Analysis of the Concept and Theoretical Perspectives of Insecurity and Sustainable Development

This paper analyzed the concept and theoretical perspectives of insecurity and sustainable development. Conceptual analysis does not result with the new definition. It is also not a comparative analysis of definitions with the purpose of formulating an all-embracing definitions. Instead, it formulates a common denominator which expresses “common conceptual distinctions underlying various conceptions and perspectives of insecurity. Thus, the objective of the paper is to examine the views, opinion and perspectives of scholars, analysts and institutions on the concept of insecurity and sustainable development. The paper to established nexus between the two concepts. The paper examined various empirical literatures and contemporary sociological theories for the explanation and understanding the link between insecurity and sustainable development. The paper discovered that there is a link between insecurity and sustainable development. Insecurity negatively affect sustainable developmental stride. Thus, it concluded that the link between insecurity and sustainable development is strong and thus should not be undermined.

Research on design evaluation of wooden outdoor seating system

[Objective] Although there are many kinds of materials for outdoor seating, there are also limitations. People prefer natural wood materials which are warm in winter and cool in summer. From the perspective of sustainable development, wood substitute for natural preservative wood is replaceable, so it has become the main material for outdoor seating. The purpose of this paper is to verify the advantages of wood and wood -like materials in the application of outdoor seating with expert evaluation methods. [Methods] The Del phi expert evaluation method was used to optimize the different schemes of wood and non -wood materials in the empirical study. Based on the three levels of “environment - space - people ”, the evaluation was carried out from multiple perspectives, from the urban ecological environment appeals of the top system of the macro root layer to the extension system of the meso-generative layer of the harmonious space and place system, as well as the micro-representational layer ontology system problems involving the form, function and material technology of outdoor seating. [Result] Finally, based on the quantitative data analysis of Delphi expert evaluation method and standard deviation comparison analysis results, the outdoor seating system design of wood and imitation wood materials was obtained by experts’ preference and affirmation. [Conclusion] T he material selection of outdoor seating can be mainly wood, and the acceptance of imitation wood outdoor seating is similar to wood. When selecting outdoor seating materials, we can gradually introduce composite anticorrosive wood materials to replace non -renewable natural anticorrosive wood.

Optimization of Well Layout Direction of Tertiary Infill Wells in Water Drive from the Perspective of Sustainable Development

In this study, SAA (Simulated annealing algorithm) is used to optimize the well layout direction of tertiary infilling wells by water flooding. The specific research includes: (1) constructing a mathematical model for optimizing the well layout direction of tertiary infilling wells by water flooding; Design the search strategy of SAA; Simulation experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm; Analyze the experimental results and put forward optimization suggestions. The simulation results show that the oil recovery after optimization is about 10% higher than that before optimization. This result directly proves the effectiveness of SAA in the optimization of well layout direction of tertiary infill wells by water flooding. At the same time, the convergence of the algorithm is good in the optimization process, which shows that the SAA is efficient in solving this problem. And the algorithm in this paper has good stability and consistency in many experiments. This result verifies the effectiveness and adaptability of the algorithm in this paper, and provides strong support for the practical application in oilfield development. Through this study, it is expected to provide new ideas and methods for optimizing the well layout direction of tertiary infilling wells by water flooding, and promote the innovation and development of oilfield development technology.

Study on Protection Strategies of Traditional Villages in the Central Plains of China

Background: Traditional villages in the Central Plains reflect the economic, social, cultural, and architectural technology characteristics of the region during a specific period. Their composition not only carries the coordination between people's living environment and the natural environment but also reflects people's social relations and institutional culture in collective living conditions. Therefore, it is of rich sociological and practical significance to explore the causes of the living environment formed by traditional villages in the Central Plains over thousands of years, the mutual influence of productivity and production relations, and the decline and transformation of the spatial environment. Method: With the help of theoretical systems such as architectural typology, residential area, and cultural geography. Research is conducted through on-site surveys and literature collection.Results: Conduct static research on the factors that affect the spatial form of villages and conduct classification and exploration from the aspects of village location, village form, spatial characteristics, courtyard layout, and residential characteristics. And build a research framework based on the formation logic, external morphological characteristics, and internal evolution mechanisms of the Central Plains villages and traditional residences and analyse the causes and cultural attributes of the Central Plains traditional villages and residences. Conclusion: From the perspective of cultural continuity and sustainable development, and based on the current situation, protection difficulties, and development opportunities of traditional villages and residential culture in the Central Plains, multiple protection paths for traditional villages in the Central Plains are drawn.

The Dilemmas and Countermeasures of China’s Energy Development under the Background of Sustainable Development

Energy is a vital resource for human survival as well as the material basis of all production and life. Environmental pollution and excessive resource consumption have become major issues in China due to the rapid consumption of energy driven by the deepening of reform and opening up and the acceleration of economic development. Problems and response strategies in the development and use of renewable energy have been analyzed from the perspective of sustainable environmental development in response to the existing situation of energy scarcity and environmental pollution in China. This analysis stresses the necessity of using renewable energy and its influence on environmentally sustainable development. It also provides prospects to achieve sustainable development in terms of energy utilization, the environment, and energy.

