Biologically active supplements overview: regulation, market trends, application, and health impact

The use of biologically active supplements (BAS) has gradually expanded over the past 20 years. The public health crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as concerns about vaccines in many parts of the world have led to a particularly increased interest in using BAS as an alternative for protection and treatment of this new disease to strengthen the immune system and minimize the risk of possible complications. Abroad, as well as in the Russian Federation, there is a sharp increase in BAS sales. In this regard, questions arise about their impact on human health in general. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated both the beneficial properties of BAS and their negative and even toxic effects. Besides, considering the global interest in this problem, there is a need to clarify the legal status of BAS. The object of this review was to summarize the available foreign data on the regulation of using BAS and the corresponding market trends, including a comprehensive analysis of the legislative and regulatory aspects of BAS in the United States, China, and the European Union. The structure and volume of the BAS market were assessed in countries, which primarily produce and import them, and the user profile was analyzed additionally.

Investor attention and market activity: evidence from green cryptocurrencies

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the relationship between investor attention and market activity (return, volatility and volume) using a sample of 14 clean energy cryptocurrencies (hereafter green cryptocurrency), namely, Chia, Cardano, Stellar, Tron, Ripple, Nano, IOTA, EOS, Bitcoin Green, Alogrand, Hedara, Polkadot, FLOW and Tezos. Design/methodology/approach This paper use 26040 crypto-day observations and a range of econometric techniques, including Dynamic Granger causality, Panel vector autoregression (VAR), Impulse response function and the decomposition of forecast error variance. Findings Based on 26040 crypto-day observations, this paper finds a bidirectional Granger causal relationship between investor attention and all measures of market activity, namely, return, absolute volatility, squared volatility and volume. The panel VAR and impulse response function demonstrate that market activity in the green crypto ecosystem, especially volatility and volume, is considerably responsive to changes in investor attention proxied by Google search volume (hereafter Google search volume (GSV)). The findings also demonstrate a significant asymmetric effect of return and volume on investor attention since past negative shocks “or bad news” in return and volume are more likely to grab the investor’s attention. All in all, our study emphasizes the crucial role of investor attention in the green crypto ecosystem. Originality/value (i) The research is the first to shed light on investor attention in the green cryptocurrency market. (ii) The paper uses a wide range of green cryptocurrencies to offer a comprehensive picture of the green cryptocurrency ecosystem. (iii) This paper is the first to use the panel Granger causality to investigate investor attention in the cryptocurrency market which provides several advantages over the conventional Granger causality approach. (iv) This paper is the first to provide novel empirical evidence on the prevalent influence of investor attention in the green crypto market.

СВІТОВІ ТРЕНДИ У АВТОМОБІЛЕБУДІВНІЙ ГАЛУЗІ: УРОКИ ДЛЯ РОЗВИТКУ АВТОМОБІЛЕБУДУВАННЯ УКРАЇНИ В УМОВАХ ЕКОНОМІЧНОЇ ГЛОБАЛІЗАЦІЇ

