Análise Crítica das Pesquisas Recentes sobre as Tecnologias de Objetos de Aprendizagem e Ambientes Virtuais de Aprendizagem

This paper presents the results of a survey about recent researches on learning environments, and learning objects technologies. The survey maps the scientific production on these technologies, which were published in the major events, and journals of the interdisciplinary area of Computers and Education in Brazil, and Latin America, during the years 2008 to 2011. Were included events like SBIE, WIE, LACLO, and TISE, as well as RBIE, and RENOTE journals. The mapping provided the basis for a critical analysis of the evolutionary process and the current status of this research. In quantitative terms, the analysis took into account the distribution of works in the technical, and pedagogical dimensions related to learning objects and learning environments technologies. The quantitative analysis was followed by a depth analysis, of qualitative nature, focused on the most representative works involving the combined use of both technologies.

Towards a UML Profile to Relational Database Modeling

Database management systems provide a mechanism that enables software application systems to manipulate data from a database. Although object-oriented technology is widely used in the development of software systems, relational database management systems remain the dominant database technology. Database modeling enables software developers to design the database during the system analysis and design phase; however, most approaches focus only on designing database schemas, without considering models for the retrieval of data. A comprehensive database model would provide a solid base on which software developers could organize data for storage and retrieval. Unified modeling language (UML) is a gene ral purpose modeling notation and this paper proposes a UML profile for modeling database retrieval to overcome the inadequacie s found in current methods. The proposed model provides views of the database outlining query operations to enable the automatic generation of more comprehensive code in the model-driven development of enterprise information systems. We include examples to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed method and its advantages over existing database modeling methods.

MVx-modeling: A Modeling Environment for Embedded Software Design of Heterogeneous MPSoC

Owing to the complexity and flexibility in heterogeneous multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) architecture, parallel programming has become a tough and urgent problem to solve. Model-based development methodology improves the software production efficiency and the reliability. Some model development tools such as Simulink and Rhapsody are widely applied in the development of embedded applications. But they do not satisfy the characteristics of embedded heterogeneous multi-core software. Thus developing a general modeling environment for model-based software design is necessary and meaningful. This paper designed and implemented a graphical modeling platform MVx-modeling by using the object-oriented programming technology and Visual C#.NET development language. Practical application shows MVx-modeling platform easy-to-use and efficient. It speeds embedded application development and lowers software costs for heterogeneous MPSoC. Study on Formal Information Fusion Framework with Object-oriented Technology

The formal approach to software development is considered to be a good way to develop reliable and high quality software and a graphical tool using object-oriented technology has strong intuitive in the description of software requirements. In this study, a new formal information fusion framework is presented based on formal approach and object-oriented thoughts. The information fusion model in the proposed framework consists of two parts: specification library and specification library management system. Herein, the first part enhances system reliability, consistency and reusability. As to the management system, its function is to organize, manage, store, search and insert for specification library. Lastly, the study introduces how to use the framework to detect image edge.

An Improvement of IED Configuration Tool and Modeling for Transformer Condition Monitoring IED

This paper analyzes the object-oriented modeling technology of IEC 61850 standard and the modeling steps of condition monitoring intelligent electronic devices (IED). Aiming at the problem of the existing configuration tools poor scalability for the IEC 61850 standard, a new design method of the IED configuration tool is brought up. Information model of transformer condition monitoring IED is established including logical device (LD), logical node (LN), data object (DO), data attribute (DA), dataset and report control block with the method mentioned above, and described with substation configuration description language.

Generation of sidelobe-free optical vortices utilizing object-oriented computer generated holograms

A novel approach for producing sidelobe-free optical vortices is proposed, for the first time, utilizing object-oriented computer generated holograms (CGH). By conjugate-symmetrically extending the complex amplitude of any desired optical vortices prior to performing the discrete Fourier transform, the resulting real-valued number profile is encoded into an object-oriented CGH without having conventional forked-shaped fringes. On the basis of the CGH generated, use is first made of numerical simulations to reconstruct optical vortices with spiral phase profiles. Detailed experimental measurements employing a computer-controlled spatial light modulator and extensive numerical simulations are undertaken to verify the proposed technique. Excellent agreements between numerical simulations and experimental measurements are observed. Results show that optical vortices with a single primary intensity ring are generated without the occurrence of any sidelobes in the periphery for absolute values of topological charges as large as 20.

