Development of E-module Space Geometry Based on Vee's Heuristic Strategy to Train Students' Mathematical Representation Skills

The research aims to produce e-modules based on vee heuristic strategies that are valid, practical, and effective to train the mathematical representation skills of high school students, with the material used is the geometry of space. This research is development research with 4-D design (Define, Design, Development, and Dissemination). The subjects of this study were students of class XII MIPA and IPS Of Al-Qudwah Integrated High School, which amounted to 30 students. The data in this study was collected using questionnaires and tests. From the analysis results obtained, the average total validation score (RTV) from media experts is 4,062 with an excellent category, material experts with 4,625 with unique varieties, and the average e-module user response score of 89.00. The indicates that the student's response to Learning using e-modules based on heuristic vee strategies is positive so that e-modules can be declared practical. The mathematical representation of students after using this vee heuristic strategy-based e-module earns a total average of 3.32 with excellent category. Based on the results of such data analysis, the e-module based on vee heuristic strategies developed is worth using as a practical learning resource to train students' mathematical representation skills on space geometry. The app makes it easy for students to access flexible learning resources anywhere and anytime.

Analysis of David Kolb's Learning Style According to Mathematical Representation Ability

The purpose of this study was to describe David Kolb's learning style according to the mathematical representation of students. This research is qualitative. The subjects of this study were students of class VIII SMP Agus Salim Semarang. The data were obtained by using the test method of the mathematical representation ability instrument, questionnaire of KLSI (Kolb Learning Style Inventory), interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are: (1). Students with High Mathematical Representation Ability tend to have an assimilator type of learning style, (2). Students with Medium Mathematical Representation Ability tend to have a converger learning style type, and (3). Students with Low Mathematical Representation Ability tend to have a divergent learning style. Teachers are suggested to identify students’ learning styles to be the best teachers for students. It is also recommended to collect mathematical representation-based problems to improve students' mathematical representation skills.

Representasi Matematis Siswa Bina Prestasi MTsN 1 Jember dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Segiempat Ditinjau dari Level van Hiele

This study aims to determine mathematical representation of Students’ Ability in Solving Quadrilateral Problems Based on Van Hiele’s Levels at an Enrichment Program in MTsN 1 Jember.. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were 17 students of class IXA at ​​MTsN 1 Jember. The data collection method on this research are using test and interview methods. The test instrument on this research were a test of ability to think geometry and a test of mathematical representation on rectangular material. The results of data analysis were carried out by comparing the results of the mathematical representation test with interviews, then categorized based on Van Hiele's level of thinking from the results of the geometric thinking ability test. The results showed that students with a visual thinking level had a tendency to use symbolic and verbal representations in solving problems. Students with the analytical thinking level tend to use verbal, visual, and symbolic representations in solving problems.

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STATISTICAL LITERACY AND MATHEMATICAL REPRESENTATION OF STUDENTS THROUGH COLLABORATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING MODEL

The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between statistical literacy and mathematical representation of students as pre-service elementary school teachers through the Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) model. The relationship between statistical literacy and mathematical representation was analyzed by using a product-moment correlation with a sample of 35 students of Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program at one of the state universities in Ambon City. The results showed that there was a positive and strong relationship between statistical literacy and mathematical representation with a correlation value of 0.66. This relationship means that if students have good mathematical representation abilities, statistical literacy abilities are also getting better. Exploration of statistical literacy and mathematical representation abilities can be facilitated by using The CPS learning model. The CPS learning model can facilitate student learning as a structure in mathematical thinking so that statistical literacy and mathematical representation abilities of students can be explored through the transformation of ideas among students. The CPS learning model aspects were implemented in high and very high categories while the indicators were at rating-2 and rating-3.

Model Problem Based Learning Berbantuan GeoGebra dan Model Realistic Mathematics Education terhadap Representasi Matematis Siswa ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif

This study aims to determine the differences in students' mathematical representations through the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by GeoGebra and Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) models, differences in the mathematical representation of students through GeoGebra-assisted PBL models with the RME model in terms of learning styles Field Independent (FI) and Field Field (FI) Dependent (FD). The research used was Quasi-experimental research. The population is grade XII students, and the sample used is the science class 1, and science 2. The data were collected by tests. Data analyzed using variance and independent t-test. This research results in a difference between students' mathematical representation through the GeoGebra-assisted PBL model and the RME model. The difference in students' mathematical representation through the GeoGebra-assisted PBL model and the model of the RME in terms of the FI learning style. At the same time, for FD, there is no significant difference.

