Motivation in Preschool Children: The Predictive Effect of Anxiety Level

This study aimed to examine the relationship between motivation levels and anxiety levels of preschool children. Relational Screening Model was used in the research. The sample of the study consists of 48-72 months old children attending kindergartens and nursery classes of official primary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the central districts of Palandöken and Yakutiye in Erzurum province in the fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year. Emergency Online Teaching and COVID-19: Teachers’ Use and Integration of Computer Technologies

The aim of the research was to determine the use of computer technologies and the status of integration into lessons during online teaching by class teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research used a descriptive survey model. The study group for the research comprised 464 class teachers employed in official primary schools linked to the Ministry of National Education in Rize province. Two scales were used in the research; the Technology Integration Self-Efficacy Scale and the Teachers’ Information and Communication Technologies Integration Approach Scale. Data were analyzed with the t test, ANOVA and correlation test. Male teachers were determined to have higher use of computer technologies and higher levels of ability to integrate it into lessons compared to female teachers. Though there was no difference in use of technology levels of teachers, their levels of ability to integrate technology into lessons differed according to seniority. The use of computer technology by teachers and levels of ability to integrate into lessons did not differ according to receiving in-service training related to technology and educational status. Teachers’ use of technology and levels of ability to integrate into lessons differed according to the hours of lessons given using technology. As the levels of use of education technology by class teachers increased, their levels of ability to integrate computer technology into lessons also increased.

The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between classroom management skills and organizational identification levels of classroom teachers working in primary schools. The study was designed according to the relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 120 teachers selected by using random sampling method among the primary school teachers working in the official primary schools in Gaziantep province Nizip district. In the research, data were collected through the "Classroom Management Scale" and the "Organizational Identification Scale". Classroom management skills and organizational identification levels of classroom teachers were determined according to the variables of gender, marital status, age, professional seniority and educational status according to the perceptions of the participants, and the relationship between the variables was tried to be revealed. Classroom management skills of classroom teachers were found at the level of "often", while their organizational identification perceptions were at the level of "agree". The findings were discussed on the basis of the relevant literature and recommendations were made.

Okul Yöneticilerin Kurumsal İmaj Algılarının Örgütsel Özdeşleşme Düzeylerine Etkisine İlişkin Veri Analizinin ve Araştırma Bulgularının İncelenmesi

In this research, it is aimed to examine the data analysis and research findings related to the effect of school administrators' perceptions of corporate image on organizational identification levels. In this research on the effect of school administrators' perceptions of corporate image on organizational identification levels, the survey method was used to collect data in parallel with performing data analysis. The sample of the research consists of 40 school administrators selected by random sample who worked in official primary schools of Bahçelievler district of Istanbul province in the 2016-2017 academic year in which the research was conducted. According to the findings of the research, school administrators' perceptions of corporate image are medium and their organizational identification levels are high. With the perception of corporate image and corporate image the relationship between organizational identification organizational identification levels of correlation between weak, has a significant positive correlation (R=0.344, p=0,030<0.05). The result was obtained that there was a weak but positively significant relationship. A regression analysis to determine the relationship of cause and effect between corporate image and organizational identification was found to be statistically significant (F=6,235; p=0,017 for<0.05). As a determinant of the level of organizational identification, it was found that its relationship with corporate image variables (explanatory power) was weak (R2=0.118). The level of corporate image of managers increases the level of organizational identification (ß=0.905). Organizational identification levels of school administrators with perceptions of corporate image; it was concluded that there was no significant difference according to seniority year, educational status, marital status and age. The perceptions of corporate image of those who had 5 years of study at school and less increased more than those who had 5 years and more. On the other hand, there was no statistical significance of organizational identification levels according to the variable of the working year at school. In accordance with the scientific statistical data obtained, suggestions were made to researchers and senior Ministry of Education (Ministry of National Education) managers for scientific studies.

In the research, the data were collected through the “Organizational Image Scale”, “Organizational Commitment Scale” and the personal information form. To analyze the data “arithmetic mean and standard deviation, one-way ANOVA, independent samples t-test, correlation analysis and regression analysis techniques were used. When the research findings are examined, the perceptions of classroom teachers about the entire dimension of the organizational image scale are at a “high” level. Teachers' perceptions of organizational commitment are at the “medium” level in all dimensions of the scale. A positive and moderate relationship was found between classroom teachers' perceptions of organizational image and perceptions of organizational Decency. At the same time, it is observed that teachers' perceptions of organizational image significantly predict their organizational commitment. It can be stated that an increase of one unit in teachers' organizational image perception can increase teachers' organizational commitment by 0.437. Determining the Opinions of Classroom Teachers and Classroom Teacher Candidates Regarding the Education They Received Before Service

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the contributions of the educational activities carried out in the primary school teaching undergraduate program in preparation for the profession, the problems encountered and potential solution. ‎This research is a qualitative study based on case study design. An easily accessible sampling technique was used in determining the cohortof the study. The working group consists of classroom teachers who work in official primary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education and students who study in classroom teaching in the 4th grade in the spring semester of the 2019-2020 academic year. 21 teachers and 36 teacher candidates participated in the study. The research data were obtained using a semi-structured interview form. Descriptive analysis was used in dataprocessing. In the research, it was concluded that the practices in classes and schools, extracurricular activities, studies for using instructional technologies, knowledge and skills about school-family cooperation and school management are not sufficient in terms of popularizing and practicing the profession. Based on these results, suggestions were made to choose teachers from among those who like the profession, to include more applied studies in terms of gaining skills, to use teaching technologies more in faculties, to increase the number and duration of school applications.

