Sociosemiotics as an impetus for naming

Albanian linguistics today finds itself in a new situation of studies and research in the continuation of the treatment of unexplored issues against the known ones, which as concepts have interacted following the path of a scientific axiom. Among the unspoken knowledge, like any other science, is semiotics (sociosemiotics, the field of our research) which is considered the "foundation of all sciences". It has the progress of constitution and development, but compared to many other sciences it is at the initiative of development. The paper will briefly address the emergence of this knowledge, its development and history, and then present the knowledge, understanding, goals, actions, basic concepts, main themes of treatment, importance, integration, primary areas of research, and sociosemiotic research as a motivating impetus. We have noticed that sociosemiotics not only has a study function for meaningful phenomena defined by the pragmatic dimensions of signs, but also has other additional effects such as p. sh. sociocultural, ethical, aesthetic, motivating, coordinating effects, etc. This can be seen from the internal motivational-subjective motivational impulses, based on pragmatic semiotics. We support the fact that sign theory is present in various fields of activity and creativity, so it is of scientific interest to investigate and analyze sociosemiotic indicators, which we have tried to address. Research in this field does not only belong to albanological knowledge, they, as seen in this paper, belong to many other sciences and are of particular interest for their further development. The lack of literature in the Albanian language for this knowledge is one reason that its research has not been conducted in research so far.

Exploring the structure of misconceptions in the Force and Motion Conceptual Evaluation with modified module analysis

Investigating student learning and understanding of conceptual physics is a primary research area within Physics Education Research (PER). Multiple quantitative methods have been employed to analyze commonly used mechanics conceptual inventories: the Force Concept Inventory (FCI) and the Force and Motion Conceptual Evaluation (FMCE). Recently, researchers have applied network analytic techniques to explore the structure of the incorrect responses to the FCI identifying communities of incorrect responses which could be mapped on to common misconceptions. In this study, the method used to analyze the FCI, Modified Module Analysis (MMA), was applied to a large sample of FMCE pretest and post-test responses ($N_{pre}=3956$, $N_{post}=3719$). The communities of incorrect responses identified were consistent with the item groups described in previous works. As in the work with the FCI, the network was simplified by only retaining nodes selected by a substantial number of students. Retaining nodes selected by 20\% of the students produced communities associated with only four misconceptions. The incorrect response communities identified for men and women were substantially different, as was the change in these communities from pretest to post-test. The 20% threshold was far more restrictive than the 4% threshold applied to the FCI in the prior work which generated similar structures. Retaining nodes selected by 5% or 10% of students generated a large number of complex communities. The communities identified at the 10\% threshold were generally associated with common misconceptions producing a far richer set of incorrect communities than the FCI; this may indicate that the FMCE is a superior instrument for characterizing the breadth of student misconceptions about Newtonian mechanics.

The highly secure polynomial pool-based key pre-distribution scheme for wireless sensor network

Secure key distribution and management is a primary research area in wireless sensor network. The requirement of secure and efficient communication between the nodes in a sensor network has directed the cryptographers to design various light weight key encryption and distribution techniques. In this paper, we have discussed and analyzed the different key distribution protocols and proposed the highly secure polynomial pool based key distribution technique with the help of sparse matrix to reduce the storage and computational complexity

Update on Cryptosporidium spp.: highlights from the Seventh International Giardia and Cryptosporidium Conference.

While cryptosporidiosis is recognized as being among the most common causes of human parasitic diarrhea in the world, there is currently limited knowledge on Cryptosporidium infection mechanisms, incomplete codification of diagnostic methods, and a need for additional therapeutic options. In response, the Seventh International Giardia and Cryptosporidium Conference (IGCC 2019) was hosted from 23 to 26 June 2019, at the Rouen Normandy University, France. This trusted event brought together an international delegation of researchers to synthesize recent advances and identify key research questions and knowledge gaps. The program of the interdisciplinary conference included all aspects of host-parasite relationships from basic research to applications to human and veterinary medicine, and environmental issues associated with waterborne parasites and their epidemiological consequences. In relation to Cryptosporidium and cryptosporidiosis, the primary research areas for which novel findings and the most impressive communications were presented and discussed included: Cryptosporidium in environmental waters, seafood, and fresh produce; Animal epidemiology; Human cryptosporidiosis and epidemiology; Genomes and genomic evolution encompassing: Comparative genomics of Cryptosporidium spp., Genomic insights into biology, Acquiring and utilizing genome sequences, Genetic manipulation; Host-parasite interaction (immunology, microbiome); and Diagnosis and treatment. High quality presentations discussed at the conference reflected decisive progress and identified new opportunities that will engage investigators and funding agencies to spur future research in a “one health” approach to improve basic knowledge and the clinical and public health management of zoonotic cryptosporidiosis.

