Students’ Perception on the Application of Merdeka Curriculum

This research aimes to find out the perceptions of Senior high school students and their reasons for applying Merdeka Curriculum in English subjects. In completing this qualitative research, the researcher adopted a phenomenological case study approach. Data was collected by distributing questioners to respondents and conducting in-depth interviews with selected students. The data was found by researchers were processed using thematic analysis techniques. This research involved senior high school students from 5 different schools in Medan, North Sumatra, totaling 38 students as respondents. From this study, researchers found five perceptions related to the application of the Merdeka Curriculum in English language subjects, namely a. Merdeka Curriculum provides freedom in learning; b. students are more active and creative, c. concise and simple material; d. energy consumption that is quickly drained or tiring; and e. Merdeka Curriculum is better than Curriculum 2013. In addition, five reasons were found from the students' perceptions, namely a. freedom to choose appropriate learning methods and strategies; b. students do a lot of activities in learning; c. the material in English books is more on points with minimal explanation; d. the assignments given are many and concurrent; and e. The Merdeka Curriculum is more student-centered than the 2013 Curriculum. Furthermore, a detailed explanation related to this will be described in detail in this study.

Sentiment Analysis of the Indriver Online Ojek Application using the Naïve Bayes Classifier Method

According to statista.com, there are 73.1 million online motorcycle taxi users in Indonesia and there are 68.1 million active online motorcycle taxi users in Indonesia especially in the province of North Sumatra, there are 43,811 online motorcycle taxi drivers. The Indriver online motorcycle taxi application is an international online transportation service that gives passengers and drivers the freedom to negotiate prices. Sentiment analysis analizes text to determine positive, negative, or neutral sentiments. The method commonly used in sentiment analysis is the Naive Bayes Classifier method. This research uses quantitative methods to analyze sentiment toward the InDriver online motorcycle taxi application by utilizing the Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm. User review data is collected from reviews on the Google Play Store, then cleaned and converted into a format suitable for statistical analysis. To analyze sentiment towards the InDriver online motorcycle taxi application using the Naïve Bayes Classifier method, collecting review data and user comments using the Python library and the Visual Studio code application, carrying out preprocessing, TF-IDF weighting, dividing the data into 70% and 30%, after that conducting testing using naïve Bayes classifier algorithm, as well as carrying out evaluation using a confusion matrix. The results of calculating the level of accuracy using the Naïve Bayes method for sentiment classification can be said to be good, this can be seen from the accuracy results on a dataset of 1393 with a comparison of training data and test data of 7:3, obtaining an accuracy value of 76%, precision of 71% , recall of 81% and f1-score of 76%. EDUKASI PENGABDIAN KEPADA MASYARAKAT DALAM MENANAM KACANG PANJANG GUNA MENINGKATKAN PENGHASILAN DI DESA HILIWETO KECAMATAN GIDO KABUPATEN NIAS

Abstract: Skills in planting long beans to obtain results are carried out through community service activities by providing education to them. The aim of this community service research is to provide education to the public so that they are able to understand well how to plant long beans successfully, including: how to choose and prepare the location of the soil and long bean seeds, how to plant the seeds and care for and prune them, how to help eradicate pests and diseases , and how to maintain a sustainable harvest and the benefits of growing string beans. The method used is giving examples directly, the participants are the people of Hiliweto Village, Gido District, Nias Regency, North Sumatra and the education providers are Nias University students who are carrying out community service activities with the guidance of lecturers. The research results concluded that: (1) community service education is very effective in providing knowledge, attitudes and skills in planting long beans successfully; (2) The ways to plant long beans are: selecting and preparing the location of the soil and long bean seeds by digging a hole in the ground with a depth of about 2 to 3 cm, and the distance between the holes is about 20 to 30 cm, and the distance between the rows is about 60 to 80cm; (3) supporting plants by eradicating pests and diseases and maintaining sustainable harvests by selecting superior, large and good seeds and getting the benefits of planting long beans.

