Examining How Mixed Reality Technology Can Facilitate Immersive Learning in Digital Transformation Practices in English Language Education

Abstract Abstract In the digital era, mixed reality technology is widely used in several fields, especially in education. After exploring the application of mixed-reality technology in the field of education, this paper introduces it to English teaching, constructs an English immersive mixed-reality teaching model, and develops an online English platform based on mixed-reality technology. Taking the English majors of a school as the experimental subjects, the English immersive mixed reality teaching mode is put into teaching practice, and the application effect of the mixed reality teaching mode is evaluated through the data analysis of test indicators and students’ attitudes. Then, using structural equation modeling, a study was conducted on how mixed reality technology promotes immersive learning in English teaching. Students found the English immersion teaching model based on mixed technology to be more satisfactory, with evaluation scores exceeding 4 for each indicator. The promotion effect of mixed reality technology on learning immersion is moderate (0.46~0.58), and it further promotes students’ English learning immersion through the enhancement effects of spatial proximity, realism, interaction, and social proximity.

Implementation Mechanism of Industry-Education-Creation Mixed Ownership Industrial College Based on AHP Fuzzy Evaluation Model

Abstract The management of modern industrial colleges is the deepening and developing the fusion of industry-teaching-creation and school-enterprise cooperation talent cultivation mode, which has strategic height and practical significance. This paper establishes the evaluation index system of the implementation mechanism of industrial colleges based on BSC theory. It creates the implementation mechanism model of mixed teaching and learning in industrial colleges. Combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, the hierarchical and fuzzy hierarchical analysis methods are used to construct the hybrid teaching quality evaluation model of industry-teaching-creation. Then the weights of the evaluation indexes of the implementation mechanism of industrial colleges are calculated. The industrial colleges of college A and college B are selected as the research objects to comprehensively evaluate the implementation effect of their mixed industry-teaching-creation teaching. The optimal model is determined by calculating the comprehensive scores of the five industry-education-creation hybrid teaching implementation mechanisms. The study shows that the highest weight of finance is 0.333. The total scores of college A and B are 80.56 and 83.33, and college B has a higher level of industry-teaching-creation hybrid teaching implementation mechanism. The composite score of the co-constructed science and technology park model is 0.233, the optimal mixed teaching implementation mechanism of Industry, education and creativity.

An Intelligent Model of Mixed Teaching of Business English in Colleges and Universities in the Information Age

Abstract With the rise of foreign trade, various industries have increased the demand for foreign language talents, and colleges and universities have paid more attention to the intelligent teaching of business English. Based on this, this paper proposes a dynamic time regularization recognition algorithm (DTW). It improves the recognition efficiency of the algorithm, preprocesses the speech signal, and selects the feature parameter MFCC. The improved DTW algorithm is used to construct an intelligent mode of mixed teaching of business English in colleges and universities, and the learning effect of the students majoring in business English is calculated and evaluated. The research object of this paper is students majoring in business English at college C and is conducted by conducting experimental research on their oral learning, article writing ability, and learning attitude. From the results of oral teaching, the coefficient of variation P-values before and after the application of each group are 0.000, 0.002 and 0.000 respectively, which are all less than 0.05, indicating that students with different English fundamentals have a more significant effect of improving their performance after applying the mixed teaching mode. Before the application, the average score for article writing increased from 59.67 to 64.50. In terms of affective attitude and value, the learning interest risen from 2.75 to 2.97, with the most significant improvement Thus, it can be seen that the intelligent hybrid teaching mode constructed in this paper can effectively improve the teaching effect of business English in colleges and universities.

A study on the application of mixed reality technology in experimental teaching in economic colleges and universities

Abstract With the continuous development of the computer field, mixed reality technology is increasingly used in various fields of life. This paper aims to create a mixed reality interactive experimental teaching system for economic colleges and develop the overall framework of the system using the target detection algorithm. It first designs the interaction system module based on monocular visual spatial localization. Then it builds a teaching evaluation system based on face detection, recognition, and gesture estimation for the experimental teaching of economic colleges and universities for the mixed reality interaction system. This paper empirically analyzes the proposed mixed reality interaction system for experimental teaching in economic colleges. It can achieve a processing speed of 19 frames per second and a high recognition accuracy of 88.23% in the teaching test. The average scores of each index after the testers’ use are above 4, and the average value of the system’s overall score is 4.66. This study has excellent performance and provides a practical roadmap and reference value for developing mixed reality technology in the direction of experimental teaching.

Resident Perceptions of Simulcast Teaching: A Qualitative Study.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, medical education programs were challenged to optimize learning while balancing social interaction with exposure risk. In response, our internal medicine (IM) residency program transitioned to "simulcast" educational sessions. In simulcast sessions, multiple small groups of learners met in person in separate rooms and connected to the large-group session via videoconferencing. This qualitative study describes IM residents' perceptions regarding the advantages and disadvantages of learning in simulcast compared to virtual and in-person settings during the pandemic. Categorical IM residents at Penn State during the academic year 2020-2021 were invited to participate. Eligible residents participated in one 30-min virtual, semistructured focus group. We used inductive thematic coding to analyze resident responses. Forty-eight percent (n = 29/60) of invited residents participated in focus groups. In the simulcast setting, participants felt more accountability to participate in their small groups compared to a larger group or virtual setting. Educational experiences varied based upon facilitator skill level. Overall, in-person settings were preferred to virtual, when possible, due to increased social connection. Respondents identified educator enthusiasm and presentation quality as key to engagement regardless of setting. Residents had variable responses to the simulcast setting based upon their comfort with participation by group size, desire for social connection, and perception of teaching strategies. The key identified pitfalls to simulcast teaching were resident discomfort in small groups, heterogeneous learning experience, lack of engagement, and technology challenges. These pitfalls can be mitigated through strategic distribution of learners in groups, trained facilitators, and interactive teaching modalities. Given that simulcast and mixed (simulcast, virtual, and in-person) teaching settings are here to stay postpandemic, anticipating pitfalls and creating adaptable educational content that translates in multiple settings is crucial.

