Research on the Influencing Factors of Second-Generation Chinese Cognitive Construction from the Perspective of Identity

Abstract: The cognitive construction issues of second-generation Chinese immigrants have received widespread attention, but there is still a lack of analysis from the perspective of identity recognition. This article analyzes the influencing factors of cognitive construction for second-generation Chinese immigrants from the viewpoint of identity recognition. This article analyzes how the cognitive construction and social concepts of second-generation Chinese immigrants are related to language and education. Based on this, there are some suggestions in the article. First, achieve the formation of diverse concepts among the second generation of Chinese descendants through family education. Second, from an individual perspective, making a balance between Eastern and Western values to form suitable values. Finally, respecting the cultures of various countries and integrating into mainstream society. Through these analyses and recommendations, it can gain a deeper understanding of the cognitive construction problems faced by second-generation Chinese immigrants and find effective solutions to promote their identity recognition and social integration.

Design and development of bridge erecting machine with small curve radius and bottom feeding beam

As a key equipment in highway and railway construction, bridge erecting machines directly affect the feasibility, progress, and quality of project implementation. In order to solve the problem that traditional bridge building machines are only suitable for application scenarios with large turning radii and large lifting sites, and have low lifting efficiency, which cannot meet the requirements of urban elevated bridge construction, a small radius bottom feeding beam bridge building machine suitable for urban highway and railway construction is proposed. The feasibility and reliability were verified through force analysis and finite element analysis; Design a secondary turning structure and bridge construction process for the front leg, adjusting the turning angle to around 7°, significantly reducing the turning radius of the bridge building machine; Propose a technology for feeding and lifting beams at the bottom of dual-use bridge decks for highways and railways. By vertically lifting beams and slabs, the lifting space is significantly reduced and the lifting efficiency is improved. Finally, a small radius bottom feeding beam bridge erecting machine was developed and tested and applied. The results show that the small radius bottom feeding beam bridge erecting machine designed in this article reduces the turning radius of traditional bridge erecting machines from over 300 m to about 80 m, making it possible to carry out projects that were originally impossible, and solving the problem of elevated bridge construction in limited urban spaces.

Analytical study on plastic loosening zone of weak surrounding rocks tunnel in high cold areas

AbstractThe analysis of plastic loosening zone of tunnels with cold condition, high in situ stress, and weak stratum is the key scientific problem of tunnel construction in cold areas. Based on the unified strength theory and considering the coupling effect of high in situ stress and low‐temperature field, the analytical model of the plastic loosening zone of tunnel surrounding rocks was proposed, and the influence laws of physical parameters (initial ground stress, freezing temperature, excavation radius, and intermediate principal stress) was explored. The results illustrate that: (1) with the coupling of low temperature and stress fields, the in‐situ stress has a more significant effect on the radius of the plastic loosening zone of the tunnel surrounding rocks, showing a nonlinear correlation. When the in situ stress is small, the influence of the temperature field on the radius of the plastic loosening zone is more obvious. (2) The radius of the plastic loosening zone of the tunnel surrounding rocks increases synchronously with the excavation radius and gradually decreases with the increase of the intermediate principal stress. (3) The greater the temperature difference in the low‐temperature field, the tunnel stability has a more significant response to the intermediate principal stress and is positively correlated with the coefficient of the intermediate principal stress. (4) In the actual project, the proposed model can well describe the mechanical behavior and deformation characteristics of tunnel surrounding rocks in low‐temperature environment, showing applicability. The research results are expected to provide a theoretical basis for the study of tunnel stability in cold areas.

The Chinampa a Response to Climate Change: A Complex Model of Ancestral Wisdom for Urban Resilience

