The research on internal environmental analysis was conducted at PT. Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero), a public company that focuses on plantation business in Medan, Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the internal environment in achieving goals and developing company strategies. This research employed a qualitative approach. The conclusion of this study is that the company has not been able to manage its strengths to achieve its goals, but has been successful in managing its human resources, resulting in increased business revenue.

Pelatihan Kewirausahaan Perkebunan Durian Di Desa Marisi Dengan Pendekatan Social Entrepreneurship Theory

Community service through entrepreneurship training assistance and business development analysis of durian plantations is a program that aims to improve the abilities and skills of farmers and entrepreneurs in the field of durian plantation business. This program is carried out through structured and sustainable training and mentoring activities and is carried out with a participatory and community-based approach. In this program, participants are provided with training and mentoring in various aspects of the durian plantation business, such as financial management, production management, marketing, and business development. Through this program, participants are expected to develop their durian plantation business better and more effectively, so as to increase the productivity and quality of durian produced, as well as open wider market opportunities. The program is also expected to improve the welfare of local farmers and entrepreneurs and contribute to the regional economy. The results of the program evaluation showed that this durian business development analysis and training mentoring program had a positive impact on the participants. The participants claimed to be more confident in managing their businesses, have better knowledge and skills in business management, and are able to develop wider networks and partnerships. In the long run, it is hoped that this program can help increase the business potential of durian plantations in Indonesia

Plantation industries have now become a crucial factor in economic growth, but the development of plantation business often overlooks the interests of the csommunity and the environment. This study aims to explore strategies for balancing land use and tenure policies between the interests of plantation companies and the public. The research approach used in this study is the socio-legal research approach, which delves into the societal perspective of legal issues. This interdisciplinary study highlights the importance of explaining legal issues in a more meaningful theoretical manner that is accessible to citizens. The study employs the Pancasila perspective, which is the founding philosophy of Indonesia, as a guiding principle to ensure a balance and justice mechanism for land tenure and use. This study emphasizes the importance of the substantive application of the law in protecting the interests of both corporations and the wider community. The concept of plasma plantations, where investors invest their capital for business interests in the large plantation sector, can serve as a strategic approach to achieving a balanced land tenure and use mechanism. This study offers valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders tasked with establishing land tenure and use policies for plantation sector. By considering the interests of both corporations and the public, policymakers can ensure sustainable economic growth, protect the environment, and uphold the rights of citizens through a balanced land tenure and use mechanism.

Palm oil is one of the leading agricultural sectors which has an important role in Indonesia. In addition to being able to absorb new workers, the oil palm plantation business can also contribute to state revenues from crude palm oil (CPO) export levies, the demand for which is increasing every year. However, in recent years the level of productivity of oil palm plantations has decreased. This is due to the age of the plants that are getting older and not using superior and certified seeds at the start of planting. With this low level of productivity, it is necessary to carry out rejuvenation of oil palm plants. The target of this rejuvenation program is to be able to use both superior and certified seeds in order to increase plant productivity. This research uses normative juridical research methods, namely research conducted by researching and analyzing literature or secondary data only. The approach method is descriptive and qualitative research methods. The results showed that the government played an active role in implementing the oil palm rejuvenation program. This is evident from the many regulations made by the government or other stakeholders to support the smooth running of this program. In addition, as an effort to provide support in increasing palm oil productivity, especially in preparing funds for rejuvenation programs, the government has established the Oil Palm Plantation Fund (DPKS).

Managing ‘Old Mammy’, Making ‘Mother Wit’: Older Enslaved Women, Efficiency, and Survival on the Plantation

ABSTRACT This article analyzes the values of older enslaved women on cotton and sugar plantations in the antebellum lower Mississippi Valley. Planters derived efficiency value from aged enslaved women’s medical knowledge, domestic skills, and care-taking skills, believing that these qualities could be used to create maximally productive workforces. This meaning that planters and overseers placed on some older women was a perversion of value these women often held within enslaved communities. Enslaved people valued medical knowledge and a specific kind of social tact known as ‘Mother Wit’ because they were crucial tools for surviving slavery and resisting its degrading effects. The article utilizes plantation business records, agricultural trade publications, interviews with formerly enslaved people, and a composite and speculative methodology akin to Marisa J. Fuentes’ approach to ‘archival fragments’. It builds on the work of historians of enslaved aging as well as scholarship in the history of plantation medicine and the history of capitalism and slavery. Ultimately, this research demonstrates that there were complex understandings of aging on the plantation to both enslavers and the enslaved.