Caspian-sea ecotourism potential: Sustainable development and conservation perspectives

This paper presents the ecotourism potential of the Caspian Sea and its use in the context of sustainable development. The Azerbaijani sector is located in the southwestern part of the Caspian Sea and constitutes approximately 20-25% of the entire sea. The Caspian Sea is a vast body of water with rare biological diversity and unique ecosystems. The paper investigates how these natural resources can be used for ecotourism purposes and how conservation measures can be implemented alongside this. In particular, integrated strategies and management models are proposed to protect marine ecosystems while enhancing the socio-economic well-being of local communities. Research results show that ecotourism can be a tool to ensure sustainable development in the Caspian Sea region and support the long-term protection of ecosystems. The paper provides practical recommendations for researchers, planners, and policymakers who wish to explore the potential of ecotourism in the Caspian Sea. The ecotourism potential of the Caspian Sea includes opportunities to explore unique ecosystems, observe migratory birds, visit national parks and protected areas, engage with marine and coastal ecosystems, appreciate cultural and historical values, and participate in health tourism, all of which can contribute to nature conservation and the economic development of local communities. In the Caspian Sea ecotourism, marine tourism, cultural and historical tourism, health and wellness tourism, and birdwatching tourism can be developed.

Managing green growth in selected non-EU Balkan countries

It has become clear that economic growth is not the only way of expressing a country’s development and progress. Recently, development has also come to incorporate the components of environmental protection and social equity within a broader perspective of sustainable development. One of the instruments that can be used to quantify this is the Green Growth Index (GGI). This facilitates policymaking in achieving sustainable development since it is based on four dimensions: efficient and sustainable resource use; natural capital protection; green economic opportunities; and social inclusion. The goal of this article is to present the GGI scores achieved by five non-EU Balkan countries in 2019 and 2020. The research points to the conclusion that each country has started on its path to achieving green growth and sustainable development, but there are possibilities for further improvement in separate/particular dimensions. Hence, a recommendation for these countries is that they increase their efforts in those dimensions in which they have lower values to raise their overall GGI ranking.

This study aims to assess the state of implementation of institutionalization related to regional sustainable development from the perspectives of sustainable development and cooperative governance. To this end, we surveyed 13 cities and counties in Chungnam-do, examining relevant ordinances, implementation systems such as means and foundations, and the status of sustainable development councils, and conducted in-depth interviews with key activists to understand the current situation at close range. The research findings reveal, first, that many ordinances lack explicit provisions regarding the effectiveness and certain key clauses. Second, none of the cities and counties have properly established implementation systems, including means and infrastructure, for sustainable development. Third, the sustainable development conferences, which are practically leading regional sustainable development, face significant challenges in terms of human resources, budget, and fulfilling their designated functions and roles. Taken together, we find that the institutionalization of sustainable development is weak and the enabling environment is very poor. A lack of awareness and will to act by local governments is cited as a key cause. In this regard, the study suggests strengthening the private sector as a social pressure measure to stimulate local government change and innovation, and proposes to put it on the agenda.

Optimal siting of shared energy storage projects from a sustainable development perspective: A two-stage framework

The rapidly increasing installed renewable energy capacity has drawn greater attention to energy storage technology in China. However, the commercial implementation of energy storage is constrained by several obstacles. One potential solution to overcome these constraints is the shared energy storage model. The optimal location layout plays a crucial role in addressing the strategic decision problem of sustainable development. Therefore, a two-stage multi-criteria decision-making model is proposed to identify the optimal locations of shared energy storage projects in this work. In the first stage, the power attraction model is established to determine the macroscopic layout of shared energy storage. In the second stage, a large-scale group decision making (LSGDM) framework is developed to select the optimal micro location. The empirical study conducted in China reveals that Shandong, Henan, and Hebei provinces exhibit greater power flow attraction, from which eight alternatives are selected as site preferences and evaluated by twenty experts. Based on the improved EDAS method, the evaluation score function values of the eight alternatives are 0.497, 0.5, 0.476, 0.499, 0.507, 0.477, 0.506, and 0.498, respectively. Specifically, A5 in Rao Yang County, Hengshui City and A7 in Qing Long Manchu Autonomous County, Qinhuangdao City are preferred locations. Furthermore, the dependability and stability of the model are illustrated through the sensitivity analysis and comparative analysis. This model not only assists in determining the layout of shared energy storage but also contributes to the theoretical study of geographic information system and LSGDM.

Optimization of agricultural planting structure in irrigation areas of Heilongjiang province considering the constraints of water resource system resilience

From the perspective of sustainable development in irrigation areas, imperfect constraints, which have negatively impacted previous agricultural planting structure optimization models, tend to produce unreasonable optimization results. Thus, in this paper, attempts are made to incorporate the resilience of water resource systems into the constraint set and explore the optimal layout of agricultural planting structures in irrigation areas. We selected 12 sample irrigation areas in Heilongjiang Province, China, including Chahayang, Fuyu, and Tailai, as the research areas and considered their actual situations. Then, we established a multiobjective optimization model for an agricultural planting structure with rice, soybean, and corn planting areas as decision variables; socioeconomic benefits, agricultural production benefits, ecological benefits, and water resource benefits as objective functions; and water resource system resilience and net crop output value and other factors as constraints. Fifteen scenarios were assessed through the combination of objective functions, and the nondominated sorting genetic algorithm III (NSGA-III) was used to optimize and analyze the agricultural planting structure of typical irrigation areas in Heilongjiang Province and to determine the optimal planting plan. The research results found that the function values adjusted by planting area have significantly improved compared to those before optimization. The adjustment trend of agricultural planting area is to increase the planting area of rice and soybean and reduce the planting area of corn. The introduction of constraints on water resource system resilience ensures that other benefits remain basically unchanged; thus, the water resource objective function is significantly better with resilience constraints than without them. Therefore, water resource system resilience can act as an effective constraint; this finding enriches and expands the theoretical and methodological system for optimizing the management of agricultural planting structures in irrigation areas and thus provides important technological support for ensuring regional food security, ecological security, and water security, which has substantial practical significance.
