learning outcomes occur because educators often cannot understand how the right aspects of learning to be applied to elementary school-age children, so understanding is needed for educators to formulate learning models that suit the various teaching styles of elementary school students. This study uses a systematic literature review method, analyzing related articles and formulating them into discussions about problem formulations, learning models that match the diverse visual, auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles of elementary school students. The results of this study formulate a learning model that suits the learning style of elementary school students that has a positive impact in the form of improving learning outcomes, namely: 1) Problem Based Learning based learning model for visual learning styles, 2) Discovery Learning-based learning model for auditorial and visual learning styles, 3) PAKEM learning model for kinesthetic learning styles, 4) Inquiry learning model for visual, auditorial and kinesthetic learning styles, 5) Student Team Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative-based learning model for auditorial and visual learning styles. This research can be implemented by teachers to elementary school students as a form of effort to improve the quality of student learning and as an effort to advance education in Indonesia.

ALTERATION: 2013 CURRICULUM BECOMES MERDEKA CURRICULUM IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

The implementation of the 2013 curriculum in elementary schools had not been able to answer the problems of education in Indonesia. The results of the Pisa Indonesia test scores did not show a significant increase in scores, strengthening and instilling character values that matched expectations, as well as loss of learning experienced by students during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was important to make changes to improve the curriculum. The type of research used was a literature review. The stages carried out in this literature review include the search for related articles, filtering the content of articles that were in accordance with the article to be created, and synthesis of article content. The 2013 curriculum had not been able to accommodate the needs of learning about literacy and character which are important needs today. Thus, an adequate curriculum framework was needed and in accordance with the needs of students, so that students get the right to learn as a whole. Therefore, the independent curriculum provides solutions through independent learning programs and driving teacher programs that teachers hope to create creative and innovative learning, understand the learning needs of students, be technologically literate, and could create a democratic environment

Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Transformasional Kepala Sekolah dan Iklim Organisasi Sekolah terhadap Produktivitas Sekolah: Studi Kasus di SMPI Nuurushshibyan (YAPIN) Cileungsi


 The problem of education in Indonesia still requires extra attention, both in terms of government policies and internal problems at the school level. The school as an organization is led by a principal who is authorized to apply a certain leadership style for the realization of the school's goals. To achieve the goals of national education and realize the vision of the school, factors are needed that can be successful ranging from leadership, educators, staff, infrastructure, work climate and several factors in it. So that the objectives of this study are: (1) To analyze how much influence the principal's transformational leadership has on school productivity at SMPI Nuurushshibyan Cileungsi; (2) To analyze how much influence the school organizational climate has on school productivity at SMPI Nuurushshibyan Cileungsi; (3) To analyze how much influence the principal's transformational leadership and climate school organization of school productivity at SMPI Nuurshshibyan Cileungsi. This research uses a quantitative approach, using a descriptive study method, which is a method directed at solving problems by explaining or describing what the results of the study are, all populations are made into samples so that they are called saturated samples. The results of this study are; (1) The influence of transformational principal leadership on productivity was highly influential by 36.4%; (b) The organizational climate has a 34.5% influence on school productivity; and (c) For transformational principal leadership and the school's organizational climate both have a 72% effect on school productivity.

Kebijakan Pendidikan : Pemerataan dan Perluasan Akses ( Rehabilitasi Ruang Kelas Yang Rusak)

Education is one of the important things that can affect the progress of a country. The school building is an essential part of organizing teaching and learning activities. Routine care and maintenance can maintain the quality of school buildings, so they can be used safely and comfortably. Development uses funds provided by the regional government and the central government in the form of special allocation funds (DAK). Seeing how the quality of educational infrastructure is one of the problems of education in Indonesia. While the quality of education infrastructure in Indonesia is still considered low, the renovation of school buildings has increased students' enthusiasm for learning. Indonesian children have a high enthusiasm for learning, therefore we should not let their enthusiasm and smiles fade from their faces just because the development of education in Indonesia is uneven.

Problem dan Pengembangan Pendidikan Islam di Indonesia

Quality, relevance, elitism, and management are the four main crises that are at the heart of the problem of education in Indonesia. On these four issues, various quantitative indicators have been proposed, including a comparison of the educational situation in Asian countries. In the laws and regulations governing the state education system, Islamic education is a component of national education. This discussion discusses the problems and development of Islamic education as a formulation of the existing problems. A component of the overall state policy is education policy. so that national education in the end must return to its goal, namely to empower the community by returning the community's autonomy to develop themselves. The following are the basic principles of the Islamic education system: 1) Based on the Islamic creed, Islam establishes curriculum principles, methods and educational goals. 2) Faith development should be the focus of education. 3) The aim of education is to bring out the best in everyone and minimize the worst in them while maintaining harmony with human nature. Islamic education is urged to develop new operational strategies and tactics in addition to curriculum and management tools. In pedagogical, sociological, and cultural terms, these strategies and tactics demonstrate their role to the point that they require an overhaul of models and institutions to make them more effective.