The article demonstrates that the automotive industry is a significant component of the global economy due to its overall market volume, contribution to GDP, and the number of employed workers. The importance of the automotive industry has prompted an exploration of current global trends in the automotive industry. The trends identified include the development of 'green' technologies in the context of addressing climate change, the rise of 'green' protectionism, and the intensification of economic rivalry between China and Western countries. Other trends encompass the proliferation of autonomous vehicles based on the advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, the integration of cars into the broader network of connected devices within the Internet of Things and cloud technologies, the increased concentration of global value chains, the growth of the sharing economy, urbanization, and the development of urban transport. Furthermore, there is a heightened emphasis on the safety of vehicles, along with regulatory frameworks addressing these requirements. The emergence and development of individual flying devices as alternative modes of transportation are also noteworthy trends. With the aim of assessing the relevance of these trends for Ukraine and their implementation, manifestations of these trends in Ukraine have been evaluated. It has been shown that the most pronounced manifestations include the increased concentration of global value chains and urbanization along with the development of urban transport. To assess the prospects for further development of the examined trends in Ukraine, an evaluation of the readiness of the Ukrainian economy to implement these trends in the automotive industry is presented. The analysis reveals that the Ukrainian economy is most prepared for trends such as the development of 'green' technologies in the context of combating climate change and the growth of the sharing economy. It is shown that the trends in automotive engineering both present opportunities and pose threats to domestic car manufacturers. The composition of these opportunities and threats is outlined. Explored opportunities are mainly associated with the emergence of additional market segments, a stable demand pattern, and the creation of additional economic advantages. The presented threats are mostly linked to changes in demand structure and the insufficient competitiveness of Ukrainian automobile manufacturers in the global market. Factors limiting the opportunities of Ukrainian automotive manufacturers are identified, and the consequences of these factors are demonstrated, ultimately leading to the insufficient competitiveness of Ukrainian producers, an inability to scale production, and difficulties in technical upgrading. The results of the article are of interest for shaping the development of the automotive industry in Ukraine.

The article examines changes in the structure of the advertising market and its synergy with Digital. It was established that the structure of the advertising market, as of 2023, consists of four directions: media advertising, marketing services, digital advertising and PR market. In turn, media advertising includes: TV advertising (direct advertising, sponsorship); digital TV; advertising in the press (national, including sponsorship, regional, specialized); radio advertising (national, regional, sponsorship); OOH Media (outdoor advertising, transport advertising, DOOH, Indoor advertising); advertising in cinemas; Digital (Internet) Media advertising. Marketing services include: Trade marketing (Merchandising, Trade promo, Personnel motivation and control programs); Loyalty marketing (Mailing, DB management, Contact Center); Consumer marketing; Event Marketing and Sponsorship. Digital advertising includes: banner advertising, ads in social networks, rich media; digital video, incl. Youtube; search (paid publication in search engines), including part of GDN; influencer marketing and other digital. Quantitative indicators of the advertising market were studied and significant growth of Digital advertising in 2013-2022 was revealed. The influence of macroeconomic factors, in particular, digital technologies, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian war on advertising and communication activities is analyzed. The study showed that the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to the development and increase of market volumes, and the war led to a significant decrease in the quantitative indicators of the media advertising, marketing services and PR market. The digital market also declined, but only to the indicators of the pandemic period. It was established that the technological factor had a significant impact on the advertising market, not only by changing traditional platforms, but also by additional opportunities in the field of production of advertising materials and creativity. The changes in the legislation of Ukraine introducing the norms of the European legislation into the national legislation through the implementation of certain provisions of the EU legislation in the field of audiovisual advertising are indicated.

A novel discovery model for revealing substitution relationships from international stock markets: With association rule analysis

At present, the trading volume of the stock market is huge, and the traditional method can not effectively find the relationship between the rise and fall of the stock market, but the machine learning method can find their interrelated data from a large number of data. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of association mining technology in analyzing the relationship between the ups and downs of stock markets in various countries, and it found the highest level of association between stock market items as investor references. The research data takes Taiwan's stock market as the target market and the international mainstream stock index as the related stock market. Through the analysis, it is found that association mining can accurately find the associated stock market according to the relevant parameters. The Taiwan stock market is more closely related to the top ten economies such as the Mainland, the United States, the United Kingdom and France, which shows that the rise of the international or mainland stock market will drive foreign capital to actively buy the Taiwan stock market, and vice versa. At last, the study sorted out three groups of stocks with the highest correlation degree according to the results of association mining, Namely Foxconn Stock (2354) and TSMC (2330), which are most closely related to the rise and fall of the international stock market. Therefore, the results of this study can also be used as a reference for investors to choose the stock price of Taiwan stock market.

