Along with the development of the times of Indonesian society, especially people who are interested in television and radio, it is getting easier to receive information because of the development of programs on television and radio which are increasingly widespread and sophisticated. Television is the most widely used tool in accessing information and seeing various things that happen on radio. Therefore, many programs are produced, so methods and steps are needed so that the production of programs on television, both directly and indirectly, goes according to what is desired. Well, while radio is radio is electronic mass media that is the cheapest, easy to use, can be enjoyed anywhere and anytime. Radio has undergone a long process of development before becoming the mass communication medium it is today. The world of broadcasting continues to develop very rapidly without knowing boundaries and regions. Thanks to the development of communication / information technology, the flow of information can run very quickly, so as to be able to eliminate the distance in space and time between two places on earth and even between earth and outer space. This type of research is a qualitative research (qualitative research). This research method is documentation, namely data sources obtained from agencies or books (documents) related to this research problem. Radio is a form of mass media whose strength is as a disseminator of information that is very fast and able to reach. wide community. To achieve its target, namely listeners, something or program that will be displayed does not experience complex things. Compared to television, the difference is more complicated because radio media presents message content in audio form, while television presents message content in audiovisual form, motion and sync.

How do social media influencers inspire consumers' purchase decisions? The mediating role of parasocial relationships

AbstractIn recent years, social media influencers (SMIs) have become part of the strategic communication of firms because the traditional form of mass media communication is losing its effectiveness. Thus, it is imperative to study the effects of communication through SMIs on marketing outcomes, such as purchase intentions. Based on the fairness dimensions, that is, information, distributive, interpersonal, and procedural, and dimensions of source credibility, that is, attractiveness, expertise, trustworthiness, and similarity, this research investigated how technology‐oriented SMIs (T‐SMIs) foster parasocial relationships (PSRs) with followers. Purposive sampling was employed to collect data from 506 active social media users. Data were analysed through IBM AMOS and SPSS 26. The results of the study suggested that attractiveness, expertise, trustworthiness, similarity, interpersonal, procedural, and information fairness are positively related to fostering PSR with followers. In contrast, distributive fairness does not strengthen PSR with followers; furthermore, the study findings suggested an indirect positive influence of attractiveness, expertise, trustworthiness, similarity, interpersonal, procedural, and information fairness on the purchase intentions of consumers via PSR. This study is useful for academia and industry since it fills important gaps in the literature and provides recommendations to brand managers of technology companies about selecting appropriate SMIs for the endorsement of their brands.

Monitoring Effectiveness of an Operational Project on Two Threatened Landbirds: Applying a Before–After Threat Analysis and Threat Reduction Assessment

Human activities are at the origin of anthropogenic threats altering ecosystems at any hierarchical level. To mitigate them, environmental managers develop projects to obtain effective outcomes on biological targets of conservation concern. Here, we carried out two new approaches (TAN = Threat Analysis and TRA = Threat Reduction Assessment) aimed at assessing the effectiveness of conservation actions on two threatened beach-nesting landbird species, the Kentish Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus) and the Little Ringed Plover (C. dubius), breeding along a coastal beach of central Italy. Using a score-based evaluation (TAN approach), a panel of experts assessed the extent, intensity, and magnitude of a set of species-specific threats, ranking them from more to less impacting. Domestic dogs, dune trampling, and synanthropic predators appeared as the threats with the most significant magnitudes. Using the TRA approach, experts obtained a rank of threats that were more urgent to solve: i.e., domestic dogs and dune trampling. To contrast with these threats, in 2021, we carried out a conservation project with specific measures that were aimed at reducing the threat magnitude on birds. They included: dune borders demarcation, anti-predatory cages on plover nests, the removal of beach-stranded fishing lines and hooks, field surveillance by volunteers, dog control, social- and mass-media communication, and alliances with stakeholders and institutions. After the project, mechanical beach grooming (>80%), dune trampling, and synanthropic predators (both >60%) showed the highest percentage of impact reduction. The project showed a medium–high level of effectiveness in reducing the total threat magnitude (TRA-I index = 63.08%). The Threat Analysis should be routinely used to arrange a causal chain that is useful for defining the relationships among human-induced threats and ecological targets, selecting the threats with the highest magnitudes. After the projects, the Threat Reduction Assessment may assess the level of threat reduction, suggesting measures for adaptive management.

