STUDENTS’ PRONUNCIATION ANALYSIS OF ENGLISH INFLECTIONAL –S ENDING AT SMA PANGUDI LUHUR

This study focused on the most dominant way of Students' Pronunciation of the English Inflectional “-S” Ending at the Tenth Grade of SMA Pangudi Luhur. The writer used the quantitative content analysis method to know the dominant way students pronounce the Inflectional “-S” Ending that was produced by 43 respondents. The technique of collecting the data was an instrument test consisting of 30 words of inflectional “-S” endings of two paragraphs and observation. Techniques for analyzing the data are coding category, coding material, data display, and analyzing and interpreting the result. Moreover, from the Pronunciation of inflectional “-S” endings, there were three possible inflectional “-S” endings such as /s/, /z/, and/iz/. Based on the findings, the dominant error in students' Pronunciation of inflectional test was uninflected with /iz/ endings 1.131 (37%) words, /z/ endings 1.129 (33%) words, and /s/ 1.057 (30%) words. The most uninflected words made by the students were/iz/ and the “-S” in the third person singular present tense.

Performance prediction method based on Liang-Kleeman information flow and wood tracheid morphology

In order to improve the production efficiency of the wood industry and achieve intelligent feedback control in production processes, non-destructive online prediction of performance is crucial. With the increasing maturity of nanotechnology, the use of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is becoming increasingly frequent. The Liang Kleeman (L-K) information flow theory is a quantitative causal analysis method based on time series data, which has the advantage of fast calculation. In order to predict the mechanical properties of wood in real-time, fast, and non-destructive manner, this article obtains feature data from SEM photos of wood tracheids, A performance prediction method based on L-K information flow and wood tracheid morphology was proposed. This method first extracts the aspect ratio, wall cavity ratio, double thick wall, and cavity diameter ratio characteristics of wood tracheids from SEM photos, and then calculates the L-K information flow of the tracheid characteristics on mechanical properties (compressive strength, flexural strength, flexural modulus of elasticity, tensile strength). The causal influence strength between them is quantitatively characterized by the coefficient of variation of the L-K information flow, Then, a linear function is constructed with tracheid characteristics as the independent variable, mechanical properties as the dependent variable, and causal influence strength as a coefficient to achieve non-destructive prediction of wood properties. The experimental results show that the highest prediction accuracy of this method reaches 92%, effectively achieving online performance prediction based on causal relationships and image data, providing data reference for screening high-quality performance wood.

The Effect of Wushu on Balance, Anthropometric Properties and Some Performance Parameters

Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of Wushu on balance, anthropometric characteristics and some performance parameters.
 
 Methods: An experimental model, which is one of the quantitative research types, was chosen for the research model. The study group of the research consisted of 20 athletes between the ages of 14-17 who practice Wushu in the Bidam Fight Club Sports Club in Düzce. Before starting the 8-week training program and at the end of the 8-week training, balance measurements, anthropometric measurements and performance measurements were taken from the athletes. A newly developed UPLC-MS/MS method for simultaneous quantitative analysis of ajuforrestin A, ajuforrestin B, ajugamacrin and 8-O-acetylharpagide derived from Ajuga plants in mice blood and the in vivo pharmacokinetics

Objective To develop a sensitive and fast detection method via ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) to assess the concentration of ajuforrestin A, ajuforrestin B, ajugamacrin and 8-O-Acetylharpagide primarily derived from Ajuga plants in mice blood and their pharmacokinetics. Methods Single protein precipitation with high-proportioned acetonitrile is chosen for sample clean-up. The UPLC HSS T3 (2.1 mm × 100 mm, 1.8 µm) column with a mobile phase in gradient elution mode at the flow rate of 0.4 mL/min was used for sample separation. Acetonitrile was selected as the organic phase solution and water containing 0.1% formic acid was chosen as the aqueous solution. A tandem mass spectrometer containing an electrospray ionization (ESI) source in the positive ionization mode was used to detect four compounds via multiple reaction monitoring (MRM). Results The calibration curves (5–1000 ng/mL) of four compounds were linear with correlation coefficients > 0.997. The matrix effects, accuracy, precision, and recovery were all within permissible scope. Conclusions In this approach, the corresponding pharmacokinetic parameters were successfully clarified in mouse for the first time, which provided a theoretical basis for the improvement of the standard of Ajuga plants and the safety of clinical medication. Furthermore, this method may provide the UPLC-MS/MS evidence for the differentiation of the main close relative varieties of genus Ajuga according to these plants contain different mixtures of the four marker compounds.

