Utilization Of Geographic Information Systems (SIG) In Mapping Rivers As Alternative Transportation Routes In Jakarta

Abstract—Public transportation is an important means of transportation for people's lives. The importance of transportation is reflected in the increasing need for transportation services to move people and goods from one place to another. For this reason, there needs to be a way to be able to overcome congestion that occurs due to heavy traffic activities that occur on land. One way is to use the river as an alternative means of transportation. River currents can be used as a means of transportation by using watercraft such as amphibious buses. Therefore, river mapping studies are needed to study optimal routes so as to integrate amphibious bus transportation routes. The way that can be done is by maximizing the use of geographic information systems (GIS) for making mapping of the river path, so it is hoped that with the existence of water transportation routes, it can be a good solution to reduce the level of congestion that occurs in DKI Jakarta.

Manajemen Operasional Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Batulicin – Tanjung Serdang Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan

The Batulicin ferry port in Tanah Bumbu and the Tanjung Serdang crossing in Kotabaru, Pulau Laut district, has a very important role for transportation in facilitating the flow of goods and people as a series of the South Kalimantan Axis Cross Road that connects the city of Banjarmasin and all cities in South Kalimantan province and the city. -cities on the island of Kalimantan to Kotabaru, Tanah Laut district. With the economic development around coal mining, plantations and tourism in South Kalimantan, it is estimated that the need for transportation services from year to year always increases. To anticipate these conditions, the land transportation system and crossing required optimal performance standards. This research was conducted at the Batulicin - Tanjung Serdang crossing by taking case studies at the Batulicin and Tanjung Serdang ferry ports. The purpose of this study is to find a solution to the problem of optimizing the Batulicin port operating system whether additional ships are needed due to the long queue of passenger cars and goods that will cross from Batulicin to Kotabaru or vice versa. The data collected includes the performance of the crossing system, data retrieval is carried out on December 20 to December 24, 2021. Data analysis is based on the concept of combined costs, between vehicle waiting time costs and ship operating costs, with the number of ships. From the results of the discussion, it can be concluded that operational management in the form of an optimal performance system requires 4 ships with a minimum combined cost reference.

Потребности региональной социально-экономической системы в транспортных услугах

The subject of the article is the relationship between the parameters of the regional socio-economic system and the transport complex. Transport is a: 1) independent branch of the economy, 2) element of the regional infrastructure, providing conditions for functioning of the other branches of material production and the social sphere. The purpose of this article is to present methodological approaches to the study of needs of the regional socio-economic system in the transport services and to conduct experimental needs assessment on the example of the Khabarovsk territory. Methodology is presented as a set of sequential stages, including the analysis of features of the regional economy and transport, study of the relationship of their parameters. The structure of the economy and key indicators of the transport complex of the Khabarovsk territory are considered. Experimental assessment of the demand for freight transportation from the socio-economic system of the region using methods of econometric analysis was carried out. Models of simple linear regression vector and auto-regression vector are tested. The data on the volume of cargo transportation and cargo turnover for the period 1995–2019, as well as the index of industrial production and gross regional product were used. It is determined that linear regression does not allow obtaining meaningful and correct estimates. The vector auto-regression model shows a significant relationship between the indicators of the economy and the volume of rail transport, the general indicator of transportation, as well as cargo turnover by road (with a lag of one period), no significant connection with the road transport was found. The results obtained can become the basis for assessing the future needs for transport services, based on the future parameters of the economic development of the region. This will allow for timely and adequate development of transport infrastructure without turning it into a limitation of economic growth. In the future, it is necessary to detail the analysis by studying the relationship of need for transport services with the parameters of the functioning of individual sectors of the socio-economic system of the region.

Peranan Penggunaan Transportasi Publik di Perkotaan (Studi Kasus Penggunaan Kereta Commuterline Indonesia Rute Jakarta-Bekasi)

Public transport is an important means of development for life. The importance of transportation is reflected in the increasing need for transportation services for human mobility and goods as a result of the increasing population growth and the development of settlements in big cities. One type of transportation that can be used as an alternative to overcome the problems of public transportation needs above is the train. Trains that are a means of transportation with many advantages such as low pollution, free of traffic, bulk, cheaper cost, and also save time.With the various advantages possessed by the train above, is expected to be a consideration in order to become an increasingly complex solution of transportation problems in urban areas.

