Analysis of the 100 most cited articles on ameloblastoma.

An increasing number of articles are published each year. The aim of this is to provide a list of the 100 most cited articles on the subject of ameloblastoma. A bibliographic search was performed on Google Scholar (GS), Microsoft Academic (MA), and Dimensions for ameloblastoma. A ranking was created in order of citation density. Graphical representations of keywords and authorship were created with VOSviewer. Statistical analysis was performed and only results with a 95% confidence interval were considered significant. A helpful list of top 100 articles was developed to help professionals in a variety of ways. Some curiosities are discussed about this scientometric analysis in ameloblastoma articles. A useful list of the top 100 most cited articles on ameloblastoma has been provided. Bibliometric and altmetric analysis using Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, and Dimensions is a free and excellent tool, not only as a citation manager but also as a study reference.

Systematic Literature Review: Investigating Speaking Challenges Among ESL Learners During the Covid-19 Pandemic

Effective verbal communication in the English language poses many challenges for Malaysian students. As English is not their first language, the average Malaysian finds it difficult to attain the required speaking proficiency. COVID has only exacerbated this problem. Moving from a traditional classroom setting to an online one limits cohesive and effective verbal communication between the spreader and listener (s). Both students and teachers had to switch from traditional classroom instruction to online classroom instruction with various devices and technologies as their main means of communication. As a result, this study provides a systematic review of pertinent existing research into Investigating Speaking Challenges among English Language Learners (ESL) in Online Classrooms. We concentrated on 51 articles from the year 2006 to the year 2021, from a few databases. Google Scholar, ERIC, Microsoft Academic, and ResearchGate were referred to. The review begins with a search and scanning of suitable articles related to this study before selection. Most of these articles disclosed speaking challenges and provided positive solutions to overcome them during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both students and teachers dealt effectively with psychological issues such as shyness, lack of confidence, and anxiety, as well as technological aspects. Overall, this review gave some insights into the difficulties that ESL students have when they speak, as well as many ways to deal with them when learning online.

Suicide and self-harm in low- and middle- income countries during the COVID-19 pandemic: A systematic review.

There is widespread concern over the potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on suicide and self-harm globally, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) where the burden of these behaviours is greatest. We synthesised the evidence from the published literature on the impact of the pandemic on suicide and self-harm in LMIC. This review is nested within a living systematic review (PROSPERO ID CRD42020183326) that continuously identifies published evidence (all languages) through a comprehensive automated search of multiple databases (PubMed; Scopus; medRxiv, PsyArXiv; SocArXiv; bioRxiv; the WHO COVID-19 database; and the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset by Semantic Scholar (up to 11/2020), including data from Microsoft Academic, Elsevier, arXiv and PubMed Central.) All articles identified by the 4th August 2021 were screened. Papers reporting on data from a LMIC and presenting evidence on the impact of the pandemic on suicide or self-harm were included. Methodological quality was assessed using an appropriate tool, and a narrative synthesis presented. A total of 22 studies from LMIC were identified representing data from 12 countries. There was an absence of data from Africa, the Pacific, and the Caribbean. The reviewed studies mostly report on the early months of COVID-19 and were generally methodologically poor. Few studies directly assessed the impact of the pandemic. The most robust evidence, from time-series studies, indicate either a reduction or no change in suicide and self-harm behaviour. As LMIC continue to experience repeated waves of the virus and increased associated mortality, against a backdrop of vaccine inaccessibility and limited welfare support, continued efforts are needed to track the indirect impact of the pandemic on suicide and self-harm in these countries.