A new approach for configuring modular floating cities: assessing modular floating platforms by means of analytic hierarchy process

Floating cities have emerged as an efficient long-term solution over unsustainable practiced solutions to combat the rising seas problem; nevertheless, the world lacks an international, official, and comprehensive framework regarding floating cities. Although previous research approached modular floating city design; however, resulted in configurations with various critical design restrictions mainly regarding interlocking capabilities and space utilization. The purpose of this paper is to offer a new systematic strategy for configuring modular and expandable floating cities without such restrictions. This paper explores Euclidean tilings as a strategy to offer numerous configurations based on regular, semi-regular, and demi-regular tilings. Selecting the ideal configuration is complicated; therefore, both quantitative and qualitative data methods were implemented to attain the objectives. Via an extensive literature review, this research derives key factors for configuring floating cities, then sets a brainstorming session with experts for group decision making before providing findings upon calculations via analytic hierarchy process, one of the most used quantitative data methods of multiple-criteria decision analysis. Through comprehensive literature review: seakeeping, modularity, zoning and circulation, and feasibility have been identified as the most significant criteria in floating city research. It explores the qualities and limitations of triangular, squared, hexagonal, octagonal, and dodecagonal platforms. Regarding criteria, seakeeping was the most significant criterion for platform selection by 53.6%. Regarding platforms, the hexagonal platform scored the highest with 25.31%. Relying on this method and the design considerations presented, numerous dynamic configurations can be offered and assessed through specific contexts without any of the past restrictions.

The Effect of Musyarakah Financing on Economic Development in Indonesia (Case Study on Islamic Commercial Banks for the 2018-2022 Period)

This research is motivated by the inequality of economic development in Indonesia through the achievement of the Human Development Index in each province in Indonesia. Then, Islamic Commercial Banks carry out the technical sharing of the results of the musyarakah financing business with net revenue sharing, so that Islamic Commercial Banks tend not to know the working capital rotated by customers experiencing losses or profits. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of musyarakah financing on economic development. This study uses an empirical juridical approach with quantitative research types and analytical descriptive research methods. The data used is panel data from Islamic Commercial Banks registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) for the 2018-2022 period. The sampling method used in this research is a non-probability sampling technique, while the data processing method is regression analysis using EViews 12. The results of this study indicate that musyarakah financing has an insignificant positive effect on economic development with the Human Development Index as an indicator with a significance level of 0.2113 greater than 0.05. The coefficient of determination with an adjusted R square value of 0.017605 indicates that the influence of musyarakah on economic development is 1.7605%, while the remaining 98.2395% is influenced by other variables outside the study.

MIVES MULTI-CRITERIA FRAMEWORK TO SUSTAINABILITY INDEX OF DESIGN FOR MANUFACTURE AND ASSEMBLY

Embracing sustainable strategies that consider Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) has become a rapidly growing trend in urban development. Continued uncertainty on the sustainability assessment of design could drive a series of indecisive decision-making among design alternatives, further disrupting the potential opportunities toward sustainable DfMA. However, there is a lack of research on sustainable design assessments for DfMA and establishing a sustainable index. This research establishes an integrated value model for the sustainability assessment framework and DfMA sustainability index to address this challenge. This model integrates Building Information Modelling (BIM) with MIVES, a customisable Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) tool. The pilot case of this framework is the retrofit of a commercial building’s façade system, which demonstrated the capability of the proposed framework. Data collection and analysis include the comparisons between five design alternatives. This research furthers previous studies and has three-fold significance: 1) Establishing reasonable multi-criteria for the sustainable DfMA indices; 2) Adapting the MIVES approach for comparative analysis across three building phases to make it compatible with DfMA; 3) developing a quantitative analysis method for sustainable design assessment of DfMA in the construction industry.

