Design and Implementation of General High-Speed Data Storage System

According to the trend of the development of the computer system bus more, designs the general high-speed data storage system based on computer platform structure.Put forward the "one-way chain" cache structure, to avoid the computer operating system of real-time data transmission, the influence of the multithreaded mode data transmission and storage of parallel processing.According to the basic principle of data storage in a computer system, put forward the standard file operations function replace special instruction set, the method of implementing the SCSI disk array storage at a high speed.Test results show that the data storage system based on computer platform with more generalization method to achieve the high speed of data storage.

An object segmentation method for the color slow-motion videos based on adjacent frames gradual change

Along with the high-speed cameras are more and more widely applied, how to automatically segment the region of interest in the slow-motion video is a new issue. In this paper, a color slow-motion video segmentation method is proposed. The main strategy is based on region growing and pixel color difference. A rapid color similarity computing method is improved and applied for classifying different pixels. An algorithm based on four directions corrosion is proposed to automatically extract the seed points for the serialized video frames. Utilizing this method, the color frames of the slow-motion videos can be segmented in series automatically. Also, the multithreading mode of parallel computing is introduced in the entire segmentation process. This method is not complicated but automatic. The regions of interest in the slow-motion video frames can be segmented clearly. This novel method can provide support to the video related applications.

Minix3 마이크로커널 기반 디스크 캐쉬 관리자의 설계 및 구현

마이크로커널 기반의 기능성 서버인 디스크 캐쉬 관리자(DCM)은 공유 디스크의 입출력 성능을 향상하는 목적으로 설계 및 구현되었다. DCM은 Misix3 마이크로커널의 멀티 쓰레드 모드로 동작하는 시스템 엑터간의 포트를 통하여 다른 서버들과 메시지 교환으로 정합한다. 본 논문에서 제안된 DCM은 병렬 입출력이 가능하도록 공유 디스크를 논리적으로 Seven 디스크와 Sodd 디스크로 나누어 사용한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 DCM은 특정 디스크의 사용 빈도에 따라 캐쉬 사이즈를 증감함으로써 이용율이 높은 디스크의 캐시 사이즈 확대하여 캐시 적중률을 높여주므로서 효과적인 성능을 향상할 수 있게 한다. 경험적 결과를 통해서, 본 논문에서 제안한 DCM은 높은 이용율을 갖는 공유 디스크에서 아주 효과적임을 보였다. Disk Cache Manager(DCM), a functional server of microkernel based, to improve the I/O power of shared disks is designed and implemented in this work. DCM interfaces other different servers with message passing through ports by serving as a system actor the multi-thread mode on the Minix3 micro-kernel. DCM proposed in this paper uses the shared disk logically as a Seven Disk and Sodd Disk to enable parallel I/O. DCM enables the efficient placement of disk data because it raises disk cache hit-ratio by increasing the cache size when the utilization of the particular disk is high. Through experimental results, we show that DCM is quite efficient for a shared disk with higher utilization.

Web Page Data Collection Based on Multithread

The web data collection is the process of collecting the semi-structured, large-scale and redundant data which include web content, web structure and web usage in the web by the crawler and it is often used for the information extraction, information retrieval, search engine and web data mining. In this paper, the web data collection principle is introduced and some related topics are discussed such as page download, coding problem, updated strategy, static and dynamic page. The multithread technology is described and multithread mode for the web data collection is proposed. The web data collection with multithread can get better resource utilization, better average response time and better performance.

Fast access to the CMS detector condition data employing HTML5 technologies

This paper focuses on using HTML version 5 (HTML5) for accessing condition data for the CMS experiment, evaluating the benefits and risks posed by the use of this technology. According to the authors of HTML5, this technology attempts to solve issues found in previous iterations of HTML and addresses the needs of web applications, an area previously not adequately covered by HTML.We demonstrate that employing HTML5 brings important benefits in terms of access performance to the CMS condition data. The combined use of web storage and web sockets allows increasing the performance and reducing the costs in term of computation power, memory usage and network bandwidth for client and server. Above all, the web workers allow creating different scripts that can be executed using multi-thread mode, exploiting multi-core microprocessors. Web workers have been employed in order to substantially decrease the web page rendering time to display the condition data stored in the CMS condition database.

Parallel search for signals with specified cross- and autocorrelation properties on multiprocessor platforms

This paper presents a software program performing the concurrent (multithreaded) enumeration of possible binary signals of the specified bit-length with the specified correlation properties. The results of investigating the speed characteristics of its operation in single-threaded and multithreaded modes are also presented. In addition, the specific for multithreaded environment conditions causing the slowdown of program operation have been analyzed.

PaMiraXT: Parallel SAT Solving with Threads and Message Passing

This article describes PaMiraXT, a powerful parallel SAT algorithm. PaMiraXT follows a master/client model based on message passing, making it suitable for any kind of workstation cluster. For the clients, MiraXT is used, which itself is thread-based parallel solver designed to take advantage of current and future shared memory multiprocessor systems. We highlight design and implementation details that allow the threads/clients to run and cooperate efficiently. Experimental results show that MiraXT compares well to other state-of-the-art SAT algorithms. In single-threaded mode, it outperforms MiniSat2, PicoSAT 535, and RSat 2.01, while in multi-threaded mode, MiraXT provides cutting edge performance, as it solves significantly more instances within the given time limit. A case study, using three copies of MiraXT with a total of 8 threads as clients, underlines the potential of PaMiraXT, resulting in a speedup of 5.62 on the industrial benchmarks of the 2007 SAT competition.

From toy to tool—advanced auralization procedure in daily design work.

Since more than 20 years simulation procedures are more and more common, but the auralization procedure is considered mainly as a toy. The reason for this relates partially to the efforts needed to get real auralized sound files. In a previous paper the authors reported about a method to produce high end auralization files. This method allows to use normal head phones to get the right spatial impression without in‐head localization. The main reason not to use an auralized sound impression in the daily design work is the time‐consuming procedure to calculate true impulse responses (IR) especially in large halls. In this paper new algorithms are reported to calculate IRs in multithread mode with one computer or better via a network with a set of CPUs working in parallel. So calculations in large halls maybe be reduced from 8–10 h with one CPU to 10–20 min with multicore computers. The paper explains the way from the model to high‐end auralized files. Some examples demonstrate the quality of these derived binaural files.

Application of MDSplus on EAST Tokamak

EAST is a fully superconducting Tokamak in China used for controlled fusion research. MDSplus, a special software package for fusion research, has been used successfully as a central repository for analysed data and PCS (Plasma Control System) data since the debugging experiment in the spring of 2006 [1]. In this paper, the reasons for choosing MDSplus as the analysis database and the way to use it are presented in detail, along with the solution to the problem that part of the MDSplus library does not work in the multithread mode. The experiment showed that the data system based on MDSplus operated stably and it could provide a better performance especially for remote users.
