Impact of a Visual-Auditory-Kinesthetic Model-Based Educational Package on Knowledge Regarding Stroke Among Security Guards in a Tertiary Care Teaching Hospital

Background: Stroke is a fatal disease with huge burden worldwide. Nonetheless, it is preventable, provided risk factors are controlled. Modifiable risk factors are associated with 90% of attributable risk for stroke. The growing burden of stroke indicates that the current stroke prevention strategies are either not used properly or insufficiently effective. The study aimed to assess the prevalence of risk factors of stroke and to assess the impact of a VAK (visual-auditory-kinesthetic) model-based educational program on knowledge of stroke among security guards. Materials and Methods: The data were collected in two phases. In the first phase, prevalence of risk factors of stroke among security guards was assessed. In the second phase, the security guards who were found to have high risk of stroke were given the educational package employing the VAK model. The educational package included researcher-developed videos on risk factors and management of stroke, a poster on Act FAST, and a card game on symptoms of stroke. Paired t-test was used to compare the means of knowledge score before and after intervention. Result: The security guards had risk factors for stroke including hypertension (12.7%), smoking (59%), and obesity (29.4%). The security guards showed improvement in knowledge score regarding stroke from a mean score of 9.2 ± 1.9 to a mean score of 16.3 ± 1.2 (P < 0.001) after the educational intervention. Conclusion: Hypertension, smoking, and obesity were the most common risk factors of stroke among security guards. The VAK model-based educational package was effective in improving knowledge of security guards regarding signs, symptoms, risk factors, and action to be taken on any sign of stroke.

Investigating the Effect of a PRECEDE-PROCEED Model-Based Educational Program on Improving the Quality of Life and Laboratory Indicators of Dialysis Patients: A Randomized Training Trial Study

Background: Chronic renal failure is a progressive and irreversible disease that significantly affects the quality of life in its final stage. Objectives: This study was conducted to determine the effect of an educational program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED Model on improving the quality of life and laboratory indicators of hemodialysis patients. Methods: This study is an educational intervention study. The research was conducted in the hemodialysis departments of Imam Khomeini and Ayatollah Boroujerdi hospitals in Boroujerd city. In this 2021 study, 80 hemodialysis patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into two groups: Intervention and control (40 people in each group). The educational content was taught face-to-face by the researcher in four sessions over four weeks, according to the initial needs assessment. Information and laboratory indicators were collected and analyzed based on a researcher-made questionnaire and the standard quality of life questionnaire for kidney patients, both before and one month after the intervention. Results: The average age in the intervention and control groups was 56.55 ± 15.99 and 56.12 ± 15.99, respectively. The average quality of life score one month after the educational intervention was significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group (P < 0.001). The constructs of awareness, attitude, and self-efficacy were significant predictors of behavioral factors. The average scores for awareness, attitude, self-efficacy, behavioral factors, and reinforcing factors one month after the educational intervention were higher in the intervention group than in the control group (P < 0.001). Additionally, the average laboratory indices of hemoglobin (P < 0.001) and hematocrit (P < 0.001) were higher in the intervention group than in the control group one month after the educational intervention. Fasting blood sugar (P < 0.005), sodium (P < 0.020), and cholesterol (P < 0.007) showed a significant decrease after the educational intervention compared to before the intervention. Conclusions: The results of this study showed that the implementation of an educational program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model can improve the quality of life and laboratory indicators in hemodialysis patients. These findings can be utilized by researchers to enhance the quality of life of hemodialysis patients.

Effect of Pender model-based educational program on selected outcomes among menopausal women with musculoskeletal health problems in Cairo

Background Menopause is a critical period in every woman’s life, in which women usually struggle with various bio-psycho-social problems. Aim The purpose of the current study is to evaluate the effect of Pender model-based educational program on selected outcomes among menopausal women with musculoskeletal health problems in Cairo. Design A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest was used. Setting The study was conducted in Outpatient Maternity Clinics at El-Manil Hospital. Sample A purposive sample consisting of 70 menopausal women. Results Showed that there is a significant increase in the total score of knowledge and practice at the poststage. The mean knowledge score increased from 1.1 to 11.4 while the mean practice score increased from 3.8 to 10.2. Conclusions Findings demonstrated menopausal women who received a health educational program had a strong significant direct correlation between knowledge, practice, total benefits, total self-efficacy, and total interpersonal influences, while there is a strong significant inverse correlation between total barriers and all other variables. Recommendation Organizing training programs for menopausal women on musculoskeletal health problems that cover all Outpatient Maternity Clinics in different settings in Egypt.