Introduction: In the context of climate change, cities face critical challenges in water management and sustainability. One of the most ingenious and adaptive procedures that has endured throughout history is that of chinampas, which is a model of sustainable agriculture, and reflects a way of life intimately connected with nature. Objective: Evaluate the possibility of incorporating the method based on the chinampas built by the Mexica culture in current cities to generate a complex model of urban resilience. Theoretical Framework: In the theoretical framework there are theories such as ecological utopia, dystopia, stationary urbanism addressed by Fernando Gaja, smart cities by Tim Campbell and sustainability from the perspective of Francisco Javier Aceves, in addition to the agroecology of Nicholls and the socioecological systems of Towers as main axes of analysis. Method: The methodology is based on complex systems from the approach of Edgar Morin and Rolando García, with stratification, and the application of different methods to form a complex unit that is a resilient city model with the use of chinampas. Results and Discussion: The excessive construction, pollution, traffic and various problems show an urban crisis that was drying up the basin of the Valley of Mexico and there are currently few areas where bodies of water and chinampas such as Xochimilco are still conserved with socio-ecological systems and agroecology. Research Implications: Urban resilience, which aims to recover from an impact caused by climate change to current cities, health, adequate habitability conditions, and natural resources, which is why searching for a resilient urban city model is a complex task. Originality/Value: It is based on the recovery of ancestral knowledge to reestablish healthy cities of the 21st century from sustainability and bioclimatics since chinampas are used by the Mexica culture in pre-Hispanic times.

PangeBlocks: customized construction of pangenome graphs via maximal blocks

BackgroundThe construction of a pangenome graph is a fundamental task in pangenomics. A natural theoretical question is how to formalize the computational problem of building an optimal pangenome graph, making explicit the underlying optimization criterion and the set of feasible solutions. Current approaches build a pangenome graph with some heuristics, without assuming some explicit optimization criteria. Thus it is unclear how a specific optimization criterion affects the graph topology and downstream analysis, like read mapping and variant calling.ResultsIn this paper, by leveraging the notion of maximal block in a Multiple Sequence Alignment (MSA), we reframe the pangenome graph construction problem as an exact cover problem on blocks called Minimum Weighted Block Cover (MWBC). Then we propose an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) formulation for the MWBC problem that allows us to study the most natural objective functions for building a graph. We provide an implementation of the ILP approach for solving the MWBC and we evaluate it on SARS-CoV-2 complete genomes, showing how different objective functions lead to pangenome graphs that have different properties, hinting that the specific downstream task can drive the graph construction phase.ConclusionWe show that a customized construction of a pangenome graph based on selecting objective functions has a direct impact on the resulting graphs. In particular, our formalization of the MWBC problem, based on finding an optimal subset of blocks covering an MSA, paves the way to novel practical approaches to graph representations of an MSA where the user can guide the construction.

Fire in house - investigation of the outbreak and spread of the fire in a countryside house

Fire in houses are a significant hazard often resulting in loss of life and substantial repair costs due to damage to the structure and contents. There is a clear need to prevent its ignition and spread to adjacent areas. This article presents the steps taken, namely: contacts, data collection, tests, analysis, and conclusions regarding the accident resulting from the outbreak and spread of a fire, on December 25, 2020, in a traditional Portuguese house in Arganil, Portugal. An expert with specialized technical-scientific knowledge was requested to conduct this investigation, which involved observations and data analysis followed by laboratory tests the work consists of carrying out observations and data analysis. Then, the observed and analysed data were laboratory tested to consistently identify characteristics that lead to the ignition and propagation of the fire. This work identified construction problems, materials used and heat sources that are responsible for the accident. The conclusions may be used to avoid future incidents or accidents with houses of same construction type.

Necessary and Sufficient Conditions for the Boundedness of Multiple Integral Operators with Super-Homogeneous Kernels in Weighted Lebesgue Space

Super-homogeneous functions including homogeneous functions, quasi-homogeneous functions, and several non-homogeneous functions are considered. Using the weight function method, the construction conditions of Hilbert-type multiple integral inequalities with super-homogeneous kernels are first discussed. Then, using the obtained results, the construction problem of bounded multiple integral operators with super-homogeneous kernels in weighted Lebesgue space is discussed, and the necessary and sufficient conditions for operator boundedness and the operator norm formula are obtained.

Research on the Loss Rule of the Leakage Problem in Residential Construction Based on Water Spray and Storage Tests

Leakage issues have received increasing attention as the most common and significant source of complaints in residential construction quality problems. In this study, based on the classification of residential construction leakage problems, 1947 water spray tests and 2333 water storage tests were conducted on 18 construction projects. An empirical analysis of 432 leakage cases was conducted to determine the loss law for a single leakage point as well as the loss laws for different grades of leakage problems. Through empirical analysis, it can be concluded that more than 90% of the leakage problems are third-level. To better understand the quantitative law of the residential construction leakage problem, a total loss law model was developed. Finally, the law of leakage loss in residential construction is summarized, and measures to reduce leakage loss in residential construction are proposed. This research can provide a theoretical basis and model tools for inherent defect insurance and help insurance companies control insurance risks and drive the promotion of inherent defect insurance.