AN INVESTIGATION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CHILDREN'S CREATIVITY LEVELS AND SELF-PERCEPTIONS OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN

Bu araştırma, okul öncesi eğitimi alan 48-72 aylık çocukların yaratıcılık düzeyleri ile benlik algıları arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Bu kapsamda araştırma, 2018-2019 eğitim öğretim yılı içerisinde İstanbul ili Maltepe ilçesindeki resmi ilköğretim okullarının anasınıflarına devam eden 48-72 aylık 90 çocuk (53 kız, 37 erkek) ile yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada veri toplamak amacıyla; “Hibrit Yaratıcılık Testi” ve “Demoluin Çocuklar İçin Benlik Algısı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre; yaratıcılık tamamlama alt boyutu artıkça benlik algısı azalmaktadır. Araştırmada kız çocukları erkek çocuklarından yaratıcılığın akıcılık, süreklilik ile yeni eleman ekleme alt boyutlarında ve toplam benlik algısı ve öz saygı alt boyutunda daha iyi performans göstermiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular ışığında öneriler getirilmiştir.

Thoughts Behaviors of Parents on Motivating Their Children Aged 4-6 for Music

The aim of this study is to identify the thoughts and behaviors of parents in motivating their children aged 4-6 for music, and for a hobby or profession related to music.While collecting the qualitative data for the study, literature review model has been used. For the collection of the quantitative data, on the other hand, a questionnaire has been applied to the parents of children. Collected data has been processed on SPSS and displayed in tables consisting of frequency (n) and percentage (%) values.Population of the research consists of the parents of children enrolled to the preschools affiliated to the official primary schools of Ministry of Education, located in the center of Ankara. The sample of the research, on the other hand, consists of 150 parents of children aged 4-6, who were enrolled to a total of 10 official preschool education institutions in the 2017-2018 school year, affiliated to the Ministry of Education and located in in the center of Ankara. The sample group has been determined through random sampling method. Findings of the study mainly reveal that; even though the parents encourage their children to listen to music, sing and engage in music most of the time, they do not want their children to choose a profession related to this field.

Okul Öncesi Eğitim Öğretmenlerinin Okul Yönetimine Katılımlarının İncelenmesi

The purpose of this study is examining the views and suggestions of the school principals and pre-school education teachers about participation in the school management. Qualitative research method has been used in this study. The participants of the research are 25 school principal and 30 pre-school education teacher working in official primary schools in Cekmekoy-Istanbul.The views of the teachers and the principals participated in the research have been obtained by the help of semi-structured interview form on a volunteer basis. As a result of the examination, it has been concluded that pre-school education teachers working in the primary schools are insufficient of participation in the school management. According to the findings of the research, the pre-school teachers’ participation in the school management should be encouraged and their realm of authority should be extended. Also the career development of pre-school education teachers should be supported and they should be incentivized to take master degree. It has been concluded that the teachers who graduated from the pre-school teaching department should be in the managerial staff of the primary schools.

OKUL ÖNCESİ SOSYAL DEĞERLER KAZANIMI ÖLÇEĞİNİN GELİŞTİRİLMESİ

Bu araştırma “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği”nin geliştirilmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği”nin geliştirilmesinde metodolojik araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği”nin geçerlik güvenirlik çalışması; Ankara ili, merkez ilçelerindeki Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı’na bağlı resmi ilköğretim okulları bünyesinde bulunan anasınıflarına devam eden 200 çocuk ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği”nin test tekrar test güvenirliği ise araştırmaya katılan 200 çocuk arasından tesadüfü olarak belirlenen 60 çocuk ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak; anasınıfına devam eden çocukların sahip olduğu sosyal değerleri belirlemek amacı ile araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği” ve verilen cevapların kaydedilmesi için “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği Cevap Formu” kullanılmıştır. “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği”nin geçerlik kapsamında; kapsam geçerliliği ve yapı geçerliği analizleri, güvenirlik kapsamında ise; test-tekrar test kararlılık ve iç tutarlılık anlamında Kuder Richardson-20 KR-20 güvenirlik katsayıları hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular sonucunda; beş alt boyut ve 19 maddeden oluşan “Okul Öncesi Sosyal Değerler Kazanımı Ölçeği”nin, anasınıfına devam eden çocukların sahip oldukları sosyal değerleri belirlemede geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu sonuçlar doğrultusunda; eğitimcilere ve araştırmacılara yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur

The problems that the classroom teachers working in villages and county towns confront in educational inspection and their opinions concerning the effect of these problems on their performance