Effectiveness of a Health Belief Model-Based Education Program on Self-Efficacy and Preparedness for Infectious Disasters in Rural Populations.

Health education programs can enhance self-efficacy and disaster preparedness. However, research incorporating the Health Belief Model (HBM) in education for infectious disasters is lacking. Examine the effectiveness of an HBM-based education program on self-reported self-efficacy and self-reported preparedness for infectious disasters in rural populations. In total, 109 eligible participants were allocated to two groups: participants who received HBM-based education (n = 55) or regular education (n = 54), presented at in-person meetings, with individual follow-up conducted on WhatsApp. Self-reported self-efficacy and preparedness for infectious disasters in both groups were measured at 4 and 8 weeks. Participants showed a significant interaction between groups and in time to increase in self-reported self-efficacy and self-reported preparedness to deal with infectious disasters. After 4 and 8 weeks, the groups had statistically significant differences (p≤.001) in all outcome measures. HBM-based education was associated with increased self-reported self-efficacy and self-reported infectious disaster preparedness among the rural population. Follow-up by nurses is essential to implementing continuing health belief education programs to enhance rural populations' self-efficacy and infectious disaster preparedness.

The effects of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model-based educational program on genital hygiene behaviors: A randomized controlled trial

In this study, we aimed to determine the effects of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model-based educational program on women’s genital hygiene behaviors. A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 120 women diagnosed with genital infections and assigned to the experimental (n = 60) and control (n = 60) groups. Educational intervention was designed based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model and implemented in the experimental group. Data were collected three times before (pretest), right after (posttest) and 1 month after the intervention using the personal information form, Data Form for Knowledge, Attitudes, and Beliefs about Genital Hygiene and Genital Hygiene Behaviors Inventory (GHBI). After the educational intervention, the participants’ hygiene-related knowledge, attitudes and behaviors improved in the experimental group at the posttest and follow-up test from the baseline. A statistically significant difference was found between the groups. We concluded that PRECEDE-PROCEED model-based educational program positively affected the women’s genital hygiene-related knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors.

Effectiveness of a PRECEDE-PROCEED Model-based Educational Program on Health-Related Quality of Life and Preventive Behaviors in Patients with Breast Cancer Undergoing Chemotherapy

Background: Cancer is a chronic disease that affects different aspects of Quality of Life (QoL), including physical, financial, social, and emotional aspects. The PRECEDE-PROCEED model is a comprehensive method for assessing patients’ needs, and designing, implementing, and evaluating health promotion programs to meet their needs. This study aims to determine the effect of an educational program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model on Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) and preventive behaviors in patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: This quasi-experimental impact evaluation study was performed on 90 outpatients with breast cancer (stages I and II) undergoing chemotherapy in Shahid Beheshti Hospital, Kashan, Iran from September 2018 to December 2019. The participants were randomly assigned into two groups of training (n=45) and control (n=45). The training group, in addition to routine care, received the educational program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model at eight two-hour group sessions for one month. The control group received routine care for cancer patients only. The participants completed the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) and a researcher-made questionnaire based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model (assessing predisposing, enabling, and reinforcing factors) before the study, immediately after, and two months after the intervention. Results: In the training group, the total Mean±SD of HRQOL before, immediately after, and two months after the intervention were 52.65±17.14, 64.79±15.66, and 63.95±18.63, respectively. Their total score of HRQOL and its dimensions (physical functioning, role functioning, emotional functioning, and symptoms) increased significantly over time (P<0.01). In this group, the scores of predisposing and enabling factors also increased immediately after and two months after the intervention (P<0.05); however, the score of reinforcing factors (social support) showed no significant increase (P>0.05). Conclusion: The educational program based on the PRECEDE-PROCEED model can improve the HRQOL and preventive behaviors in terms of predisposing factors (knowledge, attitude), and enabling factors (family support) in patients with breast cancer undergoing chemotherapy. We recommend this educational program for improving these patients’ QoL.