Yaşam hakkı, pozitif iktidarın beden siyaseti için biçilmiş bir kaftandır. Yaşam, modernitede bütün toplumsal alanı kuşatan temel kavram haline getirilince, hukukun en temel koruma alanı olarak ön plana çıkmıştır. Beden siyasetini göz önüne almadan yaşam hakkını anlamak ise kaçınılmaz olarak eksik kalır. Akademik bir disiplin olarak insan haklarının ve tabi ki insan hakları hukukunun en temel ilgi alanı da yaşam olmuştur. Yaşam hakkı, Avrupa İnsan Hakları Sözleşmesi’nde (AİHS), temel kurucu hak olarak yer alır. Sözleşmenin 2. maddesinde düzenlenen hakkın, sözleşmenin yürürlüğü girişinden günümüze, içtihatlar dolayımıyla kapsamı bir hayli genişletilmiştir. İçtihatların güçlü etkisiyle sözleşmenin durağan bir metin olmaktan çıkıp dinamik bir içerik kazandığı söylenebilir. Yine bu sayede sözleşmenin yeni ortaya çıkan durumlara kendisini uyarladığını söylemek gerekir. Son olarak belirtmek gerekir ki sözleşme metninde yer almamakla birlikte, kürtaj, ötanazi gibi birçok konu içtihatlarda tartışılmıştır.

Generation and Analysis of Hybrid-Electric Vehicle Transmission Shift Schedules with a Torque Split Algorithm

The increased concern over global climate change and lack of long-term sustainability of fossil fuels in the projected future has prompted further research into advanced alternative fuel vehicles to reduce vehicle emissions and fuel consumption. One of the primary advanced vehicle research areas involves electrification and hybridization of vehicles. As hybrid-electric vehicle technology has advanced, so has the need for more innovative control schemes for hybrid vehicles, including the development and optimization of hybrid powertrain transmission shift schedules. The hybrid shift schedule works in tandem with a cost function-based torque split algorithm that dynamically determines the optimal torque command for the electric motor and engine. The focus of this work is to develop and analyze the benefits and limitations of two different shift schedules for a position-3 (P3) parallel hybrid-electric vehicle. a traditional two-parameter shift schedule that operates as a function of vehicle accelerator position and vehicle speed (state of charge (SOC) independent shift schedule), and a three-parameter shift schedule that also adapts to fluctuations in the state of charge of the high voltage batteries (SOC dependent shift schedule). The shift schedules were generated using an exhaustive search coupled with a fitness function to evaluate all possible vehicle operating points. The generated shift schedules were then tested in the software-in-the-loop (SIL) environment and the vehicle-in-the-loop (VIL) environment and compared to each other, as well as to the stock 8L45 8-speed transmission shift schedule. The results show that both generated shift schedules improved upon the stock transmission shift schedule used in the hybrid powertrain comparing component efficiency, vehicle efficiency, engine fuel economy, and vehicle fuel economy.

An overview of techniques for multifold enhancement in solubility of poorly soluble drugs

Abstract Poor water solubility of newly discovered compounds has become the most common challenge in the drug development process. Indeed, poor solubility is considered as the root cause of failure of drug during drug development phases. Moreover, it has also been reported to be the main reason for bioavailability issues such as poor, inconsistent, incomplete and highly variable bioavailability of the marketed products. As per an estimate, approximately 90% of drug molecules suffer with poor water solubility at early stage and approximately 40% of the marketed drugs have bioavailability problems mainly due to poor water solubility. Solubility enhancement of the newly discovered compounds is primary research area for the pharmaceutical industries and research institutions. The conventional techniques to improve aqueous solubility of drugs employ salt formation, prodrug formation, co-crystallization, complexation, amorphous solid dispersion and use of co-solvent, surfactants or hydrotropic agents. Current advancement in the science and technology has enabled the use of relatively new techniques under the umbrella of nanotechnology. These include the development of nanocrystals, nanosuspensions, nanoemulsions, microemulsions, liposomes and nanoparticles to enhance the solubility. This review focuses on the conventional and current approaches of multifold enhancement in the solubility of poorly soluble marketed drugs, including newly discovered compounds.