Improving Analytic Hierarchy Process inside the Analytic Group Decision-Making Approach Method with Two-Dimensional Cloud Model for Water Resource Pollution Risk Warning Evaluation: A Case Study in Shandong Province, China

This study proposes a water resource pollution risk warning evaluation method. Firstly, an evaluation system is constructed, consisting of 15 secondary indicators in four aspects: water quality, ecology, utilization protection, and water disasters. Then, an improved AGA-AHP method and coefficient of variation method are used to determine the weights of each indicator. Cloud models are employed to describe the characteristics of standard clouds and evaluation clouds, establishing a two-dimensional cloud model with risk probability and hazard level as variables. Taking a certain region in Shandong Province, China, as an example, the quantitative analysis results indicate that the water pollution risk level in the area is classified as Level IV, with particular attention needed for water quality and management indicators. Simultaneously, a series of measures such as source control, monitoring and early warning, emergency response, and public participation are proposed to further reduce the risk. The research findings demonstrate the following: (1) The establishment of a comprehensive indicator system for multidimensional assessment; (2) The combination of the AGA-AHP method and cloud model for quantitative analysis; (3) The practicality of the method validated through the case study; (4) Providing a basis for subsequent decision-making. This study provides new insights for water environmental risk management, but a further optimization of the model to enhance predictive capability is required when applied in practical scenarios. Nevertheless, the preliminary validation of this method’s application prospects in water resource risk monitoring has been achieved.

Influence of Credit Risk Management and Specific Bank Factors on Financial Performance in Publicly Listed Banks

This research is motivated by financial problems which are a period of conflict in the banking or financial sector. Among all the world's continents, Asia is the most crucial continent and contributes 60% of world growth but faces the problem of high non-performing loans (NPL). As is known, a high NPL ratio will weaken the country's economy or financial position. Therefore, the research was conducted in Indonesia. Two credit risk systems are used in this research: NPL and capital adequacy ratio (CAR). Apart from that, this research also includes bank-specific factors to improve financial performance. This research analyzes the relationship between credit risk, bank-specific factors, and FP. The data analysis method used in this research is a quantitative data analysis method, this research is panel data regression using Eviews software. Research results related to NPL (Non-Performing Loans) have no effect on financial performance, Research related to the capital adequacy ratio (CAR) which has no effect on financial performance, Research shows that the cost efficiency ratio (CER) has no effect on financial performance, Research shows that interest rates average loan interest (ALR) has an effect on financial performance, and research shows that the liquidity ratio (LR) has a significant effect on financial performance. The results of this research can help to improve financial performance by paying attention to credit risk management, taking appropriate techniques efficiently in providing loans and looking at liquidity position as a factor.

A Comparison of Explicit and Implicit Approaches to EAP Teaching to Postgraduate Students

The present study aims to explore the role of explicit and implicit approaches in developing pragmatic competence in postgraduate students as part of the Foreign Language course. 32 students were divided into two groups depending on the type of teaching approach for six weeks of instruction. Research proposals written by each group after the interventions were examined with the aim of comparing the employment of pragmatic features such as stance-taking resources and their frequencies. In order to investigate the effects of stance-taking instruction, this study adopted a combination of quantitative and interpretative analysis methods. The results revealed significant differences in the use of stance resources by the postgraduate students exposed to explicit vs implicit instruction. In terms of compliance with the academic writing norms, the explicit instruction was found to be more effective than the implicit one. The analysis found that while the explicit group tended to mitigate their claims and hide authorial presence, the students exposed to the implicit instruction expressed stronger commitments to propositional content and showed writer visibility in the text, which considers to be inappropriate in English-language academic writing. The findings point to important considerations for EAP teaching and future research into academic discourse and contribute to previous studies of the benefits of instruction in the development of pragmatic competence. The results may be employed by curriculum designers to create materials for L2 writers and EAP instructors in their teaching practice.