PENGEMBANGAN KURIKULUM 2013: PEMBELAJARAN BAHASA ARAB DI MADRASAH ALIYAH

One of the problems of education in Indonesia is that the curriculum has never been established, even though it has changed the curriculum too much. This research discusses the development of the 2013 curriculum in Madrasah Aliyah with a focus on analyzing the substance of the latest curriculum, namely KMA No. 183 and 184 of 2019 in Arabic subjects. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a content analysis model. The results of this study contribute in the form of understanding and opening the horizons of thinking of teachers that this new curriculum is no longer a rigid curriculum, therefore teachers as curriculum users must be innovative and flexible

Teacher Professional Development in Indonesia’s Remote Areas with Driven Educational Philanthropic Institutions

The three main problems of education in Indonesia’s remote areas: policy, human resources, and funding, are still deeply rooted today. The government’s unequal attention to remote schools makes the quality of education worse. To overcome this and as an effort to support government programs, the Tanoto Foundation has been driven by funding remote schools and training for teachers to develop their professionalism. This study aims to analyze how the Tanoto Foundation supports the professional development of teachers in remote areas and how the facilitation program activities are carried out. This research uses a qualitative case study approach by extracting data using philanthropic program documents and interviews with teachers and facilitators in three provinces. The results that the driven by Tanoto Foundation are focused on funding support in the provision of facilities and infrastructure, as well as the ‘Service-Learning’ training facilitation program for teachers. Forms of facilitation activities such as Pelita Guru Mandiri and the PINTAR program have trained many teachers and produced various innovative and fun learning methods, as well as learning products that were exhibited at the Education Expo. The results contribute philanthropic institutions are driven not only by funding but also by the development of teacher professionalism, which is still low and does not receive attention.

PROBLEMS OF EDUCATION IN INDONESIA AND ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS

Today, education in Indonesia is assessed by various groups, both at home and abroad, has been facing various challenges and problems so that it has a negative impact on low quality of education in Indonesia. For this reason, this research was deliberately carried out as a contributive step to identify various challenges and problems faced by the world of education in Indonesia and recommend several solution steps so that they can contribute ideas to improve education in Indonesia. This research uses the qualitative approach by applying the literature study method as well as collecting primary data and various secondary sources through documentation, followed by analysis of the data obtained. From the research conducted, it can be found that there are several challenges and problems of education in Indonesia, including unbalanced education output, low quality of facilities and infrastructure, low quality and behavior of teachers, student moral behavior, and tolerance for racial intolerance. In order to overcome the problems above, it is necessary to have mutual cooperation and collaboration from all parts of nation as the key to implementing several alternative solutions, including improving the welfare of education, building a world view and improving the mindset of teachers and students, developing a comprehensive curriculum design, overseeing budget allocations, increase the contribution of the business world and others.

Contribution of Organizational Climate and Emotional Intelligence through Professional Competence toward Work Effectiveness of Elementary School Teachers in the Sub-Districts of Martapura Kota

Among numerous problems of education in Indonesia, one of them is the effectiveness of teachers' work. The quality of an educational institution is strongly influenced by the effectiveness of the work of teachers, and there are other factors such as organizational climate, emotional intelligence and professional competence. Based on the results of preliminary study through observations, the level of teacher effectiveness is still not maximized, such as teacher preparation in learning, utilization of media and learning resources, innovation in developing teaching materials, and the ability of teachers to develop self-quality. Therefore, this current study aims to analyze the direct and indirect contribution between organizational climate and emotional intelligence through professional competence on work effectiveness. This study used a quantitative approach, with facto exposure. The population of this study was 300 people from 32 elementary schools. The sampling technique used was a proportional random sampling. The number of samples was determined based on the Slovin formula with 171 respondents. The data was collected using a questionnaire consisting of organizational climate (20 items), emotional intelligence (40 items), professional competence (36 items) and work effectiveness (30 items). This research instrument has been already tested for the level of validity and reliability using the product moment person correlation test. The data in this study were analyzed using path analysis to see the direct and indirect contributions between variables, by first using normality, homogeneity, and multicollinearity tests. The results showed that there were direct and indirect contributions between organizational climate, emotional intelligence, professional competence and work effectiveness.

Implementation of Increased Education Participation in the Pandemic Era Through the Conditional Cash Transfer

The problem of education in Indonesia is still experiencing many problems, especially at the primary and secondary education levels. This can be seen in several cases of children dropping out of school, one of which occurred in Ponorogo Regency. For this reason, this study aims to describe the implementation of increasing educational participation through the Conditional Cash Transfer Program. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods and data searches using interviews. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Conditional Cash Transfer Program has been carried out according to the procedure. However, the level of education participation is still not optimal because children still do not continue their education to the next level. For this reason, cooperation from various parties is needed to increase the level of education participation in the Ponorogo Regency.