Development of a Remote Sensing-Based Method to Map Likelihood of Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) Presence in Urban Areas

Common Ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia) is a plant that constitutes an important and growing public health concern worldwide as it is probably expanding with climate change, which brings forward the need for improved mapping tools. Our final purpose is to operationalize the use of optical remote sensing for the automated mapping and surveillance of Ambrosia artemisiifolia. Analyses considering the probable spectral instability originating from the variability of the urban landscape and from that of sensors characteristics were developed. Worldview 2, Rapid Eye and SPOT 4 HRVIR sensors were used together with geolocalized surveys of Common Ragweed in Montreal and Valleyfield (Quebec, Canada). Images were standardized and various derivatives variables such as multiple vegetation indexes were created. Spectral confusion, statistical analyses, object-oriented technology and Fuzzy-logic functions were used to develop predictive risks maps of Common Ragweed potential presence. The results showed that the green bands (510-590 nm) of higher spatial resolutions sensors had a higher potential to cope with spectral confusions and changing landscape characteristics and to predict the likelihood of Ambrosia artemisiifolia presence with a recurrent stability. The good agreement between observed and predicted ragweed revealed an important potential for the operationalization of this method.

MODELING AND SIMULATION OF VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT SYSTEM OF COMPLEX COALMINE USING MULTI-AGENT TECHNOLOGY

Investigating and exploring new methods of coal-mining environment has become a new project to resolve the safety of mine production. The virtual reality technology provides new ways and ideas for the safety of mine production, and the intelligence of the virtual environment is enhanced as the multi-agent is applied. Based on multi-agent technology and the investigation of the modeling approach of the virtual environment of the complex coal mine, a three-layer architecture model and the formalization of the virtual environment of the complex coal mine were presented. The model is composed of data layer, multi-agent layer and human-machine interface layer. The model of the virtual miner with decision ability is built and is applied to the virtual environment, which is integrated with the perception, information processing, learning, behavior, planning, decision-making, and knowledge base and so on, and the model can generate lifelike personification behavior. Then, the consistency protocols of the multi-agent system of the virtual environment of the complex coal mine were analysised, and the reasons of the consistency formation of the safety operation of the multi-agent in the virtual environment were descripted. Finally, the control of the complex behavior of the virtual miners agent and interactive simulation of multi-agent in the coalmine virtual environment were realized in PC using the object-oriented technology. The research in this paper has important significance to safe production of mine, the relevant research achievements can be applied to other mining areas such as non-ferrous, metallurgy and so on.

Models and frameworks: a synergistic association for developing component-based applications.

The use of frameworks and components has been shown to be effective in improving software productivity and quality. However, the results in terms of reuse and standardization show a dearth of portability either of designs or of component-based implementations. This paper, which is based on the model driven software development paradigm, presents an approach that separates the description of component-based applications from their possible implementations for different platforms. This separation is supported by automatic integration of the code obtained from the input models into frameworks implemented using object-oriented technology. Thus, the approach combines the benefits of modeling applications from a higher level of abstraction than objects, with the higher levels of code reuse provided by frameworks. In order to illustrate the benefits of the proposed approach, two representative case studies that use both an existing framework and an ad hoc framework, are described. Finally, our approach is compared with other alternatives in terms of the cost of software development.

Research on UAV Flight Dynamic Simulation Model Based on Multi-Agent

Simulation technology has been more and more important in the military weapon system. Simulation system has important research and application value. Flying simulation technology plays an important role in design and training period in the UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) system. The multi-agent and object-oriented technology is adopted in the designing of the UAV flying simulator. The flying simulation system is established through three-layer framework which is based on delamination and modularization method. The delamination and modularization method can provide us a new idea in designing of the high efficiency simulator.

Clinical application of DNA ploidy to cervical cancer screening: A review.

Screening for cervical cancer with DNA ploidy assessment by automated quantitative image cytometry has spread throughout China over the past decade and now an estimated 1 million tests per year are done there. Compared to conventional liquid based cytology, DNA ploidy has competitive accuracy with much higher throughput per technician. DNA ploidy has the enormous advantage that it is an objective technology that can be taught in typically 2 or 3 wk, unlike qualitative cytology, and so it can enable screening in places that lack sufficient qualified cytotechnologists and cytopathologists for conventional cytology. Most papers on experience with application of the technology to cervical cancer screening over the past decade were published in the Chinese language. This review aims to provide a consistent framework for analysis of screening data and to summarize some of the work published from 2005 to the end of 2013. Of particular interest are a few studies comparing DNA ploidy with testing for high risk human papilloma virus (hrHPV) which suggest that DNA ploidy is at least equivalent, easier and less expensive than hrHPV testing. There may also be patient management benefits to combining hrHPV testing with DNA ploidy. Some knowledge gaps are identified and some suggestions are made for future research directions.