The purpose of this research is to establish that the problems of education supervision of the class teachers working in the village and township centre in Denizli and their opinions about these problems affect their performance. 321 class teachers working in official primary schools in townships of Denizli and 272 class teachers working in official primary schools in villages of Denizli are chosen with rational cluster sampling method in order to apply data collection tool. Being confronted with the degree of confronting the problem, Alpha consistency coefficient is 0.89 and the effect of problem on performance is 0.91. The most important of the all problems of education supervision of the class teachers working in the village and township centre is: ‘’I abstain from saying to the supervisors my attributes that must be improved professionally ‘’. Mathematics Special Content Competencies of Elementary School Teachers

According to the results of national and international level examinations, the achievement of students in Turkey in mathematics is low. Elementary school teachers play a significant role in the education of students. Elementary school teachers differ from other teachers in that they are responsible for teaching more than one subject. In determining the competencies and performance indicators of elementary school teachers, the Ministry of National Education has paid regard to the common ground and integrating characteristics of the subjects rather than the special content knowledge of each subject. However, owing to the fact that each subject taught by the elementary school teachers necessitates different disciplines and approaches, it is also essential to determine the special content competencies related to the subjects being taught. The objective of this study is to analyze the opinions of elementary school teachers on their mathematical special content competencies. The study group consists of 72 elementary school teachers who are employed in official primary schools in Manisa. The data were collected through questionnaires. The collected raw data were analyzed by content analysis. Mathematics special content competencies of elementary school teachers were grouped under three main categories. These themes are mathematics special content knowledge, knowledge about mathematics teaching and learning as well as confidence, attitude and values regarding mathematics. Teachers’ opinions particularly underline the significance of field content knowledge, while laying less weight on associating the program content with daily life and with other subjects. It is observed that the teachers are aware of the information in the written sources; however, they are not fully aware of the process of putting the program content into practice, nor their skills. Some teachers are aware of the fact that it is important to teach mathematics topics and associate them with life, rather than possessing knowledge about mathematics special content at an advanced level. Furthermore, little emphasis is given to “utilizing appropriate measurement-evaluation methods”. A great majority of teachers stress keeping the students active and teaching the subject by taking the students’ level into account; however, only few make reference to the importance of treating students equally and knowing about the differences among students.

Sufficiency Levels of Primary Schools According to Effective School Criteria (Şanliurfa Province Sample)

Abstract The aim of this research is to determine the level of sufficient effective school properties for primary schools which are located in Sanliurfa province according to the views of the teachers. In this research, the scanning model has been used. The universe of the study consists of the teachers in the official primary schools which are located in the center of Sanliurfa province in the academic year 2011-2012 and 510 teachers in these official primary schools form the sample of this study. In the research, data have been collected through “Effective School Scale” which has been improved by Sisman (2006). The scale consists of 56 items and six dimensions; “school director”, “teacher”, “student”, “school program and education process”, “school culture and its environment” and “the school environment and parent”. The Views of Teachers on Primary School Program's Implementation and Quality of Assessment and Evaluation Component

In this study; the process of assessment and evaluation of primary school programs have been examined according to the views of teachers. The universe of the study consists of the teachers in the official primary schools which are located in the center of Şanlıurfa province in the academic year 2011-2012 and 407 teachers in these official primary schools form the sample of this study. In data analysis, percent, frequency and arithmetic mean are used. The obtained data have been analysed and interpreted by using statistical techniques on the computer.

School administrators’ opinions about competencies of inspectors of primary school

It seems significant for proper operation of control system to determine primary school administrators’ opinions regarding the competencies of inspectors of primary schools who supervise them. The purpose of this study is to determine school administrators’ opinions regarding the competencies of inspectors of primary school. The population of the study consists of school administrators in official primary schools in Tokat during the school year 2007–2008. 131 primary schools and 390 school administrators were determined through cluster sampling, 229 of school administrators participated in the study and 143 of them expressed their opinions regarding the competencies of inspectors of primary school. The study used case study, one of qualitative research models, and data were analyzed through descriptive analysis. School administrators’ opinions about the competencies of inspectors of primary school were arranged in themes. In addition, the opinions were coded in accordance with their owners and their frequencies were calculated. It has been concluded that school administrators’ opinions regarding the competencies of inspectors are counseling-oriented rather than being control-based and they are mostly towards developing in-service educational activities. In accordance with these conclusions, it has been recommended that competency-based programs should be prioritized in inspectors’ in-service educational activities, and activities should be arranged in order to develop their humanistic abilities as well as the knowledge about regulations.

An Exploration of Primary School Educational Software from the Ministry of Education of Mexico

This article forms part of an extensive investigation, the general purpose of which is to analyze and evaluate educational software (ESW) and its use in Mexican schools. The study reported here was carried out from March 1995 to March 1996 in official primary schools participating in the Educational Computing Program of the Ministry of Public Education (Secretaria de Educación Publica or SEP) of the state of Puebla. The article reports on the exploratory evaluation study, which analyzed 24 programs to determine the extent to which they promote the development of thinking skills; using instruments designed to evaluate (a) the structure of the ESW, (b) the relationship of child to the ESW, (c) the actions of the teacher using the ESW in the classroom, and (d) the findings of the study.
