Persepsi Masyarakat Terhadap Mitos dan Fakta Perbankan Syariah

The diverse perceptions of society regarding Islamic banking, often colored by myths and unexplored viewpoints. The objective of this study is to analyze the public's perceptions of myths and facts surrounding Islamic banking, with a specific focus on Bank Muamalat Branch Tulungagung. The research methodology employed is descriptive qualitative, utilizing in-depth interviews and content analysis. The results reveal that despite prevalent myths, Islamic banking, particularly Bank Muamalat, offers transparent, secure, and cost-competitive services. Furthermore, it is found that Islamic banking is not exclusive to Muslims but accessible to the entire community. These findings contribute positively to understanding the socio-economic dynamics of the community, highlighting the strengths of Islamic banking, and providing a foundation for further research and development in the Islamic banking industry

Nonclassical mythology on the cognitive problems and capabilities of myth ontology

This article is dedicated to the cognitive and epistemological peculiarities of the myth, which can be better understood relying on the principles and approaches of nonclassical science. The article discloses the key reasons for incomprehension of the myth by science, and explains the ways for its overcoming based on the broader sense of the myth. Within the framework of this paradigm, myth is viewed as a cultural universal, where mythmaking is a quality and function of consciousness. Such myth long ago has transcended the representations and formulas of classical mythology, and requires different attitude, considering the latest research (A. A. Gagaev, A. M. Lobok, V. M. Naydysh, and others). These studies indicate that modern (nonclassical) myth can be grasped only with consideration of latest discoveries in psychology, semiotics, and cognitive research, which prove that people have always been engaged in mythmaking, not just at the dawn of humanity. This means that on the agenda of scientific research of myth is the problem of existence of another nonclassical mythology and the creation of the universal theory of myth. All major elaborations of the leading theories of myth of the XX century are successfully synthesized within the universal theory of myth in accordance with the principle of mutual complementarity. This topic is increasingly relevant, and opens up new opportunities for science, fundamentally changing its perception of myth.

Representation of Women's Struggles in the Film "Imperfect: Career, Love, Scales"(“Imperfect: Karir, Cinta, Timbangan”)

Imperfect Film: Career, Love, Scales is a clear proof that the stigma in society towards body image and other people's expectations of women, especially on the physical appearance of the woman herself, is still very strong. How come? The diversity of tribes and cultures that this nation possesses only refers to one standard of beauty which is quite absurd, at least most men think that women’s standards are the ones who are white, have long hair, tall and slim. This research aims to identify the representation of women's struggles in the Imperfect film: Career, Love, Scales, which raises the issue of insecure/body shaming against women and also instills a message that a perfect life is to accept those imperfections, unless, one would forever live in worry and insecurity. This research method employed John Fiske's semiotic method of reality, representation and ideology which will later be built with the perception of myth through an online correspondence survey methodology regarding with representations of women's struggles in the Imperfectfilm: Career, Love, Scales. The data was collected by using film analysis, internet surfing, documentation and online survey. This present research results point out that the women’s representation of women in the Imperfect film: Career, Love, Scales depicts verbal violence, so the authors suggest that people should eliminate opinions or judgments that can hurt someone both physically and non-physically.

New Outline to the Creation of Myths from a Semiotics Point of View

This article introduces a new assumption in the formation of myths. Based on the existing literature, the hypothesis of this article is that all myths are created based on the selection of components from a limited collection and the combination of those components with each other. For better understanding and discussing this hypothesis, it is required to give a definition of myth and its kinds, followed by short discussions about the narrative and continue with discussions of the two processes called selection and combination. The author shows that each myth is created based on the narrative and this creation is limited to the selection and combination of components which are exemplified from the real world. Each myth is created in a possible world which is based on the narrative of the myth. Selection and combination of components to create a myth is obeying the rules of the real world and the perception of myth is based on the human perception of the real world.

“It Can’t Be Rape”: Female vs. Male Rape Myths Among Israeli Police Officers

This study compared male and female Israeli police officers (n = 242) and undergraduate students (n = 273) in their perception of myths about male and female rape and the association between these myths and social attitudes toward gender roles. The results indicated that men were more likely to subscribe to myths about male and female rape, and that police officers accept myths about female rape more than students of either gender. Analysis of the regression findings shows that gender role stereotypes significantly predict acceptance of rape myths among both men and women. The implications of these findings are discussed.

Myth Creation in the Poetic Evolution of P. A. Oyunsky

The article discusses the features of myth creation in the poet art of the founder of Yakut Soviet literature, Platon Alekseyevich Oiyunsky. Based on the theoretical and methodological developments of profound researchers of mythology, such as E.M. Meletinsky, U.M. Lotman, V.N. Toporov and others as well as the modern-day researchers of the Formation Period of Soviet literature, such as A. Gennep, J.C. Gunther, E. Dobrenko, K. Clark and others, we have overviewed the main aspects of the main mythological plots, motifs, and images functioning in the civil and philosophical lyrical poetry of the Yakut poet. We also justify the fact that while Oiyunsky turned to mythology in different periods of his creative life, his mythology-creating technique evolved together with his personal ideological principles and with the ideological trends of that time. In the early period of his creative life, the transforming mythological ideology holds strong positions in his civil lyrical poetry; this kind of poetry implies moving from chaos to creation. In this aspect, the perception of myths in the creative works by Oiyunsky is studied consecutively in accordance with the rituals of transitioning (according to the classification given by Gennep): from the renunciation (destruction) of the old world to a preliminary stage of creation, and finally – the creation of the new world. It has been clearly defined that the permanent motifs of chaos cosmic nature and the transition from darkness to light, sacrifices made in the name of the good as well as deaths and resurrections hold a special place in the mythological model of world creation (the victory of the Soviet power and the triumph of the socialism ideas). The creation of a new type of main character, similar in terms of structure to the mythological character represented in the culture, also speaks in favor of Oiyunsky’s creative tendency towards mythology in his poetry. The author of the present article makes the following hypothesis: apart from using myths in the organization of heroic, patriotic and pathetic text structures, Oiyunsky creates an exceptionally novel type of mythological perception, which establishes a new level of creative thinking encompassing the most fundamental features of human existence. Mythology in creative works of Oiyunsky plays an important role in creating the lyrical motifs in his poetry. Myths attain a new language form in his poetry, thus, expressing his world perception.

An Initial Validation of a Measure of Personal and Social Perceptions of the Sexual Abuse of Males

Objective/Method: The Sexual Abuse of Males Perceptions Scale (SAMPS) is a measure designed to assess an individual’s personal and projected social perceptions of myths about the sexual abuse of boys and men. Myths are rigid, stereotypical beliefs that invalidate the experiences and minimize the profound effects of sexual abuse on boys and men. This study establishes the initial psychometric properties for the SAMPS, based on a sample of 333 students enrolled in diverse courses (i.e., business, psychology, social work, urban and regional planning, and education) at a large, southern university. Results/Conclusions: The SAMPS was developed as a three-factor instrument. Preliminary findings confirm this structure and indicate the SAMPS shows promise for future uses relating to training, research, and clinical practice.