 Purpose: The research objective is 1). To analyze the relationship of the hospital quality with Key Performance Indicators (KPI), 2) to analyze the relationship of the Hospital Quality with BOR and 3). To analyze the relationship of the hospital quality with ALOS.
 Methods: Types of research taking secondary data in 2009 with the design of the quantitative analysis method of retrospective study. Location of the study in 40 hospitals under the auspices of Aumakes. Analyzed using quantitative with correlation statistical program.
 Result:. Correlation statistical data shows significant relationship exists between the quality and KPI with significance values is 0.00 and with strong correlation is 0.719. There is a significant relationship between hospital quality and BOR with significant value is 0.016 by weak correlation 0.394. There was no significant relationship between the quality and ALOS which is significance values 0.831.

An Empirical Analysis of The Factors Influencing China's Personal Insurance Premium Income

This paper presents an in-depth empirical investigation into the determinants of personal insurance premium income in China, scrutinizing the period from 2016 to 2021. Through the application of quantitative analysis methods, the study explores the influence of socio-economic factors such as GDP growth, urbanization rate, social welfare expenditure, per capita disposable income, the aging population, and education levels on the propensity of individuals to purchase personal insurance. Key findings reveal that while economic prosperity and increased social welfare expenditures positively influence personal insurance uptake, demographic shifts towards an aging population and higher educational attainment among the populace exhibit a deterrent effect on insurance consumption. The research contributes to the insurance literature by highlighting the nuanced interplay between economic development, demographic trends, and insurance market dynamics in China. It suggests policy implications for insurance companies and regulators to foster market growth, including the development of innovative insurance products that cater to the evolving needs of a diverse population and the implementation of educational initiatives to raise insurance awareness.

Ultracompact wavefront characterization of femtosecond 3D printed microlenses using double-frequency Ronchi interferometry.

3D printed microoptics have become important tools for miniature endoscopy, novel CMOS-based on-chip sensors, OCT-fibers, among others. Until now, only image quality and spot diagrams were available for optical characterization. Here, we introduce Ronchi interferometry as ultracompact and quick quantitative analysis method for measuring the wavefront aberrations after propagating coherent light through the 3D printed miniature optics. We compare surface shapes by 3D confocal microscopy with optical characterizations by Ronchi interferograms. Phase retrieval gives us the transversal wave front aberration map, which indicates that the aberrations of our microlenses that have been printed with a Nanoscribe GT or Quantum X printer exhibit RMS wavefront aberrations as small as λ/20, Strehl ratios larger than 0.91, and near-diffraction limited modulation transfer functions. Our method will be crucial for future developments of 3D printed microoptics, as the method is ultracompact, ultra-stable, and very fast regarding measurement and evaluation. It could fit directly into a 3D printer and allows for in-situ measurements right after printing as well as fast iterations for improving the shape of the optical surface.

Quantitative lipid composition characterization of intact liposomes via 31P nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy.

Drug delivery systems (DDS) are important methods to maximize drug efficacy by enabling in vivo accumulation at the target site. Liposomes, which are nanoscale vesicles consisting of lipid bilayers, are widely used for clinical DDS. The lipid composition of an intact liposome is a significant factor that directly affects its characteristics and functions. Thus, it is important to develop quantitative or qualitative analytical methods to characterize the lipid composition. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) of phosphorus (31P) is a particularly sensitive and non-destructive approach because phospholipid components have one 31P nucleus per molecule. Here, we demonstrate quantitative observations of individual phospholipids in intact liposomes via solution 31P-NMR. In addition, the 31P linewidths became narrower if the liposomes contained > 10mol% of polyethylene glycol-(PEGylated) phospholipids, which also contributed to liposome down-sizing. Down-sizing and PEGylation are important strategies for efficient drug delivery. Hence, 31P-NMR can be used to analyze phospholipids in liposomes and related pharmaceutical preparations for quality control.

LC-MS/MS determination of N-acetyl-l-cysteine in chicken plasma.