MENINJAU PERMASALAHAN RENDAHNYA KUALITAS PENDIDIKAN DI INDONESIA DAN SOLUSI

This article is written to discuss the currently low quality of Indonesian education. In fact, education is something that is agreed upon to be the main thing in any nation. The quality of education in a nation is one of the determinants of the nation's progress. In other words, the progress of a nation or country can be seen from the quality of education in that nation and country. Therefore, this paper describes what problems Indonesia faces that can hinder the realization of a good quality education. Then it also describes how solutions can be made as an effort to overcome the problems of education in Indonesia. This study the authors used a qualitative method, namely by conducting a literature review. The author collects data and information from trusted journals and books and is in accordance with the discussion of this article. With this paper, it is hoped that it will raise awareness from each individual to build a better and more advanced Indonesia in order to prepare quality humans

HOMESCHOOLING: A FORMULA FOR ESTABLISHING ISLAMIC EDUCATION IN REMOTE COMMUNITIES IN INDONESIA

The disparity in the equality of education in Indonesia, especially in backwoods areas, is one of the problems of education in Indonesia. One of the Government's action in overcoming this gap is by distributing teachers to remote areas of the country. In addition, the government also stipulates several laws and regulations as the formal legality of education in backwoods communities. This study aims to explore the possibility of implementing the homeschool education model (homeschooling) for backwoods communities, as an effort to applied Islamic subject matter and prevail education in Indonesia. This study uses a naturalistic phenomenological approach, using triangulation as one of the data analyzes. The research location is in Hansibong, a backwoods hamlet in the Sojol mountains of ParigiMoutong district, Central Sulawesi. The results of this study found that education in Hansibong is carried out informally within the family. Learning process is held in a traditional way, using very minimal of media, methods and subject matter. The material taught is limited to morality values, reading and writing, arithmetic and the ability to survive in nature. Islamic education in its function as a strengthening of cognitive intelegence, morals, spirituality and nationality has not been provided in learning at home. As a research implication, a homeschooling socialization effort is needed so that the student community can continue to a higher level. The implementation of homeschooling that is not in accordance with the technical guidelines issued by the government will only disserve students because learning outcomes cannot be equalized with existing education levels.

Character Education or Adab? (An Offer to the Problem of Education in Indonesia)‎

This paper analyzes the implementing concept of curriculum in Indonesia which is consideredable to improve the quality and education system. However, the concept has not showed positive results. On the one hand, integrated character education in the government curriculum has not been able to solve the problem of the moral degradation of the younger generation. This study is a literature review busing qualitative data. The method used is content analysis by analyzing the concept of character education and the concept of adab (ta'dib). As the result, it was found that there were fundamental differences between the concept of character education and the concept of adab . Character education aims to create good citizens (good society), while concept of adab aims to create good people (good individuals). In contrast to that, character education has a fundamental difference to the concept of adab . Furthermore, character education is derived from the Western concept that indicated secular, while the concept of adab is indigenous value from the concept of Islamic education. The concept of adab is considered capable of being an alternative solution for educational theaching in Indonesia because it is in accordance with the objectives of national education which is based on faith ( al-Iman), devotion ( al-Taqwa) and noble character ( al-akhlak al-karimah).

Mapping the Problems of Indonesia’s Education System: Lessons Learned from Finland

: The emergence of having a good education system is one of the hot issues among scholars and stakeholders. Indonesia is now facing various challenges to create a good education system for the better future of its people. This paper examines the problems of Indonesia's education system. A qualitative descriptive research design was applied for the present study. The data in the present study were obtained through observation, library, and documentation study, as well as make use of state of the art sources in the related studies both education in Indonesia and Finland as a role model. Furthermore, the literature review was used to elucidate the findings from the previous studies. The data were analyzed qualitatively by mapping and describing the problems of Indonesia’s education system and take a look at the similar aspects of the Finland system. It discusses Indonesia’s education problems, including well-trained teacher’s deployment, student’s tuition fee, class size, and school facilities and access, then further explores Finland's success story in the educational sector as a role model. Mapping the problems of Education in Indonesia enables us to improve Indonesia's education system to achieve the international competitiveness in 2025. The Impacts of Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) Method on University Students' Reading Comprehension Skills in Indonesia

One of the problems of education in Indonesia is the low level of public literacy both on a national and international scale. One of the essential aspects of improving literacy is by generating interest in reading in college students. This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) method on students' reading comprehension skills. There were 40 participants involved in the study which were divided into two groups, namely the control class and the experimental class. All participants are students from the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Palopo, South Sulawesi, Indonesia who are taking Indonesian language courses as a compulsory subject in higher education. To collect data, the researcher used an instrument in the form of a multiple-choice test which was given to both groups in the pretest and posttest sessions. The learning outcomes of the two test sessions were analyzed quantitatively using the SPSS 20.00 application. The results showed that the use of the CLIL method in Indonesian courses could improve students' reading comprehension skills. This is indicated by the difference in the average value between the pretest and posttest reading comprehension.