VEHICLE ACCESS OF VILLAGE AREAS: METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES

A crucial role in the organization of passenger transportation, and thus mobility of the population is played by an effective implementation of the national transport policy and the state and the local government. It provides a foundation for the solution of problems of financial provision of the individual types of transport and should contribute to making plans of activities in this area for individual entrepreneurs and investors. The article deals with the existing approaches to the determination of the areas vehicle access category. Its main characteristics (economic, institutional and social) are analysed. The search for new methodological framework that allows to consider the problems of theoretical and practical justification of the adequacy of the system evaluation of territorial differentiation of population life quality from the perspective of the institutional changes has been made. It has been proved that accessibility is the economic category, which is determined by the level of development of the productive forces of society and the level of development needs in traffic for economy and population. As an institutional category, it represents the interconnection of factors system (spatial, temporal, cost, quality, social), and is justified to meet the requirements for transportation of people and / or cargo. In the context of rural areas, transport accessibility represents the ratio of three parameters: the need for transport services for peasants, the possibility of their provision by transport territorial systems and the state regulation and control. As a result of its low level, the socially guaranteed minimum transport services are not provided in the village, which leads to discrimination of rural residents. There is a necessity to consider the transport policy of the state to create total transport accessibility of rural areas on the basis of cooperation rather than competition of various transport modes. Due to the objective limitations of public resources, an effective system for its implementation at all levels actualizes the use of Institute of state-private partnership, which allows to include the development of social infrastructure in rural areas private-sector resources in the list of socially important tasks

Measuring Nutrition-Related Unmet Needs in Recently Hospital-Discharged Homebound Older Adults

ABSTRACTFunctional limitations in homebound older adults may cause difficulties with obtaining and preparing adequate healthy food. Services exist to help with these difficulties, however, not all individuals who could benefit receive them. This secondary analysis of observational data, obtained via questionnaires from homebound, recently hospital discharged older adults (n = 566), aimed to identify the prevalence and correlates of unmet need for such services, and to examine the disagreement between self-reported need for a service and functional limitation that could be addressed by that service. One-fifth of respondents reported unmet need for vision services and oral health services, and one-tenth reported unmet need for transportation services and physical therapy. There was a significant association between reported need and functional limitation (p < 0.001) for all services, except mental health and grocery delivery. However, for each service there were participants who under-reported need, compared with functional ability indicators. More research is required to determine the best methods for measuring these needs to ensure that nutritional vulnerability is detected and addressed in those returning from hospital.

Formal Alternative Transportation Options for Older Adults: An Assessment of Need

ABSTRACTThis study measured the need for formal alternative modes of transportation among older adults by applying traditional factors of the Behavioral Model. Survey participants who regularly drove were compared to those who could no longer drive. Race/ethnicity and self-reported health were significant predictors of perceived need for transportation services for both groups. However, income and service awareness were significant predictors only for drivers, while family proximity was a significant predictor only for non-drivers. Results suggest the importance of gaining a better understanding of the factors associated with need for senior-focused transportation services to more effectively plan such programs.

One of the causes of the increasing need for transportation is the interest to carry out various activities quickly and appropriately. This condition can be seen from the government's support for equitable regional economic growth by opening all access using various transportation modes created. However, in utilizing all these facilities, the public or users of transportation services often have limitations in ordering for various things. Then arose several companies managing transportation services with various facilities either through the services of land transportation, sea transportation, and air transportation services. In an effort to serve the needs of these service users, companies use a variety of media and infrastructure that in turn aims to maximize service and win the competition. This study aims to analyze the effect of service quality and product quality on customer satisfaction PT. Rahman Wisata Mandiri Jakarta simultaneously or partially. The number of samples was 42 respondents. The sampling technique in this research is by using saturation sampling technique. The saturated sample is a sample determination technique when all members of the population are used as a sample. The results showed that there is both partial and simultaneous effect of service quality and product quality on customer satisfaction of PT. Rahman Wisata Mandiri Jakarta.