N-acetyl-l-cysteine (NAC) shows beneficial effects in cases of aflatoxicosis and heat stress in poultry but little is known about its pharmacokinetics in chickens. Therefore, the study aimed to develop and validate a sensitive LC-MS/MS analytical method for quantitative analysis of NAC in chicken plasma. A split calibration curve approach was used for determination of NAC in chicken plasma. Standard curves for low (0.05-2.5μg/ml) and high (2.5-100 μg/ml) ranges of concentrations were prepared. The standard curves for low (r2 = 0.9987) and high (r2 = 0.9899) concentrations were linear within the tested range. The limits of detection (LOD) and of quantification (LOQ) for the standard at low concentrations were 0.093 and 0.28 μg/ml, respectively. The accuracy was from 97.35 to 101.33%. The values of LOD and LOQ for the standard at high concentrations were 0.76 and 2.30 μg/ml, respectively. The accuracy was between 99.77 and 112.14%. The intra- and inter-day precisions for all concentrations from both standards did not exceed 8.57% and 10.69%, respectively. The recovery for all concentrations was between 92.45 and 105.52%. The validated method for determination of NAC in chicken plasma can be applied in future pharmacokinetic studies in chickens without dilution of samples and their repeated analysis.

Impact Of Preschool Education Financial Expenditures on The Number of Full-Time Preprimary Teachers in Rural Regions--An Analysis Based on Chinese Provincial Panel Data, 2012-2021

Education is an essential problem concerning the whole society, creating citizens with well-educated is the foundation of a good country. Financial expenditure on education is the basic supplement and support of advanced education. However, preschool education has lower attention compared to other seminars. There is a certain gap in allocation. Therefore, the focus of this study is on how education spending affects the number of rural kindergarten teachers, using the quantitative analysis method, from the Economy Prediction System (EPS) database to collect the corresponding panel data of China's provinces during the decade 2012-2021 to analyze and hypothesize, and finally concludes as follows. The amount of kindergarten full-time teachers in rural areas is obviously and positively related to the total investment in preprimary education, and this relationship is more significant in the western region. The study also found that among the items of financial expenditures on preschool education. Spending on products and services, as opposed to pay, benefits, and assistance for individuals and families, had a greater impact on the amount of kindergartens full-time teachers in rural areas. Through the path analysis in the study, we can know that the educational financial expenditure can increase the number of full-time kindergarten teachers in rural areas by increasing the number of kindergartens and students.

Politicians, Newspapers, and Immigration Referendums: Exploring the Boundaries of Media Effects

ABSTRACT Does acquiring a media company pay off politically? A growing body of literature suggests that politically motivated media owners shape media coverage and that media coverage affects political behavior; however, we know little about the conditionality of such effects. To shed light on this question, I draw on a theory of media power to argue that there are conditions under which we should not expect slanted media to affect political outcomes: if media plurality and voters’ understanding of media owners’ political motives are sufficiently high. I illustrate empirically that such conditions exist by exploiting the sudden takeover of the Swiss regional daily Basler Zeitung by a leading right-wing, anti-immigrant politician. Drawing on quantitative text analysis methods and panel data analyses, I find that the takeover led to a right-wing turn in the newspaper’s immigration coverage and a reduced circulation rate. However, there is no evidence that it meaningfully affected local immigration vote outcomes. These findings highlight that while rich politicians might be able to shape media coverage, there are conditions under which slanted media coverage does not significantly move vote outcomes in the preferred direction.

Application of polyphenolic compound-based HPLC fingerprint in Chinese golden camellias (Camellia sect. Chrysantha)

Chinese golden camellias (Camellia sect. Chrysantha) are traditional substitute tea with medicinal and food properties. The development of fingerprinting techniques specific to Chinese golden camellias may provide a new means of reliably assessing the quality of tea and traditional medicine. Herein, 32 total specimens were collected in Southern China and used to establish a polyphenolic compound-based high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) signature profile. The established chromatographic fingerprints were subjected to similarity, hierarchical clustering analysis (HCA), together with principal component analysis (PCA) evaluations, and the uncertainty and reliability for such HPLC fingerprints were also evaluated. Similarity values for C. sect. Chrysantha samples ranged from 0.721 to 0.969 relative to the reference chromatographic fingerprint (RFP). HCA and PCA approaches were performed to classify 13 specimens of C. sect. Chrysantha from different species and regions into four categories that respectively contained 7, 1, 2, and 3 specimens. In this HPLC fingerprint, peak 11 was authenticated as rutin, while peaks 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 12 and 13 were tentatively characterized via liquid chromatography-high-resolution mass spectrometry (LC-HRMS) as corresponding with other polyphenolic agents. Credibility analyses indicated that the macroscopic qualitative and quantitative reliability values for C. fascicularis RFP were greater than 0.9500. Taken together, statistical analyses thus confirmed that this HPLC fingerprinting strategy can be reliably used to classify and assess the quality of C. sect. Chrysantha specimens. And the qualitative and quantitative reliability analysis and systematic quantitative fingerprint methods are promising tools for future efforts to ensure the quality of C. fascicularis.

