Penerapan Metode NNC (Nouthetic Nature Community) Yang Berdampak Pada Layanan Masyarakat

The NNC (Nouthetic Nature Community) method is a new method that comes from combining Nouthetic which consists of the elements of Confrontation, Concern, and Change as well as the addition of Nature and Community elements, the author named the NNC method. The author created this new method based on the needs of members of a local church who were experiencing feelings of disappointment. One of the elements of NNC is Community which has an impact on services to the community, distribution of food to people in need, this community is named Dapoer Berkat. Dapoer Berkat community activities aim to ensure that each member experiences recovery through counseling, worship, prayer as well as the loving service of distributing food to the surrounding community. Dapoer Berkat chose this community service place in Ciangsana village, West Java because it is close to the community and in Ciangsana village there are quite a lot of elderly people who still work as janitors, rubbish collectors, and online motorbike taxis. The love of Christ drives Dapoer. Thanks to carrying out this ministry, love is a real action that can be felt by everyone.

Various alternative solutions to reduce waste continue to be sought and developed. This includes fly ash and bottom ash which are waste products from burning coal, one of which is produced by Steam Power Plants (PLTU). So the increasing need for electricity will also be followed by an increase in the amount of waste. This type of waste is utilized in various fields of science, such as agriculture, industry and quite a lot in the construction sector. As a field that continues to develop along with people's need to live and move, utilization in the construction sector has great potential as a solution to reduce this waste. The use of fly ash and bottom ash in construction material mixtures as a quality enhancer or simply to reduce the use of natural materials continues to be carried out. This research will focus on the utilization of waste at a large percentage on a construction product scale. Substitution in the composition of the mortar mixture which is the initial product shows the effect of improving quality at a relatively low percentage in the variations used in this research. However, the full substitution of this waste as a substitute for natural materials, namely fine aggregate, is still in a fairly good range, especially in the composition of mortar mixtures with relatively low quality targets or in composition ratios with more aggregate material than cement or binder.

The Needs and Requirements of People with Disabilities for Frequent Movement in Cities: Insights from Qualitative and Quantitative Data of the TRIPS Project

Moving is an indispensable component of travelling. This paper discusses the experiences of persons with disabilities when moving around cities on foot or wheels, based on research conducted during the EU-funded project TRIPS. Findings comprise participants’ vignettes from 49 interviews in seven European cities, views on smart assistive technologies (e.g., Augmented Reality) from a pan-European quantitative survey, and design concepts related to walking based on a co-creation workshop that actively engaged persons with various types of disabilities in ideation. Findings suggest that people need reliable and clear wayfaring information on accessible travel routes featuring the coordinated design of streets, pavement, stops, stations, and vehicles to ensure seamless, step-free, and obstacle-free access, as well as disability-sensitive management of disruptions such as maintenance works, for example. Findings also suggest that users are open to using any assistive technology that can enable them to live more independently, assuming it is accessible, and are keen to co-innovate. Finally, we make recommendations for policy changes that can facilitate the redesign of urban infrastructure to make cities more accessible for people with disabilities and drive structural changes in urban planning.

The Effect of Training Using Demonstration Methods on Community Knowledge About Mitigation and Evacuation of Disaster Victims

Knowledge that is used sustainably is an urgent need, especially considering the threat of natural disasters that can arise anytime and anywhere. Therefore, people need basic capital to save themselves from disasters, namely emergency response capabilities to disasters and sufficient resources. The aim of the research is to analyze the effect of training using the demonstration method on public knowledge about mitigating and evacuating disaster victims. The method used is observational analytical research. The population is the people of Lopo village, Batudaa Pantai District with a sampling technique, namely accidental sampling, namely 19 people. The total sample was 67 respondents. Data collection was carried out using instruments based on the Knowledge questionnaire with pretest and posttest methods after training and demonstrations. Data analysis was carried out using paired sample T-Test statistical analysis of respondents from the Lopo Village community. The results of the analysis of the influence of training using the demonstration method on public knowledge regarding mitigation and evacuation of disaster victims obtained a value of ρ = 0.000 (ρ = 0.05) so that there is an influence between the two variables. The conclusion is that there is an influence of training using the demonstration method on community knowledge regarding mitigation and evacuation of disaster victims in the Lopo Village community.