Since the authority to grant oil palm plantation business permits was handed over to the Regency/City Government, the area of plantation business land in the Regency/City area has increased. Rokan Hulu Regency has the potential for large enough land for the development of oil palm plantations, but on the other hand, oil palm plantation business activities in Rokan Hulu Regency also have negative impacts, namely the occurrence of various conflicts between local communities and plantation companies both regarding community land and development of plantations for the community, conflicts over land between oil palm plantation companies. In the last 5 years, there have been conflicts between communities. The community demanded that the management of the Kopsa Bunda cooperative bring the community together with PT PIS II and the Rokan Hulu cooperative service. However, after a time the management of the Kopsa Bunda Cooperative instead carried out a credit agreement with Bank Mandiri Syariah and PT PIS II, the people of Rantau Binuang Sakti sued PT PIS II. The results of the research conducted are the cooperation agreement for the development of oil palm plantations between the Bunga Idaman Oil Palm Agricultural Cooperative and PT. Perdana Inti Sawit Perkasa in Desa RBS Kec. District fullness Rohul in Case No: 190/PDT.G/2021/PN.PBR was declared void. The form of settlement for the cancellation of the agreement is through settlement by bringing this case to court and the decision to cancel this agreement is decided by the Judge in court because it is through the Court that has the right and proves that something can be canceled.

Strict Liability of the Corporation Cause the Fires of Plantation Land Pose A Serious Threat

A corporation is a legal entity that bears legal rights and obligations. In carrying out oil palm plantation business activities, corporations are obliged by law to implement Good Corporate Governance (GCG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) which includes the Triple P Bottom Line in order to realize sustainable development. In relation to the legal obligation to implement GCG and CSR, in carrying out it’s business activities the corporation is prohibited from clearing or cultivating plantation land by burning. Plantation land fires can cause serious threats that cause enviromentall losses, especially if they occur during the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid 19) as it’s today. This paper will discuss on the concept strict liability of corporate because plantation fires cause serious threats. This research is a normative legal research which used juridical normative approach method used to analyze various laws and regulations related to the concept strict liability of the corporation cause the fires of plantation land pose a serious threats. As conclusion, the concept strict liability of the corporation cause the fires of plantation land pose a serious threats include 13 legal provisions, which still have 4 weaknesses. With the existence of these 4 weaknesses, coupled with the existence of the principle of freedom of judges, it’s emphasized that the government hasn’t seriously implemented strict liability for corporation because plantation fires pose a serious threat.

The Urgency of Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Certification for Oil Palm Plantation Companies in the State's Economic Growth

The government is working on Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Plantations by issuing various regulations, both through the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 44 of 2020 concerning the Certification System for Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil Plantations, as well as through the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture Number 38 of 2020 concerning Implementation of Plantation Certification Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil so that the oil palm plantation business obtains results that are economically feasible, socio-culturally feasible and environmentally friendly and increase the competitiveness of industrial palm oil products for the international market. The study method is normative juridical. In this study, an approach is used by identifying research objects and a statute approach. Based on the results of the study, the Government of Indonesia continues to make efforts for oil palm plantation companies to carry out ISPO certification. The government also issued various regulations to accelerate ISPO certification. It is suggested to the government continue to make efforts and be serious about accelerating ISPO certification by implementing various regulations that have been issued, including the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 18 of 2021 concerning the Facilitation of Development of Community Gardens in Surroundings, in addition to issuing the Regulation of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 03 of the Year 2022 concerning Development of Human Resources, Research, and Development, Rejuvenation, as well as Facilities and Infrastructure for Oil Palm Plantations and several regions a Team for the Acceleration and Supervision of ISPO certification has been formed so that it has an impact on the country's economic growth.

