AbstractA Fabry‐Perot filter is realized by inscribing two identical 1 mm uniform Bragg gratings separated by 7.7 mm space in the hydrogen‐loaded photosensitive optical fiber. It is then incorporated with a tunable chirped fiber Bragg grating into a fiber ring cavity. Fourteen single‐wavelength lasings from 1552.186 nm to 1553.453 nm with average 97.5 pm spacing, and 13 pairs of dual‐wavelength lasings within the above wavelength range are achieved stably. This kind of laser will be very useful in applications requiring close‐spacing and tunable single‐ or dual‐wavelength components and systems. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