Age as a differentiating factor in consumer behaviour in the context of the implementation of circular waste management

The aim of the article is to determine differences in getting rid of unnecessary but operational items from households by young and older people. This is a significant problem from the point of view of the implementation of the principles of the circular economy because successful implementation of the circular economy system in municipalities depends on the habits and behaviour of consumers. The article is of a research nature. The survey was conducted in January 2020 using the CAWI method on a representative sample of n=1012 adult Polish residents aged 18 to 60. In the case of most of the product categories studied, there are differences in the way young and older people deal with unnecessary items. Younger people are more willing to buy new things, but on a positive note, they also often declare willingness to resell products they no longer need. However, an unfavourable phenomenon is the inclination of young people to store unnecessary items in their households. Older people - in the case of most of the products tested - are willing to give them free of charge to people in need. By knowing which groups of subjects deal with unnecessary objects less responsibly, one will be able to take targeted actions to change their behaviour.

Musical convergence and divergence in occupied İstanbul, 1918–1923

AbstractThe Allied occupation of İstanbul after World War I had a transformative impact on the city’s musical entertainment sector. The arrival of large numbers of military personnel created additional demand for music halls, cabarets,cafe-chantants, and concert venues. Servicemen’s musical preferences were catered for by resident İstanbulites and others who found refuge in the city, creating opportunities for musicians and entertainment entrepreneurs to benefit from new and existing patrons. This buoyant market was further harnessed for charitable causes directed at new categories of people in need. The distinct political climate introduced with occupation also made its mark on musical performance, with nationalist and socialist groups using concerts to promote messages of salvation. The end of the occupation led to the dispersal of these musicians to new locations, such as the new Republican capital of Ankara, which attracted talents intent on staying in Turkey, and Athens and Thessaloniki, which received Greek Orthodox musicians fleeing the new Turkish nationalist regime, and still further afield. Using British, French, and Ottoman government documents, memoirs, and newspapers, the article investigates this process of musical convergence and divergence and analyses the local and global impact of the aural encounters of this overlooked period in İstanbul’s cultural history.

Health problems related to critical conditions most often occur in everyday life. Critical conditions that can occur suddenly include traffic accidents, poisoning, exposure to hot oil or hot water, and swallowing small objects. This can have an impact on disability and death. The main causes of death due to injury are traffic accidents, suicide, falls, drowning, and poisoning. Handling critical conditions must be done quickly using trained skills. Therefore, people need to get basic skills in handling critical cases. The solution to the problem in the Emergency Response Assisted Village Development program through Skills for Accident and Emergency in Increasing Community Independence as an Effort to Prevent Injury and Death in Lawe Kihing Village, Bambel District, Southeast Aceh Regency, namely forming health cadres, basic life support training, early treatment of burns, poisoning and First Aid, Establishing an Mou with the Hospital for the patient transfer process, SkACy_Ku Module, and ongoing assistance through the SkACy_Ku Module. The results of the activities achieved were that the majority of health cadres had good knowledge and skills regarding emergency case-handling actions.

The metamotivation approach: Insights into the regulation of motivation and beyond

AbstractResearchers across theoretical traditions have long recognized the need for people to monitor and modulate certain aspects of their subjective experiences (such as their thoughts and feelings) in response to situational challenges that interfere with the attainment of important goals. Comparatively less attention has been devoted to understanding the beliefs and mechanisms necessary to regulate motivational states—i.e., metamotivation, even though motivational states are often integral to people's subjective experiences of events. As particular types of motivational states are more adaptive in some contexts than in others, flexibly instantiating the right motivational state at the right time may be key to achieving one's goals. The current paper reviews the principles of the metamotivational approach to studying motivation regulation and briefly reviews supporting research. In addition, we highlight metamotivation research conducted in the context of self‐affirmation theory to demonstrate the generative potential of this approach for researching phenomena that have traditionally been treated as separate from self‐regulation. We conclude by discussing some of the novel questions that the metamotivational approach has prompted, both in and outside of the self‐regulatory domain.

Compared RGB Methods Towards Efficient Money Detector for Blind People

Limitations of profound visual impairment distinguishing each nominal number of banknotes are often used by people with bad intentions to take advantage of that basis, like money fraud. Due to this reason, the blind people need to be helped to recognize their surroundings by developing assistive technology that is advanced for them. This study aims to build an efficient design of a money detector by comparing three RGB methods: range breakdown, If-Then Rules, and decision tree to recognize the nominal of money. The sample used in this experiment is rupiah banknotes for the 2016 and 2022 issuances. The device is built with a TCS3200 colour sensor and designed in a real-time platform. It has been found that the highest average percentage accuracy was achieved by the breakdown range method with 100% (2016 sample) and 90% (2022 sample). This device also successfully produced a notification sound from a speaker that mentions the detected nominal value. This research could be used as a reference to improve assistive technology for blind people.

