DEVELOPMENT OF AN APPLICATION FOR ASSESSING PUBLIC RADIATION EXPOSURE WHEN LIVING AND CARRYING OUT ANY ACTIVITIES AT THE SEMIPALATINSK TEST SITE

The article presents an overview of capabilities of developed software ‘Assessment of public radiation exposure when living and carrying out any activities at the Semipalatinsk Test Site’ and quoted the algorithm to calculate public individual annual effective exposure doses from the major dose-forming man-made radionuclides at the test site (137Cs, 90Sr, 239+240Pu, 241Am, 3H). The software developed takes into account such behavior scenario as a farmer engaged in subsistence farming and living in the study area together with his family members. The software was developed for Windows operating system and implemented in the development framework of cross-platform applications Embarcadero Delphi XE7 Professional in the object-oriented programming language Object Pascal.

Mathematical Modeling and Software for Calculating Regimes of Galvanic Wastewater Purification from Heavy and Nonferrous Metals in Devices with Flow-Through Three-Dimensional Electrodes

The paper briefly discusses progressive technologies of wastewater treatment from ions of heavy and nonferrous metals of industrial and small enterprises of urban agglomerations. An analysis of the efficiency of three-dimensional flow-through electrodes for wastewater treatment of harmful reagents is given. The mathematical models of electrochemical processes in three-dimensional flow-through electrodes as applied to extract metals from the solutions of galvanochemical industries are presented. The description of the set of programs developed in the programming language Object Pascal for computational experiments according to the obtained mathematical models is given. Numerical solution of scientific problem of practical importance has been obtained by using the program complex. A good correspondence between the results of calculations and experiments is shown.

The Method of Computer-Aided Design of a Bread Composition with Regard to Biomedical Requirements

A method for efficient software implementation of bread optimized multicomponent mixtures has been developed. These polycomposite mixtures have a chemical composition that meets the modern physiological standards of nutrition for the elderly people. To implement the developed algorithm a high-level programming language Object Pascal was used using the IDE Borland Delphi 7.0. An unconventional raw material was selected, which allows to provide necessary requirements to the quality indicators of the finished bread in all modeled mixtures. Modeling the composition of flour mixtures for gerodietic nutrition using the software made it possible to obtain compositions with a specific ratio of prescripted components, balanced in accordance with the intended purpose.

Особенности математического моделирования древесного полимер-песчаного композита

This article describes a technique for modeling of wood polymer-sandy composite. Interface input form of initial data for modeling; differential equations underlying the mathematical model are presented. To solve the system of differential and algebraic equations computer program "Program to simulate the struc-ture and mechanical properties of wood polymer-sandy composite" is developed. The program, developed in the environment of Borland Delphi 7.0, programming language Object Pascal, is intended for modeling the mechanical behavior of wood polymer-sandy composite of given composition.

Using powerdomains to generalize relational databases

Much of relational algebra and the underlying principles of relational database design have a simple representation in the theory of domains that is traditionally used in the denotational semantics of programming languages. By investigating the possible orderings on powerdomains that are well known in the study of nondeterminism and concurrency it is possible to show that many of the ideas in relational databases apply to structures that are much more general than relations. This also suggests a method of representing database objects as typed objects in programming languages. In this paper we show how operations such as natural join and projection—which are fundamental to relational database design—can be generalized, and we use this generalized framework to give characterizations of several relational database concepts including functional dependencies and universal relations. All of these have a simple-minded semantics in terms of the underlying domains, which can be thought of as domains of partial descriptions of “real-world” objects. We also discuss the applicability of relational database theory to nonrelational structures such as records with variants, higher-order relations, recursive structures and other ordered spaces.

Advanced object oriented architectures

The principle of having a processor manipulate the states of single memory words in a word-at-a-time fashion causes an ‘intellectual bottleneck’ for the programmer as well as a physical, performance limiting bottleneck for the executing machine. Functional programming mitigates the intellectual but not the physical bottleneck. The intellectual bottleneck problem can also be resolved within the framework of procedural programming by introducing into an appropriate programming language objects of data structure types as the entities to be manipulated. In order to also resolve the physical bottleneck problem, appropriate data structure objects should exist already at the hardware level as objects of machine data structure types that are recognized and manipulated by the machine. This approach allows the computer to deal efficiently with the parallelism inherent in data structure objects. In the paper, appropriate, generic machine data structure types are introduced, to provide the basis for the efficient representation and processing of arbitrary, application-oriented data types. The hardware representation of the machine data structure type is based upon the use of descriptor information. The resulting computer architecture is free of the “von Neumann bottleneck”, conceptually as well as physically.

An Interpretability Approach to the Theory of Abstract Data Types1

In this paper, similarly to [1,4,17,20,21,29,30], abstract data types are understood as formalized many-sorted theories based on algorithmic languages (e.g. a language of algorithmic logic [2,16] or a language of dynamic logic [11,29]). Operations on data types, leading from (more) primitive types to compound types, are defined in terms of the interpretability theory (cf. Szczerba [25]). The approach proposed here to defining new types accords with the methods of introducing new classes of objects in programming languages like Simula 67, Pascal, Loglan, Ada.

Values and objects in programming languages

Abstract : The terms value-oriented and object-oriented are used to describe both programming languages and programming styles. This paper will describe the differences between values and objects and to show that their proper discrimination can be a valuable aid to conquering program complexity. The first section will show that values amount to timeless abstractions for which the concepts of updating, sharing and instantiation have no meaning. The second section will show that objects exist in time and, hence, can be created, destroyed, copied, shared and updated. The third section shows that proper discrimination of these concepts in programming languages will clarify problems such as the role of state in functional programming. The paper concludes by demonstrating the use of the value/object distinction as a tool for program organization. (Author)