Analytical Comparison of Aspectized Service Oriented and Distributed Objects

Distributed Object Computing is a paradigm that allows objects to be distributed across a heterogeneous network and allows each of the components to interoperate as a unified whole. The evolution of a revolutionary programming paradigm that promises to have a profound effect on the way we interact with computers, people and places is well known as Aspect Oriented Programming. Middleware platforms, such as RMI, CORBA, DCOM, J2EE and .NET platform, offer abstractions for the complex distributed environment. Distributed middleware are difficult to build and implement because the distributed frameworks impose a large code overhead due to the specific distributed systems programming conventions. In this paper we implement Aspects with distributed objects technologies and web services and compare the implementation behavior of distributed systems’ programming concepts in comparison to the design of web services based distributed middleware framework. The research challenge involves firstly removing crosscutting concerns by modularizing into separate units named Aspects and secondly implementation and comparison of the three major technologies in the field of distributed systems RMI, CORBA and Web Services.

Numerical Simulation of Fluid-Structure Interaction with Water Hammer in a Vertical Penstock Subjected to High Water Head

The theoretical model of weakly compressible coupling water hammer was established and a FSI program code was developed for coupled weakly compressible water with penstock movement. It combines the weakly compressible water source CFD code and FEM shell element code. The shell element based on orthogonal curvilinear coordinates was completed in FEAP. Meanwhile, the turbulence model in OpenFoam class library was called by using object-oriented technology. This code takes into account both the weak compressibility of water and fluid turbulence characteristics. Using this code, a fluid structure interaction analysis with water hammer was completed. The numerical results agree well with the field test results.

The Study of Knowledge-Based Active Learning Grid Operation Experience

By using of the object-oriented technology and the knowledge representation of the production rule, this paper classifies the operation experience of grid according to the nature and builds a power grid operation experience knowledge base with active learning capability. Through application of Bayesian classifier model based on weight, it classifies the statistical data and identifies the semantic, to realize the exchange between the knowledge base and the users feedback. Using the powerful learning ability of knowledge base, it can make the operation experience knowledge base optimize its knowledge system structure while exchanging with users feedback, so that it can go on refining the operation experience base of the grid. This method can provide technical support and improve the quality of the stuff, as well as strengthen the security and stability of the grid.

Modeling and Design of Data Cube for Electricity Bill Deposit System

to evolution of object-oriented technology, many of the software industries are converting old structured base database into the object oriented database. It is observed from the literature that limited research work is available for the object-oriented database and a well-known modeling language i.e. Unified Modeling Language is not much applied in the field of the object-oriented database, therefore, present work deals with the modeling of a database of a real case study of the electricity bill deposit system of electricity supply to the different houses of various localities of a city. As the size of database grows then it is very difficult to find the desired record from the database and also to keep the record for future use, therefore, a database cube designing technique is used for storing the three important fields of a database and one can get the desired information from the data cube. Sample queries are also performed for validating the designed UML class diagram for electricity billing system.

Distributed Customer Service Management for Internet of Things

It extends the network management mode of CSM, and offers a service-oriented management interface between customers and service providers. Extends some provider’s service management towards the customers and enables customers to monitor and control information about service-specific QoS parameters. Logical network, a hierarchical presentation of abstract network is presented; the definition, attribute, structure and computing method of the logic network is discussed. The presentation and access of CSM-MIB which is implemented using distributed objects is completed; by taking advantage of logical network, the abstract customized views of physical network is built and the management functionalities of agreement, assignment, performance monitoring and reporting of CSM are implemented. Practice in implementing CSM system indicates that it is a reasonable method to construct CSM system using distributed object technology. Service Management is a developing new network management paradigm. At current stage, the applied CSM target concentrates on IP connection service.

In dealing with high-resolution remote sensing image auto-identify classification, the traditional pixel-based and spectral statistical characteristics classification technology or method has some insurmountable difficulties. In this paper, object-oriented image analysis method is by application, the auto-identify classification rules are set up based the different remote sensing image characteristics that included such as spectral, texture, scale and so on. As a case study, a petroleum reserve base auto-identify classification is selected as an example and the target is identified, in a better effective result by applications of the object-oriented method. The result appraising analysis indicates that object-oriented classification method to identify automatically high-resolution remote sensing images pattern object can get a high precision. The method of object-oriented has a widely potential application for remote sensing image automatic-identify classification in times to come.
