Metadata of articles in the field of agriculture: complications in translating from Russian into English

The international information exchange opportunities including those in the field of agriculture have expanded due to the computer technology development. The metadata of domestic articles on agricultural themes are beginning to be translated into English. The Central Scientific Agricultural Library (CSAL) is directly related to the dissemination of agricultural information, including in English, as it prepares metadata of articles published in some Russian agricultural journals for indexation in the international agricultural information system AGRIS. Quality of these metadata translations from Russian into English has been analyzed. Data available in printed and / or electronic versions of some scientific agricultural publications collected by the Central Scientific Agricultural Library were involved. Typical shortcomings made by Russian-writing translators have been identified. This is excessive adherence to the original sentences; translation of individual words but not the total meaning; insufficient consideration of sectoral specifics during vocabulary choosing. The reasons for the appearance of these shortcomings are analyzed. Based on the generalization of the experience accumulated at the Central Scientific Agricultural Library in creating and editing such metadata, recommendations have been composed to improve the translation quality of titles and abstracts referring to agricultural articles. The nuances of using some terms, as well as working with abbreviations, names of organizations, and article titles are described. Editors are recommended to pay more attention to the compilation of English metadata and build the system of work in this direction.

Narrative Storytelling as a Fan Conversion Tool in the Netflix Docuseries Drive to Survive

This paper explores how narrative storytelling converts individuals into sport fans. Data were collected through content analysis of Netflix’s Formula 1: Drive to Survive. Rhetorical criticism was applied to narrative elements identified in this popular docuseries. The conceptual framework drew from existing theories to detail how narrative storytelling effectively engages audiences and facilitates information exchange to achieve sport fandom. Findings show that the main narrative elements used in Drive to Survive were the plot types of adventure, ascension/descension, rivalry, and sacrifice, as well as the character type of hero. These narrative elements fostered sport fan conversion by providing multiple opportunities for information exchange, emotional connection, and inter-fan relationships. Ultimately, this study provides insight into conversion-through-narrative, strengthening the theoretical link between narrative storytelling and sport fandom by examining how narrative elements function in a successful case of sport fan conversion.

In this article, we will reveal the concept of cyberbullying as one of the types of bullying, its impact on modern society, outline its scope and legal aspects. Modern society is unthinkable without smartphones and gadgets. information and computer technologies. And rarely do we think about what threats these or those carry. other web resources, Internet sites, which today have become integral attributes of the life of a modern person. The rapid development of communications has created opportunities for instant messaging. Despite borders, beyond state influence and control, this includes not only opportunities for the free exchange of information and ideas, but also negative factors. The problem of security in the Internet takes the main place on the agenda only when there are certain negative consequences from the phenomena realized in the Internet space. One of these newest threats is cyberbullying - mass, usually anonymous harassment and humiliation in social networks of a specific individual. Unlike criticism or threats, in the case of cyberbullying, insults, humiliation and harassment occur not in relation to the specific actions of such a person (even if a specific action became the basis for the start of bullying), but in general, impersonally and generalized, in order to cause maximum psychological damage, deep emotional trauma.

Patterns of collaboration in mHealth: A network analysis

The use of mobile phones offers unique opportunities for information exchange and service provision within healthcare. Yet mHealth has historically been dominated by small scale, isolated initiatives. The main obstacle to scaling up mHealth projects is a lack of evidence on their performance, preventing the projects from receiving additional funding and limiting the scope for the development of best practices. In this context, an interesting potential form of successful innovation is the emergence of public-private networks. Despite sector fragmentation, there exists a network of public and private actors that could serve as a vehicle for knowledge sharing which is worth being examined. Through analysis of a sample of 196 projects involving 384 organizations, this study investigates patterns of collaboration within the mHealth ecosystem to capture the main trends in the structure and scope of the partnerships and examines the variables associated to project survival. Results show that projects implemented by at least one local partner are more likely to survive, as well as projects that involve a set of diverse (for-profit and not-for profit) organizations. Furthermore, the initiatives targeting communicable diseases, which are typically implemented in lower-income economies, are less likely to succeed.

