Evaluation of Music Art Teaching Quality Based on Grey Neural Network

The study and implementation of music art teaching quality monitoring systems as a major teaching management project in Chinese colleges and universities has been in continuation for a decade. An essential challenge in the management of colleges and universities is that how to assess the teaching abilities of music and art professors fairly and objectively. The system is designed and implemented by separating the front end and back end of browser + server to provide examination services in the way of cloud computing. This system primarily gathers the students’ multidimensional data including sound intensity, pitch, and beat. Then a grey neural network is used to analyze the students’ sound intensity, pitch, and beat. After evaluation process, the scores of the final examination in colleges and universities are uploaded to the backstage server in real-time.

Design of an Intelligent Platform for Financial Expense Reimbursement in Colleges Based on Intelligent Data Storage of Process Information Sampling

Dynamic Student Data Management Using Resource Optimization Technology in Higher Education Platforms

This study combines intelligent resource optimization technology to build a dynamic student data management model and suggests a fuzzy hierarchical network representation model based on isomorphism and homogeneity in order to increase the effectiveness of dynamic student data management in colleges and universities. The important semantics of nodes in the network are also captured in this study using fuzzy k-kernel decomposition as a technique for multigranularity partitioning. Based on the SIR model, FHNE compares the production of the sequence to the process of information transmission in the random walk stage, which increases the node sequence’s accuracy. According to the research, the dynamic student data management system that is used in the higher education platform that is suggested in this study can significantly increase the effectiveness of managing student data.

A Review of the Integrated Creative Arts Curriculum Implementation in Nigerian Teacher Education Colleges

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of Integrated Creative Arts (ICA) curriculum in Teacher Education Colleges (TECs) in Nigeria.
 Methodology: The paper used a desk study review methodology where relevant empirical literature was reviewed to identify main themes and to extract knowledge gaps.
 Findings: The study concluded that the lack of schemes of work, lesson plans, ICA syllabus and handbooks has a negative an impact on the implementation of ICA curriculum in TECs in Nigeria.
 Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends that the college management should make it a point of duty to avail art rooms, workshops and music rooms in all Teachers Education Colleges (TECs) with adequate provision of equipment, and tools this will make teaching and learning of the subject to be meaningful, as the students will have the opportunity to be engaging in practical works, which is the major aspect of the curriculum; Instructional materials should be provided and their usage be made compulsory in TECs.

Development of an Employee Attendance System Using Face Recognition and QR-Code Technology

Abstract: The procedure of recording attendance at any organization, including polytechnics and other institutions, is crucial to demonstrating why a particular employee is exceptional. Traditional attendance management systems, which use attendance sheets and signatures, have shown to have some associated issues, including time wastage, impersonation, and attendance sheet misplacement, making the system wasteful and unproductive. Appraising Non-academic staff in Yaba College of Technology has been a great challenge due to the aforementioned problem confronting the management to properly monitored the attendance system put in place with the traditional methods. To solve these problems, the study developed a computerized attendance system that implements face recognition and QR-code was designed and implemented using python programming language, MySQL server database, Tkinter framework was used to build the interface and Open Camera Vision (OpenCV) library. The algorithms for face detection and recognition include Haar cascasde algorithm and Local Binary Pattern Histogram (LBPH) algorithm respectively. The system is equipped with the capability to send instant email attendance reports to the management on daily, weekly or monthly basis. The result findings shows that there was 98.8% detection and recognition rates and 0.12% errors encountered for both face and QR-code. The highest read time was also measured to be 210.30ms. The result finding from our test shows the efficiency and effectiveness of the attendance system and it is therefore recommended for use in Yaba College of Technology for attendance monitoring of Non-academic staff for onward appraisal by the HOD, Dean and the college management.