Submerged and completely open solid–liquid triboelectric nanogenerator for water wave energy harvesting

AbstractTriboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is an emerging wave energy harvesting technology with excellent potential. However, due to issues with sealing, anchoring, and difficult deployment over large areas, TENG still cannot achieve large‐scale wave energy capture. Here, a submerged and completely open solid–liquid TENG (SOSL‐TENG) is developed for ocean wave energy harvesting. The SOSL‐TENG is adapted to various water environments. Due to its simple structure, it is easy to deploy into various marine engineering facilities in service. Importantly, this not only solves the problem of difficult construction of TENG networks at present, but also effectively utilizes high‐quality wave energy resources. The working mechanism and output performance of the SOSL‐TENG are systematically investigated. With optimal triggering conditions, the transferred charge (Qtr) and short‐circuit current (Isc) of SOSL‐TENG are 2.58 μC and 85.9 μA, respectively. The wave tank experiment is taken for fully demonstrating the superiority of the SOSL‐TENG network in large‐scale collection and conversion of wave energy. Due to the excellent output performance, TENG can harvest wave energy to provide power for various commercial electronic devices such as LED beads, hygrothermograph, and warning lights. Importantly, the SOSL‐TENG networks realizes self‐powered for electrochemical systems, which provides a direction for energy cleanliness in industrial systems. This work provides a prospective strategy for large‐scale deployment of TENG applications, especially for harvesting wave energy in spray splash zones or at the surface of the water.image

SWMR Algorithm Approach for the Vendor Managed Inventory Problem when Static Demand Rates

In a two-phase supply chain with Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) policies, the supplier takes on the duty of keeping its retailers' inventory up to date and making sure they never run out of stock. This is in addition to his inbound inventory. This study aims to combine the retailers in various set partitions or to maximize their distribution and inventory holding costs within the same set partition. This paper focuses on a two-stage supply chain made of a single warehouse and multiple retailers (SWMR) facing a static demand and implementing VMI. We proposed a model for coordinating the system with a two-phase solution method. The first phase is to minimize the overall inventory costs and, in the second phase, a constructive vehicle routing problem (VRP) heuristic is used to optimize the distribution costs by satisfying some additional restrictions. Results of this implementation of VMI in an illustrative supply chain case are shown and discussed in detail.

Design and Test of Hydraulic Bottom Seal Fracturing Tool for Coiled Tubing

Abstract As the main tool for reservoir reconstruction of Longdong shale reservoir in Changqing Oilfield, the coiled tubing bottom seal drag-segment fracturing tool is currently in the stage of scale promotion, providing tool support for the efficient development of Longdong shale oil. However, in the process of horizontal construction with large water vertical ratio and super long horizontal section, there are construction problems such as natural depth limitation of the tool and difficulty in setting the bottom packer, which seriously affect the construction efficiency and quality. In view of the above problems, this paper carried out the development of pumped coiled tubing hydraulic bottom seal drag-segment fracturing tool. With the technical ideas of pumping cup deepening and hydraulic setting bottom packer, the hydraulic setting type bottom packer, soluble cup pumping sub and supporting tools were designed and developed. By using the method of annular pumping and tubing accompanying injection, the tail cup pumping sub was used to generate throttle and larger cup outer diameter, forming a large hydraulic traction force to carry the tool string to break the depth limit. Without applying drilling pressure, the bottom packer was set by oil injection and displacement, and the setting state was lifted and lifted after the fracturing construction, providing a reliable tool scheme for solving the above engineering problems. The indoor evaluation results show that the traction effect of the bowl pumping short joint with small displacement of water is good, the bottom packer is smooth in the setting and unpacking action at 120°C, and the sealing is reliable under 70MPa pressure. The overall test of the tool string can realize the setting and unpacking action without the intervention of drill pressure. Six well tests were carried out in the field. The pumping depth was 430m under the condition of 740L/min water pumping displacement, and the oil injection displacement was increased to 550L/min. The hydraulic setting was fast and reliable, which effectively improved the construction capacity of the coiled tubing fracturing tool in the ultra-long horizontal well, greatly shortened the time consumption of interlayer conversion, and improved the speed and efficiency significantly.