Predicting the impact of no. of authors on no. of citations of research publications based on neural networks

Any work's citations are regarded as a key characteristic that leads to its appraisal and study. Citations are one of the most important indicators of a research publication's quality. Citations can have a favorable or bad impact on any piece of work or publication depending on a variety of circumstances, including author skill, publication venue, research topic, and so on. The goal of this study is to see how the number of co-authors affects the number of citations in research papers. There will be a correlation analysis between the number of co-authors and the number of citations for research articles, and we will observe how the number of co-authors affects the number of citations for publications. Citation data is gathered from databases such as DBLP, ACM, MAG (Microsoft Academic Graph), and others. There are 629,814 papers and 632,752 citations in the initial version. We use two methods to examine the impact of co-author count on the number of citations in a research paper: (i) Pearson’s correlation coefficient (PCC), and (ii) multiple regression (MR). To test the impact of co-author count on citation count of research publications, we calculate Pearson’s correlation coefficient (ra) between the two variables number of authors (NA) and citation count (CC). We also calculate Pearson’s correlation coefficient between the citation count (CC) and the most effective variables to compare between the impact of the number of authors and the impact of the other factors such as (i) rc between number of countries (NC) and citation count (CC). (ii) rv between venue category (VC) and citation count (CC). (iii) ry between Year_From (YF) and citation count (CC). Empirical evidence shows that co-authored publications achieve higher visibility and impact. To predict the number of citations from the previously mentioned factors (NA, NC, VC, and YF), we use multiple linear regression (MLR). The goal of multiple linear regression (MLR) is to model the linear relationship between the explanatory (independent) variables and response (dependent) variables. The higher R-square, the tight relationship exists between dependent variables and independent variables. It is observed that the R-square decreases in the case of removing NA which means that the NA is the most influential factor (the relation between NA and CC is the most powerful relation). The main originality of this paper is to introduce an effective prediction module (EPM) which uses probabilistic neural network (PNN) to predict the number of citations from the most effective factors (NA, NC, VC, and YF).

Inventory on the family Trigonalidae (Insecta: Hymenoptera)

What little is known about the biology of the Trigonalidae Family indicates a remarkably unlikely life story: in nearly every known species, females place thousands of tiny eggs, either "squeezing" them around the edges or injecting them inside the leaves. The egg must then be consumed by a caterpillar. Once inside the caterpillar, the trigonalid egg hatches and attacks any other parasitoid larvae (including its siblings) on the caterpillar, or waits until the caterpillar is killed and fed to a wasp larva, which then attacks. The aim of this manuscript was to carry out an inventory of the Family Trigonalidae (Insecta: Hymenoptera) related to its biogeography, bioecology, habitat, geographic distribution, taxonomy, life cycle, phenology and taxonomic and conceptual aspects of the Family, Subfamilies and Species. For this, a bibliographic survey of Trigonalidae was carried out in the years 1905 to 2021. Only complete articles published in scientific journals and expanded abstracts presented in national and international scientific events were considered. Importance of the Scatophagidae family as efficient predators of blowflies (Insecta: Diptera)

The biology of the larvae give Scathophagidae is very varied. Most live on dung, hence the family name. Some feed on plants (leaf miners, stem borers, or seed eaters), are aquatic predators, and are predators of other insect larvae in moist environments, such as piles of decaying vegetables, algae, or manure. Adults are predators of other insects. They are often found in flowers where they are usually stalking prey, not looking for pollen or nectar. Indeed, they are one of the most efficient predators of blowflies and for this reason they are considered beneficial insects. The objective of this literature review was to verify the importance of the Scatophagidae Family as efficient predators of blowflies (Insecta: Diptera). With emphasis on conceptual and taxonomic aspects was carried out in the years 1934 to 2021. Lesser-known leafy vegetables of Southeastern Nigeria (Vitex doniana and Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides)