Dutch Discrimination Against The Natives in Film Bumi Manusia (Study of Discourse Analysis Teun A.Van Dijk)

Film is a communication medium that combines two elements, namely audio (sound) and visual (image) which functions to convey a message to individuals or the general public who gather in a certain place. Film has so many meanings depending on the point of view of the researchers, in my opinion film is one of the mass communication media that displays a series of moving images with a storyline played by actors who have been produced by producers to convey a message to the audience. This study aims to find out the forms of discrimination against natives in the film Bumi Manusia based on Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse analysis by analyzing discriminate texts. This study uses a qualitative approach with Teun A Van Djik's critical discourse analysis as the motive. The data collection technique in this study is that researchers will carry out literature study techniques and note taking techniques. The data analysis technique was adapted to Teun A. Van Djik's discourse analysis, namely text and social context analysis. This research resulted in the conclusion that the film Bumi Manusia shows social discrimination through social status, education, laws that were in force at that time, and discrimination against women. The social context shows that the discrimination that occurred in the film Bumi manusia during the colonial era of the 1920s is still relevant to Indonesia's current situation.

STRATEGI PENYIARAN RADIO REPUBLIK INDONESIA SURAKARTA UNTUK MENJANGKAU PERDESAAN MELALUI PROGRAM SIARAN PEDESAAN

Radio is a mass communication medium that has long been present among the people of Indonesia. Radio Republik Indonesia is a public broadcasting institution whose function is to provide information broadcast services, healthy entertainment education, and social control. The research entitled "Republic of Indonesia Radio Broadcasting Strategy Surakarta To Reach Rural Through Rural Broadcasting Program" aims to describe how the strategy adopted by RRI Pro 1 Surakarta in reaching rural areas through the Rural Broadcasting Program. The method in this research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded that RRI Pro 1 Surakarta broadcasts on 101.1 FM has the power to build a broadcasting strategy in reaching rural areas through rural broadcasting programs using the Prigle Starr-Mccavit Broadcasting Strategy theory, namely program planning Prepare short, medium and long term planning In the long term, program production is in the program production process, RRI Pro 1 Surakarta adjusts programs produced by RRI Pusat, in the sense that all RRI programs throughout Indonesia are produced by RRI itself, program execution in program execution, RRI Pro 1 Surakarta uses clock format system, namely the time that distinguishes morning, afternoon, evening and night and program evaluation in the program evaluation process, RRI Pro 1 Surakarta evaluates every 6 months.

All the President’s Media: How the Traditional Press Responded to New Communications Technology Adopted by US Presidents

Both Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy mastered new forms of mass media communications, ridding themselves of formal gatekeepers to communicate directly to US citizens. For Roosevelt, mastering radio airwaves would allow him to navigate past traditional presidential rhetorical tropes and print journalists’ interpretations of his presidential messages to speak directly to the American public. For Kennedy, television meant advertising spots, late-night talk show appearances, and hour-long specials with his family as a way of pushing the medium beyond televised speeches in his campaigns. This study attempts to understand how the traditional press reacted to these unfiltered messages. Findings suggest that newspaper editorials and magazine stories initially praised these men’s innovative approaches to new technology, but over time, legacy media became disillusioned as it began to view presidential uses of new media as a nuisance that hampered legitimate reporting.