The article analyses the phraseme construction Es ist zum + Vinf [!] (substantivised verb infinitive). Es ist zum Heulen / Verzweifeln / Verrücktwerden / Lachen etc. will be focussed on from a contrastive German-Czech perspective with regard to its form and function in the text as well as its translation possibilities. Evidence from the parallel corpus InterCorp of the Czech National Corpus (CNK) will be analysed comparatively.

Consistency of Youth Identity Construction in Media Texts: Development and Adaptation of Actor-Network Theory for Empirical Media Research (Сase Study)

The formation of youth identity in communication is on the agenda of many areas of humanitarian knowledge. We analyzed communication within the framework of an educational media project, which resulted in the construction of the expected identity. In the course of the analysis, we used a conceptual model of communication that combines the stages of identity construction in interaction with the environment and the actions of actors from the standpoint of the methodology of actor-network theory. A three-dimensional model of communication is presented for the first time, where actors and actants change the communicative process by their affordances and resistance. The obtained results allow to delineate the necessary actions of human and non-human actors at each stage of communication and identity integration, giving the opportunity to justify a new theoretical direction in the study of the problems of identity construction through media communication. The methodology requires further testing, but there are already positive results. The tendency of actualization of urban identity of young people depending on the focus on interaction with the heritage of the city and according to the stages of communication, according to the conceptual model, has been established. The article is intended for specialists in mass communication and journalism, and will also be useful for those interested in the ontological turn in humanitarian knowledge, actor-network theory, discourse and media text analysis.

Issues of Agglomeration Identity Policy in Statements of Russian Regional Politicians: Discourse Analysis of the Social Network “Vkontakte” Materials

The article examines how issues of identity construction in Russian urban agglomerations are reflected in the Russian regional politicians’ discourse in mass media. The study concerns theoretical problems of identity construction and the role of regional government bodies in shaping the territorial identity of the population. The specificity of the Russian situation is the absence of governing bodies related to the agglomeration level in most urban agglomerations. The empirical basis of the study is the texts of subnational politicians posted on the official websites of regional government bodies: websites of governors and regional governments, official pages in the mass media. The empirical information on identity policy were collected from the Internet sources (official portals of regional executive authorities, media reports). Discourse analysis was carried out after monitoring social media materials (VKontakte web-pages of regional leaders). The article reflects five cases out of sixteen Russian ones related to the Ural and Siberian agglomerations with a megalopolis core. The empirical data cover the period from December 2022 to the end of 2023. The choice of the time period for analysis is determined by the fact that by this period the most significant factors influencing the policy of our state at present (the pandemic and the Special military operation) have already manifested themselves in full. It has been confirmed that the problems of agglomeration development in the public official subfederal discourse in most cases are reduced to economic problems; first of all, it concerns the development of industry, science (high technology), transport, and waste disposal. In all analyzed cases, insufficient attention was found out, paid to the role of the implemented socio-cultural projects of subfederal identity policy, and also distancing from the discussion of the problems of integration of labor migrants in the public space. Insignificant number of messages from representatives of the regional political and administrative elite about the socio-cultural meanings of the formed agglomerations can become a significant limitation of information support for the agglomeration development of modern contemporary Russia.

PROBLEMA DE DESPLACAMENTO CERÂMICO EM OBRAS VERTICAIS

Before the arrival of the Europeans, the Brazilian indigenous peoples already practiced the use of ceramic production in an advanced way. Ceramic tiles can be found in different forms, such as floors, tiles, and tiles, and are available in a variety of colors, textures, and patterns, allowing for extensive customization of spaces. These materials are especially popular in areas such as kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces, where water and wear resistance are crucial. In addition, ceramic coating is a good thermal and acoustic insulator, contributing to the comfort of environments. Thus, this article aims to show the reader the importance of quality in the process of performing the service to avoid the inconvenience caused by the fact of the detachment. The research began through a literature review of the main authors on the subject of displacement. Based on studies carried out through articles, monographs, dissertations, theses, among others, it is clear that the peeling of tiles or ceramics is considered the most common and serious problem in civil construction and its cause is the most varied. Therefore, it is concluded that the main causes of ceramic peeling is nothing more than a defect in the system that did not allow the correct adhesion between the plates, the mortar and the wall or floor, causing the pieces to detach.

