The possibility of obtaining biologically active materials with antimicrobial properties has been studied. The materials are made on the basis of multilayer nanostructured coatings, which were obtained by condensation with ion bombardment of nitride layers on medical instruments in a nitrogen atmosphere. The surface was treated in a flow of low-energy ions with energies ranging from 70 to 100 eV. We received a medical instrument with a high-strength coating that has an antimicrobial effect. IT has no negative effect on animal cells, with a proliferation index of 1.07-2.0. The research results suggest that the method for producing ion-plasma coatings based on hafnium nitrides with their subsequent activation is promising for the technology of manufacturing surgical metal implants and medical instruments.
