Currently, in the system of additional children’s music education, the Chinese national clarinet school has a truly leading position in terms of having an effective methodological teaching system. This is dictated by the fact that throughout the 20th century there was a regular development of virtually all didactic aspects of teaching this wind instrument. By the beginning of the 21st century, the clarinet school in China had become a pedagogical evolutionary phenomenon, breaking out into the status of an authoritative direction in the system of additional education. Despite this, there are a number of aspects that need additional pedagogical attention from researchers involved in the development of wind musical instrument teaching. The article examines the uniqueness of the historical development of clarinet education in China and the importance of reviewing modern pedagogical conditions for the implementation of clarinet programmes in children’s music schools.