Increasing the reliability of oil and gas well fastening with polycomponent plugging systems

Purpose. Development of effective composite plugging systems for reliable fastening of oil and gas wells in difficult mining-geological conditions of deposits of Ukraine. Methods. The proposed research is based on an analytical and industrial study of the problems of the well construction and fastening in the conditions of chemogenic deposit occurrence when applying the analysis of geophysical research materials. The research of tamponage solutions and buffer liquids was carried out using standard devices and methods that meet the set of requirements for testing cements and technological systems for well construction. Processing of research results was carried out in MATHSAD and EXCEL. Composite cement CEM V according to the European standard EN 197-1, tamponage cement 1-G, krents - high-basic C2F CaSO4 and low-basic 3(CF) CaSO4 calcium sulfoferites were used for the research. Findings. It was established that the basic plugging material, as well as technological solutions for fastening wells in difficult mining-geological conditions, do not ensure compliance of the well as an engineering structure with operational reliability indicators. As a result, violations in the fastening system are quite often recorded, which require significant time and financial costs for their elimination, and sometimes lead to well liquidation. In order to increase the reliability of fastening wells, it is necessary to use multi-component tamponade systems modified by krents. Calcium sulfoferrite admixtures have been proved to accelerate the kinetics of early strength and contribute to the formation of cement stone with improved characteristics. The need to use effective buffer systems to improve the quality of fastening is substantiated. Originality. On the basis of assessment, systematization and detailed study of geophysical material and features of well fastening under the conditions of exposure to chemogenic sediments, the necessity of using composite plugging material was established. The conducted studies have proved that to ensure reliable fastening of wells in difficult mining-geological conditions, it is necessary to use multicomponent composite plugging material modified by calcium sulfoferites with accelerated kinetics of early strength, which form cement stone with a densely packed structure. Practical implications. Based on the industrial material evaluation and detailed laboratory studies, technological solutions have been developed to increase the reliability of well fastening due to the introduction of multi-component composite plugging material modified by krents and buffer liquids.

Research on the Location Selection Problem of Electric Bicycle Battery Exchange Cabinets Based on an Improved Immune Algorithm

The rise of new energy technologies has accelerated progress towards sustainable development, and many companies are beginning to invest in renewable resource-related facilities. Electric bicycles have always been an important mode of green transportation; however, they also have problems such as slow charging, difficult charging, and that burning and short circuiting may occur during charging. Electric bicycle battery exchange cabinets effectively solve these problems by exchanging low batteries with full batteries instead of charging. However, current battery exchange cabinets face the problems of insufficient construction and unreasonable site selection. Therefore, this paper proposes a location selection model for electric bicycle battery exchange cabinets based on point demand theory, aiming to maximize rider satisfaction and the service capacity of exchange cabinets. The immune algorithm is introduced to solve the location model; however, the traditional immune algorithm has some problems such as poor stability and slow convergence. In this paper, the mutation process of the traditional immune algorithm is improved by introducing multi-point mutation, guided mutation, and local search. Finally, based on the data of electric bicycle riders in Shanghai, we verify that the location model based on point demand theory performs well on two objective functions of rider satisfaction and battery exchange cabinet service capability. We also expand the application of point demand theory to location models. Then, by conducting experiments with different parameter groups, through sensitivity analysis and convergence analysis, we verified that the improved immune algorithm performs better than the traditional immune algorithm in its accuracy, search accuracy, stability, and convergence.

Digital Application of BIM Technology in the Architectural Design Stage

This paper discusses the digital application of building information model (BIM) technology in the architectural design stage. Taking the large-scale comprehensive development project of Guangxi headquarters base as an example, this paper analyzes in detail how BIM technology promotes the intelligence and refinement of the design process. Through the three-dimensional modeling and simulation analysis of BIM technology, the project design has realized the accurate transformation from concept to operation, which not only improves the design efficiency, but also ensures the construction quality and economic benefits. This paper focuses on the application of BIM in the digital design of building structure, the deepening design of steel nodes, as well as the remarkable results in the comprehensive layout optimization of mechanical and electrical pipelines. Through the collision detection and optimization design of the BIM model, the potential design conflicts and construction problems were found and solved at the initial stage of the project, ensuring the efficient promotion and smooth implementation of the project. The research results show that BIM technology, as the core digital tool in the architectural design stage, is of great significance for improving the overall design level of the construction industry and realizing intelligent construction.
