Reasonableness of court decisions in the paradigm of psychological, logical and doctrinal analysis

The article is devoted to the study of the concept of reasoning of court decisions through psychological, logical and doctrinal aspects. Reasonableness of court decisions is a multifaceted concept, which is influenced by the interaction of these three key aspects. Studying the characteristics of a court decision as a special type of legal document through the prism of interdisciplinary dialogue improves understanding of the processes underlying judicial thinking and the formalization of its outcome. Cognitive biases, emotional state and social pressure influence the decision-making process. The article analyzes certain psychological theories and concepts that emphasize the influence of psychological factors on the motivation of judicial decisions. The author emphasizes the importance of logical consistency in legal reasoning. The author examines the common logical techniques, used in rendering court decisions and their reasoning, and also identifies the importance of consistent and rational judgments in law enforcement. In addition, the author examines how established legal doctrines affect the characteristics of a court decision, including its motivation, and how deviations from these doctrines may affect public perception of court decisions. Understanding and taking into account psychological, logical and doctrinal aspects in the process of making a court decision is important for increasing the level of motivation of court decisions, and as a result, ensuring the right to a fair trial and building trust in the legal system in general

Teaching mathematics in college: The need for a set of professionally oriented tasks

The purpose of the study is to solve this problem, which consists of substantiating, developing, and implementing a methodological system for preparing students for professionally oriented mathematics education in college. Professionally oriented mathematics education in colleges is advisable, as it helps students see the practical benefits and importance of mathematics in their future professional activities. This approach allows us to better prepare students for their future professions. Research problem: what are the leading directions, principles, content, and forms of methodological preparation of students for professionally oriented mathematics education in college? In achieving this goal, we distinguish a complex of professionally oriented tasks in the fact that they reflect specific scenarios and difficulties that specialists face in their professional activities, and this allows students to gain experience in specific tasks from their field. Research methods: interviewing and testing students, teachers; observation, study, and generalization of pedagogical experience; development of an author's methodology for preparing students for professionally oriented mathematics education in college. We identified criteria to verify the effectiveness of the training methodology, assessing the students’ assimilation of subject knowledge and their increased motivation for learning. The results of the pedagogical experiment show that the process of teaching mathematics in a college with a professionally oriented methodological learning system, implemented through the use of a set of professionally oriented tasks, contributes to an increase in the level of mathematical training and educational motivation of students.

Characteristics of health-preserving competence of future physical education teachers in the structure of professional training

This article presents the results of a sociological study aimed at assessing health-preserving competence and its role in the professional training of future physical education teachers. The goal of the research is to characterize the health-preserving competence of future physical education teachers within the structure of professional training during wartime and postwar conditions. Research methods include theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological literature, sociological research, pedagogical research methods (observation), and mathematical analysis methods. The study involved 53 students from the first to fourth years of the specialty 014.11 Secondary Education. Physical Culture at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University. Students' self-assessment of their level of health- preserving competence was divided into four levels: high, sufficient, average, and low. Only 7.4% of respondents rated their level as high, while the majority rated it as sufficient or average. The research identified the main reasons leading to low or average self- assessment of professional culture: insufficient number of practical classes (27.8%), lack of independent work (20.4%), insufficient theoretical knowledge (14.8%), and low level of motivation and interest (14.8%). Key aspects of health-preserving competence for future physical education teachers were determined. Despite the significant attention of higher education institutions to the formation of health-preserving competence, only 51.9% of students regularly implement components of a healthy lifestyle. The most effective means of forming health-preserving competence were identified as the integration of relevant aspects into the curriculum, conducting master classes, practical exercises, and organizing sports events. The study emphasizes the need to improve educational programs to enhance the level of health-preserving competence, which includes increasing the number of practical classes, stimulating students' independent work, and strengthening their motivation to actively apply the acquired knowledge in everyday life and professional activities.

