The theme of research is topical in the present situation with management research tools at scientific institutions of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary science in Latvia. The object of the research are the management research tools of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary science at scientific institutions. The subject of the research is the comparative analysis of efficiency indicators of the involvement of academic staff and students in the formation of intellectual capital of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary science in Latvia. The objective of the research is to study efficiency indicators of academic staff and students in the formation of intellectual capital of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary science at scientific institutions in Latvia in the period from 2013 to 2018. The following tasks are set in order to reach the objective: to study the management research tools at scientific institutions; to identify the concept of efficiency indicators of the involvement of academic staff and students in the formation of intellectual capital of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary science; to calculate their efficiency indicators; and, to conduct comparative analysis of efficiency indicators of the involvement of academic staff and students in the formation of intellectual capital of agriculture, forestry, and veterinary science at scientific institutions in Latvia. Research methods used in the paper are as follow: content analysis, economic analysis, and economic experiment.

Potential profiling of self-management skills in older co-morbid patients

BackgroundUnder the general trend of global aging, geriatric comorbidity is increasingly common, which may have some impact on the quality of life of the older people. Self-management can effectively improve patient compliance, subjective initiative, and improve patient quality of life. However, the present situation of self-management in different old people is different. Therefore, this study classifies older co-morbid patients through potential profiling analysis, understands the category characteristics of self-management level of older co-morbid patients, and discusses the influencing factors of self-management level of different categories of older co-morbid patients, which can provide reference for personalized intervention programs for different comorbidity characteristics of elderly people in the future. MethodThrough a cross-sectional study, 616 cases of older co-morbid patients in three districts of Zhengzhou City, Henan Province, were selected as survey subjects by using the whole cluster sampling method. The General Information Questionnaire, Chronic Disease Self-Management Scale, Health Literacy Scale, Electronic Health Literacy Scale, Collaborative Social Support Scale, and Health Empowerment Scale were used to conduct the survey.ResultsThe result of LPA shows that the self-management characteristics of older co-morbid patients should be classified into 3 categories: good self-management (19.4%), medium self-management(27.9%), and low self-management (52.7%). The results of multivariate logistic regression analyses show that literacy, religiosity, health literacy, e-health literacy, appreciative social support, and health empowerment are influential factors for self-management among older co-morbid patients (p < 0.05).ConclusionThere is obvious heterogeneity in the self-management level of older co-morbid patients. It is recommended that healthcare professionals give targeted interventions for their weaknesses according to the self-management characteristics of different categories of patients in order to enhance the self-management level of this population and improve their quality of life.

This report is based on the book "Reindeer Husbandry and Global Environmental Change - pastoralism in Fennoscandia". The book, which was published in 2022, brings together previous and new research compiled within a Nordic collaboration project, ReiGN (Reindeer husbandry in a Globalizing North), funded by NordForsk during the years 2016 – 2021. Grants from NordForsk also funded this report. The report, published in Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish and North Sámi, summarizes some of the main results from the book. In nine chapters it describes how reindeer herding is affected by climate change, the continuous loss of reindeer grazing land and other external factors that together represent large challenges for reindeer, reindeer herders and the reindeer herding community as a whole. The report contains perspectives from many different research areas. Each chapter in the report has one or more references and links to chapters in the above mentioned book, which is freely available online (https://doi.org/10.4324/9781003118565). The chapters in the report cover a range of different topics, like present and historical reindeer herding (Chapter 1), the genetic background of the semi-domesticated reindeer (Chapter 2), how reindeer ranges are used and how they are affected by climate change and expanding industrial development (Chapter 3), possibilities for adaptation to a warmer climate (Chapter 4), impact of large predators (Chapter 5), external and internal governance (Chapter 6), reindeer herding as subsistence (Chapter 7), the role of supplementary feeding (Chapter 8), and reindeer health and diseases in a climate perspective (Chapter 9). The report ends with some reflections over the present situation and future perspectives for reindeer herding. The report is aimed at herders and managers, as well as other land users, authorities and policymakers who deal with natural resource management, climate and environmental issues or other matters related to reindeer herding and the use of land and water within the reindeer herding area. Rangifer Report No 21 is the North Sámi version of the report. Reports in Swedish and Norwegian have already been published as Rangifer Report No 16 and No 17, respectively. A Finnish version is published as a following number of Rangifer Report.