Density Functional Theory (DFT) Study on the Nontoxic Alternative of Bisphenol A (BPA) Derivatives: A Comprehensive Review

AbstractBisphenol A is an oil‐derived, large market volume chemical with a wide spectrum of applications in plastics, adhesives, and thermal papers. However, bisphenol A and its derivative are not considered safe due to its endocrine disrupting properties and reproductive toxicity. A nontoxic alternative of bisphenol analogus has been proposed in this study using plant biomass. A study of different DFT‐based QSAR approaches has been done to show the significance of the conceptual DFT‐based selected descriptors with different QSAR models in the prediction of toxicity and to establish meaningful correlations between the molecular structure of the proposed compounds and their toxicological properties. Multiple regression analysis and ANN model are also suggested to use to relate the biological activity with the global and local reactivity descriptors.

ONLINE STORE AS A COMPONENT OF E-COMMERCE AND DIGITAL BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION

This article examines the issue of managing an organization in the context of digital business transformation. The process of searching and optimizing methods and tools of digital transformation is relevant, this is especially evident in the field of e-commerce. In the article, the authors provide an overview of the e-commerce market, its leaders are highlighted. Based on the analysis of the structure and features of the development of global and national e-commerce markets, three categories are identified: 'large and mature', 'catching up' and 'waiting markets'. The dynamics of the global e-retail trade volume and the dynamics of sales volume of the Russian e-commerce market are considered. The concept of 'e-commerce' is clarified, the positive and negative sides of the development of e-commerce are highlighted. Depending on the types of subjects initiating interaction, the types of information and economic interaction or types of e-commerce are fixed. The article notes that information and communication technologies (ICTs) contribute to the organization and optimization of a number of business processes that are the basis of e-commerce: electronic data exchange, e-commerce and marketing, the formation of information and analytical systems of the organization. The authors emphasize that from the point of view of marketing, one of the most interesting components of e-commerce, its trading platform is online stores. The definition of the concept of 'online store' is given. By analyzing the entire variety of online stores represented in the modern business space, the authors classify them according to the methodology of doing business and the type of platform, by the type of organization of sales and trading activities, by product range and type of relationships with suppliers. The proposed classification allows you to: identify the entire range of online stores; streamline these tools; facilitate the search and justification of the choice of optimal methods of digital business transformation.

Analysis of Existing Problems in Chinese A-share Market and Relevant Solutions

China's A-shares have developed rapidly in recent years, with huge market volume and scale, and have become an important direction for corporate financing and mass investment. There are still many problems in the A-share market, which will affect the development of the A-share market. There is a problem of slow delisting in the A-share market, which will lead to bad enterprises not being cleared in time, and the frequency of market update is not enough, which needs to be alleviated by further improving the legal system and changing policies. Some sectors of the A-share market have the problem of downward market, resulting in financing difficulties for companies in these sectors and unable to develop normally. Development trends in the management consulting industry in dental medical organizations

The evolution of healthcare industry management corresponds to management trends in the global economy. Reforming medicine within the framework of the concepts of sustainable development, value-oriented approach, person-centeredness, as well as challenges due to the pandemic provide a number of relevant tasks and subjects for management consulting. A comparison of the market volumes of domestic and foreign medical management consulting shows a significant difference in the demand for this field of activity. It is necessary to explore the objective and subjective reasons for the restrictions on the development of domestic management consulting. The purpose of the study is to identify problems of management consulting in dental practice. The authors set the task of reviewing foreign and domestic sources of scientific literature and analytical reporting on the management consulting market, clarifying the main economic trends in domestic and foreign consulting services in healthcare, and identifying indicators and performance factors for management consulting in dental institutions. The methodology of content analysis of scientific information made it possible to draw conclusions about the state of the industry and formulate recommendations for its scaling. The results of the study confirmed the relevance of management consulting for the management and staff of dental organizations and the need for the development of the industry. The challenges of modern management increase the need to attract experts and professional management consultants to dental organizations.