Post-COVID-19 e-learning acceptance and its impact on community college students in Kelantan, Malaysia: A quantitative analysis

The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between student motivation, student mindset, computer competency, and behavioural intention to continue using e-learning in the post-COVID-19 era among students at the community colleges in Kelantan, Malaysia. This quantitative study used a self-administered online survey questionnaire, and a convenience sampling method was employed to reach the respondents. Partial least square structural equation modelling (SmartPLS) 4.0 was then used for data analysis. The results of the current study reveal that community college students have a high behavioural intention to continue using e-learning in the post-COVID-19 era, and that behavioural intention positively correlates with student motivation and computer competency. However, there is limited evidence to support the relationship between student mindset and their behavioural intention to continue using e-learning in the post-COVID-19 era. Practically, the findings from this study can be an essential landmark to the management of Community Colleges in determining the direction of future learning in community colleges.

ABSTRACT The Society of American Archivists (SAA) and its members have conducted numerous surveys of the archival profession—both of archivists as individuals and of archival institutions—through the years. In 1949, the College and University Archives Committee of SAA conducted the first survey specifically of college and university archives. Building off previous surveys, in 2021 the College and University Archives Landscape Survey was undertaken by the College and University Archives Section to gather data about the management and organization of college and university archives within the United States, as well as about the backgrounds, skills, responsibilities, and tasks in which college and university archivists are engaged. While the initial results were released to the membership, this article represents further analysis and contextualization with other professional literature. It identifies trends, similarities, and differences between surveys and eras, and it provides suggestions for future surveys and research.

Mechanism of Water Use Behavior of College Students Based on the Improved TPB Model

Colleges and universities are a typical service water consumers in China, i.e., with a dense population, single structure, and regular water use. This means it is crucial to strengthen the management of their water use behavior. In this paper, first of all, the main water devices and water use behavior of students were elucidated by investigating and analyzing the structure and scenarios of water use in colleges and universities. Then, a model of water use behavior of college students with sociodemographic and environmental characteristics was constructed based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB). By investigating and analyzing the water use behavior, the theoretical judgment of the improved TPB model that “behavior is the result of interaction between individual and environmental characteristics” was proved, which provides a reference for studying the water demand requirements of college students and supports scientific water-use management in colleges, our results also help the exploration of potential water-saving solutions in order to construct water-conservative colleges and universities.

NEEDS ASSESSMENT OF TEACHING METHODS USED FOR IMPLEMENTING ACCOUNTING EDUCATION CURRICULUM IN FEDERAL COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN SOUTH-SOUTH NIGERIA

The study is a needs assessment of teaching methods used for implementing accounting education curriculum in federal colleges of education in South-South Nigeria. One research question guided the study and one null hypothesis was tested at a 0.05 level of significance. The study adopted a sequential explanatory mixed methods research design. The entire population of 216 (68 accounting educators and 148 final-year accounting education students) was studied without sampling. A five-point rating scale questionnaire which was validated by experts and a semi-structured interview schedule was used for data collection. The questionnaire has a reliability coefficient value of 0.91 using the internal consistency method with Cronbach alpha. Mean, standard deviation, and t-tests were used to analyze quantitative data while thematic analysis was used for qualitative data. The study revealed that graduating accounting education students in federal technical and conventional colleges of education in South-South Nigeria agreed that different teaching methods were occasionally used for implementing the accounting education curriculum. No gap exists between graduating students in federal technical and conventional colleges of education on the teaching methods frequently used by accounting educators for implementing the curriculum but the hypothesis revealed that a gap exists but is not significant. Furthermore, teacher-led instruction was the theme identified. The study concluded that graduating students' exposure to excessive traditional-based instructional delivery will not only affect their acquisition of critical thinking and creativity skills but may also affect their employability profile and productivity in the labor market. It was recommended among others that the National Commission for Colleges of Education should partner with the management of federal colleges of education in South-South Nigeria to organize capacity-building programs for accounting educators on varieties of instructional methodologies that can be used for greater instructional outcomes. This will go a long way in ensuring that accounting education graduates can demonstrate mastery of accounting concepts and acquire accounting skills for effective performance in the workplace.
