Online Practicum Design (Praton) in Assisting Learning Process of Database Courses in the Information System Department, Universitas Terbuka, Indonesia

The development of technology is an inseparable part of human life. Through its development, technology furthermore produces various reliable tools to assist people in many ways. The technological applications can be in the forms of Google products such as Google Classroom, Google Form, and Google meet, and also other applications such as Zoom Cloud Meeting, Microsoft Teams intended to solve various kinds of problems including education field. These technological advancements are popularly used and are indeed very helpful in learning, but sometimes it can’t be hindered that technological applications are not always in accordance with the needs. For example, the practicum learning process in the Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, Open University, which has no practical application yet. This is because the existing applications are not in accordance with the learning process at the Open University. So, the solution that must be done is to develop an online practicum application (Praton) in the Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology of the Open University. The process of developing a practicum application also cannot be done immediately, so at least there must be an application development design first. Application development design must go through several stages using a software development model. One of the models that can be used is the waterfall model with an object-based approach or commonly referred to as UML (Unified Modeling Language). The results of this software development design are in the form of a software design document and will be sent to a programmer to establish the application. With this application design, programmers will know more about the specifications of online practicum applications that suit the needs of learning process.

Projects Management in Technology Start-ups for Mobile Software Development

The management of the technology start-up company for development of software for mobile devices includes various activities such as creation of specification, development, implementation, sale, and maintenance of software for mobile devices, as well as services for it. Usually the main activity is the production and maintenance of software for mobile devices, but there may be different options and sub-options in the business model of the technology start-up, which are divided into two main categories - products and services. In recent years, there has been a trend to move into a business with service providers. The objective of our study is to outline some specifics about the operation of technology start-up companies for mobile software development in areas such as the management of human and financial resources, choosing the suitable methodology for software development and business model to follow.

PERANCANGAN SISTEM INFORMASI PEMESANAN GAS LPJ BERBASIS ONLINE PADA PANGKALAN TETI TANJUNG MUTIARA KAB. AGAM

This research is motivated by the high interest and demand for LPG gas among the people in Tanjung Muatiara resulting in LPG gas often experiencing scarcity at several gas bases, all because the people only make reservations at bases in their home environment. To get information about LPG gas supplies, the public must visit bases to directly inquire of LPG gas supplies to the base owner. For this reason, through this research a website-based online design and application of LPG gas ordering information system was conducted. The system design in this application program uses the PHP programming language and MySQL database. The software development model used in this study is the waterfall SDLC model often also called sequential linear nods or classic life cycles. This study aims to build an information system that can provide information about LPG gas inventories at Teti Tanjung Mutiara Base and implement a website as a medium to promote and place online orders at Teti Tanjung Mutiara so as to facilitate the ordering process by customers.

IMPLEMENTASI WEB SITE PENGOLAHAN DATA ALUMNI DAN INFORMASI LOWONGAN KERJA DI SMK 3 PANGKALPINANG

Pendataan Alumni sebelumnya sudah ada tapi masih dilakukan secara tertulis dengan menggunakan aplikasi microsoft word oleh sebab itu sering mengalami kesalahan dalam proses pendataan alumni dan keterlambatan dalam pengarsipan dan susah mendapatkan informasi alumni serta untuk memberikan informasi mengenai lowongan sangat lama untuk memberitahukan . Dengan adanya Pembuatan Website ini akan mempermudah untuk melacak keberadaan alumni melalui jaringan internet dan memperoleh informasi pendataan alumni sangat cepat dalam memperoleh mengenai data alumni dan keberadaan tempat bekerja alumni tersebut. Adapun dalam penelitian ini akan dilakukan Implementasi website pengolahan alumni dan Informasi Lowongan dengan menampilkan data profil sekolah serta informasi yang berhubungan dengan keberadaan informasi alumni, informasi lowongan perkerjaaan serta pemberitahuan kegiatan yang akan diadakan disekolah khususnya kegiatan yang berhubungan dengan alumni yang akan ditampilkan dalam web site tersebut. Dengan adanya masalah tersebut maka tampilan fitur-fitur yang akan dibuat melalui web site ini yang berisi informasi profil sekolah, data sekolah serta data alumni agar bisa di akses oleh para alumni dan pihak eksternal lainnya mengenai informasi sekolah. Adapun metode penelitian yang dipakai untuk merancang web site ini model pengembangan perangkat lunak menggunakan Model Fast yang terdiri dari Definis ruang lingkup, Analisa Masalah, Analisa Kebutuhan, Desain Logis. Usulan. Perancangan Database yang digunakan yaitu MySql dan alat yang dipakai untuk mengembangkannya ialah Unified Modeling language. Dari penelitian ini diharapkan mempermudah pihak sekolah untuk melacak data alumni dan mempercepat proses pencarian data serta lebih akurat serta efisien.