Improving market (cull) dairy cows carcass traits and meat quality

Despite a high volume of market (cull) dairy cows entering the food chain every year, beef from market dairy cows is largely considered insignificant when compared with beef from beef cattle in the market and is widely thought to be used for ground beef only. Our study aimed to evaluate the effects of feeding dairy market cows on a lactating TMR diet before slaughter on carcass and beef quality traits. Forty-three Holstein market cows were randomly assigned into 2 treatments: Fed or Direct. Fed cows (n = 22) were dried off, then fed a lactating cow TMR ration for approximately 60 d whereas Direct cows (n = 21) were sent directly to slaughter. Hot carcass weight (HCW) was used to calculate the dressing percentage (DP) together with the animals' body weight recorded when animals left the farm to go to the abattoir. At 24h post-mortem, the rib fat thickness (RFT) and rib eye area (REA) were measured by a certified grader. Afterward, rib samples were collected between the 12th -10th ribs from one side of the carcass and divided into 5 ribeye steaks. The first steak was used for intramuscular fat (IMF) content analysis by NIRS. The other 4 steaks were then aged for 7, 14, 21, or 28 d. Following aging, the steaks available were assessed for tenderness using the Warner-Bratzler Shear Force protocol. Data were analyzed by mixed linear regression to compare experimental groups for continuous outcomes. HCW of the Fed cows was higher than the Direct cows, with a mean HCW of 408.3 kg and 326.1 kg, respectively (SE ± 9.0). Average DP in Fed cows was 49.1%, compared with 42.5% in Direct cows (SE ± 0.69). The average percentage of IMF in Fed cows was 8.1% and in Direct cows was 5.0% (SE ± 0.43). Fed cows had a mean REA of 68.1 cm2 and Direct cows had a mean of 57.7 cm2 (SE ± 11.9). No differences were found for RFT. The steaks aged for 14 d resulted in meat with a mean shear force (SF) of 4.19 kg in Fed cows, while Direct cows had a mean SF of 6.28 kg (SE ± 0.29) Feeding market dairy cows for 60 d before slaughter enhanced carcass weight and yield, IMF content, and tenderness. These results indicate that approximately 60 d of feeding can improve the quality of market dairy cow meat and may help improve market cow value.

Volatility spillover across spot and futures markets: Evidence from dual financial system

This paper investigates dynamic returns and volatility spillovers between spot and futures markets in a dual financial system. It further analyses the shock transmission of both volume trading and open interest in the futures market. Empirical results suggest that both spot and futures indices are net transmitters of return spillovers to the volume and open interest of the futures market, whereas the futures volume is the only net transmitter of volatility spillovers to all other variables. This is consistent with the Information Arrival Hypothesis theory. The empirical analysis also evidences the presence of a dynamic interdependence between both Islamic and conventional spot market volatilities and the futures market. In particular, the returns and volatility spillover are bidirectional and ricocheting-off transmission in nature. Specifically, such interdependence is stronger in the case of the Islamic spot index than the conventional spot index and during financial shocks.

Mortgage lending as a tool for socio-economic development in the Arctic zone

The problem of housing provision occupies an important place in the socioeconomic development of the Arctic regions of the Russian Federation. Mortgage lending with government support is a key financial instrument in this context. To support the population of the Arctic region, the influx of new personnel and the development of the construction industry in the Arctic, in December 2023 in the Russian Federation launched a new preferential programme «Arctic Mortgage», under which the residents of the Arctic region will be able to buy housing and improve their standard of living. The article presents an overview of the mortgage lending market in Russia for the period from 2019 to 2023: it analyses the dynamics of the number of credit institutions, changes in the weighted average rate on mortgage loans, as well as the share of preferential mortgages in the specified period of time. The factors influencing the volume and development of the mortgage lending market are highlighted, and the main reasons for the use of government-backed mortgage loans are identified. The current state of the mortgage lending sector is analysed in the context of the current economic situation. All these data are borrowed from the materials of the websites of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the Association of Banks of Russia and other statistical reports placed in the public domain on the Internet. However, they have not previously been published in scientific publications.