This app will enable users to register, login, view items, add items, add items to cart, remove an item from the cart, and log out. This app is using the sql storage and real-time database. Any user in need can see all the food images donated by different users and add it to his or her cart. SWIGGY and ZOMATO have emerged as the biggest players in online food ordering and delivery marketplace in India. Some of the other major players operating in the Indian market are, Faaso’s Food Services Private Limited, Food vista India Private Limited, Food Panda and Uber EATS, etc. Like these we are making system for remaining food of our home or programme , these food we can supply to ngo through the application.

Turning a Curve: How People Use Everyday Resources to Negotiate Recovery From Cancer Treatment With Curative Intent.

Many more cancers are treated with intent to cure now than in previous decades, but for most, this involves significant effects from which people need to recover psychologically and socially, as well as physically. This longitudinal photo-elicitation interview study uses grounded theory to explain how people discharged from specialist care made use of everyday social and material resources to manage this process at home. Recovery is presented as a curve in life's pathway requiring gradual reorientation, drawing on social worlds and domestic resources to calibrate this process. Findings are described in three stages: (1) responding to diagnosis and treatment, (2) using social resources for meaning-making, and (3) developing assets for recovery. During treatment, participants drew on past identities to reinforce their sense of self, and personalized health care communication supported this process. In the weeks after treatment, new frameworks of understanding were constructed from perspectives on cancer encountered in the family, workplace, and outpatient clinics. Recovery processes included the negotiation of personal change, the renegotiation of close relationships, and the use of everyday resources to regain three sensations: control, comfort, and continuity. Supportive care would benefit from an individualized exploration of the assets that can help people to negotiate this challenging phase as treatment comes to a close. Possibilities for self-care (the maintenance of health and well-being in the context of everyday life) can be explored and assessed through personalized discussion around the identities, social worlds, and everyday resources available to each individual.

Barriers to Managing Childhood Obesity in the General Practice Amidst of the Double Burden of Malnutrition: A Sri Lankan Perspective

Childhood obesity is on the rise, mostly in the low-income regions in South Asia including Sri Lanka. Simultaneously, undernutrition also continues to be an ongoing public health issue. The coexistence of childhood obesity with undernutrition has resulted in a double burden of malnutrition in these countries. Management of obesity in a community already affected by undernutrition is a challenging situation. At present, management of childhood obesity occurs as a hospital-based lifestyle modification intervention which cannot address all tiers in the community alike. Although national level multifaceted strategies are in place, implementation is limited due to financial constraints. In this context, the general practitioners can be considered as an important group of medical professionals who can reach families in the community. In many households in Sri Lanka, an overweight child is considered as normal and well-nourished in comparison to an underweight child. Unhealthy eating habits and force feeding have become norms in the society. Changing mindsets of people need significant time and commitment. General practitioners, in the community would be able to achieve this target through effective communication based on a nutrition sensitive approach. While uplifting the infrastructure facilities, steps have to be taken to update the knowledge and communication skills of the general practitioners on managing childhood obesity in a community affected with double burden of malnutrition. The well-equipped GP is an asset to modify the attitudes and thinking patterns of parents with regard to child nutritional problems. Waste management behaviour in the most populated capital city of the world

PurposeA prime objective of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (SBA; Clean India Mission) is to motivate people to segregate their household waste. The purpose of this study is to assess the ground reality of waste management behaviour of Delhi residents with the help of a modified Value–Belief–Norm (VBN) model. Past researches point the need to include cost as a variable in the VBN model. This study fulfils this need and tests cost as one of the variables on the gathered data.Design/methodology/approachThe research data were gathered by interacting with the people and the civic staff in the jurisdiction of the three Delhi municipalities through a stratified sampling technique (N = 250). The structural equation modelling was used to analyse the collected data.FindingsThe modified VBN model explains the waste management behaviour, but the variables do not follow the exact causal chain. Values, awareness of consequences, ascription of responsibility and personal norms all explain the resident's waste management behaviour. However, cost limits the resident's waste management behaviour.Research limitations/implicationsThe study could only achieve a moderate model fit; its sample size was small; and data were collected through self-reported questionnaire.Practical implicationsThree main practical implications of the study are: (1) While designing waste management solutions, due importance must be given to the cost to be borne by people for adopting these solutions. (2) Design such interventions that target residents' values to convince them to make the desired behavioural change. (3) People need be educated about the ways to sort waste and made aware of the importance of waste segregation in eradicating the urban waste mess.Originality/valueThe paper is an original contribution to testing a modified VBN model in predicting waste management behaviour. The modified model includes cost as a variable missing in the previous research. This research is useful in the backdrop of the SBA and provides suggestions for policymakers and pro-environment researchers.