STEM Teachers’ Professional Development through Scientist-Teacher-Students Partnership (STSP)

Teachers are one of the most fundamental sources for the latest scientific information. However, many feel that teachers lack sufficient knowledge and skills to play this role, particularly in STEM, as STEM is related to more than one discipline. This study explores Scientist-Teacher-Students’ Partnership (STSP) as a professional development programme to enhance teachers’ understanding and conceptualization of the cutting-edge STEM knowledge and real-life applications of the STEM concepts. This study employed a qualitative research methodology, and it involved nine science teachers from four secondary schools and ten scientists from a university situated in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Data were collected through observations made during activities and interviews. The collected data were analyzed using constant comparative data analysis techniques. Overall, the findings suggested that the tripartite collaboration brings educational benefits to all groups. From the perspective of teachers’ professional development, it was found that the partnership: (i) enhanced the teachers’ understanding of cutting-edge STEM knowledge; (ii) elevated their confidence and enthusiasm in STEM; and (iii) provide opportunities for information exchange and support through school-university networking. This study had promoted a more significant articulation of STSP as a mechanism for professional development in STEM education.

Особливості розвитку комунікаційного середовища промислового підприємства в сучасних умовах господарювання

The article considers theoretical and practical aspects of the process of formation of communications at an industrial enterprise. The main task of communication policy for enterprises is not only to provide the necessary information about goods and services, but also to create commitment and trust in the enterprise, to establish long-term relationships with customers. It is substantiated that in modern conditions of unstable external communication environment assess the situation, form goals and objectives, identify problems in the development of the enterprise and in general become a strategic resource for the management of an industrial enterprise. It is proved that in order to improve the system of communicative management at the enterprise it is necessary to clearly define the need for information of each structural subdivision and each workplace, to regulate information flows in accordance with the solved tasks; there must be interaction between managers and subordinates; organization of an effective feedback system; introduction of a system for collecting proposals; information messages of the enterprise administration; use of modern information technologies. A system of communicative management of an industrial enterprise is proposed, which provides the enterprise with opportunities for effective exchange of information between managers and employees to achieve the main goal of the organization.

УПРАВЛІННЯ ДЕБІТОРСЬКОЮ ЗАБОРГОВАНІСТЮ: СУЧАСНИЙ СТАН, ПРОБЛЕМИ, ПЕРСПЕКТИВИ, ІНФОРМАЦІЙНЕ ЗАБЕЗПЕЧЕННЯ

The article examines the current state of receivables management, identifies the main problems and suggests ways to overcome them, including accounting. The research methodology is based on general scientific methods of cognition: historical, logical, systemic, induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis; methods of statistical data processing, classification, grouping. Emphasis is placed on the growth of receivables and its consistently high share in the current assets of domestic enterprises over the past three years, which necessitates the development of measures to optimize its management. Modern software, including the subsystem "Accounting" "1C: Enterprise 8" does not contain a separate complex for accounting for receivables and the provision for doubtful debts. This determines the expediency of accrual of the provision for doubtful debts in the subsystem "Accounting" in the document "Debt Adjustment", which is designed to adjust the debt of mutual settlements with counterparties and is responsible for the function of debt write-off. It is proved that the process of receivables management in the conditions of digitalization can be optimized by integrating communication and network technologies. Integration processes provide the formation of a common information environment at the micro and macro levels with access to internal and external users of accounting information. It is advisable to integrate the function of information exchange with a single database of counterparties in modern software products for accounting automation. This will allow you to obtain information about counterparties, the existence of contractual relations, the state of receivables and the procedure for its repayment. The single database will provide an opportunity for information exchange between suppliers, customers, banking institutions, legal and factoring organizations, government agencies of the fiscal service and statistics. All these measures will optimize the process of managing receivables in terms of the use of information technology. The prospect of further research is to study the information support of receivables management in the application of blockchain technology.

