The production of new steel grades in the oxygen-converter shop by means of the ladle-treatment system introduced at OAO Magnitogorskii Metallurgicheskii Kombinat in 2010 is considered. That system includes two-position ladle-furnace unit 2; a two-position vacuum-treatment unit; and a two-position low-intensity injection unit. This system is used to produce high-strength pipe steel with specified hydrogen content; and low-alloy steel with guaranteed nitrogen content (no more than 0.006%) and sulfur content (≤0.002%), for the production of large-diameter pipe.