SCM research leadership: the ranked agents and their networks

PurposeThis study aims to examine publications of supply chain management (SCM) researchers from across the world and maps the leadership role of authors and institutions based on how prolific they are in publishing and on network measures of centrality while accounting for the quality of the outlets that they publish in. It aims to inform stakeholders on who the leading SCM scholars are, their primary areas of SCM research, their publication profiles and the nature of their networks. It also identifies and informs on the leading SCM research institutions of the world and where leadership in specific areas of SCM research is emerging from.Design/methodology/approachBased on SCM papers appearing in a set of seven leading journals over the 15-year period of 2001-2015, publication scores and social network analysis measures of total degree centrality and Bonacich power centrality are used to identify the highest ranked agents in SCM research overall, as well as in some specific areas of SCM research. Social network analysis is also used to examine the nature and scope of the networks of the ranked agents and where leadership in SCM research is emerging from.FindingsAuthors and institutions from the USA and UK are found to dominate much of the rankings in SCM research both by publication score and social network analysis measures of centrality. In examining the networks of the very top authors and institutions of the world, their networks are found to be more inward-looking (country-centric) than outward-looking (globally dispersed). Further, researchers in Europe and Asia alike are found to exhibit significant continental inclinations in their network formations with researchers in Europe displaying greater propensity to collaborate with their European-based counterparts and researchers in Asia with their Asian-based counterparts. Also, from among the journals,Supply Chain Management: An International Journalis found to exhibit a far more expansive global reach than any of the other journals.Research limitations/implicationsThe journal set used in this study, though representative of high-quality SCM research outlets, is not exhaustive of all potential outlets that publish SCM research. Further, the measure of quality that this study assigns to the various publications is based solely on a publication score that accounts for the quality of the journals, as rated byAssociation of Business Schoolsthat the papers appear in and nothing else.Practical implicationsBy informing the community of stakeholders of SCM research about the top-ranked SCM authors, institutions and countries of the world, the nature of their networks, as well as what the primary areas of SCM research of the leading authors in the world are, this research provides stakeholders, including managers, researchers and students, information that is helpful to them not only because of the insights it provides but also for the gauging of potential for embedding themselves in specific networks, engaging in collaborative research with the leading agents or pursuing educational opportunities with them.Originality/valueThis research is the first of its kind to identify and rank the top SCM authors and institutions from across the world using a representative set of seven leading SCM and primary OM journals based on publication scores and social network measures of centrality. The research is also the first of its kind to identify and rank the top authors and institutions within specific areas of SCM research and to identify future research opportunities relating to aspects of collaboration and networking in research endeavors.

Seasonal Fish Assemblage Structure Using Environmental DNA in the Yangtze Estuary and Its Adjacent Waters

The fisheries resources of the Yangtze Estuary and its adjacent waters have undergone dramatic declines as a consequence of environmental changes and human activities, with traditional ecological investigations demonstrating progressive decreases in species diversity and annual numbers in the fisheries resource. Environmental DNA (eDNA) technology has been demonstrated as an effective tool by many studies for detecting fish species, monitoring fish biodiversity and indicate the fish abundance. In the present study, we chose the Yangtze Estuary and its adjacent waters as a primary research area to investigate fish assemblage structure using eDNA technology. A total of 50 eDNA samples were collected in the estuary in 2018. The results showed that 41 operational taxonomic units were identified from three seasons, with 18, 12 and 33 fish species associated specifically with spring, summer and autumn, respectively. The fish assemblage differed significantly among seasons. Canonical correspondence analysis showed that water temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen were the main environmental factors affecting structure of the seasonal assemblages. Results of the present study indicate that eDNA technology can be an effective tool not only for fisheries monitoring, but might also importantly assist marine resources conservation, sustainable exploitation of fisheries, the aquatic products processing industry, eco-friendly development, and socioeconomic stability.

Vitamin D, Thyroid Autoimmunity and Cancer: An Interplay of Different Factors.

