Survey on life quality of peptic ulcer older than 60 years

Objective To study the status of the life quality (QOL) of the peptic ulcer older than 60 years in Panyu district of Guangzhou city and to find the solutions of the peptic ulcer old health problem reasonable method.Methods A questionnaire based on SF-36 QOL questionnaire was developed and used in the survey.Respectively age ≥ 60 years old patients with peptic ulcers and General face-to-face survey of older persons.Results In age ≥ 60 years older crowd,Panyu,Guangzhou,the QOL scores in PF,RP,GH,VT,SF,RE,MH domains were lower than the General elderly people,there were significant differences (P＜ 0.05).Same gender comparison shows that male and female patients with PF,GH,VT,RE domains were less than the General older persons.Furthermore,in PF in patients with female dimension is also lower than the General elderly people,there were significant differences (P＜ 0.05).Different genders in elderly patients with peptic ulcer of PF BP,and GH score were lower than other older persons,there were significant differences (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions In Panyu district of Guangzhou city,the QOL of peptic ulcer older than 60 years were lower than the General elderly people,and should increase social support,improve the quality of life of patients. Financial Protection Under the New Rural Cooperative Medical Schemes in China

This study was the first of its kind to analyze the finance protection in New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme in China using a claim database analysis. A claim database analysis of all hospitalizations reimbursed from the New Rural Cooperative Medical Scheme between January 2005 and December 2008 in Panyu district of Guangzhou covering 108,414 discharges was conducted to identify the difference in real reimbursement rate among 5 hospitalization cost categories by sex, age, and hospital type and to investigate the distributions of hospital-type choices among age and hospitalization cost categories. The share of total cost reimbursed was only 34% on average, and increased with age but decreased with higher hospitalization cost, undermining catastrophic coverage. Older people were more likely to be hospitalized at lower level hospitals with higher reimbursement rate. The mean cost per hospitalization and average length of stay increased whereas the real reimbursement rate decreased with hospital level among the top 4 diseases with the same ICD-10 diagnostic code (3-digit level) for each age group. Providing better protection against costly medical needs will require shifting the balance of objectives somewhat away from cost control toward more generous reimbursement, expanding the list of treatments that the insurance will cover, or some other policy to provide adequate care at lower cost facilities where more of the cost is now covered.

Clinical analysis on 20 1- 6 months old infants who have severe pneumonia combine with respiratory failure

Objective To analyze and summarize 1-6 month impact of severe pneumonia with respiratory failure in children clinical manifestations and treatment. Methods Retrospective analysis of Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Central Hospital of Pediatrics 3 years 2007-2010 1 ～ 6 shadow on children admitted with severe pneumonia with respiratory failure in 20 patients with clinical data. Results 1～6 month shadow children with severe pneumonia with respiratory failure severe clinical manifestations and high mortality. Conclusion 1-6 month impact of severe pneumonia with respiratory failure in children is a pediatric clinical critical illness, early detection, early intervention, early intubation is the treatment of rapid extubation in the key treatment strategies. The status of sexually trnsmitted infections in the female sex workers at the entertainment venues in Panyu district

Objective To understand the status of sexually transmitted infections in the female sex workers at the entertainment venues in Panyu district,and to provide scientific support for further preventing and controlling the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Methods 15 entertainment venues were randomly surveyed. The female sex workers were recruited for detection of four types of sexually transmitted diseases (gonorrhea,chlamydia,condyloma,and syphilis) and were surveyed by questionnaires. Results A total of 622 female sex workers were found. The detection rate of sexually transmitted diseases was 21.22％,ofwhich gonorrhea was 3.38％,chlamydia was 10.29％,condyloma was 4.18％,and syphilis was 4.50％. Conclusions Active and effective health education on sexually trnsmitted diseases to the sex workers at the entertainment venues and behavioral intervention are imperative. DataTurbo: Design and realization of extensible data integration engine

For the purpose of solving the problem of Information Island in distributed heterogeneous data sharing, the authors designed and implemented DataTurbo, a platform used to migrate, integrate and syncretize distributed data. DataTurbo was considered to be a comprehensive platform: by the advantage of scalable component design, it supports user-level strategy description; with flexible scheduling engine, it covers commercial software's weakness that it only supports normalized data access interface and has limited functions. The article emphasized the analysis of framework of DataTurbo, the design and implementation of the sustaining level below the function level, and description about the core of scheduling logic and the specification of function component. It has been installed and served in the data center for Panyu District of Guangzhou successfully. DataTurbo can afford a great amount of heterogeneous data exchange and synchronization and is suitable to centralize data between departments in governments and corporations.

