We consider singular nonlinear Hadamard fractional boundary value problems. Using properties of Green’s function and a fixed point theorem, we show that the problem has positive solutions which blow up. Finally, some examples are provided to explain the applications of the results.

Existence and multiplicity of positive solutions for a new class of singular higher-order fractional differential equations with Riemann\u2013Stieltjes integral boundary value conditions

In this work, the aim is to discuss a new class of singular nonlinear higher-order fractional boundary value problems involving multiple Riemann–Liouville fractional derivatives. The boundary conditions are constituted by Riemann–Stieltjes integral boundary conditions. The existence and multiplicity of positive solutions are derived via employing the Guo–Krasnosel’skii fixed point theorem. In addition, the main results are demonstrated by some examples to show their validity.

Eigenvalue Criteria for Existence of Positive Solutions to Fractional Boundary Value Problem

The existence and multiplicity of positive solutions for the nonlinear fractional differential equation boundary value problem (BVP) DC0+αyx+fx,yx=0, 0<x<1, y0=y′1=y″0=0 is established, where 2<α≤3, CD0+α is the Caputo fractional derivative, and f:0,1×0,∞⟶0,∞ is a continuous function. The conclusion relies on the fixed-point index theory and the Leray-Schauder degree theory. The growth conditions of the nonlinearity with respect to the first eigenvalue of the related linear operator is given to guarantee the existence and multiplicity.

Monotone iterative method for a p-Laplacian boundary value problem with fractional conformable derivatives

By using monotone iterative method, the extremal solutions and the unique solution are obtained for a nonlinear fractional p-Laplacian boundary value problem involving fractional conformable derivatives and nonlocal integral boundary conditions. Comparison theorems related to the proposed study are also proved. The paper concludes with an illustrative example for the main result.

Iterative unique positive solutions for a new class of nonlinear singular higher order fractional differential equations with mixed-type boundary value conditions

In this paper, we consider a new class of singular nonlinear higher order fractional boundary value problems supplemented with sum of Riemann–Stieltjes integral type and nonlocal infinite-point discrete type boundary conditions. The fractional derivative of different orders is involved in the nonlinear terms and boundary conditions, and the nonlinear terms are allowed to be singular in regard to not only time variable but also space variables. A unique positive solution is established by using the fixed point theorem of mixed monotone operator. In addition, some significant properties of the unique solution depending on the parameter λ are stated. In the end, two examples are worked out to illustrate our main results.

Direct and integrated radial functions based quasilinearization schemes for nonlinear fractional differential equations

In this article, two radial basis functions based collocation schemes, differentiated and integrated methods (DRBF and IRBF), are extended to solve a class of nonlinear fractional initial and boundary value problems. Before discretization, the nonlinear problem is linearized using generalized quasilinearization. An interesting proof via generalized monotone quasilinearization for the existence and uniqueness for fractional order initial value problem is given. This convergence analysis also proves quadratic convergence of the generalized quasilinearization method. Both the schemes are compared in terms of accuracy and convergence and it is found that IRBF scheme handles inherent RBF ill-condition better than corresponding DRBF method. Variety of numerical examples are provided and compared with other available results to confirm the efficiency of the schemes.

Properties of Green\u2019s function and the existence of different types of solutions for nonlinear fractional BVP with a parameter in integral boundary conditions

This paper is concerned with the impact of the parameter on the existence of different types of solutions for a class of nonlinear fractional integral boundary value problems with a parameter that causes the sign of Green’s function associated with the BVP to change. By using the Guo–Krasnoselskii fixed point theorem, the Leray–Schauder nonlinear alternative, and the analytic technique, we give the range of the parameter for the existence of strong positive solutions, strong negative solutions, negative solutions, and sign-changing solutions for the boundary value problem. Some examples are given to illustrate our main results.

The Multiplicity of Solutions for a Class of Nonlinear Fractional Dirichlet Boundary Value Problems with p-Laplacian Type via Variational Approach

Abstract In this paper, by using variational methods and a critical point theorem due to Bonanno and Marano, the existence of at least three weak solutions is obtained for a class of p-Laplacian type nonlinear fractional coupled systems depending on two parameters. Two examples are given to illustrate the applications of our main results.

Values of the parameters λ and μ are determined for which boundary value problem has positive solution by utilizing a fixed point theorem on cone.

Unique Solutions for Fractional q-Difference Boundary Value Problems Via a Fixed Point Method

In this paper, by applying the cone theory in ordered Banach spaces associated with the characters of increasing $$\varphi -(h,e)$$ -concave operators, we investigate the existence and uniqueness of nontrivial solutions for a nonlinear fractional q-difference equation boundary value problem. The main results show that we can construct an iterative scheme approximating the unique nontrivial solution. Relying on an example, we show the efficiency and applicability of the main result.

New Modified Adomian Decomposition Recursion Schemes for Solving Certain Types of Nonlinear Fractional Two-Point Boundary Value Problems

We apply new modified recursion schemes obtained by the Adomian decomposition method (ADM) to analytically solve specific types of two-point boundary value problems for nonlinear fractional order ordinary and partial differential equations. The new modified recursion schemes, which sometimes utilize the technique of Duan’s convergence parameter, are derived using the Duan-Rach modified ADM. The Duan-Rach modified ADM employs all of the given boundary conditions to compute the remaining unknown constants of integration, which are then embedded in the integral solution form before constructing recursion schemes for the solution components. New modified recursion schemes obtained by the method are generated in order to analytically solve nonlinear fractional order boundary value problems with a variety of two-point boundary conditions such as Robin and separated boundary conditions. Some numerical examples of such problems are demonstrated graphically. In addition, the maximal errors (MEn) or the error remainder functions (ERn(x)) of each problem are calculated.

Solvability for nonlinear fractional q-difference equations with nonlocal conditions

In this paper, we study a class of nonlinear fractional q-difference equations boundary value problem. We obtain the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for this problem by Banach's contraction mapping principle and Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem on cone. Lastly, we give two examples to illuminate the use of the main results.

New Fixed Point Theorems for Mixed Monotone Operators with Perturbation and Applications

By using the properties of cone and the fixed point theorem for mixed monotone operators in ordered Banach spaces, we investigate the mixed monotone operators of a new type with perturbation. We establish some sufficient conditions for such operators to have a new existence and uniqueness fixed point and provide monotone iterative techniques which give sequences convergent to the fixed point. Finally, as applications, we apple the results obtained in this paper to study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for nonlinear fractional differential equation boundary value problems.

Solvability for a discrete fractional mixed type sum-difference equation boundary value problem in a Banach space

In this paper, by means of Darbo’s fixed point theorem, we establish the existence of solutions to a nonlinear discrete fractional mixed type sum-difference equation boundary value problem in a Banach space. Additionally, as an application, we give an example to demonstrate the main result.

The solution for a class of sum operator equation and its application to fractional differential equation boundary value problems

In this paper we study a class of sum operator equation $Ax+Bx+C(x,x)=x$ on ordered Banach spaces, where A is an increasing operator, B is a decreasing operator, and C is a mixed monotone operator. The existence and uniqueness of its positive solution are obtained by using the properties of cone and fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators. As an application, we utilize the obtained results to study the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions for nonlinear fractional differential equation boundary value problems.

Existence and multiplicity for a system of fractional higher-order two-point boundary value problem

The purpose of this paper is to establish some results on the existence of multiple positive solutions for a system of nonlinear fractional order two-point boundary value problem. The main tool is a fixed point theorem of the cone expansion and compression of functional type and five functional fixed point theorem. Some examples are also presented to illustrate the availability of the main results.