Vitex doniana and Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides are plants grown in the Southeastern part of Nigeria. They have been used traditionally as food and in medicine, also in teeth cleaning and as a mouth wash to reduce pain. The availability of these plants has sparked a surge in interest in knowledge about their supplements and contents, including nutrients, mineral components, and bioactive chemicals, which are critical for drug discovery and development. Compounds derived from them have been used as effective pharmaceuticals throughout human history. This review is aimed at providing a comprehensive report on the chemical constituents, traditional uses, biological and pharmacological activities of Vitex doniana and Zanthoxylum zanthoxyloides. Information was sourced from literatures using search engines such as Google, Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic, ResearchGate, and Semantic Scholar. The plants were found to contain natural products such as alkaloids, phenolics, tannins, saponins, glycosides, steroids, proteins, carbohydrates, anthraquinones, resins, lignans, lipids, allicins, balsams, hydroxycinnamic acid, oleanolic acid, esters, norisoprenoids, anthracene, essential oils and terpenes, which seem to correlate with their antioxidant potentials. They have gained interest recently due to the presence in them of varieties of their bioactive compounds. Biological and pharmacological studies revealed that they possess antioxidant, anti-cancer, antimalarial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial activities and hepatoprotective properties. In addition, the alkaloidal content of V. doniana and Z. zanthoxyloides can enhance serum biochemical parameters, repair cellular damage and fibrosis in the liver, and control hepatocyte activity.

Family Braconidae as a parasitoid of insect pests for the world fruit industry

The Braconidae Family are wasps mainly of parasitic habits. Members of the Mesostoinae are not parasitic but rather form galls on plants. In many species polyembryony occurs: an egg multiplies clonally producing many individuals. The larva develops on or inside the body of its host, mainly other insects with complete metamorphosis (holometabolous) and some with simple metamorphosis (hemimetabolous). The family has two major lineages: the cyclostomes and the non-cyclostomes, this condition is related to the shape of the clypeus. According to biology, two groups can be found: idiobionts and koinobionts (cenobionts). The aim of this study is to describe the phenology of the Braconidae Family (Hymenoptera: Braconidae). In its conceptual and taxonomic aspect. To this end, a bibliographic survey of Braconidae was carried out in the years 1989 to 2021. Leading countries in global science increasingly receive more citations than other countries doing similar research

Citations and text analysis are both used to study the distribution and flow of ideas between researchers, fields and countries, but the resulting flows are rarely equal. We argue that the differences in these two flows capture a growing global inequality in the production of scientific knowledge. We offer a framework called ‘citational lensing’ to identify where citations should appear between countries but are absent given that what is embedded in their published abstract texts is highly similar. This framework also identifies where citations are overabundant given lower similarity. Our data come from nearly 20 million papers across nearly 35 years and 150 fields from the Microsoft Academic Graph. We find that scientific communities increasingly centre research from highly active countries while overlooking work from peripheral countries. This inequality is likely to pose substantial challenges to the growth of novel ideas.

IMPORTANCE OF BIO FERTILIZERS AS ALTERNATIVE SOIL FERTILITY AMENDMENTS

There is a current interest in agrarian sustainability with soil microorganisms instead of agro-chemicals. Key constraints in the use of bio fertilizers are; inadequate awareness about bio inoculants and lack of promotion network and publicity among the end users. This review discusses current technical information a way of creating awareness in order to promote the use of bio fertilizers. Publon, Google Scholar, Science Direct and Microsoft Academic data bases were used for the review 2021. Research and review articles published from 2019 onwards were considered as current information for the review. The findings of the review are that; both primary and secondary macronutrients can be provided by bio fertilizers. Potential microbes are; free-living nitrogen fixing bacteria and cyanobacteria, symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria and fungi such as mycorrhiza. Other important functions of bacteria are; conferring to plants the ability for salt tolerance, lignin degradation and remediation of heavy metals from the soil. Bio Compost, vermicompost and termite soil with their rich microorganism content can be used as bio fertilizers for soil nutrient increase. In order to reap maximum benefit from bio fertilizers there is need to formulate them in appropriate materials. Apart from addition of nutrients to the soil, bio fertilizers play an important role in plant health, conclusion. This paper has brought to the fore the need to improve rhizosphere management in a sustainable way particularly at this point in time when there are strong indications that it has deteriorated in the face of continued use of chemical fertilizers.