Interpersonal Emotion Regulation in Young Adults With Low and High Psychosis Proneness: A Diary Study

Abstract Purpose Emotion regulation is a complex process that often involves the presence of others, also known as interpersonal emotion regulation (IER). However, little is known about how psychotic symptoms relate to IER. We investigated whether young adults with elevated psychosis proneness engage in IER less frequently and find it less helpful than those with low psychosis proneness. Methods Psychosis-prone young adults with attenuated negative (PP-NES, n = 37) and positive symptoms (PP-POS, n = 20) and a low psychosis-prone control group (CG, n = 52) were recruited based on a priori defined cut-offs for the Community Assessment of Psychic Experiences. Participants provided daily diaries over one week, reporting negative symptoms, paranoia, positive and negative affect, and the frequency and efficacy of IER strategies to upregulate positive and downregulate negative emotions. Results Multilevel models showed that PP-NES reported using IER less frequently and found it less effective compared to CG. PP-POS reported turning to others for advice in distressing situations more than the CG. These group differences were related to aberrant affect levels in PP-NES. Across groups, participants used IER less on days on which they reported more negative symptoms and used it more on days on which they reported more paranoia. Conclusions These findings suggest symptom-specific aberrations in everyday IER in psychosis-prone young adults. Moreover, from day to day, young adults (psychosis-prone or not) appear to adjust their use of IER depending on current social motivation and distress levels. Future research should investigate whether these aberrations are dysfunctional regarding social inclusion and symptom trajectories.

Social Support Networks and Faculty Motivation: Insights from Tribhuvan University

Study examines the topic of “Social Support Networks and faculty Motivation." The research aims to shed light on the significant factors influencing teachers' motivation within the context of Tribhuvan University. The study employed a quantitative research design, collecting data from a sample of teaching Faculty within the university. The study utilizes regression analysis to show the impact of four variables on the motivation levels of teaching faculty. SPSS 26 was used to analyze the data. The study revealed that family support and faculty-parent collaboration have a strong positive impact on faculty motivation. On the other hand, faculty -community relations and social recognition of faculty had less significant effects. These findings emphasize the importance of family encouragement and partnerships between faculty and parents in boosting faculty motivation. The study suggests that focusing on family support networks and improving teacher-parent cooperation can be effective ways to enhance faculty motivation in Tribhuvan University. Novelty: This research provides a new perspective i.e. Social Recognition, Faculty Community Relation, Faculty Parent Relation, and Family Support by studying the factors that influence faculty motivation specifically at Tribhuvan University.

The Relationship of The Level of Knowledge, Motivation and Compliance of Nurses To the Implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Mega Buana Palopo Hospitalte

Implementation is a process of putting something into practice which is influenced by internal and external factors. Implementation of occupational health and safety in hospitals concerns the nursing workforce, work methods/methods, work tools, work processes and the work environment which includes improvement, prevention, treatment and recovery. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge, motivation and compliance of nursing staff with the implementation of occupational safety and health at Mega Buana Palopo Hospital in 2023. The method uses a quantitative type of research using analytical observational methods, using a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study amounted to 76 respondents. The sampling technique uses random sampling with research instruments, questionnaires and observations. Data analysis used the Fisher exact test and chi-square test. Factors related to the implementation of occupational health and safety for nurses were a good level of knowledge, namely 68 respondents (89.5%), 74 respondents (97%) were motivated and complied with implementation of occupational health and safety, namely 42 respondents (55.3%). The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p= 0.012), motivation (p = 0.034), and compliance of nursing staff (p= 0.016) with the implementation of hospital occupational health and safety. The level of knowledge, motivation and compliance of nursing staff is related to the implementation of occupational health and safety in hospitals

The level of work discipline, organizational commitment and motivation will greatly influence performance employees at a company. This research aims to determine the influence of work discipline, organizational commitment and motivation on employee performance at PERUMDA Tirta Pakuan, Bogor City. The method used in this research is descriptive and verification. The sampling technique was carried out by distributing questionnaires to 60 employees. The questionnaire was tested using validity tests, reliability tests and classical assumption tests. The data analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis, analysis of the coefficient of determination as well as the F-test and t-test. test results concluded that was simultaneous and partial variables discipline work, commitment organization, motivation influence positive and are significant to employee performance at PERUMDA Tirta Pakuan Bogor City.

Increasing Student Learning Motivation in Mathematics Learning: Literatur Review

Motivation is a crucial factor influencing student performance in the Mathematics learning process. This research aims to identify strategies to enhance student motivation in Mathematics, addressing the common issue of low enthusiasm and reduced classroom activity. The objective is to develop effective teaching methods that increase student perseverance and independent learning in Mathematics. The study applied a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys to measure student motivation levels and qualitative interviews with teachers to explore successful motivational strategies. Data was collected from 200 high school students and 20 Mathematics teachers in Jakarta. Statistical analysis was used to identify significant factors affecting Motivation, while thematic analysis provided insights into effective teaching practices. The results indicate interactive teaching methods, personalized feedback, and real-world problem-solving activities significantly boost student motivation. Students reported higher engagement and better performance when these strategies were implemented. The study concludes that adopting these methods can effectively address low Motivation in Mathematics, improving student outcomes.