Background and Aims:In spite of large volume of data linking Vitamin D with cardiovascular morbidity, autoimmunity, cancer, and virtually every organ system, Vitamin D and thyroid is a lesser-known aspect of Vitamin D in clinical practice. This article intends to highlight the current literature on the impact of Vitamin D status and supplementation on thyroid autoimmunity and cancer.Methods:References for this review were identified through searches of PubMed for articles published to from 1950 to August 2019 using the terms “thyroid” [MeSH Terms] AND “Vitamin D” [MeSH Terms] OR “thyroid” [All Fields] AND “Vitamin D” [All Fields].Results:Significant inverse correlation was documented between anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPOAb) and serum 25-hydroxy-Vitamin D (25OHD). TPOAb positivity is more prevalent in Vitamin D deficient individuals. A large volume of medical literature is available from observational studies linking Vitamin D with thyroid autoimmunity. Data from interventional studies documenting beneficial effects of Vitamin D on thyroid autoimmunity is also available, but lesser than that from observational studies. Short-term high dose oral Vitamin D supplementation reduces TPOAb titers. Certain Vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphism have been linked to increased occurrence of autoimmune thyroid disorders (AITD). Vitamin D deficiency, decreased circulating calcitriol has been linked to increased thyroid cancer. Certain VDR gene polymorphisms have been linked with increased as well as decreased occurrence of thyroid cancer. Data is scant on use of Vitamin D and its analogues for treating thyroid cancer.Conclusion:In spite of large volume of medical literature from observational studies linking Vitamin D with thyroid autoimmunity and cancer, meaningful concrete clinical data on impact of Vitamin D supplementation on hard clinical end points in these disorders is lacking, and should be the primary area of research in the next decade.

Oil and gas reservoirs of weathering crusts and Paleozoic basement in the southeast of Western Siberia (forecasting of hard-to-recover reserves)

The study and development of hard-to-recover reserves in the pre-Jurassic petroleum of Western Siberia is a new focus for development of the resource base and oil production in Russia, identified the necessity of assessing a special strategy, a conceptual scheme for forecasting and exploration. The aim of the study is to identify and assess the primary research areas of hydrocarbon reservoirs in pre-Jurassic basement by the example of underexplored areas of the Ust-Tym mega-depression and structures of the Nurol’ka mega-depression which are located on the well-developed oilfield infrastructure areas of Tomsk region. Object of study is the potential pre-Jurassic reservoirs of Permo-Triassic weathering crust and Paleozoic basement. The accumulations of weathering crust are associated with reservoirs formed on clay and siliceous, carbonate and acid volcanic rocks, and, under certain conditions, by ultrabasites. The reservoirs of bedrock are associated with secondary reservoirs formed by limestones, granites, rhyolites. The main oil source formation is the Lower-Jurassic Togur sediments. The study is carried out based on the concept of mainly vertical hydrocarbon migration. The research area is located in boundaries of the oil source formation. Thermal history reconstruction of oil source formation, cumulatively taking into account the temperatures of the localized source kitchen, is carried out by solving the direct and inverse problems of geothermy. The studies are based on a special technology that includes an integrated analysis of mapping results of the Togur oil source kitchen by the geotemperature criterion and predicting mapping of the weathering crust and the Paleozoic basement reservoirs according to the data of deep drilling, oil geological zoning and perspective areas ranking. In the territory of the Ust-Tym megadepression as the primary research area for the weathering crust reservoir the zone of the northeastern side of the megadepression has been selected. As the priority area for exploration of Paleozoic basement reservoirs the zone uniting the north-eastern slope of North-Parabel megamonocline and the adjacent southern part of Pyzhinsk mesodepression has been selected. As the perspective research area for the weathering crust reservoir the land of the south beads of Kulan-Igay and Tamrad basins and its adjacent areas for the territory of Nurol’ka megadepression have been identified. As the priority areas for research and development of Paleozoic basement reservoirs the south beads of Kulan-Igay basin and adjacent zone of Tamrad basin have been identified, as well as the lands of the south-eastern beads of Nurol’ka megadepression and the adjacent lands of Chuzik-Chizhap mesosaddle. The reliability of the forecast for perspective areas of the pre-Jurassic petroleum play is identified by comparison with the results of well testing and is about 70—80 %. It argues the previously formulated resource-efficient strategy and technology of exploration for oil deposits in the pre-Jurassic basement of Western Siberia.