Efficacy of precede model-based educational program on women's knowledge and practice regarding cervical cancer prevention

Cervical cancer affects about half a million women every year, and the disease claims nearly 300,000 lives worldwide. The disease is largely preventable. Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in women worldwide and is a major public health problem in poor countries. Aim: To determine the effect of PRECEDE Model-based educational program on women's Knowledge and practice regarding cervical cancer prevention. Design: Quasi-experimental research design pre-post-test was used to achieve the aim of this study. Settings: The study was applied in the gynecological outpatient clinics at Beni-Suef University Hospitals. Sample: A purposive sample of 100 pregnant women was recruited from the selected settings. Tools: Four tools were used: (1) a Structured interviewing questionnaire, (2) Predisposing, Enabling, and Reinforcing Questionnaire (PRECEDE model questionnaire), (3) a pregnant women’s reported practices questionnaire on cervical cancer, and (4) pregnant women’s attitude questionnaire regarding cervical cancer prevention. Results: The current results revealed that the mean score of knowledge, enabling factors, and reinforcing factors have been increased with statistical significance immediately and after one month of the educational program. Pregnant women had adequate practices toward cervical cancer preventive measures post-intervention compared to the pre-educational program.

Effects of educational program based on Precede-Proceed model in promoting low back pain behaviors (EPPLBP) in health care workers Shahid Beheshti University of medical sciences: randomized trial

The PRECEDE-PROCEED model is an adaptable planning model that could be served in public health issues. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of an educational program based on Precede-Proceed model on promoting Low Back Pain (LBP) behaviors among health care workers (HCWs). This Double-blinded randomized trial study was conducted on 112 from 120 HCWs aged from 30 to 55 years The eligible HCWs were randomly divided to intervention group 1 (N = 38), respectively intervention group 2 and control group (N = 37) for which the Precede-Proceed - based educational program was implemented and control group (N = 37). The random multi-stage cluster sampling method was used to recruit HCWs. HCWs completed a self-reported questionnaire on their Low Back Pain Behaviors assessment questionnaire based on the Precede-Proceed Model and a visual analogue scale (VAS) was also used. The data were gathered at initial of the study, 6 and 12 months follow-ups from three groups and were analyzed through SPSS version 19. There was a significant interaction between the factors “group” and “test time” (p < 0.05, p < 0.001) of knowledge, perceived self-efficacy, and attitude, reinforcing factors, enabling factors, public health, quality of life and LBP preventive behaviors of the intervention group., although, no significant alternate became located in the mean score of above structures of the control group. The findings of the present study confirmed the effectiveness of the PRECEDE-PROCEED model-based educational program on preventing LBP by enhancing scores of model constructs. However, these results should be repeated in further studies to be able to apply this program in health system.

The Effect of an Educational Plan Based on the Roy Adaptation Model for Fatigue and Activities of Daily Living of Patients with Heart Failure Disease.

Cardiac failure is one of the most common chronic diseases with high rate of morbidity and mortality. Fatigue and decreased ability to perform daily activities are of the most common complications of this disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of an educational plan based on Roy adaptation model on fatigue and daily activities in patients with heart failure. This experimental study was performed on 60 heart failure patients admitted in two educational hospitals supervised by the Kerman University of Medical Sciences in 2019. Sample was randomly assigned into two intervention and control groups. The intervention group received the care plan through a face-to-face and group training program in 6 sessions at one month. Interval followed by a follow-up period for 4 weeks later. Fatigue level was calculated based on piper fatigue scale, and daily activities were calculated by Barthes scale. The finding indicated that there was a significant difference between the two groups (control and intervention) after the intervention. The result showed that the intervention group had significantly lower mean scores in fatigue and higher mean scores in daily activities compared to the control group after intervention P ≤ .05. There was a significant relationship between fatigue and daily activities of life with frequency of hospitalization and duration of disease in both groups, P ≤ .05. Implementation of Roy model-based education program as a low-cost, effective, and non-aggressive nursing intervention can reduce fatigue, and improve daily activities in patients with heart failure.