Analisis Dan Pemodelan Proses Bisnis Event Pada Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Sumatera Utara

The North Sumatra Youth and Sports Service is one of the government agencies responsible for youth services, partnership services, sports services and supporting services as regulated by law in North Sumatra Province. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of modeling and mapping the business processes of the North Sumatra Youth and Sports Department in accordance with Minister of Youth and Sports Regulation. By using Business Process Model Notation (BPMN) for business process notation and flowcharts for notation in compiling SOP documents. This research begins with assessing SOP needs, planning and preparing business processes, developing business processes, then verifying the business processes created, compiling SOPs and carrying out SOP verification and SOP validation. The results of this research are in the form of an optimum and efficient event business process model, as well as recommendations for improvements that can be implemented by the Youth and Sports Department.

In 2022, the population of North Sumatra will reach 15,372,437 people. This means that North Sumatra Province has many vehicles, one of which is motorized vehicles. This makes the community do a lot of services related to motor vehicle tax at Samsat Outlets. Ease of information about the locations of Samsat Outlets is also a mandatory need for the community. The use of internet technology to develop geographic information systems is expected to provide convenience for the public in obtaining information on the location of Samsat Outlets. This system utilizes Google Maps to process and visualize the location of Samsat Outlets. The system is designed using the Rapid Application Development software development method. Pengaruh Aplikasi TikTok terhadap Minat Belajar Siswa Geografi pada Kelas XI SMA Muhammadiyah 09 Kualuh Hulu Kabupaten Labuhan Batu Utara

The purpose of this study is to find out whether the TikTok application affects students' interest in learning geography subjects at SMA Muhammadiyah 09 Kualuh Hulu, North LabuhanBaatu Regency. This study uses quantitative research on the technique used, namely purposive sampling. This research has 2 classes as a sample. The number of respondents was 72 students. It is divided into an experimental class and a control class. The data collection techniques used in this study are observation, questionnaires, pretest posttest questions and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study used validity tests, reliability tests, descriptive statistical analysis, normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. The results obtained are in accordance with the researcher's calculations, there is an influence of the TikTok application on the learning interest of students at SMA Muhammadiyah 09 Kualuh Hulu, LabuhanBatu Utara Regency, North Sumatra province, This can be seen from the results of the research on the value of students' learning interest scores in experimental classes that use the TikTok application as a learning medium is higher than in the control class using the conventional method (lecture). In addition, judging from the significance value of 0.000 is less than 0.05 thus H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Therefore, the hypothesis states that social media has an effect on students' interest in learning.

Public Service Communication of Trans Metro Deli as a Commuter Transportation: A Study on UINSU Students

The purpose of this research is to explain and analyze public service communication applied by Trans Metro Deli to users, especially commuter students of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. With the research method used by researchers in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. And for data collection using methods by means of interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Trans Metro Deli implements various communication strategies to improve services to users. These include establishing open and transparent communication by providing accurate and up-todate information to users, responding quickly and effectively to complaints and feedback from user. This research is expected to make an important contribution in understanding how public service communication is implemented.

Evaluation of the Physical Condition of NTB Pelatda Athletes for the Kabaddi Sport Branch Towards Pon XXI Aceh North Sumatra in 2024

Physical condition is a prerequisite that an athlete must have in order to improve and develop optimal sporting performance. One of them is the NTB Kabaddi athlete who will compete in the XXI Aceh-North Sumatra PON event in 2024. The problem in this research is what the physical condition of the NTB regional athletes in the Kabaddi sport will be in the 2024 Aceh-North Sumatra PON XXI. The aim is to determine their physical condition. NTB regional athlete in the Kabaddi sport for PON XXI Aceh-North Sumatra in 2024. Physical condition includes Agility, Endurance and Leg Muscle Strength. This research is a quantitative descriptive study carried out by total sampling on NTB Pelatda Kabaddi athletes, totaling 12 male athletes and 12 female athletes. In the agility test (Illinois Agility Run Test), the average for male athletes was 17.17 in the Fair category, while the female athletes showed an average of 19.14 in the Fair category. The endurance test (MFT or Beep Test) shows that the average endurance test for male athletes is 43.9 in the Poor category, while female athletes have an average of 34.8 in the Poor category. And the leg muscle strength test (Leg Dynamometer) shows that the average score for the leg muscle strength test for male athletes is 229 in the Good category, for female athletes it is 177 in the Good category. From these results, when compared with the previous test, from the results of this evaluation there are still components of physical condition that do not meet the expected criteria, but these results can be used as a benchmark and motivation for athletes to prepare their physical condition better in the future.