NAO robot promoting sensorimotor synchronization in high-functioning autism spectrum disorder children

Objectives Sensorimotor synchronization (SMS) refers to an individual’s motor rhythm is temporally coordinated with a predictable external rhythm. Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) children have weakened SMS performance than typically developing (TD) children, which may affect their relationship with peers and caregivers, and social cognition abilities. Synchronization referent (e.g. an adult or a non-social beat) and the length of inter-stimulus interval (ISI) would influence SMS performance. Methods In this study, we adapted a tapping task to investigate the SMS ability in twenty-one 5–8-year-old high-functioning ASD and twenty-one age-, gender- and IQ-matched TD children. Children were asked to tap on a computer keyboard with videos of a woman or a robot tapping with one finger. We compared the synchronization performance of the two groups when they synchronized with different partners (an adult or an NAO robot) and under different ISIs (800 ms or 1500 ms). The relationships with participants’ autistic traits (Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS-2) and Autism Spectrum Quotient), and cognitive ability (IQ) were also examined. Results We found that ASD children had an overall attenuated synchronizing accuracy and stability than TD children only when ISI was longer than one second. Both groups performed better when synchronized with the NAO robot than the adult partner. The synchronization performance was correlated with the cognitive ability of ASD children when ISI was 1500 ms. Conclusions Results show that tapping with the robot could improve the SMS performance of ASD children since it promoted a higher motivation level. ASD children have an attenuated SMS ability, which may be caused by abnormal temporal perceptions when ISI is longer than one second, while their SMS ability may be intact in sub-second ISIs.

Особенности учебно-профессиональной мотивации студентов — будущих педагогов с разным локусом контроля

<p style="text-align: justify;">The article presents the results of a study of the educational and professional motivation of future teachers with different locus of control. The study involved first-year students of the Pedagogical Education direction (n=80) aged 17 to 21 years (M=18.6; SD=0.83). The following methods were used: “Motivation of studying at a university” (T.I. Ilyina), “Test questionnaire of subjective localization of control” (SLK) (S.R. Pantileev, V.V. Stolin). As a result of the study, it was determined that the locus of control is an important factor determining the educational and professional motivation of first-year students: students with an internal locus of control have a higher level of motivation than students with an external locus of control. Statistically significant differences were revealed in the motives of “gaining knowledge” and “mastering a profession” among students with different locus of control. The indicators of the "graduation" motive do not statistically differ between external and international students. The authors propose recommendations for improving the educational and professional motivation of first-year students in accordance with the peculiarities of their locus of control.</p>

Application of the principle of individualization and personalization in the activity of the state employment service: administrative and legal aspect

The article examines and argues for the use of the principle of individualization and personalization in the work of the State Employment Service, which functions as an executive body. The author considers approaches to individualization and personalization as key elements of state policy regarding employment provision and labor market regulation. The author emphasizes that the analysis of the principles governing the activities of the State Employment Service is a fundamental and critically important aspect for the organization and effective functioning of this institution. The article analyzes the meaning and application of the principle of individualization and personalization in the activity of the State Employment Service in Ukraine from an administrative and legal perspective. The importance of establishing clear normative definitions of these principles is emphasized, as they determine the basic standards and norms for the functioning of state bodies. In particular, insufficient regulation can lead to differences in their understanding and application, complicating the planning and organization of activities. The author analyzes the international experience of applying the principle of “case management” and points out the need to introduce individually oriented support methods for each unemployed person in Ukraine. Particular emphasis is placed on innovations, including the reform of the organizational structure of the State Employment Service, which is aimed at increasing efficiency and customer focus. In particular, the introduction of a career counselor as an institution demonstrates the authority’s desire to provide an individual approach and personalized support to each client. An analysis of the career counselor’s functions confirms its focus on developing individual career plans for clients, taking into account their personal needs and capabilities. Manifestations of the application of the principle of individualization in the activities of the State Employment Service are considered, in particular, through drawing up an individual employment plan with a job seeker. The author emphasizes that this plan is a program of cooperation between the unemployed and a career counselor, aimed at organizing and ensuring the provision of social services in the field of employment. Special attention is paid to the expected positive impact of such an individual approach on the effectiveness of the job search and compliance with the needs of employers . It was concluded that in the context of the activity of the State Employment Service, the principle of individual approach and personalization is manifested in the expansion of the range of services for clients, taking into account their unique needs, level of professional training, motivation and readiness for mobility. This approach becomes an important component of the development strategy of the state employment service and contributes to increasing its effectiveness in achieving the goal of creating conditions for active employment of the population.