A/B testing as an effective instrument for adaptation of the user interface at the iterative model of developing applications for mobile devices

Changing the user interface always entails risks of decreasing application ergonomics and user churn. The purpose of this work is to find methods for changing the user interface without the need to use and increase the number of active users. Using Alpha/Beta testing and analysis of application metrics, it is possible to include design in each iteration and remotely manage the application configuration, which improves the user interface of the application. The way to integrate the UI modification and adaptation phase into an iterative software development model is proposed in this article. The successful user interface improvement experiments that have improved application metrics are described. In this work, the problem was highlighted, lack of information and control over user purchases, which negatively affected the number of purchases. A hypothesis is put forward that the user must have an effective visualization and control tool in the application. As a result of the experiment, the hypothesis was confirmed by an increase in the number of purchases and user activity. There was also a data security issue in the application, which put users at risk of data loss. An experiment was conducted to change the default value of user settings, which led to an increase of the positive metrics for using the data reservation functionality. The problem of polling users is also considered, which is an important component in the process of improving the ergonomics of an application. The method of remote user polling was used, which allowed to receive quick feedback from users and quickly respond to requests from users. The result of the work is the confirmation of the hypothesis of changes in the user interface in the cycles of the iterative development model, the positive dynamics of application metrics, as well as the satisfaction of users with the changes.

Objective: the purpose of the study is to justify approaches to selecting a rational software development model based on the proposed criteria system. Methods: during the research, the methods of decision theory, the method of ranking systems by the set of scalar components, in particular, the method of “hard” ranking, were used. Study result: analysis of the main models of software development was carried out, a system of criteria used to compare different models of software development was considered, proposals for selecting a rational model of software development based on solving the problem of hypervector ranking were developed.

Development and Usability Testing of a Consultation System for Diabetic Retinopathy Screening

This study aims to develop a novel web-based decision support system for diabetic retinopathy screening and classification of eye fundus images for medical officers. The research delivers diabetic retinopathy information with a web-based environment according to the needs of the users. The proposed research also intends to evaluate the developed system usability to the target users. The complex characteristics of diabetic retinopathy signs contribute to the difficulty in detecting diabetic retinopathy. Therefore, professional and skilled retinal screeners are required to produce accurate diabetic retinopathy detection and diagnosis. The proposed system assists the communication and consultation among the medical experts in the hospital and the primary health cares located at the health clinics. The agile software development model is the methodology used for the development of this research project. The project collaborates with the Department of Ophthalmology, Hospital Melaka, Malaysia for the medical content expertise and testing. Representative medical officers from Hospital Melaka and all the public health clinics in Melaka were involved in the preliminary study and system testing. This research study consists of a web development producing an interactive web-based application of diabetic retinopathy consultation which comprises image processing and editing features as a core of the system. It is envisaged that this research project will contribute to the management of diabetic retinopathy screening among medical officers.