Evaluating the effect of Pender's health promotion model on self-efficacy and treatment adherence behaviors among patients undergoing hemodialysis.

INTRODUCTION:Health promotion through lifestyle improvement is an important topic that has received considerable attention from the scientific community worldwide. This study aimed to determine the effect of Pender's health promotion model on self-efficacy and treatment adherence behaviors of hemodialysis patients in Shahrekord, Iran, in 2018–2019.METHODS:This quasi-experimental study was performed on 70 hemodialysis patients who were attending routine hemodialysis sessions in Hajar hospital in Shahrekord. Individuals were selected by simple random sampling and randomly assigned to two groups of control and intervention. In the preintervention stage, all patients completed a questionnaire that was prepared to collect demographic information and measure health-promoting behaviors, self-efficacy, and treatment adherence. The intervention group participated in eight sessions of a health promotion model-based education program. Both groups were asked to complete the questionnaire again immediately after the intervention and also 2 months later.RESULTS:The repeated measures analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the extent of change in mean scores over the three measurement stages (before the intervention, after the intervention, and 2 months after the intervention) (P < 0.001). A statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of self-efficacy scores in the postintervention and follow-up stages (P < 0.05). The repeated measures ANOVA also revealed a significant difference between the two groups in terms of the extent of change in mean treatment adherence scores over the three measurement stages (P < 0.001).CONCLUSION:Considering the positive effects of the program on patients undergoing hemodialysis, it is recommended to use the program to promote the well-being of these patients without time restrictions.

Effect of a Health Belief Model-based education program on patients' belief, physical activity, and serum uric acid: a randomized controlled trial.

ObjectiveWe aimed to investigate the effect of a Health Belief Model (HBM)-based education program on the perception scores of 5 HBM domains, physical activity, and serum uric acid (SUA) among asymptomatic hyperuricemia (AHU) patients in a randomized controlled trial.MethodsOne hundred and ninety-three AHU patients were involved in this prospective experimental interventional study in Shanghai, China. Subjects were randomly divided into interventional or control group. The educational program was designed based on HBM component for the improvement of knowledge and promotion of lifestyle adherence in terms of low-purine diet and physical activity among AHU patients. This program included educational booklets and educational classes. Data were collected from interventional and control group members both before and after the intervention, using a questionnaire covering sociodemographic characteristics, HBM variables, physical activity from the Health-Promoting Lifestyle Profile II, and a check list for recording the subject’s SUA values, as well as the body mass index, waist–hip ratio, systolic blood pressure, and diastolic blood pressure.ResultsIn the interventional group, the mean scores of the HBM variables (perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefit, perceived barriers, and self-efficacy), SUA values, physical activity, body mass index, and waist–hip ratio were improved significantly after the intervention (p<0.05), whereas no significant differences were detected in the control group between baseline and follow-up measures.ConclusionThis study showed the importance of the educational program based on the HBM in improving the model constructs and physical activity, as well as in decreasing the SUA values in AHU patients.

The effects of health promotion model-based educational program on self-care behaviors in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting in Iran.

Background and aimPost-operative self-care behaviors, have positive effects on increase in adaptability, and reduce cardiac surgery patients’ disability. The present study is carried out aimed at determining the effect of education based on a health promotion model on the patients’ self-care behaviors after coronary artery bypass surgery.MethodsThis is a semi-experimental study carried out in Mazandaran (Iran) in 2016. Two hundred and twenty patients who participated in the study were selected using a simple random sampling method from a population of postoperative patients, and divided into control and experimental groups (110 patients in each) using block (AABB) randomization. Self-designed self-care questionnaires based on a health promotion model were distributed among the patients once before and three months after intervention. The data were analyzed by SPSS-22, Chi-Square tests, Mann-Whitney and ANCOVA at the significance level of p<0.05.ResultsThe average score of total self-care behaviors in cardiac surgery patients was not significant between the two groups before education (p=0.065), but after training, a significant difference was observed between the two groups (p<0.001). The analysis of ANOVA with repeated measure indicated that following the intervention, significant difference was observed between the two groups in terms of improvement of self-care behaviors after excluding the effect of pre-test and controlling demographic and health-related characteristics.ConclusionsDeveloping and implementing a training program based on the health promotion model can enhance self-care behaviors and reduce the number of admissions in patients after cardiac surgery.

