A356 composites with alumina and molybdenum disulfide nanoparticles are a distinct category of engineered materials developed for tribological use. This evolution has led to an attempt to investigate the microstructure and wear behavior of A356 hybrid nanocomposites reinforced with nano Al2O3 (0.5, 1, and 1.5 wt% of Al2O3) and nano MoS2 (0.5 wt% of MoS2) is fabricated by stir casting technique. Wear behavior of A356/ Al2O3/ MoS2 nanocomposites was tested by using the pin on disc equipment. The sliding wear tests were carried out at 10–50 N normal load insteps of 10 N, 2 m/s sliding velocity and 1000–5000 m sliding distance insteps of 1000 m/s. Results have shown that the increase of alumina and the addition of MoS2 nano particles have a positive impact on the improvement of tribological properties of the hybrid nanocomposites. The coefficient of friction and wear rate of hybrid nanocomposites are reduced with the addition of Al2O3 and a solid lubricant MoS2 particle.