School Work Environment in Relation to Teacher Motivation and Teaching Competencies

Cultivating a positive school work environment significantly enhances teacher motivation and competencies. This quantitative study determined the relationship between the school work environment and teachers' motivation and teaching competencies among the faculty at a state college in Zamboanga del Sur during the 2023-2024 school year. The study employed quantitative research methods, utilizing a descriptive-correlational design. The respondents included 105 teachers selected through stratified random sampling. Researcher-made questionnaires on School Work Environment, Teacher Motivation, and Teaching Competencies were the instruments used in the study. Mean, standard deviation, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation were the statistical tools used in data analysis. Results revealed that the teachers' school work environment was rated very good. Teachers were found to be highly motivated and very competent in their teaching roles. Moreover, their work environment was highly correlated with their level of motivation and teaching competence. Hence, the school work environment plays an important role in enhancing teachers' motivation and teaching competencies. School administrators may ensure a positive work environment by providing adequate resources, fostering effective communication, and supporting a collegial atmosphere. Examining Chinese EFL learners’ acceptance of mobile-assisted vocabulary learning applications and its influencing factors

Abstract Significant advancements in mobile technology have offered tremendous potential for mobile-assisted vocabulary learning (MAVL). Given the relatively few studies on learners’ acceptance of MAVL, this study integrates the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with the Self-Determination Theory to assess participants’ acceptance and motivation levels regarding MAVL applications and to identify predictors of users’ intention to utilise these applications. Questionnaire data from 270 Chinese English as a foreign language university students revealed that the participants exhibited a strong intention to learn English vocabulary via mobile applications, and they reported high levels of motivation. Additionally, structural equation modelling analysis results indicated that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived competence accounted for 61 % of the variance in users’ behavioural intention to use MAVL applications, which demonstrated a stronger explanatory power than the original TAM. Perceived autonomy and perceived competence, however, failed to predict usage intention of MAVL. The proposed theoretical framework extends the original TAM and offers implications for application developers, suggesting the importance of designing user-friendly applications.

Nursing core competencies and educational needs in the low- and middle-income country: A cross-sectional study

BackgroundThe government of the Kyrgyz Republic is committed to improving healthcare worker education, and as nurses comprise the majority of healthcare workers, improving nursing education and competency is a critical policy strategy. However, insufficient understanding of nurses' duties and competencies, low levels of professional education and motivation, and the poor reputation of the profession have negatively impacted the development of nursing in the Kyrgyz Republic. AimThis study aimed to identify the core competencies of nursing that are necessary for improving healthcare in the Kyrgyz Republic. DesignThe research design was a cross-sectional study. SettingThe study was conducted from June to November 2022 across the Kyrgyz Republic. ParticipantsA total of ten focus group interviews were conducted with 54 participants, and 289 individuals responded to the survey. MethodsA job analysis was conducted to identify nursing core competencies, followed by focus group interviews. Educational needs were assessed and analysed for importance and performance using the Competency Inventory for Registered Nurses and the Borich Needs Assessment Model. ResultsOf the 289 participants, 97.9 % were female, the mean age was 43.22, and the mean nursing career length was 19 years. Eleven duties were identified as nursing core competencies. Educational needs were highest for teaching-coaching, followed by clinical care and critical thinking and research aptitude, with interpersonal relations being the lowest. Critical thinking and research aptitude, clinical care, and professional development were identified as topics with high importance and educational needs. ConclusionsThe nursing core competencies reflect the emphasis on primary health care in the Kyrgyz Republic, while the educational needs were related to international nursing standards and national nursing education characteristics. The findings can be used to develop a bachelor's-level nursing curriculum in the Kyrgyz Republic to improve nursing care and contribute to improving the health status of the population.