Representation of toponymic changes in the Russian-Ukrainian media discourse: Problems of national security and protection of historical memory

The study of modern toponymic discourse in the mass media is one of the most pressing problems, since the introduction of “new toponymy” into active speech usage, into the cultural context of each member of the mass audience occurs precisely through the mass communication media. At the same time, the generalization of new toponymic units, even at the level of sentences, has a strong and direct impact on the behavior of the audience, the change and formation of the value system through historical and socio-cultural argumentation. Thus, changes in modern toponymy become part of the current linguistic and cultural concept, a linguistic source of information about the social, political, spiritual culture of the mass audience. Moreover, many examples of modern toponymy directly relate to issues of linguistic security in various aspects of media perception, a kind of humanitarian weapon in the confrontation of ideologies of states. Actual changes in toponymy, dictated by socio-political and historical-social circumstances, participate in the formation of a linguistic and cultural concept, which is formed as a result of the reduction of a fragment of the cognizable world to the limits of human memory and is included in the context of culture in verbal units necessary to meet the communicative needs of members of society. We consider the renaming of historical place names as a format for creating new linguistic concepts, part of a destructive information flow that is deliberately formed in the mass media, in the information flow of new media (telegram channels, social networks), creating an up-to-date media discourse. To study onomastic realities, it is necessary to develop a methodology for extracting cultural and historical information from the onomasticon, as well as a methodology for interpreting this information. This work is aimed at analyzing the current toponymic situation in the context of Russian-Ukrainian relations since 2014 and can be regarded as a contribution to the body of research of the cultural and historical onomasticon.

Information and Communication Activities: Content and Audience Characteristics

Introduction. The relevance of the research is aimed at revising traditional technologies and transitioning to the creation of highly effective management systems for the entire complex of information resources. The aim of the study. The purpose of the article is to determine the main regularities of the formation of information and communication activities, in particular content and audience characteristics. The object of research is the information and communication activity of social communications. The subject of scientific research is the content and audience characteristics of the basic concept of the functioning of information culture. Methods. The basis of scientific research is the analysis of theoretical studies. Processing of the source base was based on the application of analytical-synthetic, logical methods, principles of selection, analysis and generalization of research material. The methodology of typological and species segregation was used as a method of determining the specificity of the segmentation of certain realities, content and audience characteristics were formulated. The analytical method was used to reveal the typological factors of information and communication activities. The inductive method made it possible to carry out a general analysis of existing points of view on the investigated problem. Results and conclusions. The means of mass communication are a reflection of the consciousness of both an individual and society in general. All attempts to highlight the socio-cultural features of modern mass communication media, which do not take into account the mass communication media themselves as a phenomenon of combining content and constructive-visual forms of information presentation, go beyond the journalistic characteristics of these media. It is correct to interpret any events not in the traditional typological context of the documentary form of mass communication means, but in the technological context, which involves the use of flexible approaches to mass communication means.

Індивідуальні та масові емоції в маркетингових комунікаціях: роль, місце та значення для брендів та науки

The subject of the author‘s publications are scientific achievements in the field of social communication and materials in mass media that demonstrate the social significance of study of social communication as a sphere of functioning of mass emotions. The participants of social communication should be aware of the phenomenon of transformation of individual emotions in the mass under the influence of the source of information, the media expert and the recipient of information product and commercial brand. The objective of the study is to explain the social problems of the phenomenon of introducing mass emotions into marketing communication. The main results of the research: the article presents the attempts and the effects of mass emotions in marketing communication of global and Ukrainian brands. We have reason to believe that the individual emotions of different consumers are combined in certain circumstances in time and space, and the brand becomes the epicenter of attention and the cause of formation of mass emotions in the field of social communications. The examples from the practical field of marketing communications confirm the theory of new triune nature of social communication, that consists of mass information, mass interpretations, and mass emotions. Using the method of observation, actual material was selected for the analysis of cases where emotion marketing formed (or demonstrated attempts to form) phenomena of mass information influence on the audience. The description method was applied to characterize trends in marketing communications. The method of analysis and interpretation of the received data was used in the formation of research conclusions regarding the results of the impact of mass emotions on the audience of various brands that used emotion marketing for their purposes. The theses of this article are taken from the researcher‘s lecture on the topic ―Individual and mass emotions in marketing communications‖, presented to the students of the 1st year of the studio ―Marketing and Market Communication‖ of the Krakow University of Economics (Republic of Poland) aimed at approving the research topic among the рolish scientists.