Charting leadership in SCM research from Asia and Europe

With supply chain management (SCM) being an important subject area that has attracted many scholars to conduct research on the subject and authors from Asia and Europe accounting for an increasing percentage of published papers, we examine publications in a set of leading journals in the field and identify where leadership in SCM research from Asia and Europe is coming from. In doing so, we also address a number of questions relating to leadership in SCM research from Asia and Europe. We shed light on who the leading authors in SCM research from Asia and Europe are not only based on the number of papers and quality of the outlets that they appear in, but also by using network-based measures of centrality. We identify the primary areas of SCM research of each of the leading authors and present their publication profiles. Similarly, we identify and rank the leading institutions of SCM research from Asia and Europe based on the number and quality of publications as well as network measures of centrality. By revealing leading scholars and institutions in SCM research in Asia and Europe, we provide professional peers, researchers, and students with information helpful in gauging potential collaboration and education opportunities in these regions. We also offer insights into the nature of the networks of the most prolific SCM research authors, institutions, and countries of Asia and Europe, examine geographic inclinations in research, identify institutions that seem to be emerging in SCM research, and discuss future opportunities.

Ionizing radiation‐induced acoustics for radiotherapy and diagnostic radiology applications

Acoustic waves are induced via the thermoacoustic effect in objects exposed to a pulsed beam of ionizing radiation. This phenomenon has interesting potential applications in both radiotherapy dosimetry and treatment guidance as well as low-dose radiological imaging. After initial work in the field in the 1980s and early 1990s, little research was done until 2013 when interest was rejuvenated, spurred on by technological advances in ultrasound transducers and the increasing complexity of radiotherapy delivery systems. Since then, many studies have been conducted and published applying ionizing radiation-induced acoustic principles into three primary research areas: Linear accelerator photon beam dosimetry, proton therapy range verification, and radiological imaging. This review article introduces the theoretical background behind ionizing radiation-induced acoustic waves, summarizes recent advances in the field, and provides an outlook on how the detection of ionizing radiation-induced acoustic waves can be used for relative and invivo dosimetry in photon therapy, localization of the Bragg peak in proton therapy, and as a low-dose medical imaging modality. Future prospects and challenges for the clinical implementation of these techniques are discussed.

Post-Earnings-Announcement Drift Anomaly in India: A Test of Market Efficiency

Anomalies are deviations from Efficient Market Hypothesis (EMH), one of the primary areas of research in the field of financial economics. The paper aims to examine the presence of one such deviation—the post-earnings-announcement-drift (PEAD) anomaly—in the Indian stock market over the period 2002 to 2017. Examining the PEAD anomaly appears to be an under-researched area for India, one of the fastest growing major economies of the world. Cross-sectional Fama and MacBeth [1] regression and paired t-test are the tools employed for the analysis. The results exhibit statistically significant PEAD and the findings are robust to sub-period analysis. The anomaly persists even after accounting for other variables—beta, market capitalization, price-to-book ratio (P/B ratio), illiquidity and idiosyncratic volatility. While regulators can employ the findings as input to meet their aim of achieving market efficiency, traders and investors can design their strategies to exploit the anomalous behavior.

Effect of NiCr on dry sliding wear of high carbon iron-molybdenum composite plasma spray coating

The primary area of research under consideration is the wear behaviour of the cylinder liner and piston ring. Since coating can increase hardenability, toughness and wear resistance of the substrate (piston ring), the thermal spray techniques were used for piston ring coatings. In this study, a powder mixture of the iron-molybdenum composite, NiCr, CrC, and molybdenum was deposited by atmospheric plasma spray method on cast iron substrate with increasing NiCr composition from 10 to 50 wt.% in the interval of ten. With the increase of NiCr percentage, the coefficient of friction (CoF) and specific wear rate of the coating decreases. This reduction was due to excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation, corrosion and good wear resistance of NiCr. The cylinder liner (cast iron) was used as the counter body for the test. The pin-on-disk test was used to investigate the tribological property of piston ring coatings.

Integrating Ecological and Evolutionary Context in the Study of Maternal Stress.