Pengaruh Aktivis Mahasiswa Dalam Perubahan Sosial Politik Di Era Digital 5.0

The study explores how student activists at the Islamic State University of North Sumatra (UINSU) influence the socio-political dynamics of the digital era 5.0. This era is marked by technological advances that integrate the physical, digital, and biological worlds, thus providing a new platform for student activism. Student activists not only act as agents of change through social and political activities, but they also use digital technology to expand their influence. The research uses a survey method with structured questionnaires distributed to UINSU student activists, as well as a qualitative approach to gaining an in-depth understanding of their views, attitudes, and experiences of socio-political change. Research findings indicate that student activists effectively use social media and digital technology for campaigns and mobilization. Through social media and internet platforms, activists can quickly mobilize people and draw attention to key topics such as gender equality, climate change, and human rights on a global scale. In the digital age of 5.0, student activists can also more successfully challenge existing forces by using digital tactics, including online campaigns, digital petitions, and online boycott movements, in addition to conducting physical demonstrations in public spaces. They not only use technology as a tool of struggle, but also as a new space for building critical awareness and solidarity. However, the research also finds challenges faced by student activists, such as the spread of disinformation and hoaxes, digital gaps, and technology access. Nonetheless, student activists continue to adapt quickly and innovate to overcome these barriers. The study provides significant insights into the role of digital technology in student activism and its implications for healthy political participation in the digital age 5.0, as well as solutions to strengthen the integrity of democracy at the local level.

Perbedaan Strategi Coping Mahasiswa Akhir Dalam Menghadapi Stres Akademik Ditinjau Dari Jenis Kelamin

The demands that occur to students in the final semester are very diverse, demands that can cause students to often experience academic stress such as final assignments in the form of theses or scientific journals that cause unpleasant situations, if this situation is left unchecked it can cause stress in students. The way students reduce stress due to academic demands is called a coping strategy. Coping strategies in students based on gender by involving students and female students. This study aims to determine the differences in coping strategies based on the forms of problem focused coping and emotional focused coping between students and female students in the department of guidance and islamic counseling, faculty of da'wah and communication of UIN North Sumatra. The subjects in this study amounted to 50 people consisting of 25 students and 25 female students. Sampling of subjects in this study using purposive sampling using instruments in the form of questionnaires with problem focused coping and emotional focused coping scales. Data analysis used is comparative analysis using the t test. based on the results of the study showed the results of the hypothesis t = 1.543 with p≥ 0.05, and in EFC showed the results of the hypothesis test t = 0.422 with p≥ 0.05. This means that there are differences in coping strategies in the form of PFC and EFC in students with male gender and with female gender. Students with male gender have coping strategies in the form of PFC that are higher than women while with female gender have coping strategies with higher forms of EFC.

Ecological, Socioeconomic, and Economic Factors Shaping Vegetable Oil Production in the Batak People Community of North Sumatera

Abstract This research delves into the intricate interplay between ecological, socioeconomic, and economic factors in the production of vegetable oils, with a specific focus on the Batak People community in Tapanuli-Toba Samosir, North Sumatra. The research highlights the profound importance of considering these multifaceted aspects within the context of farmers’ labour rights and community empowerment, thereby illuminating the industry’s broader implications. The study is structured into three principal dimensions: ecological consideration, socioeconomic dimensions, and economic viability. The study assesses farmers’ working conditions and wages, their engagement with national and international labour standards, and the extent to which the vegetable oil industry influences the socioeconomic well-being of the Batak People community. It analyses market dynamics, value chain processes, and the influence of government policies and subsidies on the industry’s economic prospects. By doing so, the research aims to discern how the vegetable oil industry can contribute to the region’s broader economic development. To foster knowledge exchange and collaborative problem-solving, an international seminar is proposed. This seminar will bring together academics, government researchers, industry experts, and community representatives. The event’s objectives include sharing research findings, addressing industry challenges, expanding networks, and crafting a sustainable framework for the vegetable oil sector. This research, alongside the international seminar, seeks to enhance our comprehension of encouraging sustainable practices and formulating policies that can serve as models for similar regions.

