In this study, we tried to suggest the direction for designing Practical Arts practice by reflecting the maker education and sloyd system philosophy. In this process, the educational implications were found that maker education, which started from the maker movement, should be centered on the learner in the practice activities, emphasize the learner’s mindset, and pay attention to the value of practice. And in the Sloyd system, the educational implications of the practice include the formation of a whole human being, the educational value of the joy of working, the intuitive teaching method using sight and touch, and a teacher who can fully understand children. Based on these discussions, in order to incorporate the philosophy of maker education and the educational implications of the Sloyd system into Practical Arts practice, it is necessary to consider change in cognitive and behavioral education scenes, emphasis on changes in emotional aspects, and providing opportunities in functional aspects as the basic philosophy. When constructing a practical textbook from this point of view, it is necessary to include information on activities centered on raw materials, guidance on the use of tools, and ways of using the results of the practice.