Three-scenario forecast of retail e-commerce market volume changes in Kazakhstan until 2026

The new stage of global development is characterized by the movement of data across national borders, which is changing the nature and patterns of commerce. Despite the existence of e-commerce for many years, the current scale of these transactions is not commensurate with the previous ones. In addition, the emergence of marketplaces has fundamentally changed the rules of the game, causing a transformation of commerce processes. The purpose of the research is to compile a forecast model of changes in the volume of Kazakhstan's retail e-commerce market in the optimistic, pessimistic and baseline scenarios. Forecast models were formed as a result of correlation and multiple regression analysis. Scenario forecasts were built taking into account changes in the volume of retail trade in the country based on current conditions of the economy functioning. The results of the study allowed to identify factors that positively and negatively affect the development of the retail e-commerce market in Kazakhstan. The first group includes the growth of the total volume of retail trade, the share of Internet users aged 16–74, the share of non-cash payments in the total structure of payments, and the second group includes the growth of cash payments. The scientific significance of the obtained results lies in the justification of the influence of a set of factors on the change in the volume of the retail e-commerce market. The obtained results can be used by authorized bodies to regulate the market under study by influencing individual factors of e-commerce development.

Analysis of the world market of waste management

This paper provides an overview of the solid waste management market, which is the object of the study, including the processes of collection, transportation, utilization and recycling, supervision and monitoring of these processes. The volume and dynamics of the global waste management market in 2023 and its forecasting until 2033 are considered. The problem solved in the article is to identify the key factors of influence and interconnection on the development of waste management market components to determine the directions of an effective sustainable development policy. The author analyzes the methods of waste management in different European countries and identifies the key factors influencing the market dynamics: the effects of urbanization, environmental regulations, waste-to-energy technologies, circular economy initiatives, smart waste management systems, increased waste recycling, and the development of green infrastructure. It is determined that the growing awareness of environmental problems and increasing public pressure are leading to an increase in government investment in the development of innovative technologies for effective waste management. It is established that the promotion of recycling infrastructure and the implementation of campaigns aimed at raising awareness among the population leads to an increase in the importance of responsible waste management, the introduction of public-private partnerships in the field of waste management and the development of green infrastructure. The market is analyzed by region, end user, and waste type. According to the regional analysis, North America has the largest market share, but Asia Pacific is showing the fastest growth. North America has a large waste management market due to its developed infrastructure and high level of environmental awareness. However, Asia-Pacific, particularly China and India, is emerging as a growth center due to rapid economic development, population growth, and rapid urbanization, indicating the potential for new waste management markets in this region. According to the analysis by waste type, industrial waste is the largest category, with the electronic segment showing dynamic growth. This analysis allows to forecast the market and trends in the waste management industry, which makes it possible to calculate costs and profits, scale global trends to Ukrainian realities, and offer promising investment opportunities, which is especially important in the times of recovery of Ukraine.

Futures Leads the Spot but Why not so When Market in Shocks? A Time-Varying Price Discovery of Indian Precious Metals

The study empirically measures the average and time-varying contribution of the spot and futures market to the price discovery of benchmark Indian precious metals from June 2005 to March 2023. The two most popular precious metals in India, i.e., Gold and Silver, were selected for the study. The average contribution is measured through VECM (Vector Error Correction Model) and CFW (common factor weights). Additionally, for getting time-varying contribution, VECM is reformulated into state space form and Kalman filter and smoothening are applied for computing time-varying CFW. Findings reveal that price discovery depicts time-varying behaviour during the study period. While most of the time, futures lead the spot, in case of any shocking news, the spot market dominates the futures as noise trading happens in the futures market for both precious metals, i.e., Gold and Silver. Furthermore, futures market volume, volatility, and COVID-19 negatively affect the price discovery in both precious metals.