The Effect of Basic Disaster Management Training on Basic Training With Employee Performance as an Intervening Variable at the Human Resource Development Agency North Sumatra Province

The purpose of this study is to find out and analyze the influence of Basic Training on Employee Competency mediated by Performance on Employees of the North Sumatra Human Resources Development Agency. This research was carried out at the North Sumatra Human Resources Development Agency. The type of research is quantitative associative. The sample in this study is 107 employees of the North Sumatra Human Resources Development Agency. The sampling technique in this study uses a saturated sample so that the entire population will be a sample of 107 people. The results of the study show that Basic Training does not have a significant influence on Employee Competence as shown by the T-Statistic value of 0.265 < 1.96 and the P Value value of 0.791 > 0.05. In the effect of Basic Training on Performance, data on T-Statistics values were obtained from 3,035 > 1.96 and P-Value values of 0.003 < 0.05 or there was an influence of Basic Training on Performance. Performance had a significant effect on Employee Competency with a T-Statistic value of 4,407 > 1.96 with a P-Value of 0.000 < 0.05. In the indirect influence, the results show that Performance has a role as an intervening variable that will explain the relationship between Basic Education and Training and Employee Competency of the North Sumatra Human Resources Development Agency. This shows that improvements in Basic Training will be able to improve performance, which in turn can also contribute to improving the Competency of Employees of the North Sumatra Human Resources Development Agency.

The Use of Platelet Count and Indices as Prognostic Factors for Mortality in Children with Sepsis.

Sepsis is still one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity in children worldwide. Consumptive coagulopathy and suppression of thrombopoiesis in the bone marrow resulting from immune dysregulation are pathological mechanisms that cause thrombocytopenia in sepsis. Platelet count (PLT) and indices, such as mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), and plateletcrit (PCT) are markers of platelet activation and are strongly influenced by platelet morphology and proliferation kinetics. We aimed to study the use of platelet count and indices as predictors of mortality in children with sepsis. This is a cross-sectional study of 45 children diagnosed with sepsis on admission at Haji Adam Malik Hospital, Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia, between October and November 2022. Blood samples were drawn upon admission, and platelet count and indices were then determined for all children. Subjects were followed up till discharge from hospital or death. Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve analysis of platelet parameters was done to determine the area under the curve (AUC), optimal cut-off value, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV), and negative predictive value (NPV) in predicting mortality in children with sepsis. Using the cut-off values from ROC curve analysis, the odds ratio with 95% confidence interval was calculated using multiple logistic regression analyses. A P value less than 0.05 was considered statistically significant. MPV, PDW, and PDW/PLT were significantly higher in non-survivors than survivors (P=0.04, P=0.02, and P=0.04, respectively). ROC curve analysis showed that PDW had the largest AUC (0.708 [95% CI=0.549-0.866]) with a cut-off value of 14.1%, sensitivity of 63.6%, and specificity of 82.6%. PDW was also the only parameter that significantly affected the outcome of children with sepsis. PDW≥14.1% at admission increases the risk of mortality by 5.7 times. Admission PDW is a fast and specific tool to predict the outcome of children with sepsis.