Research on the Embodiment of Educational Equity in Inclusive Education Present Situation

The promotion of equity in education has an essential positive effect on reducing social inequalities and social instability. States and international organizations are also committed to promoting global equity in education by reforming education systems and improving the quality and inclusiveness of education. Although there are still many difficulties in universalizing educational equity, educational equity for persons with disabilities is receiving growing attention and discussion in the current social context. In particular, the concept of "inclusive education" under the new definition offers children with disabilities the opportunity to leave special schools and study in general schools alongside normal students. Inclusive education is the most effective way to eliminate discrimination, create a welcoming community, build an inclusive society and realize education for all. Therefore, this study explores the contribution of inclusive education to educational equity through qualitative analysis and literature review, and analyzes the approaches to guaranteeing the right of persons with disabilities to educational equity and the development trend in the light of the current popularization of inclusive education.

Evolution and Prospects of Freshwater Fish Species and Aquaculture in Colombia: A Historical Perspective

Since the 1970s Colombia has been aware of the importance of aquaculture and inland fisheries in the future of its economy due to the constant increase of a population that is increasingly in need of protein of animal origin. In 1972, a joint project between the Government of Colombia and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was approved and aimed at studying inland fishing and developing aquaculture in the country. The work of the project is described, as are the fish culture and fisheries research activities starting with the situation in the 1970s but comparing it with recent findings. A list of the main capture and culture fish species is given. Colombian fishing production has had great variations, but first inland water fishing was more important than marine. For instance, in 1972 total fish catch was 104,390 tons and 79% of that originated from inland waters. After the continental fisheries went down, the marine fisheries accounted in 2019 already 78 per cent of the total catch of the country. Mean standing fish crop estimates in 1975‒76 from the bay, open water and vegetation habitats in four floodplain lakes were 118, 12 and 251 kg/ha indicating clearly that the fish productivity on the Magdalena floodplain was relatively low. The aquaculture sector has been growing rapidly, reflecting global trends, and producing more than capture fisheries. Aquaculture produced 88,000 tons in 2013, which was a three-fold increase from the mid-1990s. Again twofold increase took place before 2020 when the production was almost 180,000 tons. Future development prospects of inland fisheries and aquaculture are discussed and a mention is made of the present situation of ornamental fish cultivation and trade in Colombia.

Service Readiness of Primary Health Care Facilities for Non-Communicable Diseases Management.

NCDs prevalence and associated risk factors impacts on the burden of disease and premature mortality. Effective NCD service delivery requires well equipped facilities with trained providers and resources. Evaluating readiness and its determinant is crucial for enhancing NCD management. The study examines readiness in primary health care facilities for managing non-communicable disease in Syangja district. A cross-sectional research was conducted among 117 Primary health care facility health workers in Nepal's Syangja District. The data was collected through face-to-face interviews using modified WHO-SARA tool. The chi-square test was used to evaluate the relationship between NCD readiness and its associated factors and multivariable logistic regression was utilized to determine the strength of the correlation. Only 6 percent of the healthcare facilities in Syangja district had developed the system for readiness against non-communicable diseases. The mean percentage scores for service-specific domains ranged from 40% to 58%, indicating variations in readiness across different domains mainly contributed by basic amenities and training. Approximately 80.3% of health facilities received support from the local government, while equipment or commodities support was provided to the third- quarter of the health facilities. Total service readiness was very low in the diagnostic and medicine facilities of Syangja. It demonstrates that there is a discrepancy between the present situation of the incremental trend of NCDs and the related level of service preparedness in primary health care settings. The development of the service readiness mechanism is imperative considering the increasingprevalence of non-communicable diseases in Syangja.

Property registration of the ownership right to the agricultural land

The paper highlights the existing legal, doctrinal, and practical state in Georgia and other countries abroad in the context of registration of ownership rights to agricultural plots by legitimate owners. Hence, the paper is a synthesis of theory and practice dealing with the social and state significance of agricultural land and voices several problems that arise in the process of recognizing the right to ownership of agricultural land plots legally owned by individuals or legal entities. In addition, it also emphasizes the reasons that lead to these problems both at the legislative and doctrinal levels. This article reviews the approach of Georgian law in terms of obtaining rights to agricultural land, especially the mechanisms of registration of property rights by legitimate owners. Historical, and comparative legal research methods used in the paper, cover the past, present, and future situation in terms of legal development of the agricultural field.

Origin of spring water chemistry and its appropriateness for drinking requirements in a semi-arid environment (Ain Larbi, Algeria)

ABSTRACT A comparative assessment of water quality for drinking purposes was conducted in Ain Larbi area using the Weighted Arithmetic Water Quality Index (WA-WQI). The origin of minerals is assessed by a saturation index approach and the Gibbs diagram. Also, mineral correlation process and ion exchange mechanism are detected by the Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The PCA results indicate that the groundwater quality in the Ain Larbi study area primarily results from weathering and geochemical alteration of rock. The saturation index and Gibbs diagram support these findings. The WA-WQI was calculated for each station based on physicochemical parameters. During the wet season, three out of five classes of WQI were observed in the present study, including excellent (25%), good (70%), and poor (5%). In the dry season, the classes excellent (25%), good (30%), and poor (45%) were represented. The present situation demonstrates how hydrogeological regimes and water–rock interactions affect groundwater ion concentrations. Our results contribute to identifying drinking water requirements in the Ain Larbi region, promoting sustainable water management.