ANALISIS BUSINESS MODEL CANVAS MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN SWOT PADA PERUSAHAAN PERKEBUNAN KELAPA SAWIT SG DI KABUPATEN SINTANG PROVINSI KALIMANTAN BARAT

Indonesia is one of the largest CPO (Crude Palm Oil) producing countries in the world. In addition to producing CPO, oil palm fruit is also used as raw material for food and non-food production, alternative fuels, biodiesel development, and many others. SG's oil palm plantation, which is located in West Kalimantan, Sintang Regency, Kelam Permai District, is a company engaged in palm oil processing that was founded in 2008. In order to improve the quality of production, it is necessary to evaluate and analyze its business. So, the purpose of this study is to analyze the business model canvas using the SWOT method on the SG oil palm plantation company. The research method uses descriptive quantitative methods. The results showed that with a SWOT analysis approach, the SG oil palm company took advantage of the existing opportunities, namely the demand for fresh fruit bunches continued to increase in the market and government policies that supported the oil palm plantation business. SG's oil palm plantations must maintain the quality of fresh fruit bunches that will be sold to palm oil mills and increase the number of fresh fruit bunches harvested in order to remain competitive in the market. While the strategy for minimizing weaknesses is to improve good plantation maintenance techniques. As for the strategy, while maintaining good relations with partners, namely SG's oil palm plantations, the strategy for minimizing weaknesses and avoiding threats is to always cooperate with the Sintang Regency Government, West Kalimantan Province.

The Effects of Conflict and Palm Oil Investment Between Investors and Communities in Indonesia

The resolution of customary land conflicts often does not bring results. The protracted conflict inflicted losses on both sides. The community cannot benefit from the land that is their customary right because it is under the control of the Oil Palm Plantation Company (PPKS), while PPKS cannot operate comfortably because it must always face community demands. Until now, there are still conflicts in oil palm plantations that occur between indigenous peoples in Kampar Regency, Riau Province and PPKS. Based on these conditions, the legal issue that is also the main problem in this study is why there is a land conflict between oil palm plantation business investors and indigenous peoples and how the parties resolve it. The author found that the conflict occurred due to differences in views on customary land, the non-implementation of deliberations with indigenous peoples before investment was made, and government policies. Conflict resolution is carried out using different means according to the cause of the conflict.

Rubber Plantation Smallholders’ Management Model in Traditional Farming Practices in North Sumatera, Indonesia

The study is aimed at determining the role of various social-economic variables on the income of rubber plantation smallholders and help develop the plantations in North Sumatra, Indonesia. It uses descriptive methods to assess such variables. The results show the number of dependents, education, land status, seed sources, seed quality, planters, fertilization, farmer age, land area, and the age of rubber plants to determine their income by 45.2%. Also, the land status, area, and fertilization become the primary determinants of revenue in the smallholder's rubber plantation business, though their business is still managed traditionally. Traditional cultivation patterns prove that farmers try to improve land in order to boost revenues. High education does not support the increase of income when the approach to cultivation remains traditional. Efforts to encourage productivity can be made by optimizing the inputs to the land. The irrigation system that has been used so far is manual. Therefore, an automatic watering system was created using an Invertor-based Android application so that we can control watering and make it easier for tomato garden owners when they are out of town and then we can control it from Android and become more time efficient so that they can do other things. Competitiveness and Impact of Government Policies on the Development of People's Arabica Coffee Plantations Partnership Pattern in Solok Regency

This study aims to analyze the competitiveness of Arabica coffee commodities and analyze the impact of government policies on Arabica coffee commodities in Solok Regency. This research data analysis method uses the Policy Analysis Matrix (PAM). The results showed that the Arabica coffee plantation business in Solok Regency has competitiveness both in terms of competitive advantage and comparative advantage, where the value of the ratio of private costs and domestic cost ratios obtained is less than one, namely 0.48 and 0.41. For the impact of the Arabica coffee output policy, the private price of Arabica coffee is lower than the social price. The impact of the production input policy causes the private price of tradable input to be higher than the social price, and the impact of the input-output policy causes a decrease in the producer surplus, meaning that there is no economic incentive to increase Arabica coffee production. The suggestion from this research is expected that farmers can increase the productivity of Arabica coffee than the government is expected to expand the planting area and facilitate the provision of superior seeds. The government is also expected to stabilize the selling price of Arabica coffee at the farmer level.