Does academic motivation contribute to the self-esteem of students at the graduate level? A case study of universities in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan

This study explored the impact of students' academic motivation on self-esteem at the graduate level. The respondents of this study were 375 university students enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) program in nine disciplines from all four public sector universities in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Two standardized questionnaires, i.e., the Academic Motivation Scale, a tool consisting of 28 items for measuring academic motivation, and Rosenberg's Scale for measuring self-esteem, consisting of 10 items that measure self-respect by assessing both positive and negative emotional states about the self, were used. In light of the objectives and hypotheses, mean, and standard deviation (SD) were used to find out the level of academic motivation and self-esteem of the students. Linear regression was applied to find out the impact of students' academic motivation on their self-esteem. Moreover, an independent t-test was used to explore the difference in academic motivation and self-esteem between male and female students. There was no significant difference in the academic motivation and self-esteem of the students at the graduate level. The results showed that the university students at the graduate level had a high level of academic motivation and self-esteem. A unit change in overall academic motivation, knowledge, and stimulation parts of intrinsic motivation and identified and external regulation of extrinsic motivation bring 0.678, 0.218, 0.223, 0.122 and 0.172 change in self-esteem, respectively, while the constructs i.e., accomplishment (intrinsic motivation), introjected (extrinsic motivation), and amotivation are non-significant as p > 0.05.

Sustainable Fashion Choices: Exploring European Consumer Motivations behind Second-Hand Clothing Purchases

The second-hand clothing (SHC) market has seen dynamic expansion, driven by shifts in consumer attitudes. However, motivations underlying customer engagement in this market remain largely unexplored. Accordingly, this study investigates factors driving consumer sentiment towards buying used clothing. Data were collected in 2023 from a sample of 254 European consumers. The results show that positive attitudes towards SHC are associated with high levels of economic, hedonic (treasure hunting) and ethical motivations, while strong fashion interest and materialism seem to coincide with more negative evaluations of SHC. Interestingly, treasure hunting motivation emerged as the strongest driver of SHC attitudes, surpassing both economic and ethical motivations, which were similar in strength. However, mediation analysis revealed complex interaction patterns among the attitudinal variables, with the potential of reversing the direction of average regression weights for individuals as well as subgroups of customers. This study offers a more nuanced understanding of consumer behavior in the SHC market. It provides practical recommendations for the marketing strategies of SHC vendors, and lays the groundwork for future research in this area.

A baseline survey of levels of motivation, well-being, and employment preferences of newly qualified social workers in the UK

ABSTRACT The aim of this study is to examine levels of motivation, wellbeing, and employment preferences of newly qualified social workers who graduated in 2022. A mixed-method study design was employed using standardized measurements for wellbeing, measurable scales for motivation and employment preferences, and qualitative questions about job preferences. The online survey was completed by 176 final-year social work students in Northern Ireland during the summer 2022. The current paper reports Time 1 data from a longitudinal project examining levels of motivation, well-being, resilience, and employment preferences of graduates over a 12-month period. Quantitative data were analyzed using SPSS (version 26). Wellbeing scores were compared using Mann-Whitney U tests, and motivation was compared using Fisher’s exact tests. Qualitative data from responses to open-ended questions was analyzed using six-step approach to thematic analysis. There were no significant differences in wellbeing scores or levels of motivation between participants based on age, sex, caring responsibilities, or disability. The majority were motivated to find employment in social work (98.3%), in Northern Ireland (97.7%), in statutory Health and Social Care Trusts (71.1%). However, stakeholders need to improve support systems and stability within teams, enhance remuneration, and ensure workloads are manageable.

Online class-related boredom and perceived academic achievement among college students: the roles of gender and school motivation

Online class-related boredom among college students is an academic emotion most often ignored by the academic community. Therefore, only a few empirical studies have been conducted by research scholars on this subject. From the viewpoint of self-determination theory and the control-value theory of achievement emotion, this research study attempts to investigate the association between online class-related boredom, school motivation, and academic achievement. Accordingly, a total of 1294 Chinese college students are taken on board. Noticeably, the study findings indicate that online class-related boredom among college students exerts a negative correlation with their academic achievement. Furthermore, intrinsic school motivation mediates the relationship between online class-related boredom and academic achievement, whereas extrinsic school motivation also exhibits a relevant effect. Lastly, gender moderates the mediating effect of school motivation between online class-related boredom and academic achievement. Specifically, in male students, increased online class-related boredom is associated with higher levels of extrinsic motivation. In contrast, in female students, increased online class-related boredom correlates with reduced levels of both extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. In the context of research significance, on the one hand, this paper suggests that college teachers should pay due attention to the negative emotions and school motivation of college students in online classrooms, in order to improve teaching practice; on the other hand, this research study further empirically ascertains the control-value theory of achievement emotions and self-determination theory.