Application of ASI systematic approach on Panyu banana orchard soils

The limiting factors of soil nutrient in three different banana orchard farms,Dongchong,Lingshan and Wanqingsha,in Panyu District,Guangzhou City,were identified by systematic application of indicator plant(banana) and diagnostic soil analysis(soil adsorption trial and pot experiment).Results show lack of soil N in all three banana orchards in the study area.Compared with OPT(Optimal Treatment),yield of N treatment markedly decreases by 59.7%,46.7% and 55.1% in Dongchong,Lingshan and Wanqingsha respectively.Banana K and Mg content is low,while B is high in the Dongchong and Lingshan banana orchards.P and K are lacking in soils in Wanqingsha banana orchard.However,soil Mn content in the three banana orchard farms is sufficient.

Swarm intelligence for classification of remote sensing data

This paper proposes a new method to classify remote sensing data by using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). This method is to generate classification rules through simulating the behaviors of bird flocking. Optimized intervals of each band are found by particles in multi-dimension space, linked with land use types for forming classification rules. Compared with other rule induction techniques (e.g. See5.0), PSO can efficiently find optimized cut points of each band, and have good convergence in the search process. This method has been applied to the classification of remote sensing data in Panyu district of Guangzhou with satisfactory results. It can produce higher accuracy in the classification than the See5.0 decision tree model.

Study on the communities of endophytic fungi and endophytic actinomycetes from rice and their antipathogenic activities in vitro

The populations of endophytic fungi and actinomycetes from four rice cultivars in the Panyu district (Site 1) and Wushan district (Site 2) in Guangdong province, South China, were studied. The preponderant endophytic fungi and actinomycetes isolated belonged to Fusarium and Streptomyces respectively. The incidence of Streptomycetes griseofuscus ranged from 36.1 to 69% out of all the different rice cultivars from the two sites. It is the commonest population of endophytic actinomycetes, and constituted the greatest part of all the antagonistic communities. The distributions of endophytic fungi and actinomycetes in roots and leaves were different, endophytic fungi from leaves were diverse, some were organ-specific. More diverse endophytic actinomycetes were isolated from roots than from leaves. The endophytic fungi isolated from rice in Site 2 were more diverse than that in Site 1. The diversity of the endophytic actinomycetes, however, was less than that in Site 1. Acid soil in Site 2 is ideal for the growth and colonization of fungi while the alkaline soil in Site 1 is better for the growth and colonization of actinomycetes. The results suggested that differences in the chemical composition of soil could influence the endophytic microbial communities of rice plants. The endophytic fungi and actinomycetes isolated from poor-growing seedlings and susceptible rice cultivars were more abundant than that the disease-resistant counterparts. In the dual culture and activity detection of the metabolites, 41.2% of all the isolated endophytic fungi showed antagonism to rice pathogens. Fifty percent of all the isolated endophytic actinomycetes were antagonistic to those pathogens. The percentage of Streptomyces griseofuscus and hygroscopicus reached 55.4 and 21.4% of all the active actinomycetes.

Assessment of sustainable water management for rapidly developing urban regions in Guangzhou City, China

The Shawan River will be the focal point in the development of the Panyu District, the southern-most district of Guangzhou City in the Guangdong Province of South China. In this research, through the use of two scenarios, the future water quality of the Shawan River was predicted with relation to changes in the water quantity utilized to fuel industrial and domestic development. The worst-case scenario used, simulated the situation if no wastewater treatment was employed, and the best-case scenario simulated the situation if 90% of the pollution load was removed. The period of simulation was for the years 2020 and 2050. Three flowrates were used in the evaluation, those of: the 90% probability of the month of lowest flow (37.2 m3/s); and the range of flowrates within the low flow period, that is, the dry season from November to February (307 and 432 m3/s). Subsequently, two countermeasures (industrial and domestic water savings)--sustainable initiatives--were nested within the two scenarios to ascertain improvements in water quality as a direct result of reduction in water quantity used. The industrial water saving countermeasure showed the greatest improvement in water quality. For the 90% probability of lowest flow for the worst-case scenario, this countermeasure equated to a 63% decrease in BOD. For the low flow period flowrates the background concentration of pollutants was more influential than improvements imparted by the countermeasures to the future predicted water quality. It was recommended that industrial countermeasures be used that take into account water saving, water recycling, the use of brackish water for cooling, and the implementation of economic pricing initiatives. Also that inter-district governmental policy initiatives be introduced to prevent upstream pollution from influencing downstream proposals, further enhancing sustainable water management of the Shawan River.