Research on the Development Path of Rural Industry Revitalization by Non-Legacy of Folklore: Taking Chaoshan Meeting of p county in Linfen City as an Example

with the development of digital economy, the protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage has become an important issue to be solved. As an important part of Chinese traditional culture, non-heritage of folk-custom carries rich historical and cultural connotation and national spirit. However, with the changes of the times and the widening gap between urban and rural development, many non-heritage projects of folk-custom are facing the crisis of loss. As a folk celebration with profound historical and cultural background, Chaoshan meeting in p county of Linfen City, Shanxi province carries rich local cultural connotation. This paper aims to analyze the present situation of Chaoshan society in Linfen city, Shanxi Province, and discuss the development dilemma of micro-, middle-and macro-levels, and put forward a targeted development path to promote the revitalization of rural industries and inheritance of non-heritage protection work in-depth development.

Sensitivity to changes in oil prices, tax returns and the cross-section of stock returns: The present situation for net-oil exporting economies

This study investigates the sensitivity of stock returns to changes in oil prices and tax returns in net-oil exporting economies, focusing on the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries from March 30, 2003 to March 30, 2022. The problem statement addresses the challenge of understanding the interplay between oil price fluctuations, tax policies, and stock market dynamics in these economies, which are heavily reliant on oil revenues. The aim of the study is to provide insights into how variations in oil prices and tax returns impact the cross-section of stock returns in the GCC region. The objectives include analyzing the econometric relationships between oil prices, tax policies, and stock market performance using an appropriate econometric model. The results reveal a significant sensitivity of stock returns to changes in oil prices and tax returns in the GCC countries during the specified period. The econometric model employed indicates strong correlations between fluctuations in oil prices, tax policies, and stock market movements, highlighting the intricate connections between these variables. Moreover, the study identifies specific sectors within the stock market that are particularly sensitive to oil price changes and tax policy adjustments. Policymakers in the GCC countries can use these insights to design more effective fiscal and economic policies aimed at enhancing market stability and investor confidence amidst dynamic oil market conditions.

Iron deficiency among Japanese whole-blood donors measured by serum ferritin.

A more restrictive blood donation criterion has been applied in Japan, with a maximum volume of whole blood (WB) donation of 400 mL, allowing twice a year for female donors and thrice a year for male donors. However, iron deficiency was as high as 20.5% among female donors prior to donation, increasing to 37.7% after blood donation. More than 20 years have passed since then, so we set out to investigate the present situation. A total of 2659 (male/female: 1496/1163) donors of 400 mL WB who gave informed consent to join the study were enrolled. Serum ferritin (sFer) of first-time/reactivated (FT/RA) donors were compared with those of repeat donors, according to gender and age; those who returned for subsequent donations during the study period were also followed up. About one-third of FT/RA female donors had iron deficiency, possibly reflecting its high incidence among the general population. Interestingly, although sFer levels were low among pre-menopausal FT/RA female donors, these values were not much different in repeat donors, whereas significant differences were observed between FT/RA and repeat donors among post-menopausal females and in most age groups among males. As expected, donors with a normal initial sFer (≥26 ng/mL) recovered faster than those with a low initial sFer. Female donors, especially, have iron deficiency even before donation, and the rate increased compared to what was found previously. Measures to prevent iron deficiency of blood donors is required, and studies are going on in Japan.

Current challenges and forecasts in maize grain production and consumption in Mexico

Objective: to analyze production and consumption of maize grain in Mexico, with time series and recurrent neural networks, to describe the present and future situation of maize cultivation. Design/ Methodology/ Approach: key variables were analyzed in graphs and maps created in Excel® and SCImago Graphica®, respectively. Forecasts for the year 2050 were obtained in Python© with Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) of the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) type, and were compared with the years 1980 and 2020. Results: the largest production of white and yellow maize grain was obtained by the United States and China. Mexico ranks seventh, is not competitive in exports, and relies on imports of yellow maize grain from the United States to supply demand. The Mexican states that implemented technology packages showed higher yields and production. By 2050, maize grain production in Mexico will increase due to the technological advances of Agriculture 5.0 Although it would not be enough to supply the apparent consumption of the growing population, for this reason imports will increase. Limitations/ Implications of the study: analysis of the possible future, created from time series through RNN-LSTM, helps to guide decision-making in the present. Findings/ Conclusions: new agricultural public policies are needed to guide, in the long term, the challenges of maize grain production and consumption in Mexico to guarantee food sovereignty.