Importance of Sphaeroceridae family as accelerators of the putrefaction process, nutrient recycling and in its association with the cadaveric decomposition process (Insecta: Diptera)

The family is recognized for participating in the decomposition process of all kinds of organic material, being able to be polysaprophagous or specialists. They found each other in some of their life phases feeding on resources such as: fungi feces of various animal’s carcasses of invertebrates and carcasses of vertebrates. Despite their diverse biology, their medical and economic importance is not relevant, being potential mechanical transmitters of pathogens. They are pests in cheese industries, reducing the sanitary standards of manufacturing. There are also reports of intestinal miiase and damage to the cultivation of mushrooms. Carrion-feeding species are useful post mortem interval indicators in Forensic Entomology. Larvae of the Family Eupelmidae as parasitoids of arthropods (Arthropoda: Insecta: Hymenoptera)

According to the current classification there are 905 described species in 45 genera. The larvae of most are parasitoids, especially of beetle larvae, although they also attack other hosts, including spiders. Some species parasitize a wide variety of species. Their biology varies a lot. Some parasitize eggs, others larvae, and still others are hyperparasitic (use other parasites as hosts). They are found on all continents and in all types of habitats. Voice-Enabled Intelligent Virtual Agents for People With Amnesia: Systematic Review.

BackgroundOlder adults often have increasing memory problems (amnesia), and approximately 50 million people worldwide have dementia. This syndrome gradually affects a patient over a period of 10-20 years. Intelligent virtual agents may support people with amnesia.ObjectiveThis study aims to identify state-of-the-art experimental studies with virtual agents on a screen capable of verbal dialogues with a target group of older adults with amnesia.MethodsWe conducted a systematic search of PubMed, SCOPUS, Microsoft Academic, Google Scholar, Web of Science, and CrossRef on virtual agent and amnesia on papers that describe such experiments. Search criteria were (Virtual Agent OR Virtual Assistant OR Virtual Human OR Conversational Agent OR Virtual Coach OR Chatbot) AND (Amnesia OR Dementia OR Alzheimer OR Mild Cognitive Impairment). Risk of bias was evaluated using the QualSyst tool (University of Alberta), which scores 14 study quality items. Eligible studies are reported in a table including country, study design type, target sample size, controls, study aims, experiment population, intervention details, results, and an image of the agent.ResultsA total of 8 studies was included in this meta-analysis. The average number of participants in the studies was 20 (SD 12). The verbal interactions were generally short. The usability was generally reported to be positive. The human utterance was seen in 7 (88%) out of 8 studies based on short words or phrases that were predefined in the agent’s speech recognition algorithm. The average study quality score was 0.69 (SD 0.08) on a scale of 0 to 1.ConclusionsThe number of experimental studies on talking about virtual agents that support people with memory problems is still small. The details on the verbal interaction are limited, which makes it difficult to assess the quality of the interaction and the possible effects of confounding parameters. In addition, the derivation of the aggregated data was difficult. Further research with extended and prolonged dialogues is required.

Participatory Management and Its Role in Marketing: A Systematic Literature Review of Two Decades

This particular review paper focuses on two purposes: 1) To lay out a systematic overview of participatory management (PM) literature and 2) To analyze the methodology and significance of research in participatory management in marketing, paving the way for more research in the future. Design Methodology/Approach: This paper used the systematic literature review format. The various research articles were taken from Google Scholar (with citation index equal to or more than 30) and the Microsoft Academic database covering two decades, i.e. 2001 to 2020. Findings: Significant contributions of Participatory Management (PM) have been found in developing brands and place marketing. Some of the main themes studied clarify the components of PM, barriers, and limitations of PM. The findings reveal that very little research on PM has been done in the field of marketing, however, PM can be measured precisely.