Penerapan Metode SAW Untuk Pemberian Bonus Tahunan Berdasarkan Kinerja Karyawan

Perkebunan Nusantara III (PTPN III) Mambang Muda North Labuhan Batu Regency is one of 14 Plantation State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) engaged in plantation business, processing and marketing of plantation products. The Company's business activities include cultivating and processing oil palm and rubber plants. In the world, Sumatra is known as a producer of high-quality rubber, more than 38,000 hectares of PTPN III Mambang Muda rubber land in Labuhan Batu Utara Regency are endeavored to produce the best quality latex in the world. Behind the production of quality sap, reliable employees are needed in processing the sap, therefore PTPN III Mambang Muda must provide an annual bonus in addition to the basic salary to boost the performance and work productivity of its employees. However, the problem that occurred at PTPN III Mambang Muda was that it could not estimate the amount of the bonus correctly in giving the annual employee bonus because there were no criteria in staff who had priority to get a salary bonus including work performance, work discipline, and years of service. using conventional systems, the closeness of managers to employees often results in decisions that are different from what they should be, this causes the results of the decisions to be incorrect. The method used in decision support for granting annual bonuses to employees is the Simple Additive Weighting method because this method can select staff from various other alternatives who are entitled to receive bonuses from the company which results from this study are able to rank employees of PTPN III Mambang Muda Labuhan Batu Utara Regency. Employees who get bonuses are employees with the top 3 scores, namely: Rudiadi with a score of 0.788235, Zulkarnaen with a score of 0.776471, and Arif Sitorus with a score of 0.752941

Social Conflict Resolution Between Communities And Palm Oil Plantation Companies Through Local Labor Empowerment In West Aceh District

This research departs from the importance of resolving social conflicts between oil palm plantation companies through empowering local workers. For the sustainability of the oil palm plantation business and improving people's welfare. Article 74 paragraph (2) of Law Number 40 of 2007 concerning Limited Liability Companies (UUPT) and Article 2 paragraph (1) letter e of Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises. Although efforts have been made to resolve conflicts between communities and oil palm plantation companies in West Aceh, the conflict has not yet been resolved. This study is to analyze the barriers to resolving social conflicts between social conflicts between communities and oil palm plantation companies in West Aceh. This study uses a sociological juridical approach to look more deeply at the effectiveness of law in society. The research uses primary data and secondary data as well as field data in West Aceh. Secondary data by searching the literature related to the research focus. Data collection techniques were carried out through structured interviews with the parties involved in this study. The results of the study show that the inhibiting factor for conflict resolution between the community and oil palm plantation companies in West Aceh is that many productive age villagers do not work and the empowerment program is not empowered to be on target. This study produces a model for empowering local workers by utilizing the benefits through the CSR budget to provide job training to people of productive age aged 18-35 years.

Financial Feasibility of Arabica Coffee Plantation Business Through Partnership Pattern in Solok Regency, West Sumatra

