This paper discusses the optical properties of magneto-plasmonic crystals, which are one-dimensional metallic gratings deposited on a uniform magnetic dielectric layer. All possible cases of the orientation of the magnetization are investigated. The resonance features in the spectra of magnetooptic effects are explained in terms of the excitation of the intrinsic waves of the system: surface plasmon–polaritons and quasi-waveguide modes of the dielectric layer.