The article discusses current trends and prospects for the development of artificial intelligence technology. International research data and ratings of leading trends in the digital economy are analyzed. The volume of the global market for AI technologies and the leading countries in terms of the amount of investment in this area have been studied. The purpose of this article is to consider how artificial intelligence can improve the process. The article analyze various techniques that make positive changes to the practice of artificial intelligence and discuss the potential benefits, challenges and ethical issues associated with this development. Using examples of the successful implementation of artificial intelligences, the article shows how technology is changing the way of learning and people are thereby helping to reach new heights.

Market analysis of food products for special medical purposes

Nutrition is considered to be one of the main factors ensuring vital activity. Its comp­leteness and compliance with metabolic needs are especially important for people in emer­gencies. Therefore, consuming (using) food products for special medical purposes has become quite widespread. It has been establi­shed that this product market segment is showing stable growth at all levels. It is explained both by the general tendency to improve the condi­tions of treatment and recovery, the use of functionally oriented products, and the growing concern of the public about their own health as the result of the spread of the coronavirus infection COVID-19, and general trends towards increasing the average age of the world popu­lation. The last factor is especially relevant for the countries of Europe. It was analyzed that in 2023, the global market volume of food products for special medical purposes consti­tuted more than USD 14 billion, and by 2030, it should have exceeded USD 19.5 billion with an average compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of nearly 5.8%. The main world producers of these products are international companies Nestle, Danone Nutricia, Abbott, Bayer, Mead Johnson, Lenus Pharma, Gruppo Farma­Impresa (GFI) and Galen Limited. It has been established that in 2023, the volume of the European market for the researched products exceeded the figure of USD 3.3 billion, and the average CAGR over the past 3 years was almost 5.6%. The state of the market for the studied products in Ukraine is insignificant, and makes up almost 0.1% of the global one. However, this market has significant prospects for growth in the case of an increase in the population’s income. It is forecasted that the main current trends in the market develop­ment will include the assortment diversification of such products, in particular, targeted at meeting the needs of representatives of aging groups and groups with various additional diseases. With regard to the Ukrainian market, there should be an additional focus on ensuring the domestic production of the analyzed products.

DEVELOPMENT OF THE E-COMMERCE MARKET IN UKRAINE IN THE CONTEXT OF MODERN CHALLENGES

Over the past few decades, the use of e-commerce in business has increased significantly. More and more companies that used to focus exclusively on offline operations are beginning to consider e-commerce as a promising area of strategic development. As a result, studying the state of the e-commerce market in Ukraine, as well as trends and barriers to its development, will allow to develop an understanding of the peculiarities of the functioning and growth of business entities in the context of the Ukrainian online environment. In this regard, it is worth paying special attention to the study of the specifics of the development of the e-commerce market as a strategic recovery of the Ukrainian economy. The subject of the study is the process of development of the Ukrainian e-commerce market in the conditions of war. The purpose is to research and analyse the state of the e-commerce market in Ukraine in the context of growing instability caused by the war, as well as to identify key issues and trends in the development of the e-commerce system in an unstable and changing environment. The questions of this study require the use of a combination of general scientific and modern research methods, among which the most important are the method of system analysis (when studying the approaches and points of view of Ukrainian and Western scientists), economic and statistical analysis (to determine the trends in the development of e-commerce in Ukraine), analysis and synthesis (when studying the types and models of e-commerce), graphic analysis (to visualize a number of theoretical and practical provisions of the article). The article examines the state of the e-commerce market in Ukraine during the war. It finds that until 2022 there was a significant increase in the volume and growth rate of the e-commerce market. With the outbreak of the war, the market experienced a dramatic drop in volume, but from 2023 significant stabilisation processes took place. The importance of further development of the e-commerce market not only during the war, but also to overcome its consequences during the post-war recovery period is determined. Conclusions. Ukrainian e-commerce is experiencing high growth rates. The barriers to entering the online market are relatively low and the benefits of e-commerce for users and entrepreneurs are tangible. However, at the current stage, the Ukrainian e-commerce market has many unresolved issues that hinder its development. If the key issues are effectively addressed, the development of e-commerce in Ukraine will have a future.