Extract transform load process in banking reporting system

Banks must maintain, calculate, and monitor liquidity using the Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR) indicator. In Indonesia, they reported daily, monthly, or quarterly online through a paper template prepared by the Financial Services Authority (OJK). This reporting must accurate and on time or be subject to penalties. For banks that are still processing LCR semi-automatically, this reporting system is an obstacle that they continue to face and resolve. This article discusses the automation process method developed using the concept of Extract Transform Load (ETL), with a waterfall software development model, so that daily reports are generated automatically. This article proposed a methodology to anticipate problems in integrating banking with regulators by applying one of the Basel III frameworks, primarily based on Indonesia's case studies. The finding of the research is a method for the LCR report process through ETL. The proposed ETL method in this research had proven used success in processing LCR in the banking industry. Developing UNYSA Chatbot as Information Services about Yogyakarta State University

This study aims to (1) develop chatbot-based public relations communication media that are able to overcome the limitations of service in interacting and providing information about UNY to the public, (2) ensure the quality of software developed with the ISO/IEC 25010 model. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Agile: Scrum software development model. The results of this study are (1) a chatbot-based PR communication media named UNYSA as an information service about UNY, (2) UNYSA meets ISO/IEC 25010 quality standards on functional suitability characteristics with software developer experts at 0.86 (most features successfully implemented), material experts of 98.82% (Very Eligible), UAT of 83.95% (Very Good); performance efficiency has a latency response of 15 ms (faster than standard speed: 2 seconds); 100% portability (supports all planned frontend apps); usability of 83.81% (Very Eligible); reliability of 92% (Very Feasible), and maintainability with a maintainability index of 83.21 (very easy to maintain).

An Experimental Study of Software Engineering Model for an Large Industry Automation Design

This paper will explain that how the traditional software development models can be used to automate the tasks in large scale industries. Using the SDLC approach, the development of the system can be automated which will save a lot of time and efforts which can be utilised for other crucial tasks. This paper will also brief the life cycle of automation. The advantages and challenges of the implementation of the automation software development will also be explained.

Nowoczesne technologie projektowania systemów automatyki

The paper presents the currently used techniques for the development of the automation control systems. It begins with the introduction of the concepts used in software engineering: software crisis, software disaster, and software life cycle. The subsequent chapters extend the latter by including the most popular software development models. Then, based on the V model, the role of verification and validation in the software and controller life cycle is presented, and the test techniques used in the controller validation are given. These test types include: software in the loop, processor in the loop, and controller in the loop. The last chapter describes the technique of designing automation systems based on the advanced mathematical models Model-Based Design.

The Measurement of the Software Ecosystem’s Productivity with GitHub

Software productivity has always been one of the most critical metrics for measuring software development. However, with the open-source community (e.g., GitHub), new software development models are emerging. The traditional productivity metrics do not provide a comprehensive measure of the new software development models. Therefore, it is necessary to build a productivity measurement model of open source software ecosystem suitable for the open-source community’s production activities. Based on the natural ecosystem, this paper proposes concepts related to the productivity of open source software ecosystems, analyses influencing factors of open source software ecosystem productivity, and constructs a measurement model using these factors. Model validation experiments show that the model is compatible with a large portion of open source software ecosystems in GitHub. This study can provide references for participants of the open-source software ecosystem to choose proper types of ecosystems. The study also provides a basis for ecosystem health assessment for researchers interested in ecosystem quality.

Functional bases of the software development and operation in avionics

The study analyzes the functional principles and approaches to determine the main features of the software used for the aircraft operation. Theoretical aspects of creating the software architecture in the field of civil aviation based on modern approaches to the automation systems development are described. The main regulatory requirements for organizational and technological support of the process of developing software solutions in the field of civil aviation are considered. The peculiarities of the V-shaped model of aircraft operation software development are determined. The documentation for the software should consist of a description of the main blocks of the program, the order of modules integration, system architecture and other formalities that reflect the results of the source code. Based on the described approach to the development of a software package for the aircraft operation, the vision and criteria of the cycle of development of information solutions in the field of civil aviation is created. Depending on the functional characteristics of the obtained software solutions, the final documentation is compiled, which also contains the results of its testing under the conditions of pre-industrial operation. Modern avionics systems have a modular multilevel structure. At the same time, the classical approaches to the development of aircraft operation systems are inefficient, which requires the development of a specific methodology that takes into account the studied subject area. This is due to the need to integrate software for the operation of civil aircraft with third-party software and hardware used for flight control.

