Radiation therapy in the management of carcinoma of the prostate

Radiation therapy is an effective method in the eradication of prostatic carcinoma at the primary site and in the regional pelvic lymph nodes. Radiation therapy is also effective in the relief of pain or other symptoms associated with extensive pelvic disease or distant metastases.