Possibilities of Using Transport Terminals in South Bohemian Region

AbstractCurrently, when there is a need for transport services adapted to the customer requirements and create a workable operational system, there is increasing talk about transport terminals. Since the South Bohemian region is one of those where this issue will be increasingly dealt with, this paper suggests ways to use transport terminals as important support systems for freight and passenger transport.

Automating a framework to extract and analyse transport related social media content: The potential and the challenges

Harnessing the potential of new generation transport data and increasing public participation are high on the agenda for transport stakeholders and the broader community. The initial phase in the program of research reported here proposed a framework for mining transport-related information from social media, demonstrated and evaluated it using transport-related tweets associated with three football matches as case studies. The goal of this paper is to extend and complement the previous published studies. It reports an extended analysis of the research results, highlighting and elaborating the challenges that need to be addressed before a large-scale application of the framework can take place. The focus is specifically on the automatic harvesting of relevant, valuable information from Twitter. The results from automatically mining transport related messages in two scenarios are presented i.e. with a small-scale labelled dataset and with a large-scale dataset of 3.7m tweets. Tweets authored by individuals that mention a need for transport, express an opinion about transport services or report an event, with respect to different transport modes, were mined. The challenges faced in automatically analysing Twitter messages, written in Twitter’s specific language, are illustrated. The results presented show a strong degree of success in the identification of transport related tweets, with similar success in identifying tweets that expressed an opinion about transport services. The identification of tweets that expressed a need for transport services or reported an event was more challenging, a finding mirrored during the human based message annotation process. Overall, the results demonstrate the potential of automatic extraction of valuable information from tweets while pointing to areas where challenges were encountered and additional research is needed. The impact of a successful solution to these challenges (thereby creating efficient harvesting systems) would be to enable travellers to participate more effectively in the improvement of transport services.

The driving forces behind the increasing use of control are the rising need for transportation services and the demand for a higher safety level. While each domain takes specific approach to deal with these demands, a general trend towards automatic co-pilots or even autopilots is visible. In the automotive domain, this is aided by the design of drive by wire systems. In other fields like marine or aerospace systems, the focus of research is on the swarming behavior of multiple vessels. New sensors and networking will also enable more efficient traffic flow control which will allow for a better use of the resource network capacity. Another trend in the vehicle systems sector is the modeling of nonlinear system behavior which is starting to replace look-up tables in real time systems. A forecast on future trends is given at the end of the paper.

Assessment of the Transportation Needs of Pennsylvania's Elderly Population

We focus on the transportation needs of the elderly as determined by a randomly selected sample of 2,048 elderly Pennsylvania residents. We provide an analysis of those factors that can discriminate between the elderly (1) who express a need for transportation services versus those who do not and (2) who use transportation services and who do not. Car ownership, health status, living arrangement, race, martial status, sex, and age are significantly related to the elderly's perceived need of transportation services. Factors significant in discriminating between users and nonusers of transportation services are perceived need, car ownership, urban-rural residence, age, and living arrangement. Implications of this analysis for policy-makers and researchers are discussed.

Paratransit: The coming of age of a transportation concept

The nature and potential of paratransit is examined, and the question of what accounts for its growing popularity is considered. The family of services known collectively as paratransit arose in the 1960's with rapid suburbanization and the need for transportation services that would approximate the convenience and ubiquity of the automobile, yet preserve the inherent economy and efficiency of public transportation. The concept of multipurpose community paratransit services are of special promise. Outstanding examples of such services are to be found in El Cajon, California, and Westport, Connecticut. In central cities paratransit can serve as a valuable complement to regular transit. The use of taxis to replace buses on routes that are little frequented, has been successful in German cities such as Munich, Stuttgart, and West Berlin. Potentially, the most far-reaching opportunity for paratransit lies in the concept of paratransit/transit operations. Although paratransit is not an alternative to the traditional transit services, it represents a viable mode in the current search for energy-saving transportation systems.