Role of Mass Media and Public Health Communications in COVID-19 Vaccination

Vaccines offer life-saving protection against diseases and keep us safe from the harmful effects. The speedy development of vaccines during COVID-19 pandemic has reduced the coronavirus’s transmissibility and severity. COVID-19 vaccine development was challenging but the global scientific collaboration and use of resources including extensive funding made it possible. COVID-19 vaccines were deployed in controlled phases for general public use, initially offering them to the first responders and those vulnerable to life threatening effects of virus. However, it was observed that the general population has widespread vaccine hesitancy. Mass media plays a critical role in influencing people’s attitudes and practices. A common man cannot comprehend correlation from causation and jumps to conclusions. Media has the power to unite the world on one platform for a common cause. It is a source for the public to seek information, but like a double ended sword, this platform that provides information, also gives misinformation. On one hand, the public uses the media to seek information for vaccine safety and efficacy and on the other hand, to propagate unverified conspiracies against vaccines. In this review, we analyze the role of mass media and public health communications in COVID-19 vaccination from December 11, 2020, to September 15, 2021, and draw scientific inferences. We have discussed vaccine hesitancy and some prominent reasons that instil fear among the public, including the implausible claims of vaccines being the carriers of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) microchips, impairing the reproductive systems, converting humans to hybrids, and the misconceptions about herd immunity. A consequential role of media was observed in keeping the world updated and motivated by tracking the vaccine number, distribution and deployment through live dashboards. We saw an upward trend in vaccination numbers with media campaigns, social media vaccination surveys, and socio-medico evidence. Thus, we have proposed a model for developing public awareness and health promotion using media as a tool for better distribution and administration of COVID-19 vaccines. With this, health organizations can gain widespread public trust, manage anti-vaccine movements, overcome threats faced due to vaccine conspiracy theories and eventually overcome the COVID-19 and future pandemics.

The media and violence - cyberbullying

Violence in the media mostly refers to the use of explicit scenes of violence seen on film and television screens as well as in the cyberspace of interactive digital games. Everlasting questioning about the negative effects of the media of mass communication was especially evident in the time of expansion of television and the ?narcotic role? of the television image, when violence became one of the most commercial areas from which the media got the topics of their cultural content. The arrival of the new ways of communication by means of digital media has opened another page in the consideration of the notion of violence in the media - cyberbullying. Therefore, the subject of the paper is violence in the media and the possible effects of traditional and social media on the global audience. By presenting some of the theoretical considerations and empirical research on the effects of the media, the aim of this paper is to answer the question of how much the connection there is between the media and violence with special reference to digital abuse as a long-term exposure to violence on social networks. By using the descriptive-explanatory method and the method of theoretical analysis, by connecting theoretical knowledge and empirical data, the paper, within the scope of the research, presents the overview of theoretical premises related to the action of violence in the media. Likewise, the examples from the field of the effects of violence in traditional and digital media were reviewed in order to realize the phenomenon of violence and its connection with the media. The research results indicated the connection between the effects of traditional and digital violence and the particular danger of different methods of cyberbullying considering the characteristics of this phenomenon. Beginning with the assertion that the media greately influences the recipients with their aggressive content, by applying a literature review, the models of aggression in the traditional media were pointed out, as well as the methods by which cyberbullyingis done by means of text or video messages that insult, harass, threaten. The answer to the question of the connection between the media and violence required theoretical reflections and the presentation of empirical research in order to realize the effects of violent communication, and especially to shed light on digital abuse on social networks. Recent analyses of cyberbullyingrarely rely on the previous research and do not tend to connect mutually in order to provide a general picture, so it is difficult to get a whole picture of the state of violent content in digital media. Nevertheless, even though there are opinions about the media as being the sole culprits of violence in society, even though completely opposite opinions are pointed out, the latest researches unequivocally prove that the theory about the ineffectiveness of media violence is not sustainable.

