The lexical-semantic macrofield homeland is based on semantic origins, which are the components of the dictionary definitions. The lexeme homeland is a polysemy, which indicates its wide semantic range and productive use. The boundaries of the lexical-semantic macro-field under study are conditional and united on the basis of semantic combinations of the terms “fatherland”, “country”, “birthplace”, “origin”, “birth / origin” (of someone or something). Lexical units of the field “homeland” are distributed on the principle “core – periphery”: lexical-semantic groups with synonymic and antonymic series organize core (subject lexical-grammatical groups), near-core (procedural lexical-grammatical groups) and peripheral (attribute lexical-grammatical groups) zones of lexical-semantic field. Syntagmatic relations between lexical units of the lexical-semantic macrofield “homeland” are built according to three basic models (“adjective name + homeland”, “homeland + noun in the genitive case”, “verb + homeland”) and are distributed in thematic groups.