Abstract The blended teaching mode combines the advantages of online and offline teaching, which can improve the effect of university physical education teaching. The article takes the acquisition path of students’ multidimensional learning behavior data as the entry point, introduces the data preprocessing method after acquiring online learning behavior, and then establishes the online-offline blended teaching quality evaluation index system for physical education classes based on the CIPP model. The subjective and objective weights of the evaluation indexes are solved by using the AHP method and the improved pull-apart grade method, and the comprehensive, integrated assignment method is introduced to weigh the subjective and objective weights in order to obtain the comprehensive weights. Based on the weights of the indicators obtained by AHP-ISD, a teaching quality assessment model for physical education courses was established by combining the SVM model, and the SMO algorithm was selected to optimize the training of the model. To assess the application effectiveness of the model, a comprehensive assessment of its teaching quality was carried out, and the teaching effect of the blended teaching mode was also explored. The weight of the learning outcome evaluation index is 0.438 at most, the accuracy of the SMO algorithm training model is up to 99.99%, and the range of error scores between the model evaluation value and the actual value is between [0.01,0.03] points. The teaching quality assessment model based on the assignment method can obtain more accurate teaching quality assessment results for physical education courses and provide a new direction for optimizing the hybrid teaching assessment method of physical education courses.

Due to this occasion, lots of teaching methods have been derived, including mixed teaching, which combines both online and offline learning processes, to help the students better learn English conveniently and easily to review the knowledge that they had learned. This paper mainly focuses on the app called Rain Class, which has been extensively used by many Chinese college students majoring in English and has many distinct functions which could benefit both teachers and students. Therefore, this study focuses on the benefits that this app brings to TESOL blended learning and seeks students’ comprehensive understanding of their knowledge. By examining its benefits and possible limitations, this paper provides a thorough reference for future studies in technology-facilitated language learning, especially in the area of using mobile apps in higher education English classes.

Instrumental analysis is an important part of analytical chemistry, which plays a crucial role in cultivating the experimental operation ability of students in disciplines such as environment, geology, and medicine. Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is currently an irreplaceable basic equipment in inorganic element analysis, and incorporating it into experimental teaching content is a requirement of the times. However, there is still a lack of application in this area. This article focuses on the graduate course “Modern Detection Technology”. The experimental course adopts a mixed teaching mode of pre class theoretical guidance and in class emphasis on practical operation. It combines theoretical and practical teaching organically, and takes the current hot topic of radioactive pollution as the problem orientation. The teaching mainly focuses on analyzing experimental design, instrument operation and use, sample measurement and result analysis, etc. The teaching mode and content of ICP-MS continuously explored to improve the quality of experimental teaching and enable students to comprehensively enhance their basic skill knowledge, scientific research literacy, and innovation awareness.

Research on Strategies for Improving Primary School Chinese Pinyin Ability Based on Blended Learning

The teaching of Pinyin is the basis of Chinese teaching in primary schools. The level of Chinese spelling ability will have a direct impact on students’ future learning and cognition of things. How can we better improve the classroom quality of primary school Chinese and the learning efficiency of students? This is a question that needs to be considered. In the teaching process, blended learning can fully leverage students’ subjectivity and teachers’ leadership, thereby improving students’ overall level. Through conducting educational quasi experiments, selecting the same teaching content for teaching design, selecting research subjects, and setting up experimental and control groups in the experiment, the experimental group adopts a mixed teaching mode, while the control group continues to use traditional teaching mode. Finally, test questions are used for summary evaluation and interviews with parents. The implementation effect is summarized through data analysis. The experimental results show that compared with traditional single classroom teaching, The blended learning classroom is lively and interesting, effectively solving problems such as students’ difficulty in reading tones and overall recognition of syllables. From this, it can be seen that the blended learning mode is one of the effective ways to improve primary school Chinese spelling ability. During the learning process, tasks are assigned online before class, materials are collected, and various teaching methods are used to analyze and expand after class. Students use blended learning mode to preview online, expanding knowledge in offline classrooms, this learning model also provides ideas for teaching other teaching content.

Analyzing the efficacy of Higher Vocational Online-Offline Blended Teaching using Koch’s Model

Abstract With the development of the Internet, the traditional offline teaching mode cannot fully meet the current teaching needs, and mixed-mode teaching with informationization characteristics has received widespread attention. By combining the BTS subjective empowerment method and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method, this paper creates the BTS-entropy weight-fuzzy comprehensive evaluation model for online and offline hybrid teaching. Based on Koch’s model, the evaluation index system of online blended teaching is constructed from four levels: reaction, learning, behavior, and result. On this basis, the four levels of Koch’s model were empirically analyzed to calculate the online and offline blended teaching effect of the school, taking six majors of School J as an example. The results are as follows: from the point of view of the coefficient of variation of the reaction layer, the coefficient of variation of each index is less than 15%, and the consistency is high. From the learning layer scores, the coefficient of variation of the learning layer indicator scores of each major is 10% < 15% and the coefficient of variation of the behavior layer indicators from each major is 19% > 15%, which indicates that the degree of dispersion of each major in the behavior layer is higher, and the variability of the total scores of each major is larger. The coefficient of variation of the outcome layer indicators is 3.8% <15%. To sum up, Koch’s model can provide more exact assessments of the effectiveness of mixed teaching in higher vocational education and provide effective feedback in real-time.