Integrated Antenna for Receiving Satellite Navigation Signals with a Built-In Inertial Measuring Unit

The present article proposes an approach to ensuring the stable position of an active satellite navigation antenna relative to the inertial measuring unit when installing an inertial navigation system on a vehicle. The task of determining the coordinates of the navigation antenna relative to the inertial unit is accomplished by integrating the two elements into a single structure – an integrated antenna. When manufacturing an integrated antenna, the described approach allows the required coordinates to be determined under factory conditions. As well as explaining the operating principles of individual integrated antenna units, the article considers practical aspects of the integrated antenna’s use in inertial GNSS navigation systems. A specific consideration of the two-way digital information exchange between the antenna and computing device is presented. It is shown that the use of single-type cable modems provides the opportunity for a half-duplex exchange of information between the integrated antenna and the navigation receiver. Various uses of this information exchange to perform common navigation tasks are proposed. The independent measurement basis of the integrated antenna is noted. Approaches to acccounting for the orientation of this basis in the practical application of integrated antennas in single-antenna and multi-antenna inertial GNSS navigation systems are discussed.

BLENDED LEARNING, INNOVATIVE PATTERN IN TEACHERS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM OF IRAN

O desenvolvimento das TIC e a aplicação de novos instrumentos e conceitos por meio da comunicação on-line, oferecem oportunidades incomparáveis para troca rápida de informações e interações sociais para os alunos e causam expansão da informação, acesso fácil, rápido e de baixo custo. A instituição de ensino, como guardiã da educação e do treinamento, pode ser responsável pela produção de conhecimento e eficiência no processo educacional, aumentando assim o conhecimento de alunos e professores. Portanto, este estudo tem como objetivo combinar o aprendizado eletrônico com o aprendizado tradicional e fornecer aprendizado combinado no desenvolvimento profissional dos professores. Como a missão mais importante da educação é a capacitação de recursos humanos capaz e eficiente, recomenda-se o uso de estudos e experiências anteriores e, contando com a cultura e as fontes indígenas, deve responder a essa pergunta se o aprendizado combinado pode ser usado como um padrão inovador no desenvolvimento profissional dos professores no sistema educacional do Irã. Para responder a essa pergunta, a presente pesquisa foi realizada com o método descritivo-analítico. Agora, com o uso da moderna tecnologia da informação e comunicação, além dos tutoriais virtuais on-line, simultânea ou não-simultânea, é formado um novo tipo de treinamento, o Blended Learning, que é combinado às salas de aula tradicionais e refere-se ao território onde tradicional e eletrônica o aprendizado é usado tanto para treinar os alunos. Usando a Internet e os sistemas multimídia, uma variedade de ferramentas pode ser fornecida para melhorar a qualidade da aprendizagem e também o acesso rápido e fácil aos recursos de informação e, com atividades presenciais, podem ser preparados elementos de interação no treinamento. Assim, com a ajuda das tecnologias e da mídia digital e da criação de um currículo centrado no aluno, a concepção de casos, ensino, aprendizagem, avaliação e avaliação no ambiente de aprendizado eletrônico será otimizada. Uma das necessidades dos sistemas educacionais na era da informação é o cultivo de professores sábios e atenciosos em instituições de treinamento de professores que são competentes para resolver problemas modernos da educação e inovar soluções criativas. CROSS]BORDER SECURITY OF THE MEDITERRANEAN: AFRICAN AND ASIAN MIGRATION VECTORS

The current European migration crisis outlined the problems of cooperation between the EU countries in the search for solutions in emerging multilateral conflicts. Therefore, the purpose of this analysis is to identify the role of the regional information exchange network and cooperation in the field of illegal migration and to reduce cross-border crime between the countries of North Africa, Asia and the EU. Cooperation can include assistance with the authorities to implement national strategies to address the causes of illegal migration by encouraging local economic development and providing access to jobs for migrants and host communities, and to strengthen protection for the most vulnerable. It is extremely important to increase the capacity of the authorities in North Africa and Asia to combat illegal migration and human trafficking by strengthening their border surveillance systems. Other areas of support with EU countries include an inter-agency visit to the European Border Guard and the Coast Guard Agency in Warsaw, the designation of a contact point for Operation Sophia and the study of information exchange opportunities within the Seahorse Mediterraneo project. Key issues include changes in the legal and institutional framework, knowledge base, channels for legal migration, border control, prevention of illegal migration.