Mutual cooperation is also a local wisdom of the Toba Batak community, which is often referred to as Marsiadapari, a mutual cooperation activity carried out by the Toba Batak community in providing labor assistance without giving wages to the people who help them. Marsiadapari is carried out voluntarily to help each other in the community around their rice fields who need help. The aim of the research is to find out the local wisdom of Marsiadapari carried out in Marhobas at Batak Feasts and to find out the Modernization of Marsiadapari: Ecological Reflections in Marhobas at Batak Feasts. The method used in this research is a qualitative method based on case studies and literature studies and uses reliable and accurate sources such as journals, books and the Bible. Marsiadapari: ecological reflection in marhobas at Batak festivals is local wisdom that has long existed, but with the rapid modernization that is creating many changes, Toba Batak people need to be more critical in responding to current modernization, not to turn a blind eye to the modernization of local wisdom of the Batak community Toba, and can also maintain the ecology of Marhobas at the Toba Batak party.

Discussing trust and resilience: The need for a healthy dose of distrust

AbstractHow are trust and reslience related? There is a lack of conceptual discussions. This paper analyzes trust and resilience with respect to the system of critical infrastructures and engineers working on critical infrastructure resilience. The results are three findings based on the assumption that resilience and trust are mechanisms to cope with complexity and uncertainty inherent to modern societies and critical infrastructures. First, they are no functional alternatives. Trust is an everyday process where favorable expectations help to act “as if” uncertainty was successfully resolved. Resilience helps to cope in “what if” cases when disaster strikes. Second, resembling the risk perception paradox, too much trust in critical infrastructures might lead to complacency, decreasing individual coping capacities and subsequently resilience. People need a healthy dose of distrust—distrust being a functional alternative to trust and not its opposite—to be aware that a disruption might happen and prepare for it. Third, notwithstanding the difficulties of uncertainty communication, engineers need to communicate limits to knowledge resulting from complexity transparently. This might decrease trust in specific solutions, but could sustain overall system trust, because it helps to adjust favorable expectations.

Synergy of digital economy and green economy in sustainable development policy

<p>Sustainability challenges and ICT perspectives are at the heart of current thinking on global economic and social development. The current development and growth process is based on unsustainable foundations due to irresponsible resource consumption and negative environmental impacts as well as greenhouse gas emissions. People need to find ways to integrate the digital economy and the sustainability of the green economy. Therefore, this paper firstly describes the intersection of digital economy and green economy, secondly introduces the security system of digital economy and green economy, then based on this, the SURF (Speeded-up robust features) algorithm is used to locate and improve the data aggregation system of digital economy and green economy, and finally, the algorithm simulation experiment is conducted. The experimental results found that the aggregation algorithm based on digital economy and green economy has 19% higher accuracy than the traditional algorithm. At the same time, the calculation speed is increased by three to five times. The above results show that the SURF algorithm is applied to the sustainable development research of digital economy and green economy with significant effect.</p>

The rapid progress of information technology (IT) has created major challenges in interpersonal relationships, whether between individuals, communities, countries, or even clans. The development of information and communication technology has led to the emergence of new ideas among the general public. This causes the need for people who have the ability and high motivation to participate in the development of technology and information. .The research method uses a questionnaire method. According to Sukardi (1985) a questionnaire is a set of questions or statements that must be answered by respondents. This development method consists of several stages - In this research, we succeeded in collecting questionnaire response data from Binadarma students regarding the development of operating system learning. Data analysis shows that the majority of respondents expressed a high level of understanding of operating system material in the group interactive assignment learning method with a percentage of 56%, where students were 30% and female students were 26% and in the method of using technology as part of the process of learning operating system material with a percentage of 56%. where students are 26% and female students are 30%. However, there are difficulties faced by some students using the lecture method in understanding the material with a percentage of 62%, where 34% of students and 28% of female students. And in the statement based on learning sources, the majority of Binadarma students showed a high level of understanding of the material in learning sources through creative and interesting operating system material with a percentage of 68%, where students were 36% and female students were 32%.

A Dynamic Model for Managing Volunteer Engagement

Managing Volunteer Engagement Non-profit organizations that provide food, shelter, and other services to people in need, rely on volunteers to deliver their services. Unlike paid labor, non-profit organizations have less control over unpaid volunteers’ schedules, efforts, and reliability. However, these organizations can invest in volunteer engagement activities to strive for a steady and adequate supply of volunteer labor. The paper, “A Dynamic Model for Managing Volunteer Engagement”, models the volunteer management process. The paper derives a dynamic control policy that judiciously uses the non-profit’s resources for volunteer engagement activities depending on explicit congestion thresholds, thereby lowering the overall cost of the non-profit operation.