The impact of environmental, social and governance policies on companies’ financial and economic performance: A comprehensive approach and new empirical evidence

In the last decade, the use of integrated reports (IR) comprising information on non-financial indicators from the environment, social, and governance (ESG) category has increased in time. Companies are now focusing not only on financial reporting but are notably including non-financial issues in their public reports. In doing so, they seek to align activities with the expectations of their stakeholders and the society in which they operate, as well as with various regulations, which are increasingly relevant worldwide. This study examines the impact of ESG reporting on company performance. Our research involved analyzing financial and non-financial data from 2,400 companies extracted from the Refinitiv Eikon database. Two methods of quantitative analysis were applied, namely multiple linear regression models processed by the robust regression method and structural equation modelling. Main findings entail that ESG indicators had strong and medium effects on company performance, but these effects varied across different dimensions, requiring a tailored approach to embed ESG factors in corporate strategy to enhance overall performance. Our paper provides a new perspective on the current and the potential impact of ESG reporting, based on systematic theoretical and empirical analyse , with multiple implications for business administration and management.

Thermal Runaway Characteristics and Gas Analysis of LiNi0.9Co0.05Mn0.05O2 Batteries

Layered ternary materials with high nickel content are regarded as the most promising cathode materials for high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries, owing to their advantages of high capacity, low cost, and relatively good safety. However, as the nickel content increases in ternary layered materials, their thermal stability noticeably decreases. It is of paramount importance to explore the characteristics of thermal runaway for lithium-ion batteries. In this study, two high-nickel LiNi0.9Co0.05Mn0.05O2 batteries were laterally heated to thermal runaway in a sealed chamber filled with nitrogen to investigate the thermal characteristics and gas compositions. The temperature of the battery tabs was measured, revealing that both batteries were in a critical state of thermal runaway near 120 degrees Celsius. A quantitative analysis method was employed during the eruption process, dividing it into three stages: ultra-fast, fast, and slow; the corresponding durations for the two batteries were 3, 2, 27 s and 3, 3, 26 s. By comparing the changes in chamber pressure, it was observed that both batteries exhibited a similar continuous venting duration of 32 s. However, the pressure fluctuation ranges of the two samples were 99.5 and 68.2 kPa·m·s−1. Compared to the other sample, the 211 Ah sample exhibited larger chamber pressure fluctuations and reached higher peak pressures, indicating a higher risk of explosion. In the experimental phenomenon captured by a high-speed camera, it took only 1 s for the sample to transition from the opening of the safety valve to filling the experimental chamber with smoke. The battery with higher energy density exhibited more intense eruption during thermal runaway, resulting in more severe mass loss. The mass loss of the two samples is 73% and 64.87%. The electrolyte also reacted more completely, resulting in a reduced number of measured exhaust components. The main components of gaseous ejections are CO, CO2, H2, C2H4, and CH4. For the 211 Ah battery, the vented gases were mainly composed of CO (41.3%), CO2 (24.8%), H2 (21%), C2H4 (7.4%) and CH4 (3.9%), while those for the other 256 Ah battery were mainly CO (30.6%), CO2 (28.5%), H2 (21.7%), C2H4 (12.4%) and CH4 (5.8%). Comparatively, the higher-capacity battery produced more gases. The gas volumes, converted to standard conditions (0 °C, 101 kPa) and normalized, resulted in 1.985 L/Ah and 2.182 L/Ah, respectively. The results provide valuable guidance for the protection of large-capacity, high-energy-density battery systems. The quantitative analysis of the eruption process has provided assistance to fire alarm systems and firefighting strategies.