PENGARUH BLENDED LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS dan SELF EFFICACY SISWA

The purpose of this study was to know the effect of Blended Learning on the ability of Mathematical Representattion and Self efficacy. Populations of this study were all students of class VIII in one of SMP in Purwokerto at 2018. It was experimental study post test only disgn. The sampel were students of class VIII G as the experimental class and class VIII D as the control class. The average of post test result of the students’ mathematical representation ability reach 70,30 for the experimental class and 62,08 for the control class. After a hypothesis testing by using Man Whitney test was obtained significance value of 0,036. Due to the significance value was smaller, so H0 was rejected. It can be concluded that the mathematical representation of students using blended learning was higher than students using direct learning or the blended learning has an effect on mathematical representation.The average of questionnaireof result of the students’ efficacy ability reach 77,05 for the experimental class and 74,91 for the control class. After a hypothesis testing by using Man Whitney test was obtained significance value of 0,254. Due to the significance value was bigger, so H0 was accepted. It can be concluded that there was no difference between the students’ self efficacy by blended learning and direct learning or the blended learning has no effect on student’ efficacy.

KEMAMPUAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS MAHASISWA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN MASALAH STATISTIKA BERDASARKAN LANGKAH KRULIK DAN RUDNICK

This research intended to describe the mathematical representation of students in solving statistical problems based on the Krulik anf Rdunick steps. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were students of the second semester mathematic education study program. The procedure of subjects using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. Data validity used triangulation. Data analysis techniques using the Mile and Huberman step, namely data reduction, data presentations, drawing conclusions and verifyingconclusions. The results The results of this study are as follows: (1) subjects with high ability in the read and think and exploration and plan stages, using verbal and symbolic representations. The stage of select a strategy, using symbolic representation. The find and answer stage, uses symbolic and visual representations. In the reflect and extend step, the subject uses verbal representations. For students with moderate ability in the stage of read and think and explore and plan using verbal representation. The stage of finding an answer and select a strategy using verbal and symbolic representation. The reflect and extend stage of the subject uses symbolic representations. In students with low ability to read and think and explore and plan using verbal representation. Stage select a strategy subject using symbolic representation.

EFEKTIVITAS PROBLEM BASED LEARNING DITINJAU DARI KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR KRITIS DAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of problem-based learning model in terms of the ability to think critically and mathematical representation of grade VIII students at a State Junior High School in Bandarlampung City. The population in this study are all students of class VIII distributed in eleven classes. The samples of this study are the students of two classes VIII whose class is selected by purposive random sampling technique. The research design is Pre-test Post-test Control Group Design. Mann-Whitney U non parametric test results on critical thinking and mathematical representation, indicating that H 0 is rejected, thus drawn the conclusion that mathematical critical thinking and mathematical representation of students who follow PBL is higher than mathematical critical thinking and mathematical representation of students following learning conventional. The proportion test shows that the percentage of students who have critical thinking skills and mathematical representations are categorized well in the class using the PBL more than 60% of the number of students. Representasi Matematis pada Pemecahan Word Problem Perbandingan Inkonsisten

Word problems solving involves the ability of translating and integrating word problem text. Many students get the difficulty in solving word problem due to their inability to translate and integrate word problem text into an exact representation. Representation is divided into two types namely, pictorial representation and schematic representation. This study aims at describing representation process employed by the 10th grade of High School students on word problem solving of inconsistent comparison. This research was done to 5 students and in this article have 3 subjects. The results of this study infine other representation. There are three mathematical representation of students in solving word problems comparison inconsistent: (1) pictorial representations, (2) schematic representation, and (3) pictorial-schematic representation.

PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN KONTEKSTUAL TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN DAN REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS SISWA SEKOLAH DASAR

This study aims to determine whether the ability of understanding and reoresentasi mathematical students who get contextual learning is higher than the capability of understanding and the mathematical representation of students who learn by direct instruction, as well as to determine whether the increased ability of comprehension and mathematical representation of students who get contextual learning is higher than increase in students who received direct instruction teaching. This study is a quasi-experimental study design with pretest posttest control group research desaign. Based on data analysis and data posttest scores normalized gain, it can be concluded that 1) the ability of understanding and abilities of students who obtain a mathematical representation of contextual learning is higher than the capability of mathematical understanding of students who received direct instruction; 2) to improve the understanding and ability of students who obtain a mathematical representation of contextual learning is higher than the increase in understanding of mathematical ability of students who received direct instruction

Pengaruh Pembelajaran Inquiry Training Terhadap Kemampuan Komunikasi Matematis Dan Representasi Matematis Siswa

This studyaims to: 1) assess whether there is an increase in communication skills and mathematical representation of students through learning by using Inquiry Training strategy, 2)examine whether students using Inquiry Traininglearning strategy has better mathematical communication skills than those using conventional learning, 3) examine whether students using Inquiry Traininglearning strategy have better mathematical representation than those using conventional learning strategy, and 4) know students ’attitudes towards learning mathematics using Inquiry Trainingstrategy. Two classes are randomly selected by way of raffle for the research sample. Quantitative analysis is performed on the average normalized gain and on attitudes of students between the two sample groups using Two-Line ANOVA TEST.After data analysis, the results obtained are: 1) The ability of mathematical representation at student who learn using Training Inquirylearning is better than at students who receive conventional learning, 2) communication skills at students who learn mathematics using Training Inquirylearning is better than at students who obtain conventional learning, 3) There are significant differences in improvement of students ’mathematical representation ability among students with high, medium, and low ability.