Effect of a transactional model education program on coping effectiveness in women with multiple sclerosis.

ObjectivesMultiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic and progressive disease that causes stress due to its unpredictability and lack of definitive treatments. This study examined the effects of an educational program using a transactional model to help women with MS cope with their disease.Materials and MethodsIn a randomized clinical trial, 80 female patients from the MS Society of Iran were randomized to the intervention (n = 40) or a control group (n = 40). Outcomes were assessed using Cohen's Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) and the Jalowiec Coping Scale (JCS), which were completed by both groups at baseline, 1 month, and 3 months after the intervention. The intervention consisted of six educational sessions administered over 2 months based on a transactional model. The data were analyzed using repeated measures ANOVA.ResultsAverage PSS scores decreased significantly over time in the intervention group, while increasing in the control group. Between‐group differences were significant at both 1‐month and 3‐month follow‐up (p < .001). Both problem‐focused and emotion‐focused coping styles improved over time in use and effectiveness in the intervention group, whereas little or no change occurred in these coping behaviors in the control group.ConclusionThe transactional model‐based education program tested here was successful in reducing stress levels and increasing healthy coping styles in women with MS. If these findings are replicated in future studies, widespread adoption of this program may help women with MS cope more successfully with their disease.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Nutritional Education based on Health Belief Model on Self-Esteem and BMI of Overweight and at Risk of Overweight Adolescent Girls

Background Due to significant increases in the prevalence of overweight and obesity in adolescents in developed countries, much attention has been focused on this issue. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of nutritional education based on Health Belief Model (HBM) on self-esteem and body mass index (BMI) of overweight and at risk of overweight adolescent girls. Materials and Methods: The study subjects consist of 140 female students recruited from two high schools, who were randomly allocated to the intervention (n=70) and control (n=70) groups. The data collection instrument included sections on socio-demographic status, transportation method, physical status, and knowledge and attitudes of the students towards nutrition, which was designed according to HBM. As the intervention, model-based educational program was implemented through six 60-minute sessions, focusing on the overweight and at-risk students. Results were compared in the beginning, and three months after the intervention to find the possible impacts. Results: Average score of model structures and self-esteem of students in both groups had no significant difference at baseline, but immediately after the intervention and 3 months after treatment, the mean component scores were significantly higher in intervention group than controls (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the control group between the mean scores of model structures and self-esteem at different times. There was a significant difference at different times in component scores in the experimental group (P<0.05). The mean score of BMI in the control group had no significant difference in different time. Significant difference in BMI scores was seen at different times in experimental group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The positive effect of this program was seen among the participants. Therefore such interventions in schools for developing effective long-term healthy behaviors have preventive and controlling effects on overweight.

Effect of a model-based educational program for mothers, on home-related injury prevention among under-five-year children in rural Twiserkan, Iran

Children under 5 years of age are most vulnerable in terms of home-related injuries. As a majority of these injuries are predictable and preventable, it is important to design preventive intervention programs that can be utilized as models of health education. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of an educational program, using the PRECEDE model, for rural mothers, on home-related injury prevention among under-five-year old children. This quasi-experimental study was conducted on 72 mothers, with at least one under-five-year old child, in the rural areas of Twiserkan (Toyserkan) County in Iran. The intervention and control groups (36 participants in each), were interviewed in pre/post-test study by trained interviewers, using the questionnaire. The intervention group participated in four educational sessions. The questionnaire included the questions on demographic information, mothers` beliefs and caring in relation to child-injury prevention, based on the PRECEDE model and focusing on predisposing factors (knowledge and attitudes), enabling factors; reinforcing factors; and mothers` preventive behaviors. According to the results of the study, the mean scores of predisposing factors (knowledge), enabling and reinforcing factors and also mothers` behaviors on injury prevention, did not have significant differences between two groups before intervention, whereas they had significant differences after intervention. This study showed that the educational program, using the PRECEDE model, can be effective on promoting knowledge and performances of mothers in relation to home-related injury prevention among their under-five-year old children.

