Objective To discuss the differences of pre-service needs of new nurses with different degrees, and provide references and practical guidance for constructing scientific pre-service plans for new nurses. Methods According to the method of group sampling, 400 new nurses from several hospitals in a certain area were selected as the study subjects.A self-designed questionnaire on pre-service needs assessment for new nurses was used to investigate the current situation.Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0 statistical analysis software. Results New nurses' pre-service course content 50 items demand average score was between 4.03 and 4.69, of which tend to be very much needed (M ≥ 4.5) of the entries have 30.All other items show the degree required.Due to different educational background, the pre-job needs of new nurses in four dimensions of laws and regulations, normative standards , hospital management rules and regulations , health education and nursing skill operation training were statistically significant (P<0.05). The newly employed nurses requested that the teaching method would be prior to clinical practice (including operation teaching, scenario simulation) and face-to-face lecture teaching for pre-employment course content with the combination of group discussion and multimedia (without lecturer) teaching method. Conclusions Hospital nursing administrators should pay attention to the pre job of new recruits and adopt diversified training.