THE FUNCTIONING OF THE INTERNET MEDIA IN THE RUSSIAN MEDIA SPACE

Internet media occupy a leading place in the modern media system. This type of media is characterized by a number of advantages: efficiency, economy, usability. On the one hand, they embody the advantages of traditional media, but multimedia and interactive technologies provide new opportunities for information exchange, and audience expansion. The tendencies of the Internet publication Islam-Today.ru ("Islam Today") development, which is the federal information and analytical portal opened five years ago and now is one popular and authoritative religious-oriented news sites of the country, are considered. The estimation of functional, technological, and creative components in portal activity is given. Attention is drawn to the peculiarities on the implementation by the periodical of a number of media functions: direct organizational, culturological, advertising and reference, and recreational. E- HEALTH: THE MODERN INSTRUMENT FOR IMPROVING HEALTH SYSTEMS AND PROVIDING ACCESSIBLE AND HIGH-QUALITY HEALTH CARE

In the last two decades, information and communication technologies have significantly changed the development of relations in all sectors of public life. The modern information еra has provided unlimited opportunities for free exchange of information on all issues of public importance and the use of new technologies in order to raise the standard of living of members of society and their financial well-being. Information and communication technologies (ICT) are increasingly used in healthcare. A major factor in this trend is the extreme importance of information in medical practice. The way in which information about patients' health status is received and used by healthcare providers has a significant impact on the quality of care. The information itself, the selection and its completeness, becomes a decisive factor for the behavior of the participants in the national health systems - state bodies, medical establishments, professional companies, patient organizations and others.In this sense, the integration of information systems for electronic data interchange provides enormous opportunities for the rapid and efficient management of health information and hence for the more efficient operation of healthcare facilities and healthcare professionals. That's why, one of the most important tools for enhancing the effectiveness of any national health system is the construction of e-health (e-health). E-health is a valuable tool for improving national health systems and providing affordable and high quality health services. The successful construction and use of e-Health improves the communication environment and provides a number of benefits for the relevant national health system as well as for the whole community. In addition to building e-health, an effective healthcare system also requires the creation of an electronic health record for each patient, also referred to as electronic medical records. An electronic health record is a record that contains certain health information for one person in a format suitable for computer processing and use. Creating electronic health records is of great benefit to both patients and healthcare professionals. For example, the introduction of electronic medical records provides quick and easy access for physicians to patients' medical records, enabling them to track all important circumstances and changes in the patient's health status, and to tailor them to conduct specific diagnostic and healing activities.

Job satisfaction and related factors of nurses in university hospitals: Focusing on collaborative competency factors.

This study aimed to clarify the association between nurses' job satisfaction, interprofessional collaborative competency and other related factors in university hospitals in Japan. Enhancing a team's function in the university hospital setting requires strengthening each professional's competency: high-level professional competency leads to high job satisfaction. In 2014, self-administered questionnaires were sent to all nurses working at two university hospitals in Japan. A multivariate analysis of variance was conducted to evaluate the relationship between job satisfaction as the response variable and interprofessional collaborative competency and other variables as the independent variables. Data from 913 nurses were used in the present analysis (response rate: 60.4%). Two factors from the Chiba Interprofessional Competency Scale 29 (factor 1: attitudes and beliefs as a professional; factor 5: attitudes and behaviours that improve team cohesion) and opportunities for information exchange with other professionals outside the hospital had significant relationships with job satisfaction. Strengthening interprofessional collaborative competency and increasing opportunities for information exchange with professionals outside the hospital would improve nurses' job satisfaction in university hospitals. Interprofessional collaborative competency and opportunities for information exchange with other professionals are worth the attention of nursing administrators.