Lembah Gumanti District has the largest area of Arabica coffee in Solok Regency, with a production of 2588.8 tons in 2019. Some problems farmers face in developing Arabika coffee farming include a lack of knowledge of cultivation techniques and low selling price of coffee (cherry) beans at the farm gate. The Solok Radjo Cooperative emerged to solve farmers' problems and is willing to help develop Arabica coffee plantations in partnership. This study aims to: (1) describe the implementation of partnerships in Arabica coffee farming and (2) analyze the feasibility of arabica coffee farming with partnership pattern. A survey method was used involving 40 sample farmers selected using simple random sampling. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively to determine the implementation and benefits obtained by the partnering parties (farmers and Solok Radjo Cooperative). Quantitative analysis is intended to determine the financial feasibility of developing Arabica coffee with a partnership pattern. In the partnership system, the Solok Radjo Cooperative provides farmers assistance to use superior seeds, socialization of Arabica coffee cultivation and harvesting techniques, and willingness to buy coffee beans (cherry) from farmers with higher prices than local collectors. The benefit obtained by the Solok Radjo Cooperative is the guaranteed supply of Arabica coffee production with better quality. Arabica coffee plantation business through this partnership is feasible with a Net BC ratio of 2.43.

Present Status and Future Prospects of Tea production and Research on Varietal Improvement in Bangladesh

Tea is one of the most important non-alcoholic beverage in the world and has been gaining further popularity as an important ‘health drink’ in view of its inferable medicinal value. In Bangladesh, commercially tea was cultivated since 1854 by establishing first tea garden Malnicherra Tea Estate in Sylhet. From 1947 to 2020, tea growing area, production and per hectare yield were increased 127.71%, 370.53% and 137.96% respectively. The major reasons behind the increasing tea productivity are extension of tea growing areas as well as cultivation of the tea clones (BT clones) released by Bangladesh Tea Research Institute (BTRI). Till now BTRI released 23 clones and 5 biclones, having average per hectare yield of 3461.67 kg. In the world, tea production, consumption and exportation have increased significantly. Unlike world condition, there is a negative relation between tea production and export in Bangladesh. From 1980 to 2020 the quantity of tea exports was decreased by 92.99%. This situation emphasizes the need for exploring alternative means by the tea industries of increasing profits from tea cultivation and tea export. As a result, researches on tea varietal improvement is needed for rapid economic growth and development of tea industry as well as to encourage tea plantation business to go ahead with more production to meet our own demand along with quality tea to flourish tea business in Bangladesh.

Farmer sales decisions and the sustainability of the coffee supply chain in Indonesia

The aims of this study: 1) analyze of Indonesian coffee farmers in determining the purpose of selling coffee; 2) analyze the factors that influence the decisions of Indonesian coffee farmers in determining coffee sales for improving the sustainability of the Indonesian coffee supply chain. This study uses data from the Indonesian Plantation Business Household Survey and multinomial logistic analysis methods. The number of respondents analyzed was 21 361 coffee farmers scattered throughout Indonesia. Coffee farmers in Indonesia sell to collectors, markets, village unit cooperatives, and plantation companies. The percentage of farmers coffee sales is through collectors due to distance, cost, ease of cash, and ease of transaction. In contrast, farmers who deal with the company will tend to sell coffee to the company because of the partnership. improvement of quality consistency and production continuity is carried out such as with Geographical Indications (GI) of production center areas. This can be done by various supply chain actors such as the Community Concerned for Geographical Indications (MPIG) in conducting counseling and mentoring for farmers. This can trigger the coffee supply chain in Indonesia.

Pelatihan Pemanfaatan Limbah Lidi Kelapa Sawit Menjadi Produk Kreatif di Rokan Hulu

The abundance of potential resources from the oil palm plantation business creates business opportunities from upstream to downstream. Palm oil stick waste has not been explored optimally for its utilization so far it is only burned or thrown away to rot. The aim of this Community Service activity is to provide counseling and training on the use of palm oil stick waste into creative products of environmentally friendly woven crafts to a group of women in Kecepatan District, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau to increase family income. The limited knowledge and skills of the partner groups in Kecepatan District, Rokan Hulu, Riau is a problem that limits the perception of business opportunities for partner groups in capturing potential business opportunities from palm oil stick waste. Basic counseling and training on making woven plate crafts from palm oil stick waste was carried out as a solution to the problems of the partner group. The result of this activity is an increase in the knowledge and skills of partner groups in utilizing palm oil stick waste into environmentally friendly creative products with high economic value so that they have the potential to increase family income.