A Forensic Analysis Visualization Tool for Mobile Instant Messaging Apps

In this study, we demonstrate the role of visualization to facilitate forensic analysis goal in interpreting metadata of evidence of interest to answer who, what, why, when, where, and how an incident occurred. Two mobile Instant Messaging (IM) applications (i.e. WhatsApp and Line) were deployed as a case study. Subsequently, a tool – W*W Visualizer – was designed and developed with the aims to analyze and visualize the connection of evidence metadata, text frequency and word count, and display report of analysis activities. The tool is developed by adopting Object-Oriented Software Development Model with Visual Studio platform and C# language were used to develop the system. Our findings show that W*W Visualizer could transform the data of the chat database into a visual form, for example graph, chart and word cloud. The tool also allows the user to perform search feature such as searching based on keyword and timestamp from the IM chat history. It is expected that outcomes from this study would significantly influence digital forensics practitioners in analyzing and interpreting evidence data, and judicial authorities in understanding the presentation of evidence.

Construction of a Software Development Model for Managing Final Year Projects in Information Technology Programmes

The final year project (FYP) is considered a capstone course in information technology (IT) programmes and involves the development of a software product. Currently, students are using the traditional software development life cycle approach to manage their FYPs. However, this approach can cause many difficulties. This paper proposes an alternative software development model for managing the FYP in an IT and IT-related degree programmes of study. First, a benchmarking exercise was undertaken to compare the software developed for business purposes with that developed for educational purposes, which took into account the ten project management knowledge areas. The result of this exercise indicated that the differences that exist between business and educational software necessitate the development of a new software development model that is specifically tailored to the development of educational software. Therefore, capability maturity model integration (CMMI) was modified to generate a new version of CMMI – named educational CMMI – which could be used to evaluate educational software projects and detailed mathematical descriptions of the proposed model were composed. As conclusions, the proposed model was then assessed by students’ results and by questionnaire feedback, the results of which showed that the proposed model was both useful and applicable for its intended target users and context.

Design and Implementation of Automatic Code Generation Method Based on Model Driven

With the continuous development of software development technology, people have summarized more and more repetitive work in the process of software development. These repetitive tasks increase the developer’s workload of repetitive coding, extend the market demand response time, and then increase development costs. At the same time, in the team development process, due to the uneven code writing ability among the team members, the coding style is not uniform, and the quality and maintainability of the code cannot be guaranteed. The article builds a software development model from the perspective of public functions such as software addition, deletion, modification, and query. On this basis, a code automatic generation engine based on Rete algorithm is designed to realize rapid software code generation. Application practice shows that this method can quickly generate codes with uniform coding style, and improve software development efficiency and code quality.

End-user centred Adaptation Process of an Educational Exergame to Mobile Platforms

This work presents the educational Exergame “The Incredible Adventures ofApollo & Rosetta in Space” adaptation process to mobile platforms, specifically Tablets. The Exergame was developed for Elementary School children in the school context, presented in previous work. The objective of this work is to propose a combination of three distinct end-user centered techniques in the process of the game adaptation: 1) evolutionary model of software development aimed for games; 2) non-participant observation on game applications with voluntary participants; 3) semi-structured interview with the participants. The methodology allowed the project’s development team to constantly evaluate the game adaptation through prototypes and user tests with four voluntary participants. These user tests were done in pairs during three sessions, with 1- hour session per week. As the results indicated, this end-user centered development enabled an effective portability process of the game between platforms.