The problem of researching the features and new methods of presenting news remains one of the most relevant areas of scientific thought. In the news such questions as “What is a genre? What is its function and what are the ways of presenting information?” are put in the first place. In the media market, journalists and specialists in the field of information services introduce more and more modern ways of providing information. Material “styling” is carried out using a wide range of tools. Today, the most important thing in this matter is the effectiveness of providing news, including all the details of the event, to the audience. World news in Kazakh journalism is presented on the basis of international media standards, preserving its own national identity. In this scientific article, we focus on how often the country’s mass communication media provide world news, where and how they get data for the purpose of revealing topics, and the importance of having their own reporters in other countries. Information that can be used as a basis for the article is preferably obtained from materials created based on data related to recent, current events. According to the topic of the scientific article, reference is made to the works of foreign scientists and specific theories are mentioned.

Značaj medijske pismenosti za pripadnike vojske

Abstract: The phrase "media literacy" is becoming ever more present in daily communication. The importance of media literacy is a significant guide for the orientation of members of the military in contemporary media arena dominated by a pronounced dichotomy in the field of effects of media content. New media have given numerous advantages to the life of a modern man. On the other hand, the hyperproduction of false news, fabricated information and interpretations, which often mix fragments of truth and falsehood, have created information disorder in the public sphere having a powerful potential to adversely affect decision-making process, combat morale, reputation and the system of values of soldiers and military leaders. Every day, mass communication media produce narratives which have become a powerful weapon for the production of meaning and reality construction. Media literacy should not be observed solely as a defensive paradigm and a shield against harmful effects of media content, but as a powerful mechanism to recognise and use all those benefits offered by modern digital technologies. The aim of this work is to point out the need to raise awareness of the importance of media literacy as an important competence of members of 21st century military.

ULOGA MASMEDIJSKE KOMUNIKACIJE U TRANSFERU ZNANjA OSNOVNOŠKOLSKE DECE

The paper deals with the role of media in education and socialization of elementary school children, that is, with a specific type of transfer that is acquired through alternative forms of learning, especially through television as a medium. Apart from the process of education, the focus of the paper is on the process of socialization of primary school children, because television as a medium and media in general affect behavior, hab- its, emotional development, and social relations of children and youth. The research problem is related to children’s preferences in choosing media contents and their parents’ role in this process. The basic hypothesis of the research is that the role of mass media, specially television, in the transfer of knowledge of elementary school children is significant. Within the framework of specific hypotheses, the existence of both positive and negative effects of the transfer of knowledge acquired through media on the socialization of elementary school children was assumed, as well as the fact that parents have a significant role in the process. A combined method was used in the research: quantitative survey research and quali- tative focus group research. The survey sample of 246 respondents included children from two schools, one rural and one urban (64 from each school), and parents from one rural and one urban schools (58 from both schools). The focus group sample consisted of two groups of parents from these schools (eight from the rural school and ten from the urban one). Techniques of descriptive statistics and qualitative analysis of respondents’ answers were used to process the obtained data. The results of the research showed that the role of mass media communication in the transfer of knowledge is significant for the socialization of children, but also that the role of media (television) is less pronounced when it comes to the education of children, because children are more focused on the entertainment content. The lack of restrictions in media industry and the introduction of the market principle as media regulatory mechanism was expected to be sufficient for achieving the public interest; however, the educational role of media was neglected at the expense of the entertainment role, which becomes a profit generator. Hence, the children’s choice of TV programs can be assumed to be caused by the lack of production-designed educational programs in commercial media, intended for children. The fact that almost half of the children involved in the research (attending higher grades of elementary school) watch educational documentaries on foreign channels shows that there is interest in educational programs; however, younger children are not able to follow complex formats, therefore the content needs to be simplified and made suitable for different ages. In addition, the contents should be selected in such a way that they correlate with school curricula.