Thus far, critical study has focused on the Tarot session as Varda’s exposition of background, plot and tropes; however, scholars have yet to analyse the divination session as a prompt for Cléo’s emerging will and effort in the world. This article proposes the Tarot de Marseille’s maison dieu/Tower card as a key instigator to ‘self-discovery and self-exploration’. What follows first analyses the beginning scene in which the Tower card is pulled, then exposes the card’s impact throughout the film.

Ftdho Zfnet: Block chain based Fractional Tasmanian Devil Harris optimization enabled deep learning using attack detection and mitigation

Block chain technology is regarded for enhancing the characteristics of security because of decentralized design, safe distributed storage, and privacy. However, in recent times the present situation of block chain technology has experienced some crisis that may delay the quick acceptance and utilization in real-time applications. To conquer this subdues, a blockchain based system for attack detection and mitigation with Deep Learning (DL) named Fractional Tasmanian Devil Harris Optimization_Zeiler and Fergus network (FTDHO_ZFNet) is introduced. In this investigation, the entities utilized are owner, block chain, server, trusted authority and user. Here, authentication phase is done by means of Ethereum block chain by Key Exchange module and privacy preserved data sharing and communication is also done. Then, recorded log file creation is executed by the below mentioned stages. At first, a log file is generated with the basis of communication to record the events. After wards, the features are extracted by BoT-IoT database. Then, feature fusion is done by overlap coefficient utilizing Deep Q-Network (DQN). Moreover, data augmentation (DA) is doneusing bootstrapping method. At last, attack detection is observed by ZFNet tuned by FTDHO. Here, FTDHO is unified by Fractional Tasmanian Devil Optimization (FTDO) and Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO). Additionally, FTDO is integrated by Fractional Calculus (FC) concept and Tasmanian devil optimization (TDO). Furthermore, attack mitigation is performed. The performance measures applied for FTDHO_ZFNet are accuracy, and True Negative rate (TNR), observed supreme values with 92.9%, 93.8% and 92.9%.

Safeguarding Heritage: Preserving Traditional Knowledge in Global Patent Law

The present study investigates the defensive safeguarding of traditional knowledge within the framework of international patent law. The chosen research methodology is evaluative, employing secondary data sources. The primary emphasis of this study is on primary and secondary legal materials. The process of data analysis involves the utilisation of qualitative juridical analysis techniques. The findings suggest that traditional knowledge has distinct attributes intricately linked to traditional communal elements and spans diverse areas of human existence. The safeguarding of traditional knowledge is paramount to uphold principles of fairness, environmental preservation, cultural heritage, prevention of misappropriation, and the advancement of sustainable utilisation. In international patent law, there is a notable incongruity between traditional knowledge and patent systems that prioritise human ingenuity and originality. The efficacy of patent systems in protecting traditional information is limited by the inherent characteristics of traditional knowledge, which is often collective and transmitted orally. The safeguarding of traditional knowledge necessitates a harmonious integration of both legal and practical dimensions. These endeavours encompass the acknowledgement of pre-existing knowledge and inventions, the creation of organisations to oversee safeguarding, and the implementation of pragmatic strategies to guarantee availability and equitable utilisation. The ability to patent novel discoveries derived from traditional knowledge is possible; nevertheless, conflicts often occur due to disparities between patent regimes and the inherent characteristics of traditional knowledge. In the present situation, it is imperative to adopt a comprehensive and equitable strategy to safeguard traditional knowledge’s long-term viability within the intellectual property framework.

Food life history and cold storage in Greater Beringia. Part I: Preliminary interdisciplinary investigation

Cold storage of food using a natural cold environment (i.e., frozen ground, ice, snow, and freezing air) is globally found to be compatible with the local environment, and within the cultural traditions of communities. Our interdisciplinary project, focusing on four areas from Beringia (Alaska and easternmost Siberia) to the middle latitudes (Mongolia and Japan) of the northern hemisphere, aims to 1) document the variations and commonalities in the history, present situations, and future concerns of cold storage facilities, 2) review the roles and functionalities of the practice through the “Food Life History” concept, a new framework to address local food issues in a global context on the history of interactions between humanity and the environment, and 3) co-produce knowledge and strategies to facilitate cold storage practices for local adaptation to environmental and economic challenges. In this preliminary study conducted from 2021 to 2023, we initiated communication with local leaders and knowledge-bearers, examined current conditions, and installed temperature monitors in cold storage structures where available. The results illustrate the presence of practices of various types, specifications, and conditions, commonly challenged by environmental changes both natural (e.g., permafrost thawing and ground wetting) and social (e.g., modern technologies, education, and economy).