Evaluasi Kebijakan Pengelolaan Sampah di Desa Bandar Khalipah

Until now, waste management is still a major problem, almost every region experiences this problem. Along with population growth and community activity levels. The research method used is qualitative research with several interview techniques. From the results of observations that have been carried out directly in the field by researchers and the results of interviews with the Village Head and several residents of Bandar Khalipah village, information can be produced that in Bandar Khalipah Village, Percut Sei Tuan District, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, even though the village government has tried to implement the policy the public to encourage citizens to care about the environment by managing waste properly and correctly is still not implemented well. The public policy implemented by the village government in providing waste management infrastructure in Bandar Khalipah Village was attempted several years ago but has not been implemented well due to several existing factors. The unavailability of TPA (Final Disposal Site) is one of the triggers for many village communities continuing to throw rubbish carelessly, such as in rivers, roadsides near ditches and on empty, uninhabited land.

Pengaruh Kepemimpinan serta Kompensasi terhadap Motivasi Atlet Esports Pelatda Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Esports is an official sports branch in Indonesia, as stated in the results of the KONI National Working Meeting (RAKERNA) in 2020, which declared esports to be part of the prestigious sports branch. This is also in line with the establishment of the Indonesian Esports Association (PBESI) as the governing body of electronic sports under the National Sports Committee of Indonesia (KONI). Research results show that the t-value of both variables is below 0.005, and F calculated is greater than F table (570.063 > 2.91). It can be explained that leadership has a significant positive influence on the achievement motivation of esports athletes in the provincial training center (Pelatda) of North Sumatra. Compensation also has a significant positive influence on the achievement motivation of esports athletes in the provincial training center (Pelatda) of North Sumatra partially. Furthermore, it is found that both leadership and compensation have a significant positive influence on the achievement motivation of esports athletes in the provincial training center (Pelatda) of North Sumatra simultaneously.

The Influence of Education Level and Inequality on Poverty in North Sumatera

This study aims to determine the influence of education level and inequality on poverty in North Sumatra. This research uses annual time series data with a quantitative approach. The results show that partially there is no influence between education level and inequality on poverty in North Sumatra. Simultaneously, there is also no influence between education level and inequality on poverty in North Sumatra. The magnitude of the influence of education level and inequality on poverty in North Sumatra is evident from the coefficient of determination (r square) which is 46%, indicating that education level and poverty significantly affect poverty in North Sumatra.

Multi-aspect Analysis of Rice Sustainability in the Improvement of Rice Production in North Sumatra Province, Indonesia

North Sumatra's food security highly depends on rice supply from rice fields in rice-producing districts, namely Deli Serdang, Serdang Bedagai and Simalungun. The decrease in rice field area impacts the North Sumatra region's rice supply. This research aims to analyze the sustainability status and sensitive factors that cause the sustainability of rice fields based on economic, ecological, social, technological, legal, and institutional dimensions using Multi-aspect Sustainability Analysis software. The research results show that, in aggregate, the sustainability of rice fields is in the quite good category with a score of 62. Apart from the less sustainable economic aspect with a score of 59.09, there are four other aspects, such as environmental, social, infrastructure and technology, laws and regulations, and institutions, declared sustainable with a score greater than 62. The research also found 15 sensitive key factors that can improve the sustainability status of rice fields in North Sumatra to become very sustainable

Marketing strategy to increase sales volume using the AHP method in business XY Tebing Tinggi City

Business xy is one of the culinary industries typical of the city of Tebing Tinggi which operates in the bakery sector which is located in Rambutan District, Tebing Tinggi City, North Sumatra. Xy's business experienced a decline in sales due to increasingly fierce competition selling similar products and a decline in sales due to failure to implement appropriate marketing strategies. By considering these problems, to increase product sales volume, it is necessary to create a marketing mix strategy that uses the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. This method will evaluate how consumers view the marketing mix features of peanut bread products. Apart from that, several alternative strategies will be given as references to be implemented in company xy, Tebing Tinggi City. The result of determining the marketing mix priority weights that must be applied to market products is that the strategy to increase market share (41%) focuses on the promotional mix. Alternative strategies that can be implemented include maintaining product quality as the main priority in the product mix (42%), setting prices with quality as the main priority in the product mix (31%), strategic sales locations (44%) as the main priority in the place mix, and increasing market share (44%) as the main priority of the venue mix, and increasing promotional activities on social media (35%) of the promotional mix