Maternal stress can prenatally influence offspring phenotypes and there are an increasing number of ecological studies that are bringing to bear biomedical findings to natural systems. This is resulting in a shift from the perspective that maternal stress is unanimously costly, to one in which maternal stress may be beneficial to offspring. However, this adaptive perspective is in its infancy with much progress to still be made in understanding the role of maternal stress in natural systems. Our aim is to emphasize the importance of the ecological and evolutionary context within which adaptive hypotheses of maternal stress can be evaluated. We present five primary research areas where we think future research can make substantial progress: (1) understanding maternal and offspring control mechanisms that modulate exposure between maternal stress and subsequent offspring phenotype response; (2) understanding the dynamic nature of the interaction between mothers and their environment; (3) integrating offspring phenotypic responses and measuring both maternal and offspring fitness outcomes under real-life (either free-living or semi-natural) conditions; (4) empirically testing these fitness outcomes across relevant spatial and temporal environmental contexts (both pre- and post-natal environments); (5) examining the role of maternal stress effects in human-altered environments-i.e., do they limit or enhance fitness. To make progress, it is critical to understand the role of maternal stress in an ecological context and to do that, we must integrate across physiology, behavior, genetics, and evolution.

Force, Stress prediction in drilling of AISI 1045 steel using Finite Element Modelling

Machining simulation is a primary research area all around the world. Many researchers are attempting to understand the underlying principles of machining. Earlier research has started with orthogonal machining then slowing is now progressing into oblique machining. Even though extensive research has been carried out in the field of machining and its allied areas, still the process of understanding the nuances of the machining processes is underway. The research is happening on the theoretical and experimental front. Numerical simulation has helped the researchers in understanding the machining processes within a quick duration and it is to a certain extent reliable. Here the authors of the work have tried to outline the procedure and the method involved in Finite element simulation of the machining processes. In the present work, commercially available software is used for numerical simulation purposes. The machining purposes considered for the research work is drilling process.

Computationally efficient privacy preserving authentication and key distribution techniques for vehicular ad hoc networks

The incorporation of electronics by embedding the relevant sensors in the physical devices in home and office, vehicles of all types, buildings in the smart cities and in all possible spheres of life form a network of devices termed as internet of things (IoT). It is being realized that vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) which are responsible for the reliable and secure communication among vehicles is a primary area of research in IoT and hence ensuring security in this area is essential. Thus, this work introduces a novel approach to improve the existing authentication support to VANETs. In this proposed framework, first an anonymous authentication approach for preserving the privacy is proposed which not only performs the vehicle user’s anonymous authentication but preserves the message integrity of the transmitting messages as well. Although many anonymous authentication schemes have been proposed in VANETs until now, the existing schemes suffer from a high computation cost during the signature and certificate verification process which leads to delayed authentication. Consequently, the vehicles and roadside units (RSUs) cannot authenticate more number of vehicles per second in VANETs. Second, an efficient anonymous group key distribution protocol is proposed in this paper for securely distributing the group key to the group of vehicles in the communication range of an RSU. The RSUs can send location based information to the group of vehicles in a secure manner using this group key. Experimental analysis portrays that the results of this new privacy preserving anonymous authentication and key management schemes are promising and efficient with regard to signature verification cost and computational cost in comparison with the existing schemes.

Aplicação do método phytoscreening para determinação de hidrocarbonetos clorados em área tropical - Brasil – SP

Neste trabalho foram averiguadas a aplicabilidade e a eficácia do método phytoscreening na investigação e determinação de plumas de contaminação em uma área impactada por hidrocarbonetos clorados em ambiente tropical. Foram analisadas amostras de 106 árvores presentes em uma área contaminada localizada no município de Porto Feliz, SP, Brasil. Em laboratório, os troncos de árvore (tree cores) foram analisados utilizando-se um cromatógrafo gasoso acoplado a um espectrômetro de massas e amostrador headspace (HS-GC-MS). A partir desses dados foram confeccionados mapas da pluma de contaminação e da distribuição espacial dos diferentes contaminantes orgânicos encontrados – clorofórmio, trans-1,2-dicloroeteno; cis-1,2-dicloroeteno; tetracloreto de carbono; 1,2-dicloroetano; tricloroeteno; tetracloroeteno; 1,1,2-tricloroetano e 1,1,2,2-tetracloroetano. A aplicação de phytoscreening demonstrou ser um método rápido e de baixo custo para a detecção de áreas contaminadas por organoclorados em ambiente tropical; os resultados evidenciam sua aplicabilidade e eficácia na investigação preliminar de áreas impactadas por esse tipo de contaminante.