Tendency for hyperbolisation in creating reality in contemporary texts of culture on the example of online news articles

The subject matter of the analysis in this article is the phenomenon of hyperbolisation in mass media communication, which is often encountered in the public sphere. A hyperbola is a verbal construction (a rhetorical figure as well as a clue) with a special linguistic potential, often used for advertising, expressive, commentary, and ludic purposes. The impression of semanƟtic excess and the process of creating the convention of the aesthetics of overstatement and exaggerayion in the media message are ensured by specific linguistic means, including: appropriate types of lexis, phraseologisms, diverse metaphors, morphological measures, and a supra-linguistic context. It turns out that hyperbolisation is one of the linguistic determinants of mass culture. It makes the media message more attractive, strengthens its persuasive power, is emotional, fresh, and linguistically original. Pesan Moral pada Film Mencari Hilal: Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes

Film is one of the mass communication media which is very effective in conveying moral messages to the public. As a visual communication medium, films use moving images and audio which contain information to the audience. Movies become entertainment shows and guidance. In this research, the writer chose the film "Searching for Hilal" as the object of research. This 1 hour 33 minute film tells the journey of a conservative father and a more modern son in search of the new moon, a sign of the beginning of the month of Shawwal and the end of the month of Ramadan. Hilal is used to determine the time of Eid al-Fitr in Islam. This study aims to interpret the moral message of the film “Seeking Hilal” using interpretive qualitative research methods. Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis, which divides meaning into denotation, connotation, and myth, is the data analysis method chosen by the writer to examine pieces of the scene seen as containing elements of moral messages. The results showed the meaning of denotation, connotation, and myths in the film "Searching for Hilal" which contains moral messages, namely: 1). Trade as Worship; 2). Da'wah Ethics; 3). Technology and Islamic Sharia; 4). Religion and Culture; and 5). Diversity in Religion.

Analysis of Teenagers' Receptions About Free Association in the "Little Mom" Series on We Tv

Film is one of the mass communication media that has a major influence on the wider community. The Little Mom film series directed by Guntur Soehardjanto tells the story of teenage pregnancy which is the result of promiscuity. The purpose of this study was to analyze adolescents' reception of promiscuity in the Little Mom series. This study used a qualitative descriptive research method using Stuart Hall's reception analysis. It is expressed in three possible positions, namely dominant hegemony, negotiating position, and oppositional position carried out by the subject under study. Reception analysis refers to the study of the meaning of production and audience experience in relation to interacting with media texts. Stuart Hall explained that reception can be described through a process called encoding-decoding. Encoding is the process of translating the message carried out by the source while decoding is the recipient's attempt to translate the message obtained from the source. The research data collection technique was Roland Bartes' semiotic analysis of 5 scenes and structured interviews with 4 informants in Marga Sakti Sebelat District who were selected by purposive sampling to determine informant criteria and snowball sampling to determine the four informants in the study. The results of the study show that in the first scene, second scene, and third scene, the informants are dominated by oppositional positions. In the fourth scene, informants 1, 2 and 4 are in an oppositional position and informant 3 is in a negotiating position. In the fifth scene, informants 1, 3 and 4 are in an oppositional position and informant 2 is in a negotiating position. There are no informants who are in a position of dominant hegemony.

The Meaning Of Moral Messages In Anime Films Boruto: Naruto The Movie (Semiotic Analysis of Roland Bhartes)

Film is one of the mass communication media that very effectively conveys communication messages for humans. Boruto: Naruto the Movie is one of the films resulting from the process of visualizing comics (manga) which has become a favorite film in Indonesia. This study aims to describe the meaning of moral messages contained in the anime film Boruto: Naruto the Movie. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with Roland Barthes' Semiotic analysis approach. Data collection in this study used two techniques, namely observation and documentation.