The impacts of a health belief model-based educational program on adopting self-care behaviors in pemphigus vulgaris patients.

Introduction:Since pemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a chronic disease and regarding its autoimmune nature, patients need to adopt self-care behaviors. This study aimed to assess the impacts of an educational program based on health belief model (HBM) on adopting self-care behaviors among patients with PV referred to Razi Hospital.Materials and Methods:Eighty-eight patients with PV were randomized in an educational intervention study in two groups in 2013–2014. The intervention group attended a 6 months self-care educational program in a specialized outpatient clinic, in addition to the regular care presented for both groups. To collect information about demographic characteristics, PV-related variables, and HBM constructs items, a self-designed questionnaire was used. Data were analyzed by SPSS 20. A P < 0.05 was considered as statistically significant.Results:Increase in perceived susceptibility, severity, and benefits score were significantly higher in intervention group compared with controls when adjusting for the difference in baseline scores of these HBM constructs and house ownership and employment status distribution in two groups using ANCOVA (P < 0.001). Furthermore, after intervention, the decrease in perceived barriers’ scores was significantly more than controls (P < 0.001), However, the decrease in cues to action score was not found significant (P = 0.380).Discussion:The results of this study show the effects of an HBM-based educational program as a tertiary preventive measure on adopting self-care behaviors in patients that can help them achieve self-efficacy in controlling their disease and enhancing their treatment process.

Evaluating a Health Belief Model-Based Educational Program for School Injury Prevention among Hard-of-Hearing/Deaf High School Students

Background and Objectives: While all students are vulnerable to injuries, such vulnerability may even be higher in the deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Therefore, this study evaluated a health belief model-based educational program to prevent school injuries among deaf and hard-of-hearing high school students. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted on all deaf and hard-of-hearing students who attended two special schools in Hamadan (Iran) during 2014. They were randomly assigned to either the intervention group (n = 23) or the control group (n = 27). Data were collected using a self-report questionnaire containing items on demographic characteristics, constructs of the health belief model, and knowledge and preventive behaviors. In both groups, the questionnaires were filled out through interviews before and two months after the intervention. The intervention included distributing booklets and holding five educational sessions. Data were analyzed with paired t, independent t, chi square, and Fisher’s exact tests in SPSS16. Results: After the educational intervention, the mean scores of knowledge (P=0.002), preventive behaviors (P=0.001), and constructs of the health belief model, i.e. perceived severity (P=0.001), perceived benefits (P=0.001), self-efficacy (P=0.001), and cues to action (P=0.001), were significantly higher in the intervention group than in the control group. Conclusion: According to our findings, an educational intervention based on the health belief model can promote behaviors to prevent school injuries among deaf and hard-of-hearing students.

The effectiveness of educational intervention based on PRECEDE model on the level of stress among the elderly at elderly clubs

Introduction:The elderly are vulnerable to negative effects of stress factors; so, the present study was conducted to determine the effect of educational intervention based on the PRECEDE model on stress level of the elderly and to control stress factors.Materials and Methods:In this quasi-experimental study, 94 elderly people from the clubs for the elderly in Tehran were randomly divided into case and control groups in 2008–2009. Planning for the educational program was done according to the PRECEDE model. Before implementing the program, valid and reliable depression, anxiety, and stress questionnaires (DASS 21) were completed for both groups. The experimental group received the educational intervention based on the PRECEDE model (eight sessions, one session per week), and both groups were followed up two months after the intervention (the previous questionnaires were filled again). DASS 21 Scoring and Interpretation Generator was used for calculating scores of the questionnaires. Finally, the data obtained were analyzed by the SPSS 15 software using t-test, paired t-test, and Mann-Whitney test at a significant level of P≤0.05.Results:The findings showed significant differences between the experimental group and control group in terms of predisposing factors of knowledge (P≤0.001) and attitude (P≤0.001), enabling factors (P≤0.001), reinforcing factors (P≤0.001), and functioning especially in deep breathing and relaxation techniques (P≤0.001). Mean scores and severity of stress were significant after the intervention (P≤0.001).Conclusion:The findings of the present study confirmed the effectiveness of the PRECEDE model-based educational program on preventing or reducing stress level in the elderly.
