Abstract A combination of silica sulfuric acid (SSA) and NaNO 2 in the presence of wet-SiO 2 were used as an effective oxidizing agent for the oxidation of 1,2-dihydroquinolines to their corresponding quinoline derivatives in dichloromethane at room temperature with excellent yields.

Molybdatophosphoric Acid/NaNO2as an Efficient Procedure for the Chemoselective N-Nitrosation of Secondary Amines

The reactions were performed at room temperature or 75-80 ºC with high to excellent yields of the corresponding products. The chemoselective reduction of aldehydes over ketones was achieved successfully with this reducing system.