Review of Climate Change and Agro-industrial Development in Cameroon

Climate change influences the performance of Cameroon's agribusinesses. Therefore, Cameroon was considered one of the countries most exposed to climate risks. The most vulnerable sector of its economy remains agriculture, which provides raw materials essential to the development of agribusinesses. This paper addressed the issue of climate change and its influences on the development of the country’s agribusiness. The methodological approach was based on bibliometric and bibliographic analyses, with a critical reading of articles published between 2005 and 2020 using search engines such as Microsoft Academic, Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, and ResearchGate. The results of the literature review showed that climate change is a serious threat to the development of Cameroon's agro-industries. Observations revealed variability in rainfall and temperature and an increase in extreme weather events. Climate variability would then lead to a 15% reduction in crop yields, on average, in sub-Saharan Africa in general by 2046 to 2055 compared to 1996 to 2005. From 2005 to 2020, the number of scientific publications in the field of climate change amounted to 215,470, including 127,379 on climate change and agribusiness. The yield reduction shows that climate change is a serious threat to agribusiness development, and the number of scientific publications shows a growing interest in this issue. Mitigation measures focused on the development of both climate monitoring tools and resilience strategies.

The prevalence and impact of university affiliation discrepancies between four bibliographic databases—Scopus, Web of Science, Dimensions, and Microsoft Academic

Abstract Research managers benchmarking universities against international peers face the problem of affiliation disambiguation. Different databases have taken separate approaches to this problem and discrepancies exist between them. Bibliometric data sources typically conduct a disambiguation process that unifies variant institutional names and those of its subunits so that researchers can then search all records from that institution using a single unified name. This study examined affiliation discrepancies between Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), Dimensions, and Microsoft Academic for 18 Arab universities over a 5-year period. We confirmed that digital object identifiers (DOIs) are suitable for extracting comparable scholarly material across databases and quantified the affiliation discrepancies between them. A substantial share of records assigned to the selected universities in any one database were not assigned to the same university in another. The share of discrepancy was higher in the larger databases (Dimensions and Microsoft Academic). The smaller, more selective databases (Scopus and especially WoS) tended to agree to a greater degree with affiliations in the other databases. Manual examination of affiliation discrepancies showed that they were caused by a mixture of missing affiliations, unification differences, and assignation of records to the wrong institution.

The Microsoft Academic Knowledge Graph enhanced: Author name disambiguation, publication classification, and embeddings

Abstract Although several large knowledge graphs have been proposed in the scholarly field, such graphs are limited with respect to several data quality dimensions such as accuracy and coverage. In this article, we present methods for enhancing the Microsoft Academic Knowledge Graph (MAKG), a recently published large-scale knowledge graph containing metadata about scientific publications and associated authors, venues, and affiliations. Based on a qualitative analysis of the MAKG, we address three aspects. First, we adopt and evaluate unsupervised approaches for large-scale author name disambiguation. Second, we develop and evaluate methods for tagging publications by their discipline and by keywords, facilitating enhanced search and recommendation of publications and associated entities. Third, we compute and evaluate embeddings for all 239 million publications, 243 million authors, 49,000 journals, and 16,000 conference entities in the MAKG based on several state-of-the-art embedding techniques. Finally, we provide statistics for the updated MAKG. Our final MAKG is publicly available at https://makg.org and can be used for the search or recommendation of scholarly entities, as well as enhanced scientific impact quantification.

Identifying scientific publications countrywide and measuring their open access: The case of the French Open Science Barometer (BSO)

Abstract We use several sources to collect and evaluate academic scientific publication on a country-wide scale, and we apply it to the case of France for the years 2015–2020, while presenting a more detailed analysis focused on the reference year 2019. These sources are diverse: databases available by subscription (Scopus, Web of Science) or open to the scientific community (Microsoft Academic Graph), the national open archive HAL, and databases serving thematic communities (ADS and PubMed). We show the contribution of the different sources to the final corpus. These results are then compared to those obtained with another approach, that of the French Open Science Barometer for monitoring open access at the national level. We show that both approaches provide a convergent estimate of the open access rate. We also present and discuss the definitions of the concepts used, and list the main difficulties encountered in processing the data. The results of this study contribute to a better understanding of the respective contributions of the main databases and their complementarity in the broad framework of a countrywide corpus. They also shed light on the calculation of open access rates and thus contribute to a better understanding of current developments in the field of open science.