The virtual symbol world in the Homo educandus informational space miscellaneous

The urgency of the article is due to the trends that are clearly traceable today in the cultural and educational space of the higher school, namely, the significant changes in the ideological orientations of student youth that are associated with the emergence of "postmodern" consciousness. This situation is connected with the formation of the information society. The formation of the personality, its motives, values, behavioral skills occurs in the convergent space of the collision of the virtual and real world. The article presents the results of the analysis and examination of the functioning of the modern virtual symbolic world as a component of the informational and cultural-educational spaces of the individuals. The role of the virtual (computer) world and the tendencies of its influence on the cultural developmental factors of the development of Homo educancy are outlined. It was discovered that virtual (computer) reality as a component of the symbolic world offers a person wide opportunities for information exchange and communication in the "space of freedom", but at the same time there are traces when it is transformed on its simulacrum from the symbolic space that exists in real space and time. The simulacrum is deprived of value and sacred meanings, creating separate elements of perception and understanding of information. The authors substantiate the leading principles of the cultural orientation of the virtual world and identified the negative consequences of violating the axiological norms of the use of virtual reality. As a conclusion, a wide range of opportunities offered by the virtual symbolic world is proposed, accompanied by philosophical and pedagogical guidelines and norms based on human dimension. This will be facilitated by the search for approaches, principles, methods, techniques and means of strengthening the symbolic cultural potential of the virtual world that fills the modern information space of Homo educandus in order to maximally bring it closer to the cultural and educational space.

People use less information than they think to make up their minds

A world where information is abundant promises unprecedented opportunities for information exchange. Seven studies suggest these opportunities work better in theory than in practice: People fail to anticipate how quickly minds change, believing that they and others will evaluate more evidence before making up their minds than they and others actually do. From evaluating peers, marriage prospects, and political candidates to evaluating novel foods, goods, and services, people consume far less information than expected before deeming things good or bad. Accordingly, people acquire and share too much information in impression-formation contexts: People overvalue long-term trials, overpay for decision aids, and overwork to impress others, neglecting the speed at which conclusions will form. In today's information age, people may intuitively believe that exchanging ever-more information will foster better-informed opinions and perspectives-but much of this information may be lost on minds long made up.

International Council Report: Strengthening AWWA's Global Connections

This report from the AWWA International Council summarizes activities in some of the countries in which the council is pursuing stronger relationships and opportunities for information exchange.

Congress report: A report of the 16th Congress of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine.

The 16th Congress of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine was held from March 7–9, 2017, at Sendai International Center (Sendai city). The theme of this congress was “the renaissance of regenerative medicine” and it was an opportunity for information exchange between industry-leading researchers, doctors/dentists, and industry professionals. The objectives of the congress were to provide a place to promote and develop research in regenerative medicine. Numerous topics were covered in the 1 presidential lecture, 1 congress chair's lecture, 3 special lectures, the special symposia (2 sessions, 10 topics), symposia (41 sessions, 227 topics), evening symposia (3 sessions, 12 topics), joint symposium with another society (1 session, 4 topics), and presentations covering regular presentations including distinct presentations (oral presentations, 2 sessions, 8 topics), oral presentations (65 sessions, 383 topics), and poster presentations (44 sessions, 339 topics). There were co-organized seminars including 31 sessions for co-organized luncheon seminars, 2 sessions for co-organized evening seminars, and an up-to-date technology introduction corner, which hosted 153 organizations. Additionally, 4 special seminars and 3 hands-on training programs were hosted as part of the hands-on learning program for high school students during the congress. There were 3527 participants, and the event was a great success.

Progress and challenges in short- to medium-range coupled prediction

The availability of GODAE Oceanview-type ocean forecast systems provides the opportunity to develop high-resolution, short- to medium-range coupled prediction systems. Several groups have undertaken the first experiments based on relatively unsophisticated approaches. Progress is being driven at the institutional level targeting a range of applications that represent their respective national interests with clear overlaps and opportunities for information exchange and collaboration. The applications include forecasting of the general circulation, hurricanes, extra-tropical storms, high-latitude weather and coastal air–sea interaction. In some cases, research has moved beyond case and sensitivity studies to controlled experiments to obtain statistically significant metrics and operational predictions.
